Best Price: $7.99
Designed around the principles of sharing, discovery and community, Zune creates new ways for consumers to connect and share entertainment experiences. The Zune experience centers on connection - connection to your library, connection to friends, connection to community and connection to other devices.Zune is Microsoft's music and entertainment platform that provides an end-to-end solution for Connected Entertainment. Inspired by the vast and varied community of music fans, Zune focuses on helping emerging artists shape the digital canvas. Zune is part of Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices division and supports the company's software-based services vision to help drive innovation in the digital entertainment space. The Zune dock elegantly displays your Microsoft Zune media player anywhere in your home or office for easily customizable media access. The dock features a pair of built-in outputs for maximum versatility: a connector port for syncing and charging your Zune, and an audio/video output with a built-in audio amplifier. The connector port is a handy option for people who want to sync or charge their Zune without fumbling under the desk for the sync cable, as the cable instead plugs right into the dock. The A/V port, meanwhile, lets you connect the dock to a stereo system or TV for full-featured playback. In both cases, all you have to do is drop your Zune into the dock and it will charge, sync, or playback via the connected devices--no extra connections required. Plus, the dock includes an integrated IR receiver for use with the Zune wireless remote (sold separately). The IR receiver and remote give you quick access to your current playlist, as well as full control over menu navigation and volume. The dock even includes a small built-in slot that holds the remote--a convenient and stylish way to store the remote when not in use. As with all Zune accessories, the dock is backed by a 1-year warranty.

Decorative hockey puck By A259C7UN7CJ4VQ on 2006-12-31
I received this item as a gift and, out of the box, it is little more than a sleek decorative puck. In other words, the dock does not include *any* cables, not even the Zune sync cable. Oh, it will hold the Zune upright though. It will also hold the Zune remote (sold *separately*.)
Once I collected the cables I needed (sync, plus either A/V or 3.5 to 3.5) the dock is working fine. I have nothing against the product, I just wish it came with at least the basic accessories out of the box.
Doesn't come with power supply! By A23NGUZSEODNHV on 2007-08-19
I should have read the other reviews. This is just a base and comes with no cables and no AC adapter. Sigh.
Btw, if you buy the power supply then you still need to use your USB sync cable--the power supply won't connect directly to the Zune. All rather ill conceived I'd say.
Complete Waste of Money By A25YHAWCM3WLTU on 2007-02-15
If you buy it, you'll be spending forty bucks on a stand with no features that the Zune doesn't already provide (sync cable output, headphone jack, that's it). This might be worth buying if it came with speakers (you'd think Zune would want to provide accessories that compete with iPod instead of making the iPod look so much better!). I suppose if you want waste more money to buy the remote (sold separately), it might be worth paying twenty bucks for the dock, but definitely not forty or whatever discount Amazon might give.
In-car use By A25771C7LREOSM on 2007-09-20
I bought this dock with the intention of using it my car as a drop-in interface for my Zune. I used a couple of strips of 3M Dual-Lock (much stronger alternative to Velcro) to mount it on my dashboard. I was concerned at first about the Zune flying out of the socket when going around turns or over bumps, but it's been well over a month and the thing never budges!
For the price of the dock, you can't beat the value and convenience for use in a car install!
DOCK is a WASTE By A26LI2QS0LHKOT on 2007-01-30
This dock was a waste for me. It came with the Home AV Pack. I wanted a durable zune case that would look good and protect the screen at the same time. The Toughskin case does all three and is EXACTLY what I was looking for protection. The only down side to the Toughskin case is that the zune will not fit in this docking station while it is in the case. I believe that is an engineering problem of the docking station. This is NOT a bulky case, it fits the zune perfectly, however, even with removing the insert of the docking station, the zune does not fit the dock while in the case. Why they didn't make a docking station that would accommodate a zune in a fitted case, makes no sense. No one is going to want to take the trouble of removing a case each time they dock their zune. They should take these docking stations back from customers who feel as I do and replace them at THEIR expense with something that works! As for the Toughskin case, I highly recommend it; the other cases just didn't seem to offer this quality of protection while also having a nice professional appearance.
- Great little device

It's a great little device, handy for holding the ZUNE so you can watch videos!
- I love my Zune Dock
     By AGZ7P3DAPVFO1 on 2007-01-18
I love my dock. My mom bought it for me as a gift. I have almost all of the Zune accesories. I keep the dock next to my computer. When I get home, I just sit my Zune on the Dock for a charge and remove it from the Dock the next morning. The Dock is very easy to use and very convenient for those on the go all the time.
- Nice and simple
     By A11YK422CK71W8 on 2007-10-25
The zune dock came bundled with zune purchase, so it was free and a good deal to begin with. I don't think I would have bought it otherwise. The dock did not come with its own USB cable so it does seem a bit pricey if you were to purchase it by itself. Of course you will have had a cable already since the zune comes with it. After using it for about a month I can honestly say the following: Aesthetics are nice and nicer than an Apple dock. You wouldn't mind leaving it out on your desk. The dock pin port interface is buttery smooth. All it takes is a gentle one handed placement of the zune on the dock and it registers connected. I don't think its a total necessity since you can use the USB cable by itself, but its more about convenience than anything else.
- Great dock for display
     By AEWN3K22OCJ3N on 2007-03-31
The dock makes it very easy to keep your Zune displayed in a room very nicely. I keep it plugged into my stereo and it is our primary source of music now.
- nice
     By AU20PA9AVEABB on 2007-05-11
this works and looks nice. It does require power from the Zune USB connector. You also need to supply your own audio cable, but you don't have to use the Zune branded audio cables.
- Great for Microsoft Zune Player
     By A2KL7NNH5RH3V2 on 2007-06-08
I found this accessory to be quite useful to me. With this easy to use dock, I am able to connect it to my TV and stereo system via the AV cable. I can then scroll through my library using the Zune remote and play songs/videos. Remember that only a genuine Zune dock cable will work with the dock so don't use a generic one.
- Dock...that's it.
     By A3QXYQ3169CYPX on 2007-06-13
The Dock for the Zune can be looked at on both sides (negative & positive).
Negative:
- No Additional cables, just the dock
- Additional accessories required: sync cable ($20) & remote ($20)
- Price a little on the high side for just a dock
- No Remote (but has a holder for the remote)
Positive:
- Cosmetically looks good sitting on your desk
- With a-companied accessories (separate purchase) the dock shows it's true colors (in a good way)
Note: 4 those people that own a Xbox 360, this will not be of good use unless you are one of those people that likes things to look a certain way. The Xbox 360 can stream music from the PC eliminating the need for a Zune + Dock if you would like to play music in the said room. If you have a complete gaming setup the zune will be good for the road.
- ZUNE DOCKING PLATFORM
     By A2KJZE2VIVQHAN on 2007-01-20
Works great. I can dock and charge while adding music or videos.
Can also play back music or vidoes through the dock and computer.
- Simple but functional.
     By A1O7FOP3CYN3P8 on 2007-07-23
This dock is very well-designed. It holds the Zune snugly, is easy to insert and remove the Zune from, and looks very nice on my desk. It compliments the Zune's design very well with its neutral black doubleshot look.
Because it fits snugly and recessed, the dock will NOT work if your Zune in a case. It's very easy to pop the sync cable out of the back, however, so you can easily plug an encased Zune in without needing to have a spare cable plugged in.
If you pick up an A/V cable and the remote control, the dock will allow you to use your Zune as a jukebox on your TV. If you want this functionality, however, you're better off just getting the home A/V pack.
- Pretty good
     By A37LZXG005G269 on 2007-12-28
pretty good if you ask me, someone said this thing doesnt come with a speaker, but it does. Zune seems slightly better than Ipod.
