  • Solid but you better have skinny kids

    By AK95AUC8SRHMP on 2007-05-07
This high chair is easy to assemble and use, easy to clean and is not an eyesore. The wheel locks work fairly well. The one problem is that the tray itself has to be pushed pretty far towards the seat back in order to truly lock into place. If it is clicked onto the arms away from the seat, it either hangs loose enough to risk food falling or it won't lock at all. We tried several, it is not a problem with our particular chair, it is just a design quirk. If your child quite skinny, no problem. But if normal or chubby, the tray will likely push against their ribs as they get up to 10+ months old.

  • Good but expensive

    By AR72ICB4Z33DX on 2007-02-04
This is the only high chair I've used, but I'm quite happy with it. I have two complaints about it. The first is the fabric piping on the vinyl seat. The vinyl seat can be wiped off, but the piping on the seat needs to be washed. My second complaint is the price. Fisher Price makes a similar model that costs $40 less. It doesn't come with the tree toy and it doesn't have the casters (wheels). The toy is pretty lame. My son can't even reach any of the spinny things on it. The casters seem completely unneccessary. The chair doesn't weigh much and is easy to move around with the casters locked. I would buy the cheaper model if I were to buy another one. (I think the cheaper one doesn't have the fabric piping.)

After 7 kids in a sturdy Perego high chair (which I replaced the seat pad once & found a whole chair replacement another time on ebay), I was disapointed it would need to be replaced again for my 8th child. Since they no longer make the pads and I was not happy with the new style - or spending $200 . . . . I came here first to see what other options were out there.
Anyway - the first alternative I saw was this cute Rainforest chair! I was sold right away from the picture, the price, and the reviews! I quickly checked out some other chairs - but, nothing else came close. The Perego we had was sturdy, basic looking, white & chrome . . . . this time around we are going for cheap and fun! It is definitly more light weight - but it actually seems ok - sturdy enough! The seat could use some more padding - I'm going to take the extra little pillow rest from the car seat and stick it under the seat and that should work. We do not have the tray problem that others have mentioned - it is snug and secure. One reason, though, I did not give 5 stars is that there is no place to hang the tray when the toy is in use! Really irritating. What is funny, though, is that you can hang the toy on the back of the chair - the whole thing sticks out horizontally . . .
Everyone loves helping in the entertainment department with the toy. The harness was a great idea! Our previous chair did not recline so we are looking forward to this feature . . . In my opinion wheels are essential - 16 years ago Perego was about the only one with this feature - they really come in handy.
As far as clean-up goes all looks well except the piping - why did they have to use fabric? And looks - well it's very attractive, but - even my husband frowned at the beige instead of white. So, these two little things in addition to the lack of a tray hanger got it only 4 stars.
Overall - this is my favorite new baby thing! Now - I think we'll also try the jumperoo!
11/20/07: UPDATE: Now that we have been using this highchair for a few months I have found that the self-locking wheels are driving me crazy! No one ever goes to the trouble to actually lock them - but, several times a day I find myself fighting the chair across the kitchen floor only to inspect each wheel and then unlock which ever ones have locked themselves.
AND we did get the Jumperoo which the baby enjoys - especially now that she is a little older.

  • Best highchair that I had to return... comparison with Evenflo Majestic Discovery high chair

    By AM0JBNH9CFA9L on 2007-07-02
I have to agree with the reviewer that said 'better not have a chubby child.'
My child was very tall at almost 1 year, 95% for his height at 31 3/4". And I found that the heightest notch in the back of the chair, that the straps could go thru were lower than the top of his shoulder and even when I had the straps fully extended to there maximun length, they just barely fit him, it was tight!
Also the footrest is one molded piece with the seat hence, not adjustable, just shy of fitting him at 1 year, so in a few months... forget it.
In addition, though my child isn't chubby, his leg fit a bit snuggle, and the 2 locking points of the tray were either cutting into his stomach or too far away.
I ended up dissembling and return it.
    So, why 4 stars?

Because, I exchanged it for an Evenflo Majestic Discovery high chair in Portebello and regret it everyday.

    1. The Evenflo straps are much longer and its a MUCH bigger seat with adjustable footrest but the tray is so high I wonder if they even tested it on a child....

    2. The Rainforest tray removes as easily as the Evenflo but in the Evenflo, the leg divider is attached to the tray itself so you have to watch for pinching, though its roomier than the Rainforest.

    3. This chair was beautiful! The material is easy to clean vinyl though feels cloth-like, with very cute Pixar-like animals on it. The Evenflo is a pretty heavy duty plaid cloth, surface cleanable but with a real mess you have to laundry.

    4. The toy tree was great fun, it snapped and unsnapped off pretty easy. The Evenflo came with a toy also but it was exetremely big & heavy and only had 1 wimpy suction cup to attach it to the tray, which never worked so we never use it on the high chair. What a waste.

    5. The Evenflo's tray seems to tip toward the baby, which is a stupid design. Its also very large and heavy, unlike the rainforest where the whole thing is pretty compact. The evenflo has 2 'parental organizer holders' that slide out of the tray but I can only get 1 to come out, I have never been able to get the other one out.

    6. Also the rainforest back incline, which we use often after dinner, is intuitive and easy. You lift the yellow handle and pull your hand back to desired adjust incline. With the evenflo you push Down its yellow handle, which usually sticks so makes a noise when it releases, then you adjust by pulling your hand back, which is not intuitive. Its not a one hand release, I usually have to brace with my other hand. Plus, it makes a large creaking noise as it releases, everytime, which wakes my baby up! Groan. The rainforest was silent and smooth.

    7. However, just like the tiger on the rainforest chair, the evenflo has a very cute fishy and turtle that hook onto the tray.

    8. Overall the Evenflo is larger, because it has a wider sweeping frame and I guess the Evenflo looks a bit less childish.

    9. On both chairs, I had a problem with the locks on the individual wheels, just locking on their own when I go to move them, so you do have to keep unlocking them sometimes.

Final thoughts, Fisher Price actually tested this on a child, perhaps not my child but its well thought out. Just please make sure you test your child in this chair before purchasing if you have a bigger than average or fast growing child. Hope this helps!

  • Fisher Price Rainforest Healthy Care High Chair

    By A26349V2FXDRA1 on 2007-01-24
Well the first chair I bought was a Graco Harmony 2 years ago (the pooh one from walmart) Though over all I was very pleased with it I was disapointed to realize LATER that the one handed tray release did not work properly. I really loved that chair but between the tray not working (you could still use 2 hands)& it not wanting to slide all the way up to our table (the legs are close to the end) unless I removed the infant bar (but had to put it back each time to use the tray) being pregnany with number 2 I decided to look for a new one.

I looked around a bit & found this chair at target... I LOVED the design & $100 wasn't too bad, but more then the $75 I had spent on the Graco... I was pleased to find one used on Craigslist for $50... it was only a month old but they just didn't have room for it in their tiny apartment. I brought it home & my son LOVES it!!!! Some of the great features...

*Easy to adjust & remove harness system (also all ATTACHED... so you can loose on of 5 straps!)
*Bigger wheels, which can even roll on carpet!
*A very popular toy that is easier to use then the previous model aquarium one
*SUPER Easy to fold & very compact to store!!! Fits in out linen closet when not in use! Legs folded, seat at low position its ABOUT 3-3.5" tall & only about 18" wide... MUCH smaller then others.
*Very light weight & a slightly smaller straightline frame... easier for moving around the house
*7 GREAT height adjustments & super easy to change them!
*slimmer design & adjustable height allow it to slid up to most tables & counters

The best part... my 18 month old LOVES the fact that when its lowered to the lowest height he can climb into it himself!!!! He loves being a big boy.

This is totally worth the $100 bucks new, I would recommend it to anyone!

  • It works!
    By AADU6C9XVX3MB on 2007-04-16
How much can you write about a high chair? My daughter fits in the seat. It looks comfortable, though I haven't tried it myself yet.

The tray goes on and off fairly easy with one hand. Looking at the hardware though doesn't give me much confidence this will last more than one child.

The tray insert works well and makes clean up much easier. Would be nice if they included 2 inserts, but I guess just having one makes sure I clean it sooner.

My daughter loves the toy that attaches to the tray. It really helps keep her amused while we prep her food and she goes out of her way to hunt it down when she's just playing and not in the seat.

Assembly was fairly easy and the instructions were clear. I was amazed they were able to break this down into as many parts as they did. If you liked Erector Sets as a kid you'll like putting this together. It took about 30 minutes and hardly any foul language.

  • LOVE THIS CHAIR!!!
    By A1R6HYRTA0AWS6 on 2006-11-09
My son turned 4 months a few weeks ago, so we went to BRU to purchase the high chair I had used with my first son.. the Perego Prima Pappa. Then I saw this being put together and the colors caught my eye, so I purchased it, brought it home and put it together within 30 minutes. It's pretty easy to put together. When my son woke up the next day we put him in it and he LOVED it, once I put the tree house on it he began laughing at it. The tree house is very easy to remove as well as attach to the chair, plays certain nursery beats along with animal sounds. It reclines back so he can drink his bottle in it while I am in the kitchen. I love the way it rolls around.. only downfall is that it seems to lock on it's own a lot!

  • BEWARE if you have hardwood floors
    By A3T16ND4LS14Y6 on 2008-01-24
I have an older version of this highchair and loved it until moving into my new home. The wheels on this chair are destructive to a hardwood floor. After the highchair rolling back and forth on my maple hardwood for 8 months I have serveral gouge marks on my floor. My flooring people were out and said that it was due to the highchair not having rubber wheels. The wheels are a hard plastic. They suggested I replace the wheels ASAP or get a office chair mat to put under the high chair. I searched high and low for replacement casters buy it is a non-standard size. When I called Fisher-Price they offered free replacement casters like the ones on the highchair. The operator also commented that she has never heard of this problem before. I find it hard to believe that I am the only person that has had this happen, since it is recomended that you use soft rubber casters on hardwood floors.

Hopefully with a good buffing we can get the scrathes and ridges to fade. I am going to invest in a new highchair from Peg Perego. They have one listed as having rubber wheels safe for hardwood floors.

Other than this, which is a biggy, I really liked the highchair. I just wanted to warn other parents and homeowners about the potential damage to hardwood floors so that they don't have a brand new house with marred

  • Great for baby!
    By A1OF2IUXE2DBO on 2007-01-04
I love this high chair. It is really easy to clean and my baby loves the bright colors. It comes with two toys, a teething toy and a rainforest multi-sound tree. The teething toy is heavy and can be a hazard if you little one likes to wave it around like mine. The tree is wonderful and keeps her interest while I get things ready/clean up. I use it on a hardwood floor and it rolls very easily. The tray sometimes doesn't lock into place, so you have to double check it. All in all, a great chair for baby.

  • Great Chair
    By A302JEPH6HRPPL on 2007-03-16
I looked around a lot before choosing this chair. We love it. Easy to put together. Very easy to use. My daughter was three months old the first time she sat in it. She fits well and has pleanty of room for when she is bigger. Height adjustment is nice. It folds up well, though it would be nice if it had a lock to keep it folded. Its very padded and you can wipe everything but the piping, but thats not a problem for me. The straps are nice and adjust well. My husband can't think of anything negative to say about it and neither can I. Well worth the money.

  • Approved by my tough little critic
    By A1R6RQW82QQ3BO on 2007-04-10
This is a great product and purchasing it at Amazon was a great deal. Not only was it the lowest price that I found, but I got free shipping and I had it in my hand within 3 days. It came in about a million pieces so it does take a little time to set up, but the instructions were clear and I found it to be relatively easy to put together. The vinyl seat and removable tray make clean up a snap too. The real critic was my daughter who is VERY particular about her toys, and she loves it. She likes to turn herself around to look at the design on the seat cover, and she is thoroughly entertained by the jungle toy. My one word of caution....beware "tomatoe sauce" on the vinyl, it can stain it. :)

  • This highchair is the best out there!
    By AD0HHIF680L5V on 2006-11-13
We just got this highchair for our infant son. It is amazing! Much nicer than the prima pappa highchair we had for our daughter 2 years ago. The seat is so colorful and the toy is great, really handy when you are cooking or need to entertain baby in a secure place. VERY easy to clean and the price can't be beat! Babies R Us seems to be the only store to have it in stock right now. I highly recommend it!

  • Rainforest High chair
    By AIGG6PL4Z62JC on 2007-01-10
We have had this high chair for 2 months now and we love it. My daughter is on the short side and we had a different brand chair that did not fit her well at all. This chair comes with a cushion for smaller children which really helped with her positioning during early feedings. This chair is easy to to use, clean and care for. The toy that it comes with is great to keep my daughter busy while I am making her meals. It also occupies her while we eat our meals which is priceless. My only negative was the many pieces it came with that needed to be assembled. We would definitely recommend this product.

  • Exactly What My Niece Needed
    By A2MYPCNROW8TFF on 2007-01-16
This high chair is excellent! It's exactly what we needed for my niece. I had read the reviews on the high chair before I purchased it. I was not disappointed just like all the other consumers. It was very easy to assemble if the instructions were followed exactly. Easy to clean up and the singing toy that lights up is perfect for my niece to play with and to keep her busy. I would highly recommend this high chair for everyone.

  • Healthy Care High Chair
    By A36OELE8RQ9445 on 2007-01-21
This is awesome product. Our child likes to play with rainforest tray. Its easy to assemble. We liked height adjustment, chair has 7 levels of height and 3 levels of back adjustments.

Shoulder strap belt is adjustable but chest strap belt is not adjustable. It may be little inconvenience for smaller babies under 9 months old.

  • Best Highchair
    By A3M3P5BMU1HJNG on 2007-03-09
I bought this highchair for my 5 month old son after doing lots of research. I agree with what I read that this is the best highchair for the money. I have not found anything worng with it or had any problems. It is easy to use, especially with one hand and my son loves the toy that came with it. It is easy to assemble only took about 5-10 minutes. I would recommend this highchair to anyone.

  • Love this High Chair
    By A1GUTJXG4ADMX on 2007-03-21
I bought this chair for my third child and wish I would've had it for the first two as well. It is easy to assemble, easy to use and easy to clean. I like the recline feature and 5 point strap because my baby could sit/lay in it at a fairly young age. I love the wheels because I could rock him with my foot and talk to him while doing dishes or making dinner. The one hand release on the tray is a dream for Moms who could use eight hands! My son seems to enjoy the toys, too. I only wish it came with extra trays.

  • Vinyl stains easily
    By A13M1KPVZSYZY1 on 2007-07-15
I bought this highchair because it is cute and and the cushion is vinyl instead of fabric. What I have noticed is that the snap on tray, though convenient, is easily pulled off by my 1 yr old. When he didn't know how to pull it off, I ended up having to wash the bulky tray underneath as well as the top tray since it doesn't wrap completely over the bottom tray. This ends up to be a lot of washing and cleaning. The vinyl does not resist stains well even though I clean the vinyl after each feeding. If I feed my son anything with marinara sauce and it gets on the vinyl, I can't clean it off at all. So my new highchair has red spots all over the vinyl now. My son loves the toy that comes with it though and it is a good distraction for him if he's not interested in eating.

  • This chair ROCKS!!!
    By A1WURK3G7U0K76 on 2006-12-29
The best chair out there. It has many height adjustments, recline positions which are very easy to use. The wheels are a great feature as you can move around with it very easily. Other people have commented about them getting locked easily but I haven't had that problem. They are easy to unlock anyways so that wouldn't be a problem. The toy is very entertaining for kids they love to play with it and it helps a lot when you need to prepare food. The five point harness is great and it can be removed easily and wash them this is a great feature as it always gets stuck with food.No ruffles to deal with and the fabric of the chair is easily cleaned. By far I AM VERY HAPPY to have purchased this chair and my son also.

  • This is the best investment I have made!!!
    By AQA0CKOEZCE7G on 2007-02-18
I just bought this for my 8 month old son. I had a highchair that I had used with my other 2 sons, but I needed something that folded up and was more conveinant. This highchair is wonderful.

I bought it when it was 89.99 and thought that was a lot on money. Now it is 85.00. But it is a really nice highchair. It does fold up and can fit into a coset or even just sit in a corner. My son loves the toys that it has with it. The diswasher safe liner is also a plus.

You will not go wrong with this highchair. It is worth the money-especially if you are planning on passing it down to other children. It was also very easy to put together. It only took about 15 minutes or less.

You will not regret this purchase for your child. It is a good value for the money and it gives me time to do things I need to do while he sits in it and plays. That is priceless!!!!

  • Best High Chair
    By AYKWHPWNA2ODG on 2007-03-09
My daughter and I love this high chair. I love the 5 point harness and large soft seat cushion and the one hand recline feature. She loves the bright colors and the toy that clicks right onto the tray. No other chair offers that for the price!

  • Very Nice!
    By A1ZZRI1JPIP97C on 2007-03-24
My 4 1/2 month baby girl fits well in this. I was a bit hesitant at first not being sure if she would fit but it all fits very nicely. Make sure you have a decent screwdriver. Will take about 30 mins to set it up.

My last chair was a Grace and that was about 8 years ago and chairs have come a long way. Much nicer fit and very smooth to move around if needed. The toy was just the icing on the cake.

Would not even think twice about recommending this. This chair is considered one of the best chairs for babies.

  • Greart highchair
    By A1SGAXWI7Q0L0N on 2007-05-27
We love this high chair! I looked for a long time for a high chair but could not find one that I liked. Then this one came out, and I bought it right away. Here is my pros and cons:

    Pros:

-It is a very cute jungle design.
-The vinyl padding is easy to wipe down.
-The toy is GREAT. My daughter was 5.5 months when she started in this chair, and she took to the toy right away. Now she knows how to hit the buttons to play the music and to spin the wheel at the top. It keeps her occupied while I am in the kitchen or we are eating.
-It comes with an extra tray that can go in the dishwasher.
-The wheels make it easy to move around.

    Cons:

-It is a little hard to slide the tray into place. I generally leave the tray on at the farthest setting, put her in the highchair, and then slide it closer to her to lock her in.

I would highly recommend this high chair!

  • Easy to assemble and use
    By AEY33FJ17F4U1 on 2007-06-11
Good product. Easy to assemble. The toy that the baby plays with while in the chair is a great distraction during meal time. Easy to clean and not too many grooves.
the only complaint is the wheels. the locks seem to work a little too well, and i find myself trying to unlock the wheels all the time to move it in my home.
the adjustable chair height and the three adjustable back rest positions is great for feeding or for milk time.

  • Nice for the $$$
    By A1LVK0J7P0A6LO on 2007-08-06
I'm very happy with my purchase. It was kind of a pain to put together and there are still two screws that I can't get tightened all of the way (the reason for four stars), but overall, I think this high chair is the best deal. I have heard others mention that the fabric is hard to clean. I see what they mean, but I don't care. It isn't that hard to clean (it is not machine washable), just wipe it off with a rag. The straps are fabric and will likely get food stuck on them, but I bet these could be machine washed as long as they were not put in the dryer. My son and his cousin have both spent time playing with the toy, which is not as impressive as the pictures make it seem, but is still a really cool addition. Oh yeah, one other negative is that this chair seems to be geared towards older children. My son cannot reach the crackers at the end of the tray, but he can't see the crackers at the very front. I have to move them all to the middle portion or he won't be able to eat them. He does just fine though! And he will only get better as he grows into it. If you are thinking about purchasing this item, I do recomend it over other high chairs I have seen.

I absolutely love the highchair. I purchased it for my grandson who is here two days a week. I am able to use it for entertainment as well as for eating. I would highly recommend it.

  • Pleasantly pleased
    By A3GJUT3MBVZY9V on 2007-08-09
We're happy with our purchase. My son likes the detachable tree toy thingy. It doesn't really
make logical sense to have a detachable tray since the entire seat is going to get dirty anyway.
I used it to gather all his eating supplies and take it to him. I should mention that this high chair is
    really easy to assemble.

  • Worth the Price, Just for the Toy
    By A3TTRBWWU0QN7Y on 2007-08-11
My son just started eating rice, and after checking Amazon for reviews, this is the chair we had to purchase. I'm so glad we did. While the highchair is great, the toy attachment is what really impresses us. My son loves sitting on the floor and playing with the spinning tree, while listening to the catchy music. I think I like this toy as much as he does! Oh, and the high chair is great too! :)

  • I am pleased whih the Fishre-Price Rainforest Healthy Care High Chair.
    By A1JJDIP7BOT62D on 2007-08-13
I am pleased with the Fisher-Price Rainforest Healthy Care high Chair. There is only one thing I wish was different, and that is the fabric in the cover, it is great to look at, but it makes my little girl sveat a lot.
We live in Iceland, and I hear that it is not as hot here as it is in other country's.
But the chair and the toy's I like.

  • Keeps baby entertained!
    By A1P5VCJVV6JA0Z on 2007-08-16
This highchair is pretty cool! It had all the features I was looking for. Easy to clean, comfortable for baby, folds up, has wheels, sturdy, and keeps my child entertained. She'll normally play for about 20-30 minutes after eating with the cool little toys that are attached. The only issues I had with it was it's a pain to put together. Overall, though we are very happy with it!
