  • Finally...a quality dvd binder with style and capacity!

    By A2O0GRWEE17G2Z on 2008-01-08
This is the best case out there for those who are getting tired of all of those darn DVD cases and racks!

At first, my wife bought the Handstands and Allsops for Xmas for me to try out....I thought they were nice, but I have 800 DVDs. I would have needed ~40 of either of these to store both the cover art and the discs, which would have been $$$. I found the Case Logic case, bought it, got it, filled it, and love it. The only thing I don't like is that when I want to insert a page, I have to remove all pages ahead of it, which is a little bit of a pain. However, the design of this thing uses NO binders rings, which everyone hates, right? Instead, it uses hefty straps. Also, the front of this thing has slots for a bunch of discs, so this area could act as a queue that when full, would trigger a re-org of the binder in one big swoop instead of each time I get a new DVD.

  • Good product (it could be improved)

    By A21N3CPGUNG252 on 2008-01-20
Product quality is good but design could be improved. I have two of them to hold all my DVDs. It protects my DVD from dust and scratch and also help me have them all organized. The only thing I don't like is that when I want to insert a page in the middle, I have to remove all pages ahead of it. No idea why they decided it to use STRAPS instead of binder rings. Binder rings are a better option.

  • Does What It Does

    By A3IWVE67KXVSPA on 2008-04-07
It is a binder. It holds many DVDs. Does it hold 200? Well, that depends on how you're counting, actually. The pages have pockets on one side for liner notes and pockets on the other side for your DVDs. This comes out to one liner note per two DVDs. So, if you've several of those 2-DVD sets that seem to be the norm these days, then in the end you're only going to get 100 movies (2 DVDs each) in this folder. Simple as that.

Also, many DVDs just don't have liner notes. They might have a catalog of other DVDs from the same studio or maybe a slip of glossy paper with track listings, but that's about it. In those cases, you'll be wanting to slide out the wrap-around "cover" from the DVD case, fold it just so, then place it in your folder. Will this make unsightly creases in the "cover," should you unfold it back? Sure. But are you going to be placing the DVD back in the plastic DVD case, ever? If not, then why worry?

Long story short, if you're of a mind to reduce the space taken up by all of your DVD cases, then this is a very capable solution. A stack of DVDs as tall as the average human can be packed easily and safely into one of these binders and stacked on a shelf. It's not bad-looking, either.

  • I find straps to hold sleeves in and advantage . . .

    By ARJ2L3J5GPHRM on 2008-04-19
If you happen to drop this binder when it is full, and it used binder rings instead of straps . . . you may better appreciate the strap design. These large heavy cases will snap open binder rings and the sleeve pages may be flowing all over the floor in a mess.

I'd rather take the time to mess with the straps which securely keep the sleeves in place than clean up a mess of pages on the floor.

In addition, I might point out that binder rings tend to catch at the sleeve pages as they are turned. If the binder rings are out of alignment even slightly turning pages smoothly is impossible.

Everything considered, I'd rather have straps than binder rings . . . just a thought.

  • Space Saver

    By A13RIB0YTWGOHU on 2008-02-13
I found this product to be well made and a much needed space saver. The only downside is the straps that hold the sleeves in place. I do believe that note book rings would have been more practical and less time consuming for when you have to add new movies; but overall I am very happy with my purchase.

  • fabulous

To be fair, this really holds about half of what it claims, as there are 2 disc sleeves for every 1 brochure/pamphlet/thing. That said, I am SOOO relieved to finally have a place to begin to put our video game collections. I have filled 3 of these so far, and it is such a vast improvement from having shelves, bins, baskets filled with all the cases. It is a tad annoying to insert new pages, as one needs to pull all the previous pages out (the way the binding is done), but this is a small price to pay for the tidy, well made case that now sits on our shelf. The handle on the outside binding is strong, so these are easy to carry around if needed. My husband was VERY resistant to this 'transfer' of games from jewel cases to binder, and even he has said it is really a great system and is pleased. I will be ordering at least a few more to further organize the games in our home. I am very pleased with this product.

  • Well made, good value
    By A2A0MH6K32737E on 2008-04-28
This is a great way to store a lot of movies in a little space. Adding or moving pages is a bit cumbersome, but overall this is convenient storage and easy to flip through.

  • Does the job!
    By A1N8IQE6HYVLOC on 2008-07-12
The binder does everything I need. I was able to free up a lot of space. The only thing that is a bit annoying is when the binder is unzipped all the way, it's hard to zip it back up.

  • Good Product
    By A3SDINXYQU2I76 on 2008-07-25
I love how large it is and that it is zippered. My complaints though are you can't see what the DVDs are, since the only see thru part is where you can put the DVD notes. Like other reviews, I like the strap feature versus the binder, but it is a bit time consuming if you want to rearrange it. Since you have to take all previous sheets out, and then of course put them all back. But the straps won't bend out of shape like a ring binder could.

  • Portable Space Saver
    By A158J3SOOAE6OW on 2008-08-13
It is a great space saver. I travel and like to bring one binder along to watch movies on my laptop. I have many binders and never found problems with the zipper or carry handle. It's true that a 200 disc binder is only about 100+ but putting sequals together in one sleeve helps. Never found anything better than this design and the plastic straps hold better than the 3 hole punch method.
