  • Generates a smile every time

    By AO614QB4NFC2M on 2007-07-21
Every time I send that monkey flying through the air shrieking all the way I have to grin -- there's probably a deep personal insight there but let's skip over that. It's a little difficult for people without some hand strength to operate so it doesn't get five stars, other than that it's a real winner. I don't know how well kids would like this toy because I've only ever purchased it for adults but it's been a boffo hit with both of them.

  • A Hoot!

My high school aged daughter bought this for a friend and it was a hit with the whole crowd.

  • fun product, beware of seller

    By A22ZXC0FTF7VE6 on 2007-01-18
the slingshot monkey is a lot of fun. Beware though, we received our monkeys and 3 out of 5 did not work. The seller put dead batteries in them. It's embarrassing to give a gift and it not work.

  • Wicket awesome review!

    By A2PGLTFPLS7QE2 on 2007-05-14
Holy gawd, this toy rocks the world! Every freaking person should have this toy. OMFG, it's amazing! It, like, flies, then, it's like, zowie, OMFG, I'm screaming and stuff! Awesome!

  • Time to monkey around!

    By A17KIUT9AOYEVL on 2007-05-14
This toy is -awesome-! I bought it as a joke to use on some of my co-workers, and they found it hysterical. This toy is safe and fun to people of all ages!

  • flying monkey way more fun than a barrel of monkeys
    By AFCNJXEF1U3F2 on 2007-08-28
The monkeys are great but they could probably be a little more durable. We tried to play a game of "Whiffle Monkey" but the monkey no longer screams after only one hit with the Whiffle Bat.

  • I Love Playing With It!
    By A2VH0UT5EQFB6P on 2007-11-04
It's an incredibly cute idea! I bought it for my kids (age 4 & 5) but they never play with it. It's too hard for them to shoot it off of their fingers. However, I LOVE IT! It's a great grown-up toy. You can shoot the monkey really far and I've come close to sending it over the fence and into our neighbor's swimming pool. It screams this wild jungle monkey scream when flying through the air and gosh, darn!, I just love it!

Unfortunately, it stopped screaming after the battery died and I can't figure out how to change it unless I tear into the monkey to perform open-monkey-heart surgery. The scream was what was the most fun. But it's still cute with it silly black mask and cape!

  • This thing is Awesome!
    By A33CEFO5UKZGQV on 2007-05-10
From the title itself i figured this monkey was gonna break from the rough play of me and my friends shooting it at each other as hard as we could. But that was our dumb fualt. Still this was one awesome toy!

  • flying monkey review
    By AVL1ADL2JUY6B on 2007-10-11
My 13-lb. Schnauzer tore the hard plastic nose off, in half, right away and was chewing the eyes off, too, when I took it away from him. The monkey is a lot of fun, but I think it could be a choking hazard for small children.

  • Bizarre and alarming to some; beloved by others
    By A1L7RR91VZZSE5 on 2007-11-23
I had first found one of these in a small store in a small town on the Oregon coast-when I tried it out I knew I had to have it and bought 2. I gave one to a friend at work where it has become notorious and you'll occasionally hear the eerie screaming cry as it flies from one end of the office to the other.

Just for the hell of it I looked it up and found them here. I feel like a video review would spoil it -it's much better when you are are not prepared for its shocking, shrieking parabola of panic!

Good gift for the friend who likes the odd, or an unsuspecting aquaintance.

  • It's fun for what it is
    By AG42CYU5P8NVQ on 2007-12-22
I saw this by chance and figured "why not?" so I added it to the list.

I like it overall but for me the hand pockets are too small as I have to work two my fingers to get them to fit.

Distance wise I can get it to fly about 17-20 feet.

I wonder how long the rubber in the arms will last?

The sound box is sown into the monkey so if the batteries can be replaced, it appears you will have to cut open the monkey.

Overall, it's a nice little gag gift.

  • Fun toy , for the whole family!
    By A1LBB6NJO9WZEZ on 2008-03-20
In an era of video games and other "techno-mechanical" products in the markets for kids, this is a simple and nice toy for kids and adults alike to enjoy.
I bought this for my nephews who are 3 and 6 respectively and they immensely enjoyed it. You just slingshot the monkey and as it flies through the air, a monkey scream is heard ( annoying (or) funny would depend on the individual), but i enjoyed and more importantly, my nephews enjoyed it even more!
Very good laugh value and nice ice breaker toy when your children meet other kids. But even the adults enjoy it too! ( esp. after a few beers it gets funnier :))

  • Really Hard to Use
    By A2CF162HA2MCNB on 2008-11-09
I don't understand how this got so many positive reviews. I bought ten of these for a birthday party and all the kids and adults had trouble getting the monkeys to fly. I loved the idea, but they just don't fly very far at all. In addition, the monkey makes a screaching annoying and loud noise!

  • Yeah, it really is a screaming, flying monkey!
    By A2QTGQHKP3LLOA on 2006-12-16
Just got them delivered to work and coworkers are asking me to get more. This gift is priced right and lots of fun.

  • wicked fun
    By A1MZPUEXBOX6KW on 2006-12-27
We love these! Lots of fun for very little $. Big hit in the stocking.

  • Got the Wrong Monkey
    By A3W40FUCWN1LMW on 2007-01-18
I ordered this monkey, which was pictured as being a Flingshot Flying Monkey, but actually received the Super Fly Monkey instead. They seem to be very similar, with different faces and masks. The Super Fly Monkey was well received by each person who got one, and they were a lot of fun. Be careful when pulling out the tab to block the battery however, as the plastic strip can break, leaving the monkey silent.

  • Fun for All
    By A1ZZ11QXN05CNM on 2007-01-18
Purchased the Flying Monkey for my adult son's for stocking stuffers. While they didn't fly the distance stated in the ad, they flew far enough for good screaming action. Both by the monkey and by the launcher! A good gift at a reasonable price.

  • Hillarious Shrieking Monkey
    By A2XHF4ILUX3SRW on 2007-11-25
I cracked up so hard the first time I flung this across the room. My cat freaked as the monkey shrieked - oh yeah, it makes this crazy sound as it flies. It actually flies pretty far - I would guess well over 20 feet if you try - my living room is only 20 feet. I purchased a bunch of these to give out in the office. I highly recommend this funny toy.

  • Brings a smile to your face
    By AEJY8KZ9P3GL3 on 2007-12-28
There's something about this toy that makes everyone grin from ear to ear. To hear this thing scream while flying thru the air is fun! My kids enjoyed it. Younger ones had a little difficulty in getting it to fling, but then figured out they could just throw it and have similar effects (once it hit the ground). Fun toy as a stocking stuffer.

  • One good monkey, one bad monkey
    By A3JFFSP6N5IFTJ on 2007-12-28
I bought 2 of these little guys for stocking stuffers for my 10-year old nephew and 7-year old neice. One screamed, the other was mute. It was definitely a riot when they started flinging them around and everyone loved them. I would highly recommend these little toys, however, it has become such a hassle to return such an inexpensive gift, that I may as well take my chances and purchase another. Shipping was fast though!

  • flying monkey slingshot
    By A2O4GP1LXJ5HYN on 2007-12-31
Screaming monkeye slingshot is a scream! It flies through the air and lands sounding like a banshee. It puts a scare into anyone it flies near especially if it is not expected. Really cute toy!!!

  • They shrieked!
    By A2IWN191AZDZTR on 2007-12-31
Purchased as stocking stuffers for all. The recipients shrieked as loud as the monkey's. Was great fun to also watch the dog's reaction.

  • you gotta have one :-)
    By A7JC62FV0BRHE on 2007-12-31
To be blunt , this is one of those cheap little toys that everyone loves. You put your fingers in the monkeys hand pockets, pull back the tail and legs and let fly. It monkey calls all the way through the air. Everyone in the house has been playing with this thing.
Seems well made and a great way to great "House Guests" on their arrival.
I may have to buy another if this one ever breaks.
I rated educational value medium because it DOES develop fine motor skills. REALLY !

  • Flying Monkey's are good fun
    By AD6M93LSKVRH6 on 2007-12-31
Flying monkey's are great fun for older kids, and even grown-ups. We had a great time Xmas morning with ages 15 to adult. Little children would probably have a difficult time firing the monkeys...it does take a bit of coordination, and you have to be careful where you shoot them, but the monkeys did liven things up!

  • My experiences with the slingshot monkey in the workplace
    By A1EPLTU03FAGJR on 2008-01-06
First off, I should point out that I work in a highrise office building on a floor that was intended to be a commodity trading floor. So it's wide open. There are no offices, there are no cubicles, there are just rows and rows of desks.

A coworker of mine likes to shoot rubber bands at people, oftentimes seated several rows of desks away. Rubber bands are funny, but slingshot monkeys are much funnier. So I ordered one and gave it to him as a Christmas gift.

The initial reaction of everyone in the vicinity was sheer delight. There was much laughter and joy. Everyone wanted a turn shooting the slingshot monkey at somebody. There was a good, solid 10 minutes worth of fun.

But, strangely, in a wide open workspace where people are trying to concentrate, the slingshot monkey doesn't have very long-lasting appeal.

  • Fun for an Adult Christmas toy
    By A1X21ZHD6GJDDF on 2008-01-07
My sons (in their 40s) and my Grandsons (in their mid twenty's) expect a toy every Christmas. Usually it is something they can shoot at each other (like marshmallows) However this year that was forbidden by my daughter so I decided to purchase the monkeys. Believe me there was a lot of screaming monkey's flying around the house. Even the Great Grandchildren joined in. I am so glad I decided on them.

  • Slingshot Flying Monkey
    By A16S8C1PA8W2KY on 2008-01-07
I bought this as a stocking stuffer for my son. It's been pretty durable and he's had a lot of fun with it. My only complaint is that the scream is so loud!

  • It'll make your baby scream
    By A10A4OLYDA71YU on 2008-01-12
Great product-guaranteed laughs when you watch your friends jump back in fear. Don't recommend trying to impress your infant with this cool new toy. They'll scream louder than the monkey (that guarantees more laughs).

  • Fun and a bit annoying
    By A254COWWSC55SQ on 2008-01-12
I bought for of these little flying monkeys, one for me at home, one for me at the office, one for the person that I share an office with, and a spare. I am glad I got the spare, because my boss could not stop laughing when we saw it, so I gave him one. The screatch is really loud. Like you can hear it a good 50' away easy, and it is kind of annoying after a while. But still fun!
