  • Excellent Hardware, Iffy Software

    By A3DQWFWINN3V5A on 2007-02-26
I bought this Logitech Cordless Desktop Comfort Laser to replace my Microsoft Wireless Laser Desktop 6000 (which I'd come to loathe). With the hardware, I'm very satisfied. The keyboard is a nice ergonomic version which I'd grown used to from my long-ago Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro. It's got a nice typing feel (not too hard, not too soft) and I've had no problems with it (the keyboard in the Microsoft Desktop 6000 dropped keystrokes). The only negatives I can come up with for the keyboard are that the space bar makes a bit of a clanking sound (which I probably wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't read about it here) and the palm rest does show the location of your hands from the oil residue (trivial really). The mouse is very comfortable and I've had no problems with it at all.

Where I have had problems is with the Logitech Setpoint 3.3 software. I'm using Vista, so since it's so new, that might be the issue (though the Logitech forums indicate the XP version has similar problems). In my case, even though the software loaded without trouble, I sometimes couldn't open the Setpoint program. It would basically hang when I attempted it. I also was getting no mouse status from the Logitech icon (keyboard status, yes -- mouse status, no). The forums indicate there's also a problem with the Secure Connect hotkey of CTRL-SHIFT (it conflicts with quite a few important keystrokes in Vista and applications) and with multiple keystrokes generating spurious letters. Because Setpoint was hanging on my system, I just uninstalled it and am running on the native Vista drivers (again, without problem). Without Setpoint, I'm lacking some features. But, I rarely use those things, anyway.

So, overall, I give the hardware an Excellent rating of 5 stars out of 5. However, because of the problems with the Setpoint 3.3 software, I'm subtracting 1 star. Still, that leaves an overall Very Good rating of 4 stars out of 5. Recommended.

  • Happy with the purchase

    By A2QO9C68XC4MNG on 2006-08-09
Overall, I am pleased with the purchase of this keyboard and mouse. One of my biggest concerns was being able to find a keyboard that had keys that weren't too difficult to press down. I went to a local store and tried typing on the Microsoft Natural Ergo Keyboard 4000, and found that the spacebar was unbelievably stiff. Plus the keys didn't seem spaced well to me. They did not have the Logitech ergonomic keyboard there, but Logitech does have a tendency to make keyboards with lighter keys which is why I took a chance on this one. I was not disappointed. The keys have a perfect amount of resistance (not a lot). The keys make a soft clicking sound, but the space bar makes a much louder click, which could be annoying for anyone who hates noise while typing. I think the keys are perfectly spaced apart for me (medium sized hands), and the wrist rest is made of a soft material which is nice support. There are two sets of feet on the bottom of the keyboard. Two large ones on the bottom of the keyboard and two small ones on the bottom of the wrist rest. Something which could cause concern for others is the fact that the "home" and "end" keys have been shifted in order to make a more condensed keyboard. There are 4 preset buttons at the top of the keyboard which can be used to quickly open a folder or website of choice and this is a nice feature. The mouse is an extremely nice mouse. It curves nicely to the hand and has some extra buttons which are placed well. When I called Logitech's customer support and asked what the difference was between this keyboard and the keyboard in the Logitech Cordless Comfort Duo (as they look the same) she said that this keyboard is better made. What that means specifically, I am not sure. I do know I read a review for the other one about the feet on the bottom of the keyboard not being very sturdy, and the feet on my keyboard seem fine. So, perhaps that is the issue. Anyway, my hands are just flying across this keyboard with ease, and I am quite happy with it. I gave it one less star for the noise of the space bar (which I am already used to) and the fact that after shipping costs I almost paid $100 for it. Probably about 15 - 20 dollars more than I would have liked to pay for it. The keyboard and mouse also look sharp.

  • Keyboard unusable, mouse OK

    By A1VYJGD19NUQJM on 2006-08-09
Note that a Logitech tech support person said the keyboard in this pkg is the same as in their Comfort Duo so you could look there for keyboard comments. This pkg has a laser mouse rather than just optical (whatever that means).

Anyways, like a few other Duo keyboard commenters my keyboard had a noisy click when pressing the space bar on either side. Being a touch typist this is my natural spot. The click was quite loud. A 45 minute call with tech support had me removing it, inspecting it, and re-installing it - all to no avail. She also very kindly explained the design and said some units may suffer from this but it might be worth trying another unit. I decided I'd invested enough time already and returned it.

Other than the clicking the keybd was OK. Never missed a stroke and I noticed no delays. I've used a MS full-size Natural keybd for a number of years. The Logitech one is not as large. My elbows ended up tighter to my body and I'm not sure that would be as comfortable over time. Some of the keys were smaller and more tightly packed - this was annoying at first to be sure but would probably improve over time. Although inherently there is less space around different groups (function keys, cursor control, etc) and that made it more difficult to "feel" my way around - hmmm.

The mouse seemed adequate although didn't impress. It moved much too fast but slowing it down in Control Panel Mouse settings solved that. Oddly though the setting kept returning to the default after rebooting. This seemed odd and I may have figured it out eventually but it happened several times.

Even slowed down one thing did bother me and that was the lag after it "rested". I'm assuming it shuts itself off partially after a certain period of non-use to conserve battery power. The first movement after that period is a noticable lag. Other than this though it seemed fine - although I really didn't use it long. Because of the keyboard problem I returned the whole thing after 1 day.

One more thing I noticed and didn't like was the front extended wrist rest on the keyboard. It was comfortable and provided legs to tilt the keyboard away from me which I liked. However, my skin is oily and even after one day I could see discoloration on the wrist rest. I can't imagine what it would look like after months of use.

I really wanted to like this package - but I just don't.

  • Great keyboard but the mouse boarders on unusable

    By A2B26I3DGUSMB0 on 2006-10-06
The keyboard in this set lives up to the hipe. I would have paid more and still been happy with it. It feels as though it was modified for my hands. The keys are almost silent. The only complaint I had was that the right shift key is much smaller that on most keyboards making it easy to miss.

The Logitech MX 600 laser mouse is a different story. It boarders on unusable. Actually the only way I could get it to work was to use it on top of one of my O'Reilly books. The angle that creates made my wrist hurt after a while. If this mouse is so sensitive as to require a special surface then Logitech should include a mouse pad that has a surface it can work with.

I tried several mouse pads, and no mouse pad at all. On any surface but my O'Reilly books it is extremely jerky, or just does not respond at all.

Compare all of that to the $10 LED mouse I was using before. It worked on every surface I used, and did not require any mouse pad at all.

The mouse turned out to be such a problem I eventually had to return the set as I could not take it any more.

  • Great Mouse & Keyboard Combo - an upgrade from Comfort Duo

    By A39ACG3BWYKB5P on 2007-01-03
After having the Logitech Comfort Duo (ergo keyboard & optical mouse) for a few years and being very happy with it, I was excited about this upgrade, despite some of the lackluster reviews for this product on Amazon.

The laser mouse is superb- perfectly ergonomic, a useful array of buttons (plus vert/side-scrolling scroll wheel too), and it tracks noticeably more accurate & responsive than the Logitech optical that came with the Comfort Duo. I am using the mouse on a textured (fabric) black mousepad with gel support... I am not sure what the reviewer who had to use the book was encountering. Maybe using the mouse on a glossy surface or something? The mouse works equally well on the laminate surface of my desk, too. I am not sure how the laser technology works, but it amazingly doesn't seem to emit any sort of light as did the optical- I would think it uses less battery power. There is a useful battery indicator light on the mouse that I'm assuming will light when the battery is low.

The keyboard, while the design and functionality are virtually identical to the Comfort Duo keyboard (as another reviewer noted), I happen to like the new rubbery hand rest, and I don't think it gets greasy any more than the old plastic surface on the Comfort Duo handrest. I've been using it for a week and can't really see much of anything- unless I angle it towards the light.

Overall, I gave it 5 stars. 4.5 might have been a little more accurate, because the keyboard is indeed not silent (though no noisier than most, and exactly what I am used to having used the Comfort Duo). I still highly recommend this to anyone looking for wireless freedom, who prefers an ergonomic keyboard and mouse.

  • Better than the MS equivalent
    By A2IKQ5K5T3VBJ on 2007-02-14
For a wireless keyboard, I've been incredibly impressed with Logitech's offerings. While I fell fondly in love with the ergo MS keyboard, since they first released their wired version wayyyy back when, their technology has largely remained "static" (e.g, they innovate like pondwater moves).

Logitech, on the other hand, even with the occasional quirk, has impressed the heck out of me.

I'm writing from this particular keyboard at the moment, and with no drivers installed, it friggen flies. Even with the sometimes glitchy drivers, it still flew. Unlike some of Logitech's other products in this price range, this comes with a USB cable-based receiver, rather than the dongle (which I'd prefer) On the other hand, I've moved the wireless receiver as far away from the PC as possible, next to the phone, for weeks it's been happily sitting smack on top of the PSU on my PC - with no interference problems at all.

Logitech even goes so far as to include a "locked" (coded mode) secure trasmission (if you install the drivers), sorta like setting up a bluetooth device, just easier. I've found it runs fine without the drivers - particularly this model, which doesn't have many extra special function keys (the calculator, media player controls both work without drivers - only if you wish to use non-MS warez, or the 4 preset buttons, would you need the drivers (or if you want an on-screen display of your caps status - if your receiver is stashed).

It is a joy to work on, for writing. If you're not comfy with split keyboards, this is not for you. Try it on for size at a local store. It does help me "keep it up longer" (my fingers), but at the same time, it's a bit awkward moving from platform to platform, straight keyboards to ergonomic... short "relearning" curve each time. While this has been ok for gaming, I'd not take it into multi-player mode due to lack of mouse precision and that slight lag that all wireless models have.

Speaking of the mouse, it eats batteries like candy. I'm still on the same set of keyboard batteries that came with it two months ago, but the mouse has already been thru 6 AA's in the same timespan. Not quite sure why that is - I know the drivers never accurately reported the battery state (there were two states, full green, and replace now) - and it would go from ok to replace in moments - not quite perfect, as I said. I suspect some of the power management is in the drivers, as the battery charge state (on the mouse) does not light up without the drivers installed.

Other things I like about it - USB or PS2, keys that click when I tap them, full size F keys.

Besides the battery issue, the only other issue I've noticed is the letter paint has worn off on some of the keys already, across the board - not good. Although I am a touch typist, I would expect a bit more quality - this thing is only 2 months in service, after all.

  • the best keyboard I've tried
    By A1UU7KQDN1UQ9B on 2007-02-15

I bought this to replace my old Logitech Cordless Comfort Duo (w/c was still working, but I thought it would be simpler to buy a replacement than clean years' worth of grime).

Logitech did not disappoint. The comfortable split-keyboard is still the same design as their old version, with buttons that can be preset and a calculator key added.

The mouse is what's different. It's lighter, and its sleeker form is ergonomically better for your hand. Technically, it's a laser mouse not an optical mouse. I wouldn't be able to tell the difference; it works just as well. The new mouse does now have a useful battery-power indicator on top and a connect button underneath. There are new buttons on top for zooming in and out and returning to a 100% view and also a new button on the side for going forward to the next page on your screen, in addition to the old button they had for going back to the previous page.

It's the best combination of split keyboard and mouse I've ever used. The only thing holding me back from giving it five stars is the tilt wheel. It interferes with my being able to press down quickly and surely on the middle button. But that's just me. You may have a better appreciation of the ability it gives you to scroll horizontally.

  • Logitech Cordless Keyboard&Mouse
    By A1W0BZXZNHQZ5T on 2007-03-08
I bought this product particularly for its ergonomic keyboard, as I had some wrist pain. The keyboard is very comfortable, although it takes some time to get used to it (I've never used an ergonomic keyboard before this). Except a quite small shift key on the right side, I didn't have any problem to get used to it. The keys are neither too hard nor too soft, and the shortcut keys are also useful once you get used to them. The mouse is really great too - it's shape fits your hand well, and the shortcuts buttons for internet are really useful. In general, I'm quite happy with my purchase.

  • Kick Ass
    By A3Q1084TLDT4TM on 2007-02-16
I really liked the feel of this keyboard as well as the ease of use for someone who had not really used an ergo wireless keyboard before. And it is cat proof.

  • last wireless combo you'll ever buy
    By A2EIF78FEUQ4OE on 2007-03-28
well i buy a lot of stuff and i've never bothered to write a review, but I was compelled to for this, because it was so good. I'm a IT geek by day and night and have used a lot of keyboards/mice (wireless and not) and this is by far the best. Feels great, looks great and works great. If you've used crappy MS wireless and are used to dropped keystrokes, don't worry about that here. Super comfortable for those 12 hrs days. And only $80??? if your reading this and not sure, buy it!

  • pleased
    By A2G54F4DDRCFXW on 2007-03-13
Being technically challenged this product was relatively easy to install and ergonomically fits my body/hands better than other keyboards. Now I am able to not be 'chained' to the computer tower with cords constantly in the way.

  • logitech keyboard
    By A2FYHN0X9A4IWU on 2007-08-13
This keyboard works great, is comfortable, and is even better than my old one, because it is cordless. It was necessary to replace the first(new)one sent when one of the keys collapsed after just 2 days, but amazon.com's service was amazing. One quick phone call was all that was needed to have another sent. The first was easily returned at no charge.
    Thank you!

  • Great split keyboard, but mouse quit working
    By A3ROZFDOGCE73D on 2008-03-12
After using Microsoft ergonomic split keyboards for the last 15 years, I was searching for a new split keyboard for my new Vista system. Since there aren't so many split keyboards to choose from, I decided to give Logitech a try, even though I did not really want a cordless keyboard or mouse.

Unfortunately, I had to return this set after only 12 days of light use.

I had no problems installing the devices. I plugged them in, placed the receiver between my monitor and keyboard, and started the computer. Windows recognized the keyboard and mouse right away, and both worked fine without the need of installing any of the Logitech drivers/software on my Vista Home Premium system (except some of the special functions, of course).

The keyboard was wonderful. Great positioning of the keys, great feedback with just enough softness and resistance, great overall size, and it never missed a keystroke. I was able to touch-type faster than ever on this keyboard from day one. I would have given 5 stars to the keyboard alone, and wish it was an option to purchase it without the mouse. I also wish it was available as a corded device instead of just wireless. I still mourn this keyboard, as I really loved it.

The mouse was another story... The shape was perfect for my hand, but that's about it. Having never used a wireless mouse before, I could definitely tell there was a tiny bit of lag in reacting to my hand movements, especially after the mouse hadn't been used for a while. This wasn't too much of a problem though -- I thought I'd get used to it. What I did have a problem with is that the mouse cursor was not moving quite as accurately as I was used to, particularly when precise slow movements were needed (as when trying to resize a window, or drawing). Still, I thought I'd get used to it...

Less than two days after using this mouse, it turned itself off. I tried to turn it back on several times, but the LED at the bottom wouldn't light back up. I thought, okay, the batteries that came with the set must have been old and they're dead already. So I placed new batteries in the mouse and it turned back on right away.
The very next day, the same thing happened again! The mouse turned itself off! Now, surely, it wasn't a battery problem, as I had just changed them the day before. I tried several times to turn the mouse back on to no avail... I went to search for new batteries and, when I came back a few moments later, the mouse did turn back on with the same batteries still in. Okaaaay...
The mouse worked for another 9 days with no further weirdnesses, up until one day, I turned my computer on, and the mouse was basically dead. The cursor wouldn't move, the buttons wouldn't work... I tried to turn it back on: nothing (the green LED at the bottom again wouldn't stay lit, as if the batteries were dead). I tried restarting my computer, unplugging/replugging it, changing the batteries again, reconnecting with the receiver: absolutely nothing worked, the mouse would not turn back on at all.

I loved the keyboard so much, I considred keeping the set for the keyboard alone but, having paid $99 for it, I thought it was a bit much for just a keyboard that may follow the mouse's fate sooner or later. So I returned the set to the store and bought a corded Microsoft Natural Ergo Keyboard 4000 (not quite as good as this Logitech -- see my review) and a corded Logitech MX400 laser mouse (so far so good).

So my review is split (no pun intended): 5 stars for the keyboard, and 0 for the mouse, so I averaged it to 3 stars. I'll probably never buy another wireless device in the future, as they're not quite as responsive and reliable as their corded counterparts in my opinion (and no need to worry about changing batteries all the time).

  • Logitech always the best
    By AG0JC0Y549I7F on 2007-01-19
Awesome some key board, have always liked Logitech over Microsoft key boards, the Logitech wireless works far better then the Microsoft.

  • Logitech Cordless Desktop Comfort Laser
    By AF77S3WAA8RV0 on 2007-02-09
Excellent product. I was looking for a wireless ergonomics keyboard and mouse to eliminate the scraggly hanging wires from my desk which will fit in well with my wireless networking. I searched for this model since my wife has it also, though, this is a newer model than what she has. The setup was simple and fast. I can use the mouse or keyboard on my lap, on the desk, on the pullout shelf of the desk or anywhere without the hassles of wires. I have yet to see a flaw with this system. It works as if they are wired direct. No delays at all. I highly recommend it.

  • Great product!
    By A31V5E1J0T5201 on 2007-02-15
I've had it a few weeks now & haven't had any problems.

I did notice that in certain spots, the spacebar is noisy, but mostly only because the other reviewers thought it was a problem. In my general use, I don't realize it at all!

  • Better the second time
    By A209HDBAUCX5JU on 2007-03-13
The first time I bought this product I had to send it back. The whole set of letter keys on the right side of the keyboard would randomly stop working. But now i've had the second one (sent by Amazon at no extra charge as a replacement) for a month and it's been working great. Decently lightweight, has an excellent feel and nice software. The mouse is good too. Only issue i've had is that to present the keys besides left and right click you must assign letters to them, i.e. for gaming the side keys are the "-" and "=" symbol instead of just foward and back like my other mouse. All and all would review as a good product, even after the inital frustration and hassle. Would suggest to others, much better than the Microsoft one I bought beforehand. Hope this helps you decide!

Not the keyboard one expects from Logitech. The keys are hard to press and the setup was not what I expected from a $80.00 keyboard. The keyboard was returned to Amazon (Great customer service from Amazon by the way) and hopefully I will be ordering the Logitech diNovo.

Very happy with the product. Exactly what I had hoped for, ease of use without the fatigue to the hands. Perfect placement for me without the clutter of cords.

  • Best buy since I bought the computer.
    By A3FZVXFBMHRB9P on 2007-05-06
The cordless keyboard and mouse work as described. Love the touch and love the moveability of they're being cordless. Highly recommend. In fact, I bought a Logitech cordless mouse for myself to use at work I liked it so much.

This keyboard and mouse are just great!! My elbow stopped hurting and I just love this thing! The features are just awesome and the price was decent. I really am happy with my purchase.

This is the second Logitech keyboard and I prefer it to the Microsoft like product which I use in my workplace. It has everything I need to be comfortable when I type which is all the time. I like the cordless system and this works for me.

  • Great Ergonomic Keyboard
    By AXSAMMH4QNJ1M on 2007-05-17
As far as ergonomic keyboards go, this one is the best by far. The keys are lighter and easier to press then the rest and logitic knows how to make a keyboard. Highly recommend this product.

    By A36RYGHAWW67JI on 2007-07-22
I have been extensively searching for a good keyboard, because I type 8 hours a day. I tried the Microsoft 4000, but the sticky space bar forced me to return it to Staples. I have to say that I am a bit picky, but the Logitech Cordless Comfort really impressed me in several ways:

    1. Very comfortable keys, especially the space bar key.
    2. Easy to setup, although it requires you to shut down the computer twice. no big deal.
    3. The keyboard is quiet.
    4. the mouse is actually better than the logitech MX500 that I am very fond of. I like the design that there are two functions on the wheel, and they are programmable!

    Things to improve:
    1. more programmable buttons on the keyboard. There are only 4, and I hope more.
    2. move the "home" and "end" key closer to the arrow keys. Maybe they are just my own preferences.

OVerall, very happy with the keyboard and a pleasant surprise with the mouse!

    Gordon

  • The perfect keyboard
    By A1NU3EE7HW9L8H on 2007-07-25
I went through 5 keyboards before finding this one. I can't find it in any stores, but found it on amazon!

This beats the Microsoft Natural hands down. The keys feel much better when pressed. The space bar isn't really "tight" feeling like it is on the MS Natural. The mouse is also very nice.

I haven't had any problems with connectivity or dropped keystrokes as long as I keep the hub for this keyboard and mouse somewhat close. However, it is a hub with a long cord for a reason. I find that the further I move away, the more missed keystrokes I get. I think people are simply misunderstanding what the cordless feature is for... It's not so you can walk around your home typing and using your mouse... it's not WiFi. It's simply to help get rid of the clutter unnecessary cables. Keep the hub less than 1 or 2 feet from the keyboard and mouse and you'll be fine. This shouldn't be too hard with a typical computer desk where the actual unit is almost always less than 1 or 2 feet away for easy access.

  • Good value keyboard & mouse
    By AMECXHREA9I60 on 2007-07-27
    The Keyboard:
I got this for my wife's home computer, after she learned to love ergonomic keyboards by having one at work. Despite her iMac (Intel Core Duo) having Bluetooth built in, a separate receiver that connects to a USB port, and ties it up, is required. Setup was otherwise simple and no problems with connectivity for the keyboard and mouse. She likes the keyboard, as she's had one before, but when I use it (very infrequently), I feel a bit clumsy at first due to the much different placement of the keys than my desktop Mac's (Apple) standard keyboard. My wife's only (mild) complaint about the keyboard is that it sounds a bit tinny-plasticy, and she is very sensitive to key tapping and other sounds. It sounds a bit cheaper than my keyboard, but I do not find it as annoying as she does. This is the main reason why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5, the other because of the need to have a separate receiver instead of using the Mac's built in Bluetooth. Her much greater regret is she no longer has the original ergonomic keyboard she had at work and is lobbying to get the Logitech for her work computer too.

    The Mouse:
My wife had a wireless Microsoft mouse prior to this keyboard, and liked it. She's replaced the Microsoft mouse with the Logitech mouse, as she says it is "better". How, I don't know, but she says "It feels and works better". Your experience may vary, but I doubt you will be disappointed by the cost or value you get with the Logitech Cordless keyboard and mouse!

  • Heavy Mouse run on 2AAA Batteries.
    By A1VQ58BPJC7PF2 on 2007-08-12
Great keyboard. Great Mouse shape allow for hand to be in natural shape. For ultimate mouse wrist comfort, should get mouse pad with Raised Wrist Pad. One unexpected bad thing is the 2 AAA batteries added a lot of weight to the mouse that is cordless. Would that counter the ergonomic effect of other mouse features? Who knows?!

  • Great combo!
    By A1DX12E7TWXB4U on 2007-10-05
I used to have a Microsoft keyboard with the natural split and this keyboard blows away the Microsoft version which is about twice the cost. The shortcut keys on this thing actually work, unlike the Microsoft version! Not only that, they are further programmable through Logitech's SetPoint software. The wristrest is very comfortable and it even has some extra, handy, buttons that you woudln't get with other keyboards, such as a calculator button. The mouse is exceptional and even more programmable. Unfortunately, I already have Logitech's MX Revolution mouse, which is also amazing. I use a similar Logitech setup at work and thus far I haven't found any significant problems to throw them out.

Overall, this set is the set to have if you wanted a split keyboard. The only drawback is that it's a bit tall, so if you want to type without pulling the keyboard drawer out, you might want to look toward getting the DiNovo set. I don't think I'd wander far from Logitech products and I definitely won't go with another Microsoft set in this lifetime.

  • Died after 4 months

It worked great for about four months. Then it started missing keystrokes. Then more keystrokes. Then the mouse died. Replacing batteries and rebooting had no effect. Now I have fodder for the landfill and my wallet is much lighter. BUYER BEWARE.

  • Great keyboard. Mouse has poor battery life.

pros: (1) both keyboard and mouse have ergonomic design. (2) both are very responsive with no lag whatsoever. (3) laser mouse is smooth as butter. (4) 5 yr warranty gives me a peace of mind on my investment. (5) when you standby or shut down your pc - the mouse and keyboard will also power down to save battery life. (6) the desktop is usb plug and play without needing any drivers / software. (7) the new version of logitech setpoint is very easy to use

cons: (1) mouse battery life is poor. this is the deal breaker. the battery slot has space for 2 AAs but even if you put in only 1 AA battery - the mouse will work fine. battery life is 1-3 weeks per battery depending on the quality of the battery e.g. dollar store vs expensive duracell. to clarify, this is an issue only for the mouse. the keyboard has good battery life.(2) mouse is heavy with two AA batteries. i too laughed at a review for saying this but after 8 hrs of daily use i also agreed. (3) the media buttons of the keyboard are very small. (4) a total of 9 keys e.g. insert, delete, page up / down, print screen etc are unconventionally placed. (5) the right shift button is very small. (6) lights for the caps lock, num lock etc are not on the keyboard itself but on the usb plug in.

other thoughts: i replaced the mouse from this set with a wired mouse. i'm unhappy with spending $80 for just a keyboard. i'm sure many of you guys just HAVE to have wireless, otherwise i'd recommend sticking with wired desktop set for now. wireless desktops still need a few years to improve. some have lagging issues while others like this have poor battery life (mouse). i would change my star rating to 3/5 but amazon won't let me. definitely good to invest in ergonomic products that you use everyday. this product isn't worth $80. only consider it if amazon gives a nice discount on a new set.
