  • Exceptional Protection

    By A402IK8HX9SBN on 2007-04-04
As someone who enjoys purchasing techy toys, I'm always searching for effective ways to carry and protect them, and this product does an exceptional job of protecting my Sansa. Unlike many tech toys where the available protection/carrying options are either very limited, not very well thought out or not very effective, this one provided me with a great selection of options that really do a great job.

SCREEN PROTECTOR - Comes with a self adhesive transparent anti-scratch "thingy" (screen) which sticks to the front of the Sansa and protects it quite effectively from daily wear and tear. I had no trouble putting it on, bubble free, though it seems other folks did, so be careful. Unlike many self adhesive shields I've had for other devices, this one comes with a little tab to make peeling the shield from the backing easier.

DUAL CARRYING CASES - The fact that this kit comes with TWO carrying cases, one smaller, form fitting one and one larger and padded unit, is a great idea. Sometimes I want to carry the Sansa in as small a size as possible but still protect it (while it's in my pocket) ... while other times I want more protection and can afford a bit more bulk, like when I toss it in my backpack. I have both needs and the fact that both needs are met by this one purchase is SO handy. I didn't have to hunt around in 10 different stores to find 2 cases ... one purchase handled everything. And what's REALLY great is the fact that the two cases were designed to work together ... slip the Sansa into the leather case for pocket use ... then, with the leather case still on, drop it into the larger shell style case for rougher transport. No need to take it out of the leather case to put it into the shell case. GREAT design.

LEATHER CASE - The leather case is form fitting, secures with velcro and is thick enough to provide meaningful protection, but leaves you access to the most important controls and earphone jack on the Sansa. I will give the leather case a few negative marks for a) covering up the voice record button (which I use but most folks might not) and b) making access to the 4 directional navigation buttons a bit tricky. But otherwise, I find it quite satisfactory and I'm not sure I could have come up with a leather case for this unit that would have done a better job.

SHELL STYLE PADDED CASE - The larger padded case is a 100% winner. I find it to be no larger than it has to be while providing the kind of protection I want in rougher environments. It zips open on 3 sides to provide a hinged clam shell sort of opening, is designed with foam padding sized to accept the Sansa either "naked" or with it's "leather jacket", leaves a place in the padding for the earphone cord to pass through and comes with a velcro attach/detach belt loop to compliment the belt loop on the leather case. This is the best carry case of it's kind I've ever used. It fits great in my back pack in the small pouch designed to accept MP3 players and CD players and really does a great job. I'm totally psyched.

CLEANING CLOTH - in a day when quality cleaning cloths are hard to find even as after market purchases (I buy a lot of them for photo gear), it was GREAT to get one as part of this kit. This cloth isn't large, but it's a very high quality one and does a great job. And yes, there's a small pocket inside this case for little extras.

LANYARD - I really like the design of the lanyard that came with this unit as well. As with the other pieces, it's really well thought out, well designed and well made.

I've never seen an aftermarket carry case "set" that was this well designed or made ... I can give it my highest recommendation.

  • Great

    By A2E2ZICAEB4T66 on 2006-09-18
I was looking for something suitable to house my sansa, and this fit the bill better than most. The leather case is superb, looking sharp, snug and protective. I enjoy the fact you can still easily access the buttons and menus through it. Both the leather case and the larger case have an atachee on the back, if you wished to connect them to the cord that comes with it. The cleaning cloth works as well as any lense cloth, great for cleaning. The screen protector is a pain in the rear to apply without bubbles, still haven't figured out how yet, and I may trim it to make it more visually appealing. But, really, if you invest in a product such as this, it really makes sense to protect the easily scratched screen! The larger case is compact and protective, having a small storage area, yet the cover is a bit unsightly because of the cheap, generic looking Sansa logo. Only other complaint is that the leather case goes on a belt, but not as a removable type. Only if you put it on when putting on the belt, which can be impractical in some circumstances. This way, I suppose, it wouldn't be able to fall off.

  • Nice kit.

    By AEUW6VD9XCVWD on 2006-09-15
For the price, you actually get a good value. The small leather case is very nice and does a good job of protecting the e200 series. The only "bad" thing that can be said about this kit is that the small case is a little on the thick side, and it makes the already tiny buttons even harder to push. The screen protector is hard to attach, especially bubble free, but once it's done it completes the protection for the player very well. The large case is nice if you take it somewhere without using it, otherwise it's too bulky to carry around. The cloth is also very soft and cleans the player well. The lanyard, well, it's a lanyard.

  • Great Value, Almost Everything I was Looking for in a Case, 1 gripe

    By A38QGUUIL5XR1L on 2007-05-20
I looked at all the cases available (only those with amazon free shipping of course) and i settled on this one because of everything included and the price. It included mostly everything i wanted, which was a body case for my sansa to protect it from scratches (the screen protector is great, use a credit card to smooth out bubbles) and a durable carrying case to store the whole thing in my dirty backpack. The body case is decent, though the back is a bit thick. The leather is high quality but in my opinion a silicone case would be more snazzy.
The bubble carrying case is excellent. Some reviews wrote that the mesh pouch within was too small for earbuds, because they were worried that, when closed, the buds would press into the screen. Not true, its got room for any earbuds (sennheiser mx400, yeah!), and to prevent the buds from pressing into the screen? How about flip the player so its facedown so that the buds press into the back of the thick leather case? Problem solved. And I have full confidence in chucking this case around with my player inside. Very protective.
My one major gripe is that there is no arm band strap included even though on the leather case there is a slot on the back to thread through such an arm band. Im assuming that its made to be a belt loop but cmon an included arm band would have put icing on the cake.
The lanyard is stupid, this one and the original one included with the sansa. Its not like this player is the size of an ipod shuffle. Nevertheless it is a better lanyard.
I dont have a problem accessing the buttons or headphone jack with the leather case on, though the top velcro strap covers the hold button, which i rarely use anyway.
The polish rag is convenient to wipe off the screen and I just use it to line the bubble case.
Overall, if you need something to fully protect your sansa, get this. Its cheap, looks pretty good, and is very protective. If you are looking for the best looking body case, get something else.

  • A Good Investment

    By AJAYUMA8YMFB8 on 2007-06-12
If you have one of the Sansa E200 series players then this travel kit is a very good investment. This kit contains several items but the 3 most useful components are the semi-hard case, the soft case (glove) and the protective shield for your display.

The semi-hard case is made out of a material that, at least, looks and feels like thick leather. On the inside one side of the case is lined with a dense foam that will absorb a good deal of shock to protect your player. The other side of the inside has a cargo net pocket to store your ear buds or whatever. The foam has a notch in it so that you can put your player inside with the ear buds still plugged in. The double zipper on the case can be zipped is such a way as to close the case but still allow the wire for your ear buds to exit the case. This is great for being able to listen to your player while it is in your backpack, pocket or where ever and still keep it protected. If you have the soft case on the player it will still fit comfortably inside the semi-hard case.

The next thing is the soft case. This is like one of those form-fitting leather cases made for a non-folding cell phone. It has all the proper cut-outs for head sets, power plug and the operation of all controls. All controls that is except one. The velco strap at the top of the case goes directly over the control lock switch. You can not operate this switch without first undoing the strap. It's a minor flaw but an annoyance to me because of a problem that I have with the E280 player. You can read my review of the E280 if you want to know what that problem is. I don't know where else they would have put this strap but is is an inconvience, at least for me. The controls on the E200 series are a little recessed and not real handy for big-fisted people like me but when you put the soft case on the player, the controls on the front of the player are a little more difficuly to manipulate. It's not bad, it just makes it a little harder for my fat fingers to access the controls.

The last item is the small rectangle of plastic film that comes with the kit. You simply take it out of the package and place it over the view screen and it sticks. This makes for excellent scratch protection for your view screen. It is simple and cheap and it works. They sell this screen protector seperately so if the travel case isn't your thing then I would highly recommend getting one of the protector screens seperately.

This kit also comes with an elastic band the will go through a loop on the back of both the semi-hard case and the soft case. I thought it a nice piece of engineering that the loop on the semi-hard case is made with a velcro sizing strip that will expand to make threading the elastic band through the loop a lot easier. You can also attach the loop to other things besides the elastic band that are a different size or shape.

The way I use my E280, I usually only have the soft case (and the protector screen) on the player because that is all I need. I generally just carry my player in my shirt pocket and the soft case gives me all the protection that I need. But I very much like have the semi-hard case in case I decide to use it another way.

I highly recommend getting one of these kits if you are interested in protecting the finish on your player and protecting it from shock. If you will be traveling with your player then I believe it would be well worth the money.

  • Does its job.
    By AI8LQ05YCX9A6 on 2006-11-10
Pros: It protects my player nicely. Lanyard has a nice strong hook. Better than nothing or one of those plastic covers.

Cons: Well, to SanDisk's credit, I can see they were on the right track with all the features; belt loop, lanyard, pouch, indentation for the headphone jack, plastic cover for the screen, leather wrap for the player.

But... The belt loop is a little tight, the placement of the netted pouch doesn't allow you to actually put much else but the lanyard in it, cause if you try to put anything else in it, it will press down on the player, putting pressure on the screen and buttons when it is all zipped up (I tried to put my headphones in there). The indentation in the, albeit nice, lining, doesn't quite fit around the headphone jack when the earplugs are plugged in. The leather wrap protects well, but it covers up the keylock button and the record button, making it a pain to quickly switch them on or off. The wrap also makes it only slightly more difficult to press the buttons around the scroll wheel, as it is thick leather. Finally, the plastic cover for the screen DOES do its' job, but its a lint magnet on the side you stick to the player, so BE CAREFUL with it while attaching it to the screen. It also bubbles up pretty bad no matter what you do.

All in all, despite its flaws, it does do its job. And no one will doubt what kind of player you have when they see the gaudy but professional looking SanDisk logo on the top of the carrycase...

  • Screen cracked. Bad placement of logo
    By A3TCKXT641VDRE on 2007-11-14
Well, my daughter had an e250 in this case in her backpack and the screen cracked which Sandisk says is not covered under warranty. The logo on the front of this case also protrudes into the inner part which just happens to match perfectly were the crack in her sansa was. I would not buy this if your plan is to protect your mp3 player.

BTW, her eyeglasses have been put in her backpack dozens of time and never cracked. Why? Because they were in a case much like this one was supposed to be. What I think is a design flaw Sandisk thinks is my dumb luck. Buyer Beware.

  • Nice Idea - Bad Design
    By A2QZK9UKORV9E8 on 2007-01-19
Logo patch stitched to case is large, thick and ugly. The ear pieces do NOT fit into the carry case without smashing them in. I bought a simple Case Guard to replace it that is smaller, looks better and holds all accessories. As always Amazon returns handled it well so AMAZON deserves 5 stars.

  • A complete travel kit
    By A2VHX1UFQZRZ7X on 2007-01-29
Like the leather case for the Sansa, but sometimes hard to get to the buttons when in it. Does come with a protective plastic screen like a PDA - has worked well. The other case is large enough to put the Sansa in while in the leather case. Very good by for the price, if you want to protect the product.

  • Does What It Should
    By A31HPWLI7VJ9CH on 2007-02-10
The case is very nice, and makes my e280 much more likely to survive a fall. The carrying case is very well made, but kind of bulky.
I bought a 2nd e280 for my wife, and got her one of these with it because I think that it is an important add-on.

  • Not enough room.
    By A1INUD4OVDL4PR on 2007-07-21
Nice construction, would protect from damage. Might as well forget putting anything in with the player. The ear buds would get crushed and no room for cords. Defeats the purpose in my opinion.

  • Mostely a Waste of Money...
    By A3AJVFELNDKWRT on 2007-08-22
I just got this product in, and I have to say I'm very disappointed.

First, I went to put on the screen guard. Here was my first mistake: I forgot to wipe off the screen first, and I believe that was why there were bubbles that refused to go away. Repositioning it was a major pain, and did nothing to the bubbles. Next I tried washing the screen protector with some clean water to get any dust off. That was my second mistake. After it dried, the plastic was horribly smudged and there were bubbles everywhere when I put it on. I had to just throw it away. I'll admit I might have been able to use it if I had cleaned the screen and NOT washed the screen protector, but there is zero room for error here.

Second is the leather case, again a major disappointment. It doesn't fit properly, so there is always a part of screen or a button that's covered; there are no openings for the record button or microSD slot; the velcro flap covers the hold switch and microphone hole; and worst of all is the smell! They say it's leather, but it's certainly not high quality leather. I question if it's even made from real cow skin! All in all, another worthless item.

Next is the hard case. First the slot to put the Sansa in is too large without the leather case, so if you have just that inside with the case zipped up, the Sansa will rattle around! The only way to fix this, aside from using the smelly leather skin, is to jam your earbuds in the extremely small netted pocket. The room for the earbuds is so small that after you cram them into the pocket, it does a pretty good job of keeping the Sansa in place when it's all zipped up. On a personal note, I'm not fond of the giant SanDisk logo on the front of it either, much as I like their flash cards/drives and mp3 players, but I suppose that's just a matter of opinion.

Lastly is the lanyard and dust wipe. The people creating the lanyard were not being bright that day, as they made it just fine to clip on to the leather case and the hard case, but just too big to clip it on to the Sansa itself. That would have been nice. Also, the lanyard isn't even a drawstring, so you can't tighten it! As for the dust wipe ... it's a dust wipe! What more do you want? It's the only thing that does its job right.

All in all, this was a waste of $18. As stated the wipe is good, I'm sure I'll use it a lot for my black Nintendo DS, and the hard case does its job (mostly) so I might continue to use it, especially since I don't have anything else to put my Sansa in! I would highly NOT recommend this kit, unless you absolutely need an OK hard case and a dust wipe, but if not, then you should probably just get a silicone skin. That's what I'm about to do.

  • Sweet!
    By A1FKVQU2ASSYXZ on 2006-09-21
Made by Sandisk, this sweet kit has:

    1 a cool leather case
    2 a screen protecter
3 a cleaning cloth (to safely wipe the screen
    4 a lanyard
5 a larger case to put this stuff in

Awesome product to protect your sansa e200 series mp3!!!

  • Good Product for price with only a few cons
    By A22SSQ8C3785YK on 2006-11-09
I looked around for cases for my Sansa e280 MP3 Player, and this product was a bargain for the stuff you get with it. Overall this product has worked great and I am very satisfied with it. The case for the player fits and protects the player very well. The black leather is nice and works well. Unfortunately, the case makes the buttons somewhat harder to push with the case on, especially the menu/on/off button, covers the key lock (fortunately its under the velcro strap of the case, so its pretty easy to access it anyway), and makes it a little harder to plug in stuff to the headphone jack, but these are just small annoyances. The screen protector protects the screen very well and does not alter the screen image in any noticable way. Even though I could not get all the bubbles out of the screen protector, I was lucky to get none in the viewing area. The larger traveling case is very nice, and can fit the player, my headphones, and the computer connector fairly well, and protects all of them well. The screen cleaning cloth works as it should. They only thing I don't like about this product are the belt clips on the cases. The belt clips are pretty much useless since you have to take off your belt to remove the MP3 Player from your belt, if you even wear one. Overall, though, for the price and everything you get for it, this product is hard to beat.

  • Great value! Worth the cost ($15)
    By AW8VAFCGZFL9E on 2006-12-14
I found this same package in stores for twice the amount. I too use the soft leather case for the mp3 player regularly, but it does make using the buttons a bit challenging as mentioned. I too had problems putting on my screen protector. I messed it up by getting my finger prints on it and then I could not get the air bubbles out. I bought a screen protector for the ipod video at Walmart for $5 and cut a piece out to fit my e260 unit. I have enough left over for 2 or 3 more protectors if needed. I mainly wanted a hard case to stuff in to my pc laptop bag or backpack when traveling and not damage my e260 which this hard case will do wonderfully. The soft leather case that fits snugly around the e260 for everyday carrying around is a nice bonus.

  • Sansa E 200 Travel Case
    By A9DLG1HN0TQ93 on 2007-01-28
I got this case because the Sansa E 200 will scratch easily. I give it a 3 star because at the bottom of the case where you connect your cable, the leather straps are to close and you have to move the leather out of the way to plug in your sansa. I Also have the inmotion speakers for the sansa and this also makes it inconvenient. The film is a little difficult to put on because of air bubbles. As for protection, it does a good job, especially with the hard case when traveling.

  • cool
    By A2Z9BNL1HT1YYP on 2007-01-30
i like this.. its kinda a cute.. like a mini suitcase.. i was please with all the stuff it came with ... i feel like my mp3 player is safe now.. exceptially with my 4 yr old running around.. thanks!!! fast delivery!! ty amazon!

  • Essentially the best thing for the job.
    By A427M87FRM48B on 2007-06-01
The thing I most like about this particular item is that you get a leather case that is portable for your daily travels and you get the protective outer casing for your storage. You don't have to lug around the larger protective casing unless you have a mind to. The flexible leather portable casing fits quite nicely and with no trouble inside the protective case.

It portable soft case gives the MP3 player a classy upscale look. Very nice. I am more than happy with this purchase.

It arrived in a timely manner too. I took the standard delivery and it arrived sooner than expected. I got one for myself and one for my wife.

  • Probably your best choice if you're looking for protection
    By A2W36OONSDMA03 on 2007-07-13
Well I recently purchased the 8GB sandisk and i'm not gonna risk letting my investment become broke or destroyed so I decided to buy this combo pack. The actual leather case is nice and protective, but i already owned a blue silicone slip over case, which seems to be a better fit.. but this one will be handy if anything ever happens to my silicone one. The non-scratch adhesive is nice, but i must have spent an hour removing and re-applying it to try to get no air bubbles... difficult to do, so when i finally got it down to 1 air bubble i decided to give in and leave it there.. better than the alternative: a scratch. The cloth serves well to clean the sansa, as well as any other similar surface. The big case, will more or less come in handy for a more permandent storage, or maybe if you tuck it into a suit case on a trip. All in all, if you're looking for protection for your sansa at the cheapest price.. this is your best deal

  • Best Deal for with a Low Price
    By A3MIAAZ4F5KYUG on 2007-03-09
I read some reviews before purchasing this product and I was a bit skeptical because some people had complaints. I got it anyway and I am so glad that I did. The mp3 player fits really nice and snug in the travel case and the additional leather case is perfect. When the player is in the leather case, it allows for the ear plugs and the usb cord to fit without moving anything. You also have easy access to all the keys. If you do not want to spend too much money but still want good quality, this is just the travel case for you.

  • handy protection for your Sansa
    By A25YQPSUR8VC3L on 2007-04-02
Once you open the box, you can probably say "This is it?". It actually didnt live up to my expectations; thinking it would have a more glamorous finish and feel. But instead it ended up looking like a cheap product made in China. But, since I used it, I found that it delivered its promise. It did protect my Sansa e270 and is sleek and can get in even the smallest of bags. Maybe what this product lacks is more space to put your earphones in; but its not a big setback. On the overall, its quite great to have to pamper your Sansa.

  • Own a Sansa E series mp3 player? BUY THIS! Period.
    By A348N0ZE5OXZZY on 2007-05-03
I bought my Sansa E 250 last summer & within a week I bought this to protect it. 9 months later my E250 still looks brand new and has no scratches, dings or anything. This was well worth the extra $35 investment at the time, and at Amazon's current $18 price, it's an even better deal! My soon to be teenage daughter wanted her "own" Sansa player for her upcoming birthday, and she's getting it, along with this wonderful protector kit. Who needs an iPod? The Sansa e series players blow iPods out of the water quality & feature wise, and this little beauty keeps 'em safe and damage free. Just buy it. You'll be glad you did.

  • A must have for your Sansa
    By A10PQWASKQ7YCJ on 2007-06-14
This is a great deal for under $20 for all you get and the quality is top notch.

  • Excellent value, nice leather case
    By AEWYUPCNDV7HY on 2007-08-21
This kit had everything my son wanted, a lanyard to wear this around his neck, a leather glove, a screen protector to prevent scratches, a carrying case for storage, and a cleaning cloth. The screen protector is a little tricky to get on without any bubbles, I would have liked to have received two of those in this kit. The only other items you might wish to add to your sansa is a micro sd card, an armband, and new ear buds. The ear buds that are shown in the amazon picture are not included.

  • Great Package
    By A1W6EIQSINEY6I on 2007-09-14
The travel kit is one of the best things, other than a charger that plugs into the wall, that I've bought for my player. It's the handiest way to take everything with you when you go anywhere and don't want your player to get exposed to dirt, direct sunlight, or any other debris in the area of a tote, purse, backpack or whatever. It keeps everything neat and tidy. Love it.

  • Good value
    By A2PZXXPGLXXKZU on 2007-09-18
This bundle of accessories is a great deal. You get a large carrying case, the leather case, screen protecter, lanyard and the cleaning cloth. I mostly used the screen protecter and the leather case. The leather cased alone is better than all the other cases available for this player. Most of the other cases cost around the same price as this whole bundle.

  • Almost perfect
    By A1TUSM54LFIKEV on 2007-09-28
I bought this case to protect my Sansa MP3 player, and it works really well. The ONLY thing I have to complain about is that there really isn't enough room to put the ear buds in the case along with the player. I've managed to make a way, but it takes creativity to make it all fit. Otherwise, it's a great, sturdy case, and has served me well so far.

  • Great case for a good player
    By AXOWY9ZUKYYYF on 2007-10-03
After my daughter's first SanDisk e200 stopped working--one too many drops on the bus--I bought her this case to protect her new player. She's been using it now for about a month and I must say it's great at keeping her player looking like new. Plus, the case easily helps her keep things together in her backpack...no more tangled headphone cords. I only have one regret: I didn't buy this for her first player. If I had, I think it's safe to say there wouldn't have been a need for a replacement.

  • Don't waste your money!
    By A12TDX44NWTVGR on 2007-12-16
This item would be ok at best if it could fit your player and accessories- but it cant. It is too tight of a fit to fit the items that comes with it! If this case costs say $2 or $3 maybe- just maybe. I bought it and have never used anything that comes with it except the screen protector. Save your money and just buy a screen protector!!! I want to give the item zero stars but Amazon won't allow it. You can buy the same accessories that come with this case cheaper if you just buy non- OEM products.

  • Not worth the Money!
    By A2VIB7BI55RM0I on 2007-12-27
This really isnt worth the money at all. I got it because I travel quite a bit sometimes long distances and I wanted to be able to put my mp3 stuff in it for safe keeping. Not going to work. There is hardly enough room inside for the mp3 player much less the cable and earphones with it. The only really useful thing in the package was the lanyard everything else was less than ideal. I dont think this item is a good buy at all and would recomend to anyone thinking about getting it to look at other products.
