Good workout, too enthusiastic instructor :-l By A24ZFFRQ4MG3XL on 2006-08-19
Denise Austin really is a good instructor. The only problem I have with her is that she is a little over the top enthusiastic and talks a little too much and isn't always in time to the music or with her own counting.
This workout is good. There are four mix and match segments: core and upper body, core and legs, core and butt, and core and full body (which is made up from the other three segments). This way it's easy not to get bored. You use weights and a stability ball and you can always choose the level that's best for you. She makes it easy to find modifications.
If you want a good workout that is fun to do, go out and get this, but just be aware that somedays, you will need to turn the sound down.
Good Body Sculpting Workout with the Stability Ball By AR5RYQBKKC1UT on 2006-10-20
This DVD has a 5 min. warm-up, three 15 min. sections: core/upper body, core/buns and core/legs, and an 18 min. total body segment consisting of exercises taken from the other 3 sections. You can select each workout individually or customize your workout and have the segments play in any order you choose. If you do core/buns and core/legs, you'll get a great workout for the lower body and abs. Those sections offer a wide variety of effective exercises. In core/buns you'll alternate between lunges and squats with dumbells and stability ball exercises. In core/legs you'll use your own body weight and work the outer and inner thighs and abs. For most of the ab routines Denise shows different levels of intensity. I wasn't crazy about the core/upper body section because it only has about 4 min. of upper body work. I think the workout would have been better with a separate core section. I also wish there was a stretch section. It didn't bother me to alternate between body parts. Denise's cuing is fine and she doesn't move too fast. Overall I was pleased with my purchase. If you liked Shrink Your Female Fat Zones you'll like this workout. This video has some of the same exercises; but I think this video is better.
Best body I have ever owned! By A1L66S9S7GY5YR on 2007-02-27
...And I am no longer in my 20's...
I use this DVD workout 2-3 times a week, and I have not only met my challenge to myself (which was to look like I did in a bikini photo on my honeymoon 11 years ago), but I have surpassed it. Why? Because now I am fit and toned, then I was justly nicely slim.
My advice is to ignore Denise's often objectionable voice and do the workout! Once I memorized the routine, I put music on and keep her track just loud enough for cuing. You can mix-and-match, but I prefer to go through the 5-min warm-up and each of the 15-min segments in one go.
Another good option is to run or do other cardio and finish with her 18 minute superset segment.
The workout is best for intermediate and above, but her reps are low, and there are often a selection of levels to keep you as easy or challenged as you want to be.
As a last testament to this workout I will say this:
After working with her DVD for three months I went to Maui and wore small bikinis nearly all week and never felt self conscious. At the time I was a size 10 (ah, I'm even smaller now!) but I was fit and firm and...
THANK YOU DENISE AUSTIN!
She really does know the best workouts and all I had to do was follow them.
Video Exerciser By A2JCBD5FK83MA on 2006-09-12
I have used Denise's videos/DVDs for years. This is one of the best. I have been waiting for a Denise workout that uses more stability ball! The exercises are challenging, yet simple to do. These workouts seem good for beginners, as well as, those who are already fit. If you like Denise, I highly recommend this DVD.
DAYAMNNN By A3L535TLGKOVSA on 2007-05-20
this dvd is sooo good!! how does this woman come up with these creative moves with the ball. i am now an experienced denise austin dvd exerciser and this one totally rocks. i feel so tight and toned. it's very core intensive but definitely focuses on buns, arms and legs and getting them toned. i dont mind doing the same move twice. as for her enthusiasm, i think it's awesome. i have a very expensive gym membership and never go, but i keep coming back to denise austin's dvds becaues she gets me going. i put on my favorite dance cd while i do it. i think the buns section was the best buns work out ive found!
you will need an exercise ball, light dumbbells, a matt and wear sneakers.
i also want to add that this dvd unlike others does require a little bit of space so be prepared to move over your coffee table. you will need a lot of balance but dont be discouraged if u can't get it the first time!
- Good Workout
     By A2CEXT99ZOY5A7 on 2006-12-14
Ok, Denise IS chatty but, she does know her stuff. And this DVD like her Shrink your Female Fat Zones, is very good at working out your entire body. I really like the ball exercises, it's not too exhausting, but you definitely feel it the next day!!!
- My favorite workout from Denise
     By AQ3EGD57S8QJC on 2007-03-14
I would say-this is the workout for fast results. It doesn't seem to be that hard while you are working out, but your body can feel it even in an hour. If you need to get toned fast-get this DVD.
- GREAT WORKOUT!
     By A2S1WZW0Z2LJUD on 2007-04-19
The workouts are simple yet challenging, and as a beginner with the stability ball I found her explanations and movements easy to follow. The video incorporates floor and standing excercises along with crunchs on the ball and the use of weights. Some of the movements can be difficult if your just starting out, but its well worth it . After my first try with the video I could barely walk the next day, its a good buy!

It is a diverse tape. Challenging enough to hold my interest. I have bought many Denise Austin tapes and this one is a great addition.
- This is a good choice
     By A1QEDJ0VBLDT2A on 2007-01-17
If you own a stability ball and want to get more use out of it (as I did), then this DVD is perfect. In fact, I had been hoping that Denise would come out with a complete workout using the stability ball, so my wish came true! I've only had this for about two weeks and I'm already seeing and feeling some nice results.
- Challenging core workout
     By A3T8GPLF8LKT2X on 2007-06-11
I love this DVD, it is divided into four parts that you can customize according to your schedule and fitness level. I really like this DVD becuse it works every part of your body and becuse you are using the satability ball you strenght even more your core. Also, when I'm doing reps for the abs it makes me stop because they are really challlenging, it will take me a while to follow the reps, but I will stick to it, until I get better. I'm give Denise a 5 starts I love it!!!!!!!
- Great Work Out! One of the Best one's out their!
     By A2Z9G0MQ9MANW5 on 2007-09-06
I love this work out!! I have a lot of Denise workout DVD's & a lot of others. I think this is her/the best one yet. I love that she works the abs in every 15 minute segment (who doesn't need the extra attention in that area!). I'm not a person that enjoys working my abs, but this tape makes it fun. There are a lot of ab exercises on here that I actually enjoy doing. I like that you're able to customize your work-out. You can do the whole workout or you can do just 1 or 2. I would highly recommend this DVD for immediate workouts. It takes a while to get on the same pace as Denise, but after you do you appreciate it. Some tapes have long pauses in between sets. I like to keep moving!
- Great workout
     By AAPYU8QO78HQD on 2007-03-15
as always, can only say the music isn't great. The moves are challenging though.
- the best workout
     By A2U9AYNMYTIBB1 on 2007-03-31
This is the best video I have ever purchased. I workout at least 5 times per week and this video is awesome! It's a true "total body" workout. There are 2 - 20 minute workouts available. I usually do them both back to back for an intense workout, but if I don't have much time I just do the 20. I feel so good after doing it, very motivating.
- great just like all of Denise's stuff
     By A3813Q44F0ED2 on 2007-04-14
I love this dvd because it targets all problem zones in a very strong way, but also in a way that does not take you to exhaustion, which means you will keep consistent!
- Very good video
     By AUZBOW4GF9GUP on 2007-05-27
I work in a field where I have access to personal trainers and physical therapists. I had two of them watch this video and they said it was very well done. There were a few exercises (2) that seemed out of place to them, but other that they liked it. I've worked out to the video a few times and I've enjoyed it. You will get a good work out if you use proper technique.
- Good workout without dripping sweat
     By A1K3PYBAR3SCUF on 2007-05-30
This video is good addition to my collection. Denise is a little more subdued in this video (not crazy and wild-eyed like she is in the boot camp video). As always, she delivers an inense workout that not only works your core, but also other parts of your body. Even though you are working hard you are not out of breath and drenched.

This was my first Denise Austin workout video and I was annoyed with her within the first 10- seconds of the workout. I couldn't stand her voice or facial expressions, she was like a robot. Also, I did all the sections of the dvd and I found it to be ineffective as far as toning goes. I never really felt anything. I don't think I'll be using this tape again or buying another Denise Austin tape. It might be good for beginners, though. I would only recommend this to those who already own other Denise Austin tapes and aren't turned off by her excesssive encouragement or voice.
- Not the Same Old
     By A3QGO6RE1FOMCK on 2007-01-20
Every segment has a core component so like the title suggests, you get a good core workout. The leg and bun workouts are just as good, not so much for the arms since it's too short. I suggest using heavier weights for the arms. I only use 5 lbs. since that's all I have. The dvd adds variety to your other workouts, especially for the times when you do not feel like getting off the couch; upon completion, you feel great because you have accomplished something.
- Love it!
     By A11TH7FRVORM1H on 2007-05-15
I'm using this video to get toned for my summer wedding. The short 18-minute workouts are great for mornings before work, and I'm already seeing changes. Plus, Austin is bubbly and encouraging, which helps!
- BEST ONE YET
     By A1FHZ6DGL37YRG on 2007-07-06
Easy to follow and really gets "my sweat on". Easy to follow and has a lot of the same moves you use in Shrink Your Female Fat Zones DVD. Denise has it broke down into Warm up, Core & Arms, Core & Legs, Core & Buns, and an 18 minute Core Complete. The other Core sessions are 15 minutes each. I enjoy doing a combination of 2 of the core sessions.
- Definite Core Workout...
     By A1A2FRILCVU321 on 2008-03-22
I had high hopes for this workout but it is definitely more of a core workout. The upperbody workout spent about 5 minutes working the arms and the rest was core while the legs and buns spent an adequate amount of time working those specific muscles.
I am glad I did not spend money on this and rented it from the library because it was not worth my money.

When I ordered this product,I failed to realize that you needed the stability ball in order to do the dvd. I did not want that type of workout, so wanted to return it. I still have the dvd, as Amazon has been HORRIBLE with their customer service and the return!!! I had problems with the return information on the internet, so contacted cust. svc. - they have repeatedly said the only way I can return the dvd is by a return label that they will mail to me immediately. It's been well over a month and I still have no return label, after contacting cust svc. multiple times. No more ordering via Amazon for me.

- This does hit the spot!
     By A1HWEQXLRIA5V2 on 2008-02-23
I recently received this video and have done the workouts twice, and at first I didn't feel like I was working very hard, but my body said different in the morning! I think this is a good workout if you are short on time. And I know people think Denise is nuts, but I think she's funny and she keeps you motivated while you work :)
- I can really feel it
     By AMI4ESZYCKVO0 on 2008-04-10
Great workout. Denise is a bit perky, but she gets the job done and I enjoy most of her videos. She keeps me motivated throughout. I would like to see her use people in her videos that aren't quite as stick thin as she is.
- Denise Austin is Great, and very DO-ABLE for a beginner
     By A28UMXXHX8X2R6 on 2008-07-20
Denises Hit the Spot- Core Complete is great. She is encouraging, and does routines that are good for a beginner. She moves a little fast, during changes, but she always supplies the participant with easier or more difficult challanges for most exercises. I could really feel this in my core, as well as my extremities. It really irritates me when others complain about her voice, and if you have never heard her talk before, she is squeaky, and horse sounding at times, but she is so positive and explains every detail of her moves. I do not know how anyone could complain about her, except that maybe they are just too picky or cranky or something. She has a great body, and has been a guru at being fit since forever...and it shows in her DVD's. Thanks Denise!

This was fun and definetly a challenge. I would recommend it to anyone who is not a beginner, but you don't have to be intermediate either. It is a lot of fun and you feel good after it's over. I also like the fact that you can choose which workout you want or do them all.
