  • gown OK, but beware of return policy!

    By AW00JXYGOIPDH on 2008-01-15
I put one of these gowns on my Wish List at Christmas time, and received as a gift. I had high hopes because I'd read a lot of good reviews about the gowns and the company. However, when I tried on the gown, it didn't even begin to fit properly. So, I contacted the company to find out about making a return (because the next size down won't fit in other areas, so I'm out of luck). After looking up the order, the company told me that the purchase was made about 6 weeks ago and that was past their 2 WEEK return/exchange policy. I explained, again, that it was a Christmas gift, and that I obviously had no control over how early my relatives had purchased this for me, and also that the gown just flat doesn't fit me. I'd hoped they would work with me, but I received a response that basically said, "sorry, but it's been too long." So now I have an expensive gown that was purchased for me that I can't even use.

The gown seems nice enough, if it were to fit properly. However, my advice to anyone would be to NOT put this on a wish list - because if you receive it and it's the wrong size you'll be out of luck trying to exchange or return. And if you purchase it for yourself, try it on immediately upon receiving it so you have plenty of time to get it back if it's not right. I'm extremely disappointed that a company, particularly a smaller company where I received emails directly from the President, was unwilling to work with me for a holiday exchange. I would not recommend their products because of lack of customer service.

  • Highly recommended for pregnant & pumping/nursing mums

    By A3C24P0658BXMQ on 2007-02-14
I just received two of these bra-less nursing nightgowns (sm), a robe (sm/m), and the two piece tank pj set (sm). I'm almost nine months pregnant and have gained 50ish pounds and despite the other review about not fitting during pregnancy, it (and the other items) fits and stretches well while holding its shape. I will wear this now and indefinitely after the baby comes: it's apparent that it will fit me well after baby too.
The quality of the fabric is substantial enough to hold large (and engorging) breasts without the need for a bra. It is strong but breathable, and not flimsy so it slightly smoothes out quirks of the pregnant body.
The length is a little longer than most - it slightly covers my knees - which is what I wanted so slit is nice to have for normal strides walking, easing out of bed, hiking up to use the washroom, etc. without tearing the seams.
As the description and the other review indicates, the cups can slide down for pumping or nursing.
I'm very happy with the colors, design, and construction of all items. Due to the volume of my order (directly from the [...] site, I received a high quality FREE minky dot chenille blanket that came rolled and ribboned in a nice tulle bag. I would definitely get this for other expectant or new moms!

  • Well made, doesn't fit well while pregnant

    By A239TV7P61TNV3 on 2007-01-13
I was looking for a good nursing nightgown to wear while in the hospital after giving birth to my second child. I had seen the Aimee gown before, and I really liked the looks of it, and the reviews seemed great.

After purchasing the gown (was shipped via Fed Ex to Canada, which means I got dinged by Fedex's "customs broker" costs...) I tried it on while 8 months pregnant to see how it fits.

    I purchased a size XL as I am around a sz 14 pre-pregnancy. I have a normal bust size of 36D.

The gown itself is made of a nice heavyweight cotton with lots of stretch and recovery (doesn't just stretch out and stay there), the crossover top is really nice becuase it crosses over and will be easy to pull aside for nursing, but the v isn't too deep (nobody needs to see *that* much of my clavicle). There is a slit up the side for ease of walking, but it's a very high slit, too high, I felt.

The gown didn't fit well over my pregnant belly - but I don't fault them for that, it's not advertised as fitting during pregnancy. However, after giving birth, I still don't think it would fit well for the first couple of weeks, until the baby belly subsides a bit. The gown stretches well enough to fit over a slowly-declining bump, but unfortunately, as you walk around, the elastic contracts the gown back up over your bump, pulling the slit on the side higher and higher up your leg. The gown itself is long enough to more than cover your bump as it retracts, but it's not a comfortable feeling when that slit creeps higher and higher.

The bustline will be great when I'm nursing - easy to pull over, and great coverage on the other side. It fits well under the bust (elasticised under the cups) but I found the cups were HUGE on my breasts. It fit well at the band, but I guess they figure if you're a big girl, you must have big boobs. Luckily, I'm handy at sewing, so I plan to take the gown up at the shoulders to fix this.

Overall, I think this will be a great gown to wear around the house while breastfeeding.... after the baby belly has subsided. I do plan to bring it to the hospital with me, but only after I've taken in the seams at the shoudlers, and closed the side slit a bit.

  • LOVE IT!

    By AJBH52EG0QBE6 on 2007-03-15
In fact, I'm ordering a second for myself and one for a mom to be. This was the best nursing gown I've owned with either pregnancy. I love the fact that you really don't have to wear a sleep bra with it and the "leak pads" stay in place. I received it as a gift in the mail and was dying to know who sent it so I could give a big thank you to. I love the fact that it has the pull down access intead of the slits. It allows you to stay covered if you want to wear it around the house. Also, it's sexier than most nursing gowns so an added bonus for the husband.

  • LOVE this nightgown

    By A3T847509CQ4US on 2007-06-11
Haven't had my baby, yet, but my husband got me this nightgown in cranberry for my birthday. I am 8 months pregnant (read: HUGE) and it STILL looks great on! Love the color. Love the fit. I am planning on using it in the hospital and then for quite a while after. In my opinion, definitely worth the money.

  • Comfortable and beautiful
    By A3PG54FATJS9F3 on 2007-09-26
I love this gown and my husband does too. It looks great and gives enough support. For an idea on size, I ordered a medium and I wore 7/8 before pregnancy and my post pregnancy body at 3 weeks is a 10 and 36D. The medium fits great. Shipping was a bit slower than expected, so if needed right away, upgrade the shipping.

  • Best nursing gown ever!
    By A3MJ5A26LEV8MD on 2007-08-06
This nightgown is so comfortable and, unlike many nursing gowns, is very flattering to the post-partem body. It's a breeze to nurse my baby, I just push the cup aside and we're ready to go, no irritating slits to fit through and no snaps to fumble with. The gown retains it's shape and continues to be supportive after trips through the washing machine and dryer. I have two gowns so that when one is in the wash I have the other available. I can't say enough good things about this and the price, although high, is definitely worth it.

  • Awesome gown and great service
    By A36FVONARRWCXU on 2007-04-09
Thanks so much for the great product! It was so cozy and easy to nurse my baby. The fabric is also really soft. Loved the sizing help before I ordered, it saved me from an exchange since I was going to order the wrong size. You don't come across alot of companies that give personal service.
    I will definitelly recommend you,
    Samantha

  • Great Gown
    By AG99HPIKIVU3P on 2007-05-26
I am a 38H, size 12 - got this gown in black and red in large. Love it! Looks great fits nice, however it is a little roomy around breasts after wearing 2 nights. But still a great gown to use if you want a break from the bras.

  • Need more support for the "girls"
    By A17QPKMOMZ9MHT on 2007-09-30
I had the same issue it seems that several other reviewers had, that the bust of the gown was too large and ill-fitted, thereby providing zero support for my breasts. I ordered an XL based on the manufacturer's sizing guildelines (I have an average frame but broad shoulders, am typically a C-cup though a generous DD while breastfeeding). The fit was fine from the bust down, but the top was way oversized. The surplice cups were cut far too low as well allowing the top to gape open. A smaller gown size would have been too small for me elsewhere. Seriously, you would have to have gi-normous breasts for this to fit...I just think the cut was way off. Seeing that some buyers reported a better fit on top, I suspect there may be some inconsistency with the manufacturer. Given the nice stretch of the fabric, I think it would be a better fit to cut the top so that it is a closer fit in order to provide support that heavier lactating breasts very much require--yes, there are nursing bras for sleep, but seriously, WHO wants to wear a bra to bed, no matter how soft and stretchy?? I want my nursing gown to have a top that provides comfortable support, easy access, and that holds my nursing pads in place.

  • Well made just no support
    By A1QGDYUO4MAUNH on 2007-03-31
I love the look of this nightgown ~very sexy~. But my purpose for buying it was to have a nightgown I could wear with out a nursing bra. This did not work well for that, it was too loose in the bust and fit the rest of me. I wear a size 14 and 40DD and ordered a large. My husband liked the look of it, he thought I was dressed to go out, so I did purchase another one because of it being so comfortable and the convienience of pulling it off to the side to feed my baby.
This is a wonderful nightgown if you want to feel sexy after having a baby!!

  • Excellent product
    By A20YDGDDEP9JNJ on 2007-07-12
I bought the nursing gown for my wife, and she loves it. It is very comfortable and makes breastfeeding easy. No hooks or straps to undo.

  • Disappointed
    By A15YBUR79TI19J on 2007-03-18
I received the night gown, tried it on, and actually hated it. The built in bra was loose, as was the top and there was just too much fabric up top. The straps are too wide. The rest of the gown was okay, although it too seemed too drapey and long.

I sent the gown back 3 weeks ago, now, and have STILL not received a refund. I am very disappointed with the whole transaction/product.

  • Great Gown...IF You Wear a Bra
    By A2T1ZVIVIWMX2D on 2007-06-30
I was so excited to receive this product after all of the wonderful reviews I had read. I ordered an extra large to accomodate my 40 DD size (and 7 month pregnant body) and couldn't wait to try it on when it arrived a few days later. Although it is a VERY comfortable nightgown, the top is not supportive at all. It spreads open quite easily and droops when I sit down, exposing.....well.....everything!

I tried it on with a bra and it fits much better...but doesn't that defeat the purpose of "bra-less"? I am sure this would be the perfect gown for someone that is 'perkier' than I am up top, but after nursing one child (and soon to nurse another one), it's a gown I will only wear around my husband in the privacy of my own home.

  • Buy size smaller than recommended!
    By AJWFDAT1WBIZI on 2007-07-02
I bought the size that the seller recommended based mainly on my bust size, but smaller than recommended based on my pre-pregnancy size and current maternity size. Even during the first stage of absolute HUGE engorgement, the bust is WAAAY too big. Very comfy material, but definitely buy a smaller size than they recommend or it'll be too big.

  • Not Impressed...
    By A3A2J6ILECANVF on 2008-01-08
I would not recommend this nursing nightgown. I do not see how this is braless; there is nothing to provide support but an empire waist. Plus, this nightgown is so low cut it is almost obscene. I would not feel comfortable anwsering the door in this nightgown. The fabric is very heavy and does not breath. I agree with the other posts that the fit is kind of strange. I got this nightgown in black hoping to wear it at the hospital after I deliver but after trying it on I do not think I feel comfortable.

  • LOVED it for the hospital!
    By A1EMWVLI3XXNRU on 2008-06-12
I got this gown about a month before I was due. I was surprised that it fit well also when I was pregnant. After I took that first shower after birth, which was oh so nice, I put on my Aimee nursing gown. I did feel so good pushing my little girl around the hallways getting compliments from all the nurses!!! Very comfortable and washes lovely...so glad i got one.

  • Surprisingly great fit!
    By A35SOCCKE0RDX on 2007-08-15
My mother purchased this gown for me to wear after my daughter is born, which should be in October. We tried to find reviewers that talked about their body type but found very little information that might help us decide if it would work, so I'm reviewing this pronto based on my maternity fitting.
Body Type - I am 5'10", normally 160, 42-30-42 measurements, which you can really only tell if you see me sideways. I'm all T&A. I wear a 34G at the moment, but my breasts are holding up well so they are not very saggy for the size. I am currently 31 weeks pregnant.

The gown fits snugly in the stomach, but not uncomfortably. The fabric seems like it will be supportive postpartum.
The bust fits wonderfully, but I would not call it modest, and I wouldn't lounge in-front of company in it really. My sternum is exposed, which will probably be great for breastfeeding so the fabric is still comfortable when it is pushed to the side. I could stand to have the shoulder straps about an inch shorter, but that might be specific to my body type and is a common complaint that I have to deal with.

The best part was my husband's reaction. In his opinion, I could wear this to a dinner party, and he thinks it is very sexy. Even though I may not feel like acting on it physically after birth, knowing that my husband thinks I look sexy is worth every penny and then some in terms of my mental well being.

  • Ok, still need a bra
    By A3CNXPZB4KPTBW on 2007-12-14
I am 3 weeks postpartum, and I've worn this dress at least 15 days out of the 20 days since I gave birth. Very, very comfortable dress! I've even worn it out and about to pediatrician appointments (had to cover up my chest though).

I don't understand why it says "Bra-less" nursing gown. There is not any padding or anything that would resemble a bra to support what most post partum women have - a size D or more. Elastic to hold nursing pads in place, or even padding to cover larger nipples would have been more representative of the name "Bra-less".

I was expecting a nicer material (not just plain cotton), but I've found that the cotton is a LOT more comfortable and comfort is my top priority right now. Overall, this is a Nice dress, but a little too pricey for the quality.

  • Keep Expectations Low!
    By AB7BNGKWTK3OD on 2008-02-19
This is an overpriced cotton nursing nightgown that did not come close to meeting expectations. For the price, you can get a nursing nightgown of much higher quality and detail. I would never purchase another Aimee item sight unseen. Very disappointed! Also, the Large is more like a size medium

  • fantastic nursing gown
    By A3K0QOJDKTYZV on 2008-03-04
Aimee Bra-less Nursing Nightgown- I love wearing this nursing gown. I like that it isn't frumpy looking (especially after wearing maternity wear for what seems like an eternity). The material is soft, stretchy and comfortable. I appreciate not having to wear a bra with it as it holds my nursing pads in place. [a side note : my hubby thinks I look great in it - that is a nice extra] I also have the long sleeve red top.... now that is one beautiful top - even if it wasn't for nursing. The material is so silky feeling and comfortable and it is so very easy to nurse.(just lift the material from right under your breast and voila - there is no need to cover up - no breast showing from having to pull anything aside etc.) This top is so very pretty - I get lots and lots of compliments while wearing it. Thank you for making such a beautiful nursing top.

  • Looking good while nursing
    By A3DLQ0WJX6W0WY on 2008-03-13
After reading some of the reviews (negative and positive) I was hesitant about purchasing this gown, but I am soooooo glad I decided to give it a try. My pre-pregnancy size was an 18, busty and hippy but lean in the middle. I am now 9 months pregnant and I have gained about 25 lbs. I checked out the sizing recommendations and ordered an XXL. The gown fits great, makes my breasts easily accessible, and is sexy! I'm prissy and believe in looking cute at all times, and this gown will definitely help me with that after the baby is born. Also, I received it within 5 business days. For the price, you simply can't beat it. I'm going to order a couple more. Check out the sizing recommendations before placing your order and I'm sure you will be pleased.

  • Great gown

Love my nursing gown I almost haven't taken it off I have the PJ's too and they are great

  • My favorite
    By A3T859AQUDTRWF on 2007-04-20
This is the perfect gown for the hospital and after you get home, it makes nusring so much easier, Thanks for the great product!

  • Not worth the price
    By A2SBBV0GGQ1YTT on 2007-05-22
Ordered a pink gown and robe. I was disappointed that the colors didn't match - the fabrics look different, the robe was softer and lighter than the gown. I've found other gowns for less money that were just as good.

  • This gown is amazing!!!!
    By A3C4N8RRY3JUM6 on 2007-05-23
I love the look, the feel & the practicality of this gown!!
I truly love the way this fits & how flattering it makes me look!!!

  • Good concept, but didn't work for me
    By A14UOOROH3XRQ9 on 2007-06-05
I tried using this when I first came home from the hospital. It was too big for me even though I followed the sizing chart. The breast pads did not stay in place. And this is when I was engorged, so I didn't even bother to try again once my breasts were down to normal size. I also had a hard time opening the front to nurse. It didn't feel comfortable so I had to pull off the entire strap which defeated the purpose.

I do think the concept is great b/c I was not used to having to sleep in a bra all the time and I like nightgowns. But now I just use a nursing tank top that I bought at Target to sleep in. It is great.

  • Wonderful Product
    By A2T2IYPRSB47NH on 2007-08-18
I ordered this gown in cranberry, a small. I was worried that it would not fit me properly because I am very small busted, because of the other reviews stating that the top was not supportive. I received this gown, and could not wait to put it on, it fits wonderfully, and looks very good on. I am 9 1/2 months pregnant and even so it fits wonderfully, I can just about imagine how good it will look on me after the baby is here 4 days from now. When my husband seen it on me, he asked me what I put a dress on for... it really doesn't look like a nursing gown, nothing at all like the gowns I had for my other children. I am sure I will feel a lot better wearing this gown, than the over sized frumpy gowns I had to wear with my other children. When you look good, you feel good, and with this gown you look REAL GOOD! lol. The gown fits at the knee, and has a split on one side, which I love. My baby is breach, and I may have to have a c-section to deliver her... it is nice to know, that either with a c-section, or natural birth, I can wear this gown home without it looking like a nightgown. If I do have to have a c-section, I won't have to worry about my clothing rubbing against the incission site. I am thinking about ordering the pajamas now as well. Love, love, love this gown!!!!

  • Best nursing gown ever!!
    By A13YG17EZ9S1C9 on 2008-03-03
What a great product! I ordered this gown to bring with me to the hospital, I received so many compliments from the nurses! It was comfortable and I love the fabric, it's so soft.
When I got home and the engorement set in, I was sooo thankful to have my Aimee Gown. I couldn't stand anything constrictive on my chest as it was so painful to even wear a bra during the day. These gowns give the exact amount of support needed at nighttime without causing any discomfort like everything else did! Thanks so much for a great gown, I will definitely reccomend you to my friends. :)

  • great nursing nightgown
    By AF45F4MMHLHDW on 2008-03-06
Aimee Bra-less Nursing Nightgown I purchased this for my wife. It is for her while she is nursing our newest daughter, but I can tell you I like it very much also. It looks great on her, and she loves how comfortable it is, so I know she will wear it long after she is done nursing. I also bought her the robe that matches the gown. It does look quite nice having a set like this. I plan on getting one of the other gowns for her to have a change and I know it will go well also with the robe we have. Thank you for all your help in the ordering and sizing information for my wife.
