New school functionality at old school pricing

Very good product, especially for the price (Amazon had the lowest online price I could find). Product delivers all advertised functionality, hip color scheme and comfortable shoulder straps. Zippers can be a bit difficult when particularly when backpack is cinched.
High Marks for High Sierra!

I specifically purchased this product for my teenager to take a load off his shoulders and back while staying in style. I wasn't disappointed. Initially, I was afraid my teen wouldn't even wear it as the trend is to purchase back "sacks". I was pleasantly surprised when the "Old School" backpack showed up and he started using it immediately. We live in a city and he uses public transportation and does alot of walking after school. He needs a pack that doesn't drag him down. This pack is not too big nor too small. It's plenty roomy but not bulky. Overall it appears very sporty and efficient. It's too early to write about wear and tear but this user is very happy with purchase. We have purchased alot of backpacks over the years and you can tell that the construction is up to par on this. I love the padded shoulder straps!
please oh please buy a different backpack

The shape of the backpack is good- plenty of room, seems to be put together OK, lots of space for stuff. BUT-see the black part of the strap where it would sit on the shoulder? There isn't any padding there. It's just 2 layers of heavy webbing sewn together. There is padding further down, but its just flimsy foam that you can't even feel.
My poor kid's shoulders- he was raw after only one day.

The perfect backpack for people who need lots of compartments. This bag has them in all sizes; it has a section for small items - PDA, cell phone, pens, coins, etc; a small compartment, a medium and large one. The overall feel of the bag is high quality, good straps, padding, zipers, good sturdy fabric. I'd buy it again.

I looked at many backpacks for my boyfriend who travels alot and needed a durable backpack to use. This was the winner! VERY durable! Very roomy without being too bulky. He always comments how comfortable the straps are, even when the pack is full and (I think very) heavy! I strongly recommend this backpack...forgot to mention the price is GREAT for the product!

This bag has descent amount of space for storage. I am happy with it. Hence 3 stars.
It lost 2 stars for the material. I bought this bag just by looking at the picture and got disappointed with the material of the bag.
- Smaller than it Looks

The mistake I made was not realizing their isn't a holder/pocket for water on this bag. This bag is not as large as it looks either. I would recommend it for a kid, but not an adult man.

The backpack is good if you have lots of books to carry around. One thing that bothers me is sometimes the zippers get stuck making it difficult to open or close the backpack. Especially if your in a hurry. But overall it is a good backpack.

I bought this product for my short trips. Though it is meant for short trips some how I find it to be little smaller than expected. May be because I had to many to carry. Otherwise very comfortable and stylish.

I'm really pleased with this backpack. it was super cheap and is super durable! i love all the compartments and even though there isn't a laptop "place", the biggest compartment is more than enough for my laptop. and there's still room for books! i got this for walking around campus all day, and its a great fit!

I love this backpack. I have to carry my laptop around everyday and 3 or more big books, and this backpack makes it so easy. It has a lot of space and the shoulder straps are VERY comfortable. It feels like you are not carrying that much weight. The only thing I did not test is how quickly the books and other things inside will get wet if it gets rain on it. Also, in the picture, the backpack looks padded, specially in the front pocket, but it is not.Anyways, it is an excellent product.
