• Case Fine. Screen Protector A Little Thin...

  The case is made of a durable aluminum that gives your iPod a sturdy feel. The neoprene lining is well balanced for a nice, snug-but-not-too-tight fit. The belt clip is a nice option and functions well. Structurally, you can rest assured this piece of equipment will help protect your iPod from minor dings.
  
  The quality takes a little dip in the screen/button protection area. The "Screen Protector" the seller mentions in the title is NOT BUILT INTO THE CASE. It is, in fact, a very thin piece of clear adhesive plastic designed to stick to the front of your iPod (functioning much like self-applied stick-on car window tinting). The sticker does cover both the screen and the button wheel, that that's all the "protection" you get. To access the screen and wheel, there are simply designed cut outs of the aluminum case lid.
  
  While this is of comparable quality to many of the cases available for iPod protection, but there are some that provide shields that are built into the unit itself. If you're looking for that sort of complete protection, this product is probably not for you. However, for the current price (even including shipping), this is a very good value compared to similar units you'll find at most retail outlets, and therefore still comes recommended.

  The case itself looks nice and seems protective. However, the listing states "iPod Aluminum Hard Case for 30GB & 60GB Video WITH SCREEN PROTECTOR." There is no screen protector...unless you consider an open cutout protective.

  The case has several flaws that make it a poor option. The first has been described by several other reviewers: the screen protector is not part of the case and is very thin. The belt clip does not seem to clip well over any belts that I wear; the only thing it clips securely to is the nylon strap on my back pack. But the reason that I find it useless is that it does not stay closed: the lid pops open at the slightest jolt. It is very hard to protect something when it does not stay in the case.

  As a case my Ipod fits nicely into the aluminum trappins. Howver, I'm assuming that the sleeve of plastic adhesive that came with it, if cut to proper proportions, must be the screen protector. When I did this it seemed like adequete protection but made the screen all bubbly. That wasn't good.
  
  As there was no instruction page I'm making a leap that this is correct but who know since there were no INSTRUCTIONS!
  
  Not bad for a cheep buy, but still there are better choices out there.

  For $9 this thing rocks - I've been to lots of stores and opened lots of boxes of more expensive ones to check out different cases and this one is pretty cool. It opens easily. Headphone jack, hold button and charger are all accessible when case is on. It came with one of the clear plastic stickys for the screen and thats good enough for me. I can replace that at any time but what happens if I scratch a hard screen gaurd? I do have to say however that the color is more metallic than it appeared on Amazon. I thought it would be more pastel. I ordered purple and is hot pink. Maybe stick with black or silver unless you're open to color variation. Also the belt clip is easy to take off but it spins. I haven't used it yet so I'm not sure I like that feature. It came really fast in the mail. The rubberish material on the inside of the case is pretty cool. Makes me feel like its safe and snug in there.

• A fine metal case

  If you're in the market for a metal case for your ipod, this one should be perfectly adequate. The case does not add a lot of bulk to the ipod unlike some other cases. My ipod 60gb fit snuggly within the case so it won't rattle around, but is still easy to remove. The case comes with a removable pad that should be used with the slightly thinner 30gb model for a good fit. As stated previously, the case does not include built-in protection for the touchpad or screen. It does come with a clear adhesive sticker you can apply to the front of the ipod before placing it inside the case. My ipod is wrapped in an InvisibleShield, so I didn't apply the sticker. The case has cut-outs above for the headphone jack and the hold slider and below for attaching the usb cable. The belt clip is a removable, swivel type made of plastic. Durability of the clip may be an issue in the future. I think these belt clips are generic, so a replacement should not be hard to find. (Check your local cell phone store.)
  
  My major concern is with the latching system. There is no mechincal latch. Instead, there is only a metal tongue that slides over a bump in the case...basically, the case is held shut by friction. I suspect that if the case is severely jarred, it will most likely pop open.
  
  
• Handy-dandy for paranoid iPod users

  It's not too expensive at all, and you really get your $10 worth. The only complaint is you have to be careful not to catch the lip of the case on anything since the case will then open and drop your $300 on the hard cement...my advice: buy this and a touch of duct tape and you're ready to rock with this protector on your hip. I would NOT recommend this for jogging however, just walking.

  For ten bucks what do you expect? I needed a case and I got one. This particualar one isn't my favorite though. It doen't protect the click wheel or the screen (unless you put the clear sticker on it that they give you) and it's belt clip sucks. It is durable, and isn't too clunky. I don't mind this case, but there are better options.

  This item was packaged so well that if the iPod were in the case, it would have been well protected. I thought the case would be smooth and thin but instead, it is quite sturdy with a texture that gives it a more expensive look. Getting the iPod in and out of this case is simple and the case is not bulky as with the case I am replacing. The LCD screen protector is a must for the video iPod as you're veiwing more than just titles. This particular protector still allows crisp, clear viewing and does not scratch from cleaning. I was not aware that a belt clip was included and all though the clip seems flimsy, it has yet to malfunction. For anyone concerned about it, the piece on the back of the case is universal and will fit into any belt clip. The quality of this product is enough reason to continue shopping with MyGear so the inclusion of an additional iPod slip cover and small gift was a very pleasant surprise. The black iPod is a nice looking piece of equipment and this case adds to that as opposed to detracting. I highly recommend Amazon and MyGear as the place to shop.

  OK, for starters, i was not looking for anything fashionable. I just wanted something to protect my ipod video. i dropped already once on the tile. it survived, but I've broken many expensive items by dropping them. (yes, I'm an idiot.) I ordered the "midnight blue" case. And I think the picture on this was a little deceiving. its actually quite a bright blue! it looks like the one of the old blue ipod minis.
  next:erm, i dunno what the deal is, but there is NO screen protector, and that dissapointed me. I noticed in many of the reviews that people were complaining about that. yeah, yeah. now you're wondering, "then why'd you buy it, you moron!" i told you already, I'm an idiot. The case REALLY seems like it will protect the hardware and all if i drop it, but the fact that the screen is open to harm worries me. my last player, (a sansa) was wonderful, but after a couple years of usage, it developed a crack in the screen. not a HUGE problem, but i think i sat on it. XD even still, this ipod cost alot more than a sansa, so i hope that i'll avoid making a mistake like that again, but...whatever.
  If you are considering buying this, I don't know if my opinion means a lot to you, but please look further into this. don't make impulse purchases, I'm not saying, "Ohhhhh, man, you're gonna regret it SOOO much and wish you never bought it!!!!", I'm just saying...well...you get the picture.

  The case rocks, but I only had the thing 1.5 days before the inner workings of the belt clip BROKE OFF!!! Now I have this cool case that will not fit any other belt clip I have. It is useless to me at this point. Do NOT get this case if you plan to use it on your belt. I does NOT hold up to even a day's worth of activity.

  Very very nice case, especially for the price. Very sturdy, closes securely yet opens and closes easily for speaker dock use. My 5th gen 30GB fits snugly in the padded interior. From the sound of some of the other reviews I thought the screen protector would be like cellophane or something, but it was a nice piece of plastic, fit my screen perfectly and went on easily (wonder if it's been improved?). Just be sure to smooth out any bubbles. I also love the fact that this case is the same beautiful color as my old beloved ipod mini. Only reason I gave it four stars instead of five was the clip: I found it kind of awkward to hold the ipod with the clip on the case. It was pretty easy to remove, and the case now sits very comfortably in hand.

  I have three Black, Silver, & Gold and all stayed closed. The Screen Protector was missing on one but only needed one. Still have the one from another case. have to pop it out the case to fit in the docking station and the belt clip was a joke. I ended up going to the dollar store and getting a belt clip and some super glue to replace the belt clip on the back of the case for all three. So with shipping maybe $16 each. Still cheaper that the rubber case that I never use.

  i really love the case. my ipod is really snug in there, so i know that it won't get any scratches. i just don't like to clip on the back. it doesn't allow me to fit my ipod in the dock in my car. also, the clip doesn't stay on very well. so i just decided to take all of those things off. other than the clip, i love the ipod case. the color is wonderful. the case really protects my ipod from any scratches.

  The nice thing about this case is the ability to EASILY remove the iPod if you need to place it in an accessory that will not accommodate the unit IN the case, such as a stereo/speaker system, etc. It's VERY easy to get in and out of the case.
  
  I did find that with the 160 GB Classic iPod, however, the insert is too thick and the case won't close. This iPod is only SLIGHTLY thinner than its predecessor. I just folded a piece of blank paper 3-4 thick and inserted that behind the unit in the case to avoid "rattle". Now it's firmly set in the case.
  
  The case is quite durable and I like the film covering that goes over the screen. Be careful and read the directions carefully before applying. Once stuck it's on there, and removing it for repositioning can be quite difficult, resulting in damaging the protective cover or the screen.

  Okay product. Definitely protects IPod well. My complaint is that it doesn't provide protective space or carrier space for earbuds. If this is not an issue for you, then the product does it's job. Would advise against getting the gold color and would stick to others. The finish did not look as pictured.

  I know that those thin, rubber cases for ipods are the big thing now, but what if you drop your ipod? Were's the real protection? This hard case is a nice steardy design that snaps over the ipod itself. I would still always be careful when handling your ipod, but with this case it gives it a lot more protection the most of the leading brand name cases. Good protection at a fraction of the cost. My GF loves it.
