flimsy and easily broken By A1PAGHECG401K1 on 2006-06-26
After using this product for five days in the pool (five hours of use) it no longer works. It appears that the jack is very flimsy, and that ANY stress on the cord attaching the headphones to the jack (such as wearing the headphones!) will immediately dislodge the wire from the jack and rending the headphones useless.
It's a shame- I was SO excited to find a set of headphones that stayed put while I swam laps, and was comfortable. But the fact they died so quickly (I normally get at least a month out of the cheapy ones) just irritates me. I'd wait a while for the company to perfect these, because clearly the first ones produced have some major issues.
I don't understand why someone can't invent a sturdy, comfortable pair of waterproof headphones. They don't have to be high fidelity or anything, just as long as they don't short out all the time.
Terrible sound, uncomfortable, break easily By A313H3OWLOEDKP on 2007-05-14
I was excited about having waterproof headphones but these are very cheaply made and already there's a bad connection in the cable. They're also hard to get lined up properly in your ear canal and don't block out the water. This means the sound has different intensities as water goes in and out of your ears.
I would steer clear of these phones.
Doesn't fit By A3RP90BF1SVP0W on 2007-08-09
The headphones are just too small to fit on my head (which is large but not unusually so) and there's absolutely no way to adjust them so they can fit.
Go with the Aquapac instead! By A13SPJ6DRRDIGN on 2008-01-21
I was excited to listen to music while swimming, so I bought and Otter box, and H2O Swimbelt and the H2O headphones. The system worked except for the horrible headphones, they could not keep water out, I tried it every way I could. Got some audio in one ear for two swim laps,...very frustrating (and expensive). Very reluctantly I tried another set of headphones (just this week): the Aquapac Waterproof Headphones. they worked 100%. I cannot say how long these will hold up, but I know they work now. The H2O Audio phones never worked (and were very uncomfortable).

- music while swimming laps at the gym
     By A1UMTJAJJWCBJ0 on 2007-01-05
These headphones work for me. Swimming laps at the gym can be boring but whith these headphones I can listen to my favorite tunes on my ipod shuffle. Overall, I'm pleased with my purchase, but some people should know that when using these, it is unreasonable to expect the same sound quality as you would get with headphones that aren't waterproof. The main drawback is that the music gets louder or quieter depending whether your head is under water or not, and the other thing is that sometimes the water splashing against your head or the sounds of one's own breathing can make it hard to hear the music clearly. I don't think this is the problem of the headphones being bad, but just an example of the simple physics of swimming in water, where sound travels and is conducted differently than ordinary air. I didn't have any problems with the headphones trying to be pulled off my head. My one critique is that the rubber earbuds could maybe be improved with a softer silicone or a different design that could keep the water out better. The bottom line though, is that they work and I'm happy to hear anything while swimming, it's alot of fun.
- Please give me a new pair of headphones!!!
     By A2U8P3TAJHREL4 on 2007-05-12
I really liked these headphones, they didnt sound too bad for something your listening to underwater. The first pair I had got a loose wire and started cutting in and out, till finally there was no sound at all. I thought that it was because I was too rough with them. So I got my second pair,I've only used them about 2 1/2 weeks( being very careful with them) and again the same thing is happening. For 25.00 to 30.00 I expect better quality. I'm going to try and get a replacement but You all know how that goes. Wish me luck.
- Takes some adjusting
     By A36AWPZ3XFMIQ8 on 2007-09-11
I tried using the headphones two ways. First as recommened by the instructions to take off the headbar and just clip the earphone to my ears. Then I tried them with the headbar attached. Worked much better in terms of sound quality and I did not have to stop while swimming to adjust the fit.
Otherwise, a great way to eliminate the boredom of long distance swimming. The first quarter mile went like a breeze.
- These headphones are useless and waterproof
     By A7UMQDAO3ET1W on 2008-01-07
These headphones are inaudible under water.
They are also uncomfortable to wear.
You can not hear the music under water.
Not recommending these.
- very flexible
     By AHYW6EHKMZ1JV on 2007-01-19
bought this item for my boyfriend. He loads trucks for hours straight and needed something that would move with him and stay out of his way. He also needed something that would not be damaged by sweat. These headphones work great for all his needs. In addition, the product came within less than a week. No complaints here.
- short cord, not what i was expecting
     By A3KAC0R7SLZ73S on 2007-02-25
after reading a couple reviews on here i was pretty excited to be getting these. i dont swim with them, but cant imagine they would be good for that. i wanted some earphones that wouldnt get damaged in the rain, and i could excercise and get all sweaty with. these seem bulky, the cord isnt long enough by a MILE and im pretty disappointed. aw.
- Like listening to someone sing into a paper cup -through a straw
     By A1H2QELRGD250R on 2007-03-08
I gave this two stars and not one because these headphones are unique in that you can submerge them in water and hear sound without ruining the headphones. Unfortunately the sound quality is very poor.
- Headphones are 5 star when submerged
     By A1U6WG7YRWZDWS on 2007-05-12
The headphones are basic when played above water - but are superior when submerged. Also the ear plugs mention that they can be trimmed, I tried that and cut it too close. I will say that H2 Audio was very responsive to helping me correct my mistake. I am highly impressed with both the company and their merchandise.
- Muffled sound
     By A1X0J77CX1IJUO on 2007-05-18
I'm very disappointed in the sound quality of these headphones. They are waterproof, but sound muffled.
- Works well, but might take some practice
     By AFBE8ODFG6WX2 on 2007-09-12
I've used these headphones twice now. They work as advertised; they are waterproof and it's great to be able to listen to music while swimming in the pool. The cord is shorter than the cord on the standard white iPod earphones, but it seems like it would be long enough to reach an armband or a belt around your waist. I am a woman so I just tuck the iPod into my bathing suit and so I have no problems with cord length.
My only complaint is that it's hard to insert the earphones into your ear at the correct angle so it will both block out water and also channel the music properly. So I have to swim a lap, adjust the earphones, swim another lap, adjust the earphones again, swim another lap, adjust, etc. for about 10 minutes before I find the right angle. Hopefully this will get easier with time.
- Great purchase
     By AWOPBVHX0YE5E on 2007-09-15
I was initially skeptical about these headphones b/c I had read many negative reviews. I went ahead with the purchase, and I have been pleasantly surprised by the results. You will never get the type of sound and clarity that you would with regular headphones. BUT, having said that, these headphones are GREAT. It took me about 5 minutes of swimming with them on to get used to them and figure out the best fit. The best way to use them is to be sure to put them in your ears BEFORE you get in the pool - the ends of the headphones are basically earplugs with a hole in them (for the sound). If water gets into your ears (which will happen from time to time), it muffles the sound a bit. But, even with this happening, the sound is still good. I am using the Otterbox ipod with these headphones. Overall, I am VERY pleased with this purchase!
- ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE DESIGN AND NOT FUNCTIONAL
     By AE85X48BZPK7G on 2007-12-04
I've had these earphones for two days and I am sending them back. What a complete waste of my time and energy. They simply do not work as advertised. Not in the least. I hardly took two stokes before water came gushing into the ear and headphones, completely muting all sound. There is no listening to music with these in the water, just the pain of plastic wrapped tightly around your head. Do not waste your time trying to get them to work, as I tirelessly did. It's clear that there was no 'human testing' with these and the engineers clearly designed them on paper and not in the water. They are good in theory and absolutely worthless in practice. That said, there are some new designs coming out that outmatch these crappy things on every level.
- Silence is better than pain
     By ACN06PJTESTZA on 2007-12-16
These things are a novelty item and should be sold alongside whoopie cushions. They actually hurt when on, and getting a good sound out of them is nearly impossible. The premise is terrific, but the reality is something altogether different. Unfortunately so, because having music in the pool would make the transition to swimming that much better.
Oh well. Enjoying silence is not a bad thing either. Save the money for something else.
- uncomfortable
     By A2V2IZVUQ7UD9O on 2007-12-18
These are completel;y uncomfortable for me and don't fit in a way that produces good sound.
- don't kid yourself - don't buy this
     By A2681IOWNSUHWV on 2007-12-18
I took the few good reviews and convinced myself that I could make this work. I was a fool. Even if a few people have gotten them to work, they're still a crummy product.
- To Small!
     By A9621HNMMZP8Q on 2007-03-13
I have not actually used the head phones yet as they are to small. The one piece design that fits around the back of your head was just not big enough to fit my big cranium. I have a 22" neck so it would probably fit a regular joe just fine. My ratinhg is based on the fact that i couldn't not rate it because of the software, gets a 3 for design
- It works but cord is short
     By A3QB8CZ68XB22K on 2007-08-14
These headphones do work but the cord is short and pulls if you wear them around your neck. I put the cord beneath my chin.
- terrible
     By A2MLAOXVM6IRXA on 2007-08-30
very poor sound quality, very uncomfortable, and the cord isnt long enough. just buy a cheap pair of ear buds unless youre swimming in the things.
- waterproof head set...WOW..!!!!!
     By A15FGB77B0ZILZ on 2007-09-21
what a wonderful product. when you have to swim laps every day you want something that will relieve the boredom. this is definitely it. makes the time go sooooo fast. sound is fine for listening to a book on my ipod. not too great for music.
- nice idea
     By A171O25QPGNSN0 on 2007-10-02
I was so excited about being able to swim with music. I have been waiting for this type of product for a long time. .. I have been swimming with these earphones with my waterproof shuffle daily for a week. When any water enters my ears, it is so muffled that it is impossible to listen and swim at the same time. I have spent well over half hour per day to improve this problem. silicone gel, swimcap pulled over my ears... nothing stops the water from entering. I talked to customer support who was nice, but admitted that it was a common problem fro real swimmers. " These were not designed for lap swimmers, it was made for being in the pool" He seemed like the reurn was no problem as long as it was within 30 days. I like the cord length. Anything longer would interfere with swimming. I wear my shuffle on my arm, though. If you want it any other place(like on waist) I could see how that wold be problematic.
