Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmasx$13.45
    (45 reviews)
Best Price: $18.98 $13.45
Not only is The Nightmare Before Christmas one of the best musicals of the past two decades; it may well be Danny Elfman's masterpiece, successfully integrating his main influences (from Cab Calloway to Nino Rota) into a fantastic whole. The first disc of this reissue features the original soundtrack, its songs still teetering between dark humor and poetic flights of fancy; this so-called kids' music is at least as sophisticated and skilled as anything you're likely to hear on Broadway. The second disc includes demo versions of four songs on which Elfman plays and sings everything, and five new covers of some of Nightmare's best-loved songs. Marilyn Manson successfully applies his spooky Weimar-circus style on "This Is Halloween" while Panic! At the Disco's lushly orchestrated take on the same tune is closer to the original. Fiona Apple's poignant "Sally's Song" is enhanced by very nice string charts, and She Wants Revenge does a disco take on "Kidnap the Sandy Claws." Best perhaps is Fall Out Boy's cover of "What's This?" which sounds like an unexpected cross between the Beach Boys and Queen. A highly recommended set. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

A steal if you don't own the soundtrack already....still a bargain if you do By AXV9GS0TMSVW on 2006-11-03
I was iffy about purchasing this as I already owned a copy of the sountrack. The remastering, however, is top notch. Nothing more needs to be said of the great soundtrack itself.
The second disc is a mixed bag. There are two really good covers, one that's okay, and two that are just deplorable. Marilyn Manson and Danny Elfman is a match made in heaven (and I use that term VERY loosely). Manson's approach to the vocals encapsulates his own style while maintaining every piece of integrity of the original. I've never been a fan of Fiona Apple, but the emotional breadth given to Sally's Song deserves accolades. It's beautiful, taking the song to new heights. Fall Out Boy does a credible "What's This," which is fun, even if its nothing spectacular. She Wants Revenge, still trying to capitalize on the fame of Interpol and the newfound love of Post punk industrial is montonous in their version of Kidnap the Sandy Claws. I've concluded that all She Wants Revenge songs sound the same. Panic At the Disco give us a weird, overdramatic version of This Is Halloween. Its failure is that it is not fun, and it's a fun song.
Then there are the demos. These are fantastic, if for no other reason, then because Elfman does all the vocals himself. There is a note in the liner notes saying "All vocals by Danny Elfman" in regards to the demos. He does some amazing work, probably fooling with many synths and vocal layering. This is Halloween and Kidnap the Sandy Claws really show this. Of particular interest though are the cuts that were done to Making Christmas. It's fun to hear a version that was clearly a work in progress. Despite these being demos and Elfman probably only needing to provide a guiding vocal, he really has fun with these. While Oogie Boogie's Song is no match for the version that appears on the soundtrack, Elfman is clearly having a good time paying homage to one of his heroes, Cab Calloway. Overall, at less than 15 bucks, this collection is a steal.
Clearer Mix By A2NW5NW17XZG02 on 2006-10-26
I bought this edition for the bonus disc and the 3D cover, but I am also pleased to say that the new mix of the original soundtrack is cleaner, more clear, more fun to listen to. Maybe it is too subtle a difference for casual listeners, for me it is newly fresh.
The bonus disc is great especially for the Elfman demos.
Wonderful Treat For Halloween or Christmas By A2CA07CQOO6SVS on 2006-10-30
I've fallen in love with the music from The Nightmare Before Christmas, this is always my weakness of mine when it comes to my favorite movies. I never really watched The Nightmare Before Christmas when it first came out, I was only 2 years old. Though, I do remember a few things in it. I wanted to actually see it, so I decided to go see NBC 3-D. It blew my mind, this movie was perfect for 3-D! Just amazing! Yes, well enough of my life story.
Of course the first CD, the original soundtrack, is fun to listen to, but I do have favorites like "Kidnap the Sandy Claws" and "Oogie Boogie's Song".
But the second CD I was a little weary of and excited because:
A. I don't listen to those artists
B. I was looking forward to Danny Elfman's demos
I was completely in shock of what I heard! Although I love the originals, the bonus tracks were good, too. The track that really stood out was Fiona Apple singing "Sally's Song", her voice was perfect for it, so chilling and haunting. Fall Out Boy, who I really depise, did a good rendition of "What's This". But why did She Wants Revenge go and completely mutiliate my favorite song "Kidnap the Sandy Claws"? That's the only horrible track.
The Danny Elfman demos were a complete treat. I liked his version of "Oogie Boogie's Song", although I like the deepness of Ken Page's voice in the original.
Overall, this CD is one of the best soundtracks you could buy, I highly recommend it for fans of the movie.
Bonus Tracks worth the money for fans! By A2UHJQ10ES9GEB on 2006-10-26
I definitely can't say anything about the original soundtrack that hasn't been said thousands of times. It's a great soundtrack for a great movie. I owned the soundtrack already, but when this version came out for the 3D release of the movie (which by the way was very fun to watch!) I had to pick it up.
About The Bonus Tracks:
This Is Halloween (Marilyn Manson) - Excellent! I like some of MM's other music, but over all I'm not a huge MM fan. This song really works well for him. I was surprised. I actually bought this album based on the short blurb of the song that Amazon had on the site, and I am not disappointed.
Sally's Song (Fiona Apple) - I am really not a fan of Fiona Apple at all. I have yet to enjoy anything she has done - until now. This was a very well executed rendition of Sally's Song. Deeply mournful & full of longing.
What's This? (Fall Out Boy) - I didn't care much for this. It sounded like it was inspired by Schoolhouse Rock (which I like) crossed with Dr Demento (which I love) but kind of fails the execution. It's too frenetic and doesn't improve on the original at all.
Kidnap the Sandy Claws (She Wants Revenge) - This reminded me of some of the music I listened to while in the England dance scene. I like the instrumentation they did on this version. It's somewhat techno and very interesting. I think it'll grow on me some. Edited 10/31/06 This has definitely grown on me, it's a very amusing rendition.
This Is Halloween (Panic! At the Disco) - I'm not sure what I think of this one. It's cute and pop-ish. I was amused at the choir-type bits and the tinny music-box nature of the background music. It doesn't add much to the song, but it is an amusing take on the popular song.
Making Christmas, Oogie Boogie's Song, This Is Halloween, Kidnap the Sandy Claws (Demos -Danny Elfman) - All of the Danny Elfman demos are great. Fun, light and amusing as heck. I loved hearing him doing all the voices and cues, especially in Oogie Boogie's Song & Kidnap the Sandy Claws. Well worth the price of purchase if you're a fan. It's like seeing character sketches, this sort of behind the scenes/beginning of the process information is always pretty nifty.
3 Stars based on the Bonus Material ALONE! By A3RKU6L903M1LK on 2006-10-25
Since the original score of the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack has been covered many times, this will be a review of the bonus disc.
If I were to rate Elfman's oringal I'd give it a 4, they're great songs and easily stand out away from the movie on their own. However, I'm giving this a 3 star based solely on it's bonus material.
The remakes are simply atrocious. She Wants Revenge just stumbles and mutters under his breath in the same monotone voice. I listened to their version of "Kidnap the Sandy Claws" only once and that's all I can stand, I fought every urge to change it even then.
Panic! at the Disco's version of "This is Halloween" is very boring, they have some pretty good highlights, but just like SWR he just mumbles through with the same tone. Did they even care about the source material? Fall Out Boy was a little bit more listenable than the other 2 mentioned, but they don't do the original song justice at all. Maybe it's because the songs sound odd out of context, or maybe it's just that they don't sound like the songs were treated with respect. I don't know, but it doesn't work at all.
On a more pleasing note I was happy with Marilyn Manson's cover of "This is Halloween". I've never been a huge fan of Manson's, but this song works for him. It is of course very dark and macabre and Elfman himself wanted Manson to collaborate with him on this project. The highlight on this special edition is Fiona Apple's "Sally's Song", she brings such a beautiful and haunting sadness to the song. The original song was always great and Catherine O'Hara did a great job for the movie, but if you were to take ONE song out of this movie that could have been made a single on it's own I believe it would have been "Sally's song". Kudo's Fiona! My favorite track on the 2nd CD and alone worth the $15 I paid for the soundtrack.
The rest of the CD is a pure bonus, rare Elfman demos of various songs from the movie. It is interesting because every note, cue, lyric and voice was carried out by Danny himself. These are stripped down, raw versions of what was ultimately used in the movie. Even with the unrefined sound of these demo recordings, they are still 100% better than some of the recent aforementioned covers.
I find it hard to pinpoint just who Disney was trying to target this CD for.
I can understand getting some currently popular bands together to try getting a younger crowd, but then to include Manson and Apple kinda offsets the trend. I doubt very seriously fans of Manson would by this CD for his one song. The Demo recordings were to appeal to the die hard fans and thank God for them. The entire 2nd CD is hit & miss.
For fans who bought the original Nightmare Before Christmas score, I'd say there probably is enough here to warrant purchasing the same thing again...though you may want to try iTunes to avoid the most of the garbage.
- The soundtrack is amazing; the bonus disc is for fans.
     By A3G3KPD2APHV2V on 2006-10-25
To tie in with the rerelease of "The Nightmare Before Christmas" in 3D, Disney has brought out a new version of the soundtrack, complete with a second disc of covers and demos of the film's songs. The soundtrack alone is worth the price of admission by itself; the value of the second disc will depend on how much you like the original soundtrack or the artists performing the covers.
The first disc, the film's original soundtrack, has been reviewed ad infinitum and I doubt I could say something new about it. Danny Elfman's soundtrack is a thing of beauty, with lyrics and music that carry the film's storyline perfectly. The one song that features Ken Page - "Oogie Boogie's Song" - is the definition of scene-stealer, and Elfman shines as Jack, particularly in "Jack's Lament" and "What's This?" I'm disappointed that Disney chose to remove the instrumental "Bonus Theme Medley" that was at the end of the original soundtrack, but the track bordered on redundancy and the rest of the soundtrack is fully intact.
The real draw here, at least for the fans of the film, is the second disc. The first five tracks are covers of some of Danny Elfman's songs. Of the covers, I was most impressed by Panic! At The Disco's fun take on "This Is Halloween;" maybe more than any of the others, the band's sound shows through while remaining faithful to the original. Fiona Apple's "Sally's Song" is another highlight. I was never struck by the original track and I'm not a huge fan of Apple, but the track drew me in to the point where I lost my place in the book I was reading.
The other three covers are a bit of a mixed bag. Marilyn Manson's version of "This Is Halloween," while enjoyable on its own, doesn't hold up as well when placed next to the P!ATD track that follows it on the album. Fall Out Boy's "What's This?" is a respectable cover, but the song is lacking the emotion that Elfman's Jack had, causing the track to lose a large part of its appeal. She Wants Revenge is the biggest departure of the lot; their "Kidnap the Sandy Claws" is almost unrecognizable after it's rewritten as a techno/dance track. It's growing on me slowly, but again, if you're not a fan of the band, your reaction may differ.
The demos are all performed by Danny Elfman, who layered his voice and used a synthesizer to get what you'll hear here. The most interesting of the lot is "This Is Halloween." While a third version of the track wasn't really required, this version of the track is actually sung in large part by Elfman as Jack, giving it an entirely different sound than the film version. The "Oogie Boogie's Song" demo is also worthwhile because Ken Page did the final version; while Elfman gives the old college try, his Oogie just can't match the deep, rich tones of Page's bag of bugs. The remaining demos are enjoyable but not dramatically different from the versions on the first disc.
It's worth noting that, if you buy the album from Best Buy, the pressing that's currently out has an extra two demos on it: "Town Meeting Song" and "What's This?" are included on the disc, boosting the total number of tracks to eleven. Unfortunately, even with the two extra tracks, the bonus disc just barely reaches a length of 40 minutes (meaning that this version is even shorter, approximately 35 minutes). Including some of Elfman's other demos or more covers would have been appreciated, especially since they are the selling point for those of us who already owned the soundtrack.
In the end, I very strongly recommend the purchase of the album. The soundtrack by itself is one of the best that either Danny Elfman or Disney has been involved in, and the addition of covers and demos on the second disc makes this album a great value. If you've already got the original version of the soundtrack, I'd sample the tracks before you buy; the covers and demos were a worthwhile investment for me, but the length of the second disc is reason enough to think again before purchasing the album just for the bonus disc. Overall, though, the sheer quality of the material overcomes any shortcomings, and the quality is justification enough for purchasing the album.
- The covers are awesome...worth the full price
     By A3OND36Q71G76D on 2006-12-09
Even if you already have the soundtrack, you should definitely buy this special version for the covers. The demos are interesting, but not really something you'll listen to repeatedly. The covers, on the other hand, are ALL very fun. Admittedly, the weakest is probably the She Wants Revenge song. It's still fun, but it isn't up to the level of the other four. Manson, obviously, is a perfect fit for a gothic soundtrack, but surprisingly, the more upbeat covers by Fallout Boy and Panic at the Disco are a lot of fun as well. I've heard some people complain about the Fiona Apple track, but I think it comes down to whether you like Fiona Apple or not. Her cover is beautiful from my vantage point. All in all, the covers put a whole new gloss on the songs they imitate and give the vocals to some really talented bands. If you often find the soundtrack stuck in your head, this collection is a must buy.
- The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly
     By ATQBMWQQCYC2Q on 2006-11-26
As a major Nightmare Before Christmas fan, I was very excited to get this soundtrack. I listened to it with an open mind, and found most of the covers were actually pretty good.
"This is Halloween" done by Marylin Manson. Part of "the good." I am not a big fan of Manson, but I love the beat he chose, and I love how he gave different roles different voices. The music definitely sounds somewhat "punk," but it works. I love the drums and electric guitar.
"Sally's Song" done by Fiona Apple. This is definitely "the bad." While I liked it, I feel she has too deep a voice to do this one properly, and she sounded a little whiny in some places. A slightly faster pace might have helped. The background music, though, was very lovely.
"What's This?" done by Fall Out Boy. Another "good." This one was a lot of fun to listen to. I love the use of piano and jingle bells at the beginning, and then the electric guitar coming in. I think that since the original version is fast paced, that is probably why they can get away with the use of eletric guitar. You can tell the band is having fun with it. I found myself dancing along unintentionally.
"Kidnap the Sandy Claws" done by She Wants Revenge. This one takes the cake for "the ugly." This was my favorite song in the movie, and they absolutely murdered it. They start out with this beat that you hear in a lot of punk and techno songs. They fail to use the original tune, have only one person singing most of it, and to make it worse, the singing is monotonous and slow. "Kidnap the Sandy Claws" practically depends on a fast pace. The only part I enjoyed at all was the part in the middle where for about ten seconds, they played a slightly warped version of the original tune. I actually skipped this one after the first verse when I first listened to it, then forced myself to suffer through it to see if it would get any better. It did not. I would not be surprised if She Wants Revenge were found dead one morning with lollipops shoved down their throats and a note in childish writing saying "We paid back the favor. ---LSB". Yes, it was that horrible.
"This is Halloween" done by Panic! At the Disco. The top of "the good," and by far my favorite of the covers. It begins and ends with chimes that come straight from the Nightmare Before Christmas musical snowglobes (and I hould know---I have seven), then crescendos into the main song. I love how they use classic instruments like flutes, French horns, violins, and trumpets throughout it. Another treat is hearing any "individual" part (like the Shadow on the Moon or the One Under Your Bed) sung in these whispery, slightly choir-like vocals.
For the Elfman Demos, I basically have the same opinion for all of them: it was a treat getting to hear them. A lot of them had deleted verses and references to the orignal script (for example, during "Kidnap the Sandy Claws," Danny's voice went high during Lock's verses, probably recorded back when Lock and Shock had each other's roles in the original script, but were switched later). I loved hearing him changing voices for different characters.
I want to give this CD a five, I really do, but with the "Kidnap the Sandy Claws" cover and Fiona Apple's whining, it does not deserve it. The rest, though, definitely save the CD. Those two songs aside, this CD is definitely worth the money to get.
- Best cover work you will ever hear!
     By A1BS14QMBGJIGT on 2006-10-25
This disc includes the origianl soundtrack which is fabulous but the bonus dsic is where the real gold is! The 5 covers songs are so worth it! My faveorite is Fall Out Boys version of "What's This?" Which then leads into a sweet "Kidnap The Sandy Claws" by She Wants Revenge which honestly I didn think I would like but I LOVE! Make this your first purchase on AMAZON.COM
- Awesome addition
     By on 2006-11-02
the movie has always been a favorite of mine. hearing the new songs redone make me love the movie even more. the fall out boy one is pretty sweet. the marylin manson one is great and fits the atomsphere of the movie.
- What fun!
     By A3DNQ5HEYA2PQN on 2006-10-29
I am really pleased overall by this bonus tracks. The marylin manson version of 'This is Halloween' just kicks [...] all over the place. Fiona Apple's 'Sally's Lament' is haunting. The only weak track is 'Kidnap Sandy Claws' by She wants Revenge. What were they thinking? I think fans of the movie will enjoy this.
- Nightmarishly Awsome
     By A2BF6487NMAA32 on 2006-12-01
Although I was sorely disappointed to realize the Re-Release of the 3-D version of one of my favorite movies was in "select" theatres only (who the heck selects them anyways? jerks...) I was enthused when I saw this Re-Release of the soundtrack on Amazon, Thus purchasing two copies (for myself and my fiancee.) To anyone out there who aquired this, Don't get rid of the case or the disc, pay attention to Disc 2, Tracks 8 and 9. 8 on the case is "This Is Halloween," and 9 is "Kidnap The Sandy Claws," However, when you listen to the CD itself, tracks 8 and 9 are Reversed. This May end up being some sick Ebay Collectors item! lol, but seriously Now, the CD:
1 - Marilyn Mansons cover of "This Is Halloween" is Absolutely perfect for a Tim Burton Film, He uses all different voices for all the parts which makes it even more fun to listen to.
2 - Fiona Apple. Well... I'm not a big fan, and though she does sing a little too deep for the part, it is still an alright cover.
3 - "What's This?" has ALWAYS been by far my favorite song for this Movie. My fiancee even has it set on her Cell as my ring tone lol. Fall out boy does an Awsome job of covering this song.
5 - Panic! At The Disco is one of my favorite bands. Therefore I find the cover good, however, the Manson version is Much better, and done more creativly, but Panic!'s is still a-ok by me.
4 - There's a reason I skipped this one and Saved it for last. Usually you save the best for last, in this case, the absolute worst. I agree with whoever above said that She Wants Revenge MURDERED this song, because it is my second favorite song of the Movie. This cover is the most HORRIBLE, ATROCIOUS, APPALLING, PIECE OF GARABGE I have EVER Heard. The Monotone singing, the lack of a change in Rythem at all, the bleeding of Lock, Shock and Barrel's Lines together as if they were singing on top of one another is disgusting. She Wants Revenge should pay horribly for Killing this song the way they did. I hope their plane crashes on the way to their next show. I love Danny Elfmans music, but he should be ashamed for letting them murder one of his pieces of work. Ugh.. sigh.
All in All a great soundtrack. 4.9 of 5 stars. (minus .1 for that horrid song.)
- A review
     By A3SOOC0L9N0RVB on 2007-01-20
Seeing as I am an impulse buyer as well as a fan of this movie, I wasn't surprised to wake up one morning and find the package for this sitting on my doorstep. I listened to the second disc first and decided that it was OK. After reading some of the other reveiws I came to agree with some but disagree with others. Everyone has been saying that the Manson version of "This Is Halloween" was the best because it was scary and the Panic! version of said song sucked becuase it was too carnical like. If any of you remember the movie, the original song wasn't meant to be scary, but celebratory. I think Panic! captured that feeling best. Fiona Apple's song was beautiful, but I found that She Wants REvenge missed the mark a little. It had a good beat, yes, but it was too monotone for my taste. Fall Out Boy's cover is a kepper and has made it's way to my most played list. The demos are great, thought the demo of Kidnap the Sandy Claws kinda freaks me out when I remember that it's one guy doing three voices.
- best 2-pack i've bought in a while
     By A1VWUVALDCBZ02 on 2007-02-09
i will admit, i have been and will be a manson fanatic for a number of years. Nightmare before Christmas has also been on a consistent highnote for me even as a little kid when we got on VHS. so when i heard Danny Elfman on the radio talking about this thing a few weeks before it came out, i heard "marilyn manson will be doing a cover of "this is halloween", my heart jumped and i almost veered of the I-15. i bought two copies of it, one for myself and one for a friend who i knew would also appreciate it for the Panic! cover.
i will also admit i bought this cd without any hesitation, and only for that one song, and i must say it hit it right on the money. Marilyn Manson in my mind is the master of taking good, popular songs, and twisting them into something unique and that makes a statement (hearing him sing "boys and girls of every age, wouldn't you like to see something strange?" is rather convienient).
i also enjoyed the rest of the cds with more or less the same appreciation.
my only gripe with this cd is She Wants Revenges version of Kidnap The Sandy Claws. that was something i was looking forward to, and the signers monotone singing does little to honor the song. the background tune hardly resembles the melody it was taken from. in that song there were 3 distinctive voices, with SWR, you got one unchanging voice with no emotion. hell Beastie Boys coulda done a better job on this song.
- It's simply the best!
     By ANFKGWN00AEGE on 2007-02-15
Both versions of "What's this?" are great! Danny Elfman had already conquered my admiration and respect with Batman's and The Corpse Bride's soundtrack, but The Nightmare Before Christmas is my number 1 for a bunch of reasons: the interpretations are awesome and the new versions in the second CD have profoundly delighted me. If you're an Elfman's fan, you won't be disappointed!

- Classic seasonal favorite
     By A2EUG9W2IAVCT on 2006-11-07
It's apparent that the re-release of Nightmare Before Christmas nowadays is to cash on a re-released holiday classic. I'll admit that the movie is one of the top films on my favorites list and for good reason--the movie is simply innovative and entertaining. The music (as Nightmare Before Christmas is a musical) is an important part of the story and is brilliant, showcasing composer Danny Elfman at the top of his game. Each song on Disc 1 is perfection. Disc 2 is newly added covers of these classic tracks and though admirable attempts just don't live up to the brilliant original format versions. The demos of Nightmare Before Christmas' tunes are nice for avid Elfman fans but Disc 1 alone is the real reason to buy this. Despite Disc 2's unmemorable moments the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack is classic.
- Pansies...
     By A2Q3QJOOFK4VX6 on 2006-11-07
Whenever an an "old" subject is re-done in any way, there are awlays cynical people to go along with it. True, not all the new versions are great, but they are all impressive. You have the weak remake of Kidnap the Sandy Claws done by She Wants Revenge, but in contrast you have stong version of What's this? done by Fall Out Boy. Some people have become so comfortable in there cushion of the old and familiar, that when a fresh idea about something familiar arises, they are to afraid to accept the fact that it might be good. So you get a group of grumpy people shaking their fingers at tasteful innovation, then they retreat to go hide in their shells.
- Fantastic
     By AVUBO1W7EV0WJ on 2006-11-09
When will Elfman get his due credit? The man is one of the most versatile composers of his day, and has not been awarded a thing. Personally I think that Nightmare before Christmas was his best. But Corpse Bride was fantastic. He know how to fit into Burton's visions perfectly. The additional music is really great. Love panic at the disco.
- The covers alone are worth buying this
     By A2WEMUBCZFGODD on 2006-11-15
Ok, the source material (Elfman's original score) is already incredible. The covers of his songs increase the incrediblity by ten. Manson's, Fiona's, and Fall Out Boy's covers are some of the best songs I've heard in a long time. And I listen to music constantly. I think the reason is that Elfman being a classical composer, his type of music is more thoughtful and thought-provoking than regular rock bands and artists. Converted to rock, it sounds too awesome.

- ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING.
     By A1APHWMIMMZKBG on 2006-12-09
The stars that I have granted this CD are for the FIRST DISC ONLY. The original soundtrack to this gem of a film is one of the most majestic and beautifully macabre group of songs ever put into cinema (in this humble reviewer's opinion). This just fuels the fact that three of the five covers on the second disc are affronts to Elfman fans everywhere. Hearing some of my childhood favorites butchered by bands like Fall Out Boy and Panic! at the Disco makes me literally sick to my stomach. I love The Nightmare Before Christmas because it is DIFFERENT. It's strange, dark, and wholly original. It shouldn't be sampled by two of the most popular bands in America, who, despite what their fans might classify them as, are POP BANDS. These recordings are shameful, and should never be listened to by ANYBODY. Buy this for the spectacular first disc, and the privilege of SMASHING the second disc.
- Great cover!

This CD soundtrack was an expertly produced and written score. Danny Elfman is an amazing composer and Tim Burton has an eye for making macabre story lines into magnificent films. Along with the complete score from this film, this soundtrack included bands' and artists' covers of the songs that we have come to know and love. Overall, I believe this is a great product.

This CD was truly captivating. I remember when this released when I was a child and remember being mesmerized by the music of it. The new bands and artists that covered those songs, I think, truly kept that alive and added their own special twist. It was done with true poise and it's an awesome staple to anyone's collection!

I enjoyed this movie and enjoyed the soundtrack. I did not really like the covers as much as I thought, but overall the disc is nice, if you enjoy the movie!
