Use an Altoids tin instead... By A2FY8306QHI5LE on 2007-01-16
That's what I use to put my Plantronics headset in when I'm not wearing it; I only use the headset in the car, so I just put it in the Altoids tin and it's safe and sound until I need it!
This case needs a retaining strap! By A38CAELIAI2CYI on 2006-11-15
This is a cute little case, but doesn't hold the headset firmly. My Plantronics Voyager 510 headset popped right out into a plumbing fixture full of water! If the case had a retaining strap like some of the Motorola cases, that wouldn't have happened.
If you use this case, fold the headset and put the microphone end in *first*. It's less likely to pop out that way. I still wouldn't put in on my belt; keep it in a pocket. My headset worked again after it dried out (I got lucky).
Very nice case By A32DZ5ER0PV2S6 on 2006-12-15
I purchased this case after reading the two negative reviews because I liked the design and had a simple idea of sewing a small strip of velcro to the case to secure the headset. Turns out it's not needed. Not sure how the other reviewers installed their headsets, but there is two small openings on the bottom of the case. If you push the large portion of the 510 that goes behind your ear through the opening (maybe 1/4 inch), it completely secures the headset. Plus it lowers the mic further protecting it from damage. I went jogging with my 2 boxers today for about 45 minutes and the 510 didn't budge at all. Been using for a little over a week now and am very impressed with it. Maybe including some instructions would have been helpful because if you don't push the headset through that opening, it's just going to pop right out.
No peace of mind. By A2WM45XB3302MU on 2007-07-11
I'd give this 2 stars but I figured that since I still use it, it deserved at least 3.
It's supposed to hold the Voyager 510 headset but it sorta fails to do so. There's no real instructions or demonstration on HOW the headset is supposed to fit in there. I've been using it for 2 weeks now and have discovered my way to use it and it works for me. You gotta first of all turn the headset in the right position (kinad in an S shape). You stick it in microphone first and push on the top where the charger inserts until the microphone sorta pokes out the bottom. Then it stays in.
But there are still many downsides to this. If you don't have it in right (or like I have it above) it'll have the tendency to spring right out of the carrying case. Makes it handy if you want it to come out, makes it annoying the rest of the time. I've dropped my Voyager 510 countless times because of this carrying case, until I found the right way to put it in. Still, there's no example of even how to figure that out. It doesn't go in any other way very well and is otherwise pretty inconvenient to use, especially while seated. I'm an IT person that moves around a whole lot, and so having this headset is vital for me, and i love the Voyager 510. But this carrying case does not deliver. The clip is VERY tight on a belt and doesn't readjust. It's more likely to come off the belt completely. And if you attempt to adjust it, you're also probably just going to knock the headset out of the case. It will rotate as well. Also note, it's stiff to begin with, DO NOT STRETCH IT OUT.
Other uses I've found for it: it'll carry two regularly used flash drives very well and secure, it holds my ipod cuz my ipod case broke. I can fit SODIMMs into it, some sticks of gum and a wad of tissue holds well. IE, I do not recommend this product. I don't know of others out there or else I'd probably give them a try, haven't really looked. I've managed to use this but I don't have a peace of mind knowing that my headset's not going to pop out.
Not very good By A1M5OG2QVGZ2J6 on 2007-03-09
I bought this headset carrying case for my husband and he ended up losing the bluetooth within a couple of days because it fell out. I wouldn't recommend getting this product.
- Dont buy it.
     By A23VSDCI8JEXJ on 2007-01-24
I lost two headsets with this case. The first was while walking in the city, the headset fell out of the unsecured top of the case somewhere in a four block area never to be seen again. The second time I lost the case and all as there is only a flimsy clip on the back instead of a loop and it fell right off of my belt while walking to lunch. On top of it all the case doesn't adequately fit the 510 in the first place. The headset is too long and pokes out of the bottom distorting the bottom of the case or is pushed out over the small lip at the top of the case.
- Just doesn't work
     By A1PHYQP59SSCYF on 2006-12-03
I used this case for one day...it just doesn't work...the headset pops right out. Save your money!
- Bluetooth case
     By A3ALR5EH9U1XJX on 2007-01-09
The case is ok, the main thing I had a problem with is the case is not stiff enough. It will not hold its form where you can just set you bluetooth in it as traveling. You have to hold it open with one hand and insert bluetooth with the other.
- Great idea, but it doesn't deliver.
     By A1FVG2CI44KF7N on 2007-01-03
The one feature which makes this unusable is the way it spins 360-degrees. Often it will rotate upside down and the headset will fall out. I don't wear it anymore because I can't trust it to keep my headset where it belongs (off the ground). I really want to like it, but it just doesn't deliver.
- Carrying case
     By A1EIRVZ5A916P2 on 2007-01-12
This item is a little pricy for it's value, I think.
Hard to get the Bluetooth to stay in case.
- good idea but...
     By A1J6N2Z5LL8ODI on 2007-03-09
sorry to say but i never use it. it just to easy to put the Voyager 510 in my shirt pocket
- Cell phone bluethooth headset
     By ABCYRSSJC6WV7 on 2007-05-14
I am not as happy as I thought I would be with this bluetooth headset case. The case needs just a closing flap to rate 5 stars (and to prevent the headset from falling out of the case).
- Poorly designed
     By ANCA7S2G41A1R on 2007-02-14
I suppose if you just have to have a quick-draw "holster" for your headset, this will do. It has a short friction clip to hold it on your belt. But for my money, I thought it was a bit too loose on the draw. There's nothing to prevent the headset from slipping out when you bend over, or when there's pressure on the case from regular movement. The headset just pops right out. So I wouldn't buy this again.
- Works, but too expensive
     By A5GY4TDLKIP8F on 2007-02-17
It seems to not be of great quality, but as one reviewer has already mentioned if one sticks the fat end of the device through one of the holes at the bottom it rests securely in the case.
- Plantronics Voyager 510 Bluetooth Headset Case
     By A3Q7U0JD9SJXJV on 2007-04-03
Excellent case to protect your Voyager 510 Headset when not using it. The case has a belt clip that makes it convenient to hole the headset when you go into meetings, etc.or when you are not using the headset.
- Carrying Case, WHAT carrying case?
     By A3DBVZ96N8CSY9 on 2007-05-18
Though the Platntronics Voyager 510 works quite well, I was terribly disappointed with the accompanying carrying case which cost me an addtional $25! It's simply too small for the headset!
- Not Secure
     By AYXOMVT7GC52D on 2007-01-03
I wouldn't bother with this one. I'm happy with the headset itself but, the case offers little protection and it's too easy for the headset to fall out. And at that price it should be better
- Not the best quality
     By A1XR56GETFFW5S on 2007-01-10
This isn't a very good quality case, I wouldn't recommend buying it.
- Needs modification
     By A2ESJXC3CL14WC on 2007-09-27
Plantronics did design this case for easy access, too easy - it only releases the headset, it doesn't hold it. My husband loves the BT500 and can't live without a holster case for everything. This is the only case designed for this headset that I could find. He didn't have any problem figuring out how to get the headset into the case, and has no problem wearing the holster, but unmodified, the headset caught on everything and was constantly falling out or being pulled out of the holster, defeating the purpose. We eventually used sticky velcro to modify the holster, and now he's quite happy with it. One sticky square on the back, one sticky square adhered to the front - both the same side of the velcro. Then one long piece over the top that connects to the front and back squares is the configuration that worked for us. It's still easy enough to access, but the headset is now very secure in the case.
- Generic case, not specifically designed to hold earpiece/
     By A2GGSV5HA11E77 on 2007-10-17
Not particularly thrilled. A generic hard case that doesn't appear to protect the piece of equipment I bought it for. Case not shaped well for earpiece and earpiece is exposed at top of case. Earpiece falls out of case. I don't recommend this case for protecting the Plantronics Bluetooth headset.
- Very handy--keeps Voyager ready at your belt or purse
     By AGN9WL2EK2885 on 2007-01-04
If you wear your PDA or phone on your belt as I do (and why not?), this is an essential accessory. The Plantronics Voyager 510 is far and away the best Bluetooth headset, and this little baby keeps it at the ready, just like your PDA. I got one for my girlfriend, too--it fits snugly in that middle divider of her purse, so her headset doesn't get lost in the bottom of her purse with all that other stuff. Get one, you'll love it.
- I bought a plastic case.
     By A3CJ8HF1BDJA7O on 2007-01-13
I didn't know there was this case for my Plantronics 510. I got a small plastic box to put the headset in when traveling at times. This case is probably OK, but most of the time I am wearing the headset.
- Poor Fit - Bad Design
     By A1SSQBOLBDHWN2 on 2007-05-27
I purchased 2 of these cases for myself and a friend. When they arrived, I opened one and tried to place the headset inside it. It does not fit well at all and you must fold it up to get it in at all. This means unfolding it again each time you want to use it - not a big deal but a time waster. In addition, the fit is so tight that it will only take a very short amount of time before the foam cover over the ear insert will abrade away. Very poor design. It appears to be a case that is not designed for this phone but just has a sticker put over the generic name to say that it's for the 510. Additionally, it's not really a case - it's just a holster. I returned both cases and would suggest anyone else not buy them.
- not bad
     By A32SI1M4ICBB0B on 2007-07-11
the case is a litle tight, but thats good so that it wont fall out.
- Plantronics Voyager 510 - Bluetooth Headset Carrying Case
     By A3RD2EJNB7WKTM on 2007-07-25
Plantronics Voyager 510 - Bluetooth Headset Carrying CasePurchased the headset, (GREAT UNIT), never had a case for any of the other Bluetooth units I purchased, felt this was a good idea. Use it more than I though I would, wife uses hers also. (That's a first).
- First bluetooth, very happy
     By AUP48T5B7EXT0 on 2007-08-03
This is my first bluetooth, and from my uses so far I am very happy. It sits comfortably in my ear, but the blue blinking light on the side is a bit annoying. I haven't had any bad experiences as far as hearing others or being heard, except for one time when I was talking in my car to someone on their bluetooth in their car, and it there was a great deal of noise. Otherwise, no "tunnel" experiences or other problems.
- Not a useful Bluetooth headset case
     By A3U66EZ12Q1VK8 on 2007-11-08
This case is too small for the headset, especially if you use one of the earbuds. And, you have to collapse the headset to put it in. So you have to constantly readjust the setting after you take it out of the case. I think it's a poor design.
- ear piece pouch
     By A3R8P0HNWKU1LX on 2007-11-14
This is a great toy, I love how it fits my earpiece and attaches securly to my purse. I don't have to worry about buttons being pushed while it is in my purse. I love the ability to keep my ear piece safe.
- Not what I needed
     By A20SGXGWJXBCG3 on 2007-11-19
The headset fits into the case quite nicely, but it clips onto your belt. If you already have a cell phone clipped to your belt, you don't need your headset clipped there as well. You just end up looking ridiculous. I would have liked it better if it was a case that would protect the headset from being damaged while in your pocket. As you can tell, my gripe is more with the placement of the case than with its quality, which is rather decent. I just don't want to look like Batman with a utility belt.
- Its better than nothing
     By A1ZP0DVG5DU0PI on 2007-11-21
I was looking for something to hold my Voyager in the car. Clipping this case to the sunvisor does the job nicely. I don't think it would hold it too securly on your belt.
