Baby's Best Friend By A4DRL0C16Q13Z on 2007-07-02
Jacques is one of Lamaze's best offerings! The peacock is light enough - and the feather panels thin enough - for little hands to grab, tug and pick up without easily dropping. The feather panels also provide several chewable surfaces for little ones who love to put everything in their mouth.
The shape of this toy also makes it easy to tuck into a car seat. While a lot of toys seem to fall out of the car seat once baby starts playing with them, the flatness of the feather panels and the flat bottom of the peacock body seem to help this toy stay in the seat. Also, the feather panels are easy for baby to reach out for an edge, grab and pull back into reach.
For these reasons, we made our peacock a "car only" toy so that our little one, who was not fond of car travel at 4 months, would have something he liked in the car. This toy was an immediate favorite even before our little one really became interested in these types of toys.
The back of the peacock feathers have different black and white panels which makes the toy interesting even when the toys happens to be upside down. The cute face and large eyes appealed to our little guy and were worthy of cues and smiles - a friend indeed. I could not be happier with this toy. Our favorite Lamaze character!
Lamaze makes great toys By AONXNUE8RMO0M on 2007-05-17
Around 10 weeks, my baby finally started noticing the Lamaze toys we had around the house - we had the Emily doll first - and now that is her ultimate favorite toy. I just purchased Jacques for her, and she loves him too. The back of the toy is patterns of black and white fabric, and has the crinkly sound babies seem to love. Each of the "feathers" has a different interest point - a squeaker, a soft bulb, a mirror, and satin touch ribbons. This is a really great deal, too - Babies R Us sells the same toy for $12.99 as of today.
Great Toy! By A5S5T8XFH6EV on 2007-11-04
We saw this in Babies-R-Us and our little baby couldn't stop laughing when she saw it. I think it's the combination of the BIG EYES, the squeaker in one of the wings, the mirror in another wing, the krinkly sounds and the bright colors.
The hook on top is useful for hanging from the carseat or from the swing -- however, if you are just trying to make Jacque dance for your baby, the hook kind of gets in the way but that is a minor note.
Overall, I highly recommend Jacque -- she has not tired of him yet and everytime she sees good ol' Jacque, her face lights up and she babbles at him.
I like it more than my baby By A30RCYJTRHS325 on 2007-07-09
When I first saw this peacock, I thought my baby would love its colors and textures (she has a similar toy, a firefly that she loves). Well, it turns out that she grabs and looks at it for a short while and then turns it down in favor of other things... I am still surprised she is not interested... but I still like it...
Our lad's favorite! By A3N3RYOHBSS8IH on 2007-11-26
I bought this toy on a whim for our little guy when he was about 10 weeks old, and it has been his favorite toy ever since. Whether he's chewing on Jacqes many wings, scrunching them to hear the crinkly noises, or just manipulating the many surfaces, he really keeps himself entertained! It's great to see such a wonderful toy, especially at this price. He's now almost 8 months old and he still loves it, although now that he's starting to appreciate things that make noise when he shakes them, other toys compete for his interest.
- Cute toy.
     By AR7IMPWEDRGHX on 2007-11-24
I bought this for my son when he was about a month or so old, and he really liked it. I took it everywhere with us, and it kept him entertained. Jacques comes complete with a mirror, a squeaker, taggies, lots of textures and colors, and a link so he can tag along. The entire back of Jacques' plumage consists of a variety of black and white patterns, which my son loved to stare at.
He is now 7 months, and doesn't play with it as much as he used to since he is more into musical and talking toys, the jumperoo, and is busy crawling and cruising...but Jacques continues to never be too far from my son's reach.
- We love Jacques!
     By A1LR00KL5BUO5Y on 2007-11-06
This little peacock is my 3 month-old's best friend. She's gotten very grabby with toys lately and Jacques is her favorite. He's light enough to fling around, and he makes the crinkly noises that she likes. And his feathers are thin enough for her to gum them, which is a big plus to her. Plus the back of his feathers have a vibrant black & white design that appeal to her as her vision is still developing.
Best of all though is the mirror on his top left "feather". That alone mezmorizes her and makes her crave Jacques. I'd buy a hundred of him if I had to! This is the best toy I've seen for this age group. Any baby's best friend!
- Wonderful Toy
     By AG7NVWZR2QLG7 on 2007-07-17
This toy is great and I highly recommend it. It is visually interesting on both sides, with color and texture on the front, then black and white patterns on the back of the peacock's "feathers." When your child tires of of one side, just flip it around!
- Happy Baby
     By A1YM28T00MQO03 on 2008-01-01
We got this for our newborn for Christmas, and she just loves it. She's 2 months old, and always smiles at it and coos. They don't show it, but the back of the peacock is black, white, and red - she loves the back as much as the front. I highly recommend this toy!
- Lame and boring
     By A36V3SNW7TPKR9 on 2008-08-19
Other than the flashy colors, this toy is a bummer! My son has virtually ignored this toy since day 1. Maybe he just doesn't get it. But I'd skip this one.
- not a hit with a 6 m/o
     By A1ARHKGXZ763ZD on 2008-10-29
We bought this for our 6-months-old son. It's not a hit. The problem is that the tail consists of very hard and large pieces that barely bend. The kid has a hard time grabbing the toy and cannot really manipulate with any elements. Nothing here can be stretched, squeezed, rolled, pulled -- unlike, say, those long legs or necks or tails in other similar toys. Our son can't even stick any part of this toy in his mouth! So, he understandably doesn't want to play with it. The peacock looks pretty, but you don't really want to touch it. Our kid loves the elefant, the giraffe, and the monkey made by Tiny Love.

     By A96G2OCB50TVA on 2007-10-29
Yet another great product by lamaze. Our son loves the peacock, he plays with it all the time. We clip it on to his carseat, jungle gym, and anythng else we can.
- Crinkle Crinkle
     By A2R9EVVWOCX018 on 2007-12-09
My son loves Jacques. He's enjoyed this toy since he first started batting at things and at 6 months old, its still in his must haves list. The variety of textures on the "feathers" continue to captivate him and he likes to explore both with his fingers and mouth.
- We love Jacques
     By A19O5B6EMS5ZM5 on 2007-12-10
I had initially purchased Jacques for Christmas for my 8 week old daughter. As soon as I showed her his black/white/red backside (4 weeks before christmas) she lit up and smiled- needless to say we gave our little girl an early christmas present. She adores Jacques. I would HIGHLY recommend this to any parent. (My sister's 6 month old loves it too) I know she'll adore it at least for the next year, the front side is sooo fun and cute. As soon as she sees colors we'll turn it around for her to enjoy!! This is a must for any baby or infant.
- Captivating!
     By A16WK4TAZD8HW7 on 2007-12-20
Our 5 month old has been enjoying this since he could focus his eyes! It hangs from the 'passenger handle' in the car and dangles in front of his car seat. He bats at it and stares at it. We've also clipped a pacifier to it -- so he can even grab and munch on the pacifier. As a baby who doesn't enjoy being in the car seat, this is a GREAT distraction and gives you a couple minutes until you reach the magic 45 mph to lull the baby to sleep. :)
- Perfect for 3 month old
     By A2YLQVDD8SPITZ on 2007-12-31
When my son was almost 3 months and and started figuring out he had hands, we attached this toy to his activity center above his head. It was instant success. He loves the bright colors, he would stare at them at watch it until he was able to grab it. Now, at 4 months. He grabs it and puts the feathers straight into his mouth. He loves the crinkly sounds. As he gets bigger, he seems to notice new things about it. We've also started using it in his car seat because he needed a toy in there that he liked to keep him from crying. An all around great toy for a little one.
- So cute and fun
     By AY9X29A6GWNP2 on 2008-01-14
Everyone needs little Jacques at their house. All my kids love this funny little baby toy. I bought it for my newest baby girl. She loves the colors on the front and the black and white patterns on the back. It is great for newer and older babies. Great buy!
- Great toy!
     By AXOCKR0LZRZVF on 2008-01-14
My son received this toy when he was 2 months old. He immediately began interacting with it~ smiling, cooing, and laughing! It's a great toy that is a hit with him every time he plays!
- A favorite toy
     By A1S7EI0LQ5U95E on 2008-01-19
My daughter picked this toy out herself at Babies R Us when she was 7 months old. There was a wall full of similar toys, but this one grabbed her attention and held it, even when her grandmother and I tried to show her different toys. A month later, it's still a favorite and can distract her when she's getting cranky. It's very cute.
I think it's nice that the back side of the toy has a black and white print on the feathers with a red backside for the bird. I think this would make it interesting for even younger babies.
- My 4mos old LOVES this toy!
     By A3DZVX57B7FSBN on 2008-01-22
My 4mos old son goes crazy over this toy, because it has "crunchy" feathers and the dimensions are perfect for little teething gums!
It clips onto my diaper bag or his carseat easily.
Very cute! Black & white designs on the back and bright colors on the front are great for babies this age!
AWESOME for a shower gift!
- Cute, Colorful Peacock
     By A1R28HVGK8NEWI on 2008-03-03
This Lamaze Jacques the Peacock, is so awesome. My 6 month old just loves playing with it, chewing it and loves listening to all the different sounds it makes. She is so amazed at the different color's.... I highy recommend this to everyone!
- Playful Peacock
     By AN9C6KONCLRIT on 2008-03-08
You wouldn't think this would be much of an entertainment toy for your child but it really is. My 5 month old just loves it. It makes that wonderful crinkle sound that babies love. It's colorful and cute. It also will clip onto his bouncy chair so it won't drop on the floor. This is a simple but fun toy.
- Bright & Colorful
     By A1S68LXSMWF6YO on 2008-03-13
I've found Amazon to have the best deals on Lamaze toys!
Jacques is cute, colorful, soft and has shaker beads inside him, a squeaker
puff ball on his left wing, a reflective mirror that distorts
on his right wing and crinkly sounding material on his wings.
His BIG eyes are embroidered. He has ribbon bits around a purple soft
corduroy puff ball on his left wing. His backside is black & white
polka dot, squares, wavy lines and small starburst prints.
I'm happy with this purchase and 2 other Lamaze toys on Amazon, but
plan to buy a variety of toys to stimulate my grandson's senses when he is born in May 08.
- What a cool toy
     By A2T09VT7R0PA4A on 2008-03-16
This is great for babies of different ages. It's great for a newborn because newborns will be fascinated by the black and white patterns on the back of the wings. It's also great for babies who are discovering the use of their hands and are engrossed by the things they pick up and put in their mouths.
I got this toy for my son was about 5 months old (he's almost 7 months old now). He loves to grab the wings that crinkles and explore the different colors, patterns, and textures. There is a lot going on in just one toy and it keeps my son busy because there's so much to look at and feel. I only wish I discovered it when he was a newborn so he could make better use of the black and white patterns on the back.
- Jacq the Peacock
     By AOKSBYXH49Q56 on 2008-03-28
My son is 10 weeks old and loves the peacock. No sooner had I gotten it out of the box he was all smiles. He babbles at it and plays with it daily. We hang it over his carrier and he bats at it entertaining himself for long periods of time. It is a wonderful toy that he will be able to grow with as he learns to grasp and grip objects, and the squeaker on the green eyespot is an especially nice touch!
- So Cute and Colorful!
     By A1URM6T75NSV23 on 2008-04-08
Just as cute as he appears in the picture. The backside of Jacques has black and white patterns on him which we are currently using with our newborn. He is able to "sit" on his own and looks darling displayed on our baby's bookshelf when not in use. The clip will come in handy when we take the toy out and can clip it either to the diaper bag or stroller. I really love this whole series of toys from Lamaze.
- Glad I bought this
     By ANOBHH8KNBK3A on 2008-04-13
My Lil' guy is just a few weeks old and already Jacques gets his attention. Not really able to mess with him too much yet but the black and white patterns on the back keeps him occupied with something to look at. I am sure he will get a lot of enjoyment out of this as he grows.
- Lamaze Peacock
     By A9CGP3W4H667F on 2008-04-19
Lamaze toys are the absolute best. My son is 4 months and has loved playing with this toy for about 2 months. We have it attached to the car seat. He likes best the crinkle noises that it makes.
- Baby loves this for a "long" time.
     By A1EOL2G35H1HQS on 2008-04-28
Our son loved looking at this toy when he was too young to reach out and grab it. Now that he is almost 7 months old, it is still a big favorite. He loves to chew on the wings and feel the textures. This toy is also a crowd favorite at playdates with even older children. This toy is well worth the money.
- A must have
     By AX7NZKEN9I9JT on 2008-05-12
This toy is absolutely adorable!!! The colors are so bright and there are lots of patterns and textures to stimulate baby.
