    (7 reviews)
Best Price: $9.83
Halloween is coming, and Scary Godmother is making big plans for another spectacular spook house party! Unfortunately, Jimmy still hasn’t recovered from last year and has come up with a dastardly plan to put a stop to Halloween for good – complete with monster traps, smashed pumpkins and more! Now it’s up to his little cousin Hannah and her monster friends to put the tricks and treats back into Halloween. It’s an adventure full of wild surprises, spooky times and a whole lot of laughs. Join Scary Godmother, Bug-a-Boo, Harry the Werewolf, and more in this all-new ride to the Fright Side based on the best-selling books by Jill Thompson
With the saturated color of CG classics like Toy Story and the Halloween-themed look of A Nightmare Before Christmas, Scary Godmother, Volume 2: Revenge of Jimmy, based on Jill Thompson's books, reminds viewers that being scared can be fun. A sequel to Halloween Spooktakular, Revenge of Jimmy takes place the following Halloween, after Hannah Marie's older cousin, Jimmy, was spooked by last year's monsters. Jimmy tries to stop Halloween, to prevent monsters in Hannah's favorite realm, the Fright Side, from appearing again. On the Fright Side, however, Scary Godmother and her friends, Harry the Werewolf, Bug-a-Boo, and Mr. Pettibone (a skeleton) are planning a Halloween bash. Luckily, Hannah, who adores Scary Godmother, saves Halloween by imagining homemade solutions for Jimmy's sabotage plans. When Jimmy kicks holes into all the town's pumpkin's, Hannah transforms them into the best Jack-O-Lanterns ever, and when Jimmy cuts off the store-bought candy supply, Hannah shows viewers how to make Smores. Scary Godmother and Hannah remind kids that Halloween is about about inventing fun and visiting with friends instead of shopping. With this inspiring message, and a simpler presentation of witchcraft than Harry Potter, Revenge of Jimmy can introduce the holiday, especially since it's packed with jokes to lighten potentially frightening scenes. --Trinie Dalton

This movie is great. More fun and many more laughs. I recommend having a movie night and watching Scary Godmother Halloween Spooktacular and The Revenge of Jimmy. Both movies are now a Halloween tradtion. Great fun for all ages and even us big kids at heart. Have a Spooktacular Halloween.
Even though I am an adult, I love the Scary Gomother series! By A1PG1J5UVHBCDL on 2007-08-11
As a Halloween fan, I always tend to watch any Halloween specials that come on tv, even though I am over 30! I saw the first Scary Godmother and at first started to turn it off because I thought it was for very young children (okay I know that sounds silly since I just mentioned being 30!) but the charm of the show soon captured me. I liked that a bullied child finally got the upper hand (without being really mean or cruel back) and the humor was great without being "potty" as so many cartoons are today. I have been collecting Halloween and Christmas cartoons for years, keeping them for the future children I hope to have (and yes, for me to watch in the meantime) so I went to a store to find the first Scary Godmother DVD last year, and found this second one too. In fact, I liked this second one better the first one; they tied everything together from the first one really well. I hope that one day the creator will do more Halloween specials, maybe watching Hannah grow up. Also, a Frightside Christmas special (Bug A Boo does mention in one scene that he celebrates Christmas) would be hilarious. I truly believe that Scary Godmother is good for Halloween fans of all ages, and parents don't have to worry about anything with these two DVDs, even for very small children. If you are going to get this DVD, make sure to get Scary Godmother, Halloween Spooktacular also and watch it first! Then enjoy this spooky little tale!
Even better than the first one! By A16D0RRXGYLCVT on 2008-01-14
This is a great Halloween show for little kids. Our daughter is 3 and she loved watching it last year and this year as well. We bought it because she wanted to watch it everyday and I accidentally deleted it from our DVR. The mean kid in the end learnd his lesson and is forgiven by the others and they all enjoy a Halloween party with dancing, pizza, and candy. The CG images are colorful and entertaining. The monsters are fun and silly so it helps kids get over that "fear" thing along with Hannah, who learns that monsters aren't necessarily scary just because they look strange. We think it helped our daughter be less afraid of the dark.
