  • Good bed, bad sizing info!

    By AT7AOLGC0E4TW on 2007-11-15
As an owner of several air mattress' in the past, I feel that I speak from experience.
Often the bed is made of an inferior plastic that is too thin and will soon burst from the seams, or is constructed poorly which allows for instability.
    This bed is neither.
It is sturdy enough for multiple persons to rest comfortably, allowing them to sleep without falling in a "valley" or slipping off when near the edge due to it's multiple channel design.
Another nice feature not readily known or stated is that the bed has a channel all the way around between the two sections that allow you to actually tuck in a sheet, with a larger gap at the corners. A very nice feature that should be noted.

As with any air mattress, fill it until it is soft, not firm and let it sit for an hour before blowing it up to the desired firmness. This will allow the plastic to warm up and will prevent cracks and leaks. Second, DON'T OVER FILL the mattress, and thirdly, if you jump up and down on ANY air mattress like a trampoline, expect air leakage.

THE ONLY ISSUE I HAVE WITH THIS BED IS THIS:
    The size is INCORRECTLY stated!
This bed does NOT conform to the measurements given ("Approx." 80" x 60") and is correctly measured at 77" x 56", which conforms to a "Double" sized bed, not a "Queen" sized bed.
    BEWARE!

  • Airbed

    By A1NKNK7K5SP7ZW on 2007-08-12
I have had one other airbed of this kind and this airbed is far superior.I would rate this a five stars, given its low cost.

  • Ordering Another

    By A21J083NQ6IFL1 on 2007-07-23
I purchased this as a guest bed, and everyone has commented on how comfortable and easy it was to setup. I'm ordering another one! Even the company was easy to work with, when I called to find out when it would be delivered.

  • Good Air Bed

    By A7OKPPC85YF82 on 2007-09-11
Bought this for our kids to use when guests visit. Worked like a charm. Not too high or unstable. Sheets fit and tuck in easily. Inflates easily. Loses a bit of air from one night to the next, so need to refill a little before going to bed each night. Very pleased with our purchase.

  • intex bed review

    By AX5HLZD885OYM on 2007-10-01
    I purchased the intex bed because my son was visiting. He is a large young man (approx 250 lbs) and states he was very comfortable on the mattress. He could adjust the firmness by pushing the button and inflating it a bit more if needed. The bed filled in a matter of minutes which was amazing to watch.The vinyl is heavy and good quality. I was not afraid of rupture. It was easy to deflate and I folded it alone and put it back in the bag. I think I will take it with me when I go visit him!!! Storage requires a bit of room and it is heavy, but the alternative would be to store and lift a real bed so I guess it is a good compromise.:}

  • This is the best bed Intex has ever made!
    By A1ADF6FS7N5NWX on 2007-11-03
If air beds got awards or ribbons, this bed would get the Gold. First off, the supplier is excellent with xtra-fast shipping! I've no complaints! Now, for the bed: I've slept on this air-bed for a month now and it is superb! I expected air leaks but there have been none! I have slept on the edge and in the middle (my preference) and there was no "bowing" or "lifting" as often found in other air beds. The bed stayed flat - I think this is due to its design. It's as comfortable as you make it - comfort level can be adjusted, although I do think a hand-held remote would be easier to use. Still, it is the best of its kind! I've been sleeping on air beds for the past 13 years (different brands including Aerobed) and this one is outstanding. I highly reccommend this bed to any who may be searching for a temporary or even semi-permanent bed(no air bed lasts much over a year or two if used every night)! I plan to pick up a second one early next year just in case this model becomes hard to find in a year from now or the price jumps much higher. What really surprised me is that this bed is Intex. I've been highly critical of Intex in the past due to problems with their beds. It seems that, at least with this model, they finally got it right!

  • Comfort and practicality
    By A17831FB6RVXG on 2007-11-29
Very happy with purchase so far. We previously had used a friend's Intex 2-in-1 air mattress and were considering purchasing that model. I'm glad we got this one. This air bed is much more stable and comfortable plus easier to fill. The built in electric air pump is fabulous, much quieter and more practical than the external pump we had to use with the 2-in-1 model. It was quick and easy to fill the mattress every night and to deflate every morning. And we were able to regulate the firmness while in bed. We slept on it for 10 days and were very comfortable. No aches and pains. When filled to firm, the edges of the bed held up under our weight and didn't sag, no matter how close to the edge we slept. The mattress is a good height, so you don't feel like you're sleeping on the floor. And the built-in crease between top and bottom keeps fitted sheets in place. The only downside is the size. This is not a true Queen mattress. Feels more like a large double. Also the mattress had a noticeable plastic smell when we first got it. It dissipated over the week but it's still there. I'm hoping it will disappear completely with further use. Received item quickly but it was a bit heavy getting it home from my office.

  • Sleep Well
    By A3GSXOY6YJ8HBH on 2007-10-09
A good comfortable sleep, easy to set up. Built with a crease? to help the sheet stay in place. It does weight a bit which isn't a problem until you consider shipping costs.

  • Pleasantly Surprised at this Great Inflatable
    By AODO8CUZ39S17 on 2007-11-12
I fretted for days over which inflatable mattress to purchase, since so many models had poor reviews, particularly for sturdiness. Guests were staying for a two weeks, so the mattress was crucial for their comfort. It arrived the same day they did, so I didn't get the chance to test it first!

Anyway, set up was very easy, and it only took a few minutes for the mattress to inflate. The crease, or indentation for the sheets really held them in place, so no sliding or slipping off the corners. As for comfort, my guests just raved about. In fact, they plan to buy one for their guests! I tried it myself and was pleasantly surprised. It does lose a little air, but it just takes a few moments to turn on the pump and it's as firm as needed.

Deflating took a little more time, but really wasn't so bad. Also, there is a patch kit enclosed in case of holes or leaks, but as the material seems to be a pretty heavy gauge, I don't expect it pop anytime soon. One detraction is the weight - I wouldn't exactly call it portable unless it's thrown in a car trunk.

As mentioned in another review, it's a great price, but even the most economical shipping practically doubles the cost. However, I say it's worth every penny.

  • Leaker
    By ASY98VLP5DN6N on 2007-11-26
We had our 1 year before it became unusable because of a leak we could not find. It was a good bed until then.

  • don't buy from backstore- they lie
    By A1FQEWC637K50X on 2007-11-27
Backstore charged me $97 for expedited shipping and then did not ship expedited. Amazon failed to resolve this claim on my behalf. If you read enough of the seller reviews for Backstore you will see this is typical.
I am sure they will post a clever reply, as they have to others who complain about their thievery.

  • Excellent bed for company. They used it for a week and said it felt like a regular bed.
    By A3UNP2AS6OPADR on 2008-01-14
Over the Christmas holidays we had a full house, and the company that slept on this for over a week said it felt very comfortable. They did not get rolled around at all due to it's design, could sit easily on the side.

It was VERY easy to inflate and deflate (with the pump that's right in the bed itself) which we did every day with ease.

Another thing I REALLY liked about it was it's height off the floor. It's more than twice as thick as any other inflatable mattress I'd ever seen. It also has a very nice suede or nice material feel to it, and seems very well made and is very durable. It also comes with a good storage bag to keep it in.

I can't think of one way to improve this product. Thanks everybody before me that rated this bed- you helped me pick an excellent product!!

  • Great size but loses air
    By ASC7B4JGVFT4 on 2007-12-13
The title says it all. Overall the size and weight was what I expected after reading other reviews. My guests slept great and thought the firmness was superior to past experiences. The mattress did lose air overnight and even when not slept on, it required additional air each night. The valve does not cap off like some other models, which may be the problem.

  • Very nice extra bed
    By A1SZAG3EAFAMXL on 2008-01-02
This product arrived promptly after ordering. It is MUCH nicer than most of the inflatable air mattresses I saw in stores. Seems equivalent to the most plush, expensive brand out there, at half the cost ! Nice separation between top and bottom allows for fitted sheet to conform. Flocked surface over the whole surface of the bed keeps sheets from slipping, and reduces that cold plastic feeling on contact. The tufted top makes it very comfortable, almost like having a mattress pad on the bed already, which I will probably add anyway, but it wouldn't be absolutely necessary like with some bare plastic mattresses with ridged design. It does lose a little air over each 24-48 hr period, but simply remedied by turning on the pump for 15-30 seconds if you want really firm bed. My guests say it is very comfortable, and they often choose NOT to add air to make it so rigid, so in a way it can be like a "sleep number" bed. ;-)

  • air bed review
    By A1TIZWV9XJWWS1 on 2008-01-04
It came defective. The first inflation reveiled a good size hole in the top that obviously leaked lots of air. We decided to go with something altogether different for our extra bed needs.

  • Intex Supreme Air-Flow Queen Airbed Nylon flocked with Built-in Electric Pump
    By A1U0MAAGWZHP4V on 2008-01-07
Excellent delivery. Ordered thursday afternoon, recieved it Friday morning. Very comfortable, easy to inflate and deflate. rolls up easy to store in bag. Very impressive.

  • Nice extra bed
    By AH0YOW6020V9N on 2008-01-27
This is a nice extra bed to have for overnight guests. It fills quickly and easily. Says it is queen size, but more like a full size. Best for one person, or two small people since the sides tend to be less firm and you feel like you may fall out. Otherwise comfortable and handy to have.

  • As close as you can get to a real mattress
    By A30BWLSJ7FFW5S on 2008-03-18
This was the only air mattress that I could find with a flat surface. I was uncomfortable with the traditional ridges on other mattresses. This mattress has been great. It inflates quickly and stays very firm. It is a little smaller than a standard queen size bed, but worked fine with queen size sheets. A very helpful tip we found out was to use a down blanket under the sheets to insulate from the cool air in the mattress. Sleep well!

  • Loose Air
    By AQ1BBFXWE93X8 on 2008-04-21
I bought 2 of these for our guess after read the good Reviews. Both loose air after the first night of use. I bought other brands previously and had similar air leakage problem, thought Intex would be better but I was wrong. The fix-it-yourself patch that came with the air beds are useless because I can't locate the leak (small, slow leaks, I guess!) after spent an hour on each. I wonder why they included them with the air beds in the first place. Anyway, I'm done with Air Bed for good. The guesses will just have to deal with the Sofa.

  • Very satisified
    By A2FVD1560DPL68 on 2008-04-22
I read all the comments before purchasing this and it was exactly as stated. Yes it is a little smaller than a queen but it's not much of a problem. You cannot feel the ridges like other airbeds. It does have to have a little air added every few days but again, that's not really a problem. I then purchased a 2" memory foam pad for it and have been sleeping so much better than with a traditional mattress. There is no reason it can't be used as your permanent bed!

  • Make sure you re-fill every night
    By A1TRDAMJ3RCD2G on 2008-04-22
Can't beat the price! Not something to be used for long-term guests (more than 3-4 nights) because no matter what you do - its still an air mattress (the edge of the bed is soft, if someone is laying on the bed and another one gets in you'll know it, etc.). Also, it lost air quicker than I thought it would - probably 30% overnight - so you'll need to keep an eye on it if you keep it out during your guests stay (if you like them, if not - its one way to make sure they leave on time). But you can't beat the price - and the electric pump makes it easy to refill. Overall, I'm happy with it.

  • leaks
    By A3RC6RIUQBMNS1 on 2007-12-29
Worked well for a month. I have had this bed for a little over a month, and it just started to leak. I dont have animals or any sharp things on the bed, and woke up in the middle of the night on the floor. I cant find the leak, but hopefully i can exchange it.

  • very confortable!
    By ALSNW2M2MSI1A on 2008-01-23
very confortable, but first time we used start loosing air, it had a little hole, so I call customer service, but since we did not have the time to send it back I ask for more patches, which the send very promp, but since we got it couple months ago, we run out of patches, it will be great if the made it more resistant, but as confortability, is way better than my regular mattrees!

  • Air Mattress
    By AP2KP1B6EOBXH on 2008-02-21
It is hard for me to rate this item when I haven't used it yet -- plan to use it for camping when the weather warms up. The item did arrive quickly so for quick shipping I will give it 5 stars.

  • Great air bed
    By A1ORABWN5IGE63 on 2008-03-20
Bought this as a bed for when my kids have folks over, or when we have house guests. I received the bed yesterday, inflated it and I can tell you it is far more comfortable than other air mattresses I have slept on. I layed on it and almost when to sleep, the material on the mattress makes it more comfortable than most air beds with the plastic feel, this feels much better. Also, the bed had a definite divide between the top and bottom, so sheets don't slip off. Deflating the bed was a breeze. Also, though I inflated the bed electrically, you can blow it up with a foot pump if you don't have electricity. Great bed and highly recommended.

  • I love it!
    By A2VDPUEJ56V3GW on 2008-04-14
This is a great bed! My dog sleeps on it all the time too and so far no problems with great leakage, just need to top it off every few days. It is a bit small but not that small besides it's just me and my dog! LOL

  • Great Bed!
    By A3SZSBNAFP8J7M on 2008-04-28
Seems like a great bed to me. Built in pump is very fast, holds air well, nice and raised (almost normal bed height). My only complaint is that I don't think its truly queen sized....it's a bit smaller. Probably more of a "full" than a "queen". Queen sheets were slightly loose on it.

  • fine for emergency guest bed.
    By AHVM1K3YGXMAE on 2008-05-17
OK for those emergency situations when unexpected guests arrive and there is just no place else to put them. Inflates / deflates fairly quickly though the pump is quite noisy very much like a cheap vacuum cleaner. If you had to add air during the night you'd likely raise the dead!
Dont believe the hype, not very comfortable or stable and it does leak down. I would suggest also buying a pillowtop for added comfort.
On the plus side, unlike much of the competition, the mattress is true queen size.
The sleeping experience is not all that much different than a typical $6 air float. Inflate for stability or comfort but not both...

  • Intex Supreme Air-Flow Queen Bed
    By A1FH5RJ6EUNGL4 on 2008-05-26
Beware - this bed is NOT queen size as stated - it is full size. It is quite comfortable, but if you are looking for a Queen size bed, this is not the one for you.

  • Intex Supreme Queen Airbed with Built-in Pump
    By A39WUNAX36X9Z4 on 2008-06-25
I chose this airbed based on cost, quality and flexibility of set up. The built-in pump allows you to adjust the firmness of the mattress at anytime. It was easy to set up, easy to tuck the bottom sheet, firm at the edges, 20 inches high so you can put bedside tables next to it and your guests feel like they are on a "regular" guest bed. We have 4 cats and I was worried about punctures. No worries, just be sure to put a bed spread or comforter over it.
