  • Do not fall for this!

    By A14NPYRHG8EGR9 on 2007-06-12
This pool manufacturer is deliberately misrepresenting the product through the use of doctored photos. If you doubt, compare this to the photo of the giraffe spray & splash. The pools are VERY dinky and not well made or worthy of consideration for any child over 2 (even though they say no children under 3 should use it). My 7 year old and 3 year old cannot fit in one of these at the same time.

  • Fun Little Pool w/ a few draw backs

    By A3FCCLP87G1Y36 on 2007-07-22
This is really a fun pool/slide for little ones - I'd say 4 (maybe 5)and younger. It isn't a big swimming pool, so don't buy it if you that's what you want. I'd say we fill it with about 6-10 inches of water, which of course is perfect for sliding into. My son and his friends(ages 2-5)have had a lot of fun on this pool. It has taken a lot of abuse and is still going strong, so I've been really happy about that. The only reason I didn't give this pool 5 stars is because the sprinkler part of the pool that is suppose to keep the slide wet and fast, does not work well. As soon as you have attached the hose and feel you have the sprinkler at the height that will be good for the kids, they start to play on it and the sprinkler water will suddenly rise and fall, rise and fall. The water is always coming out too little or too big. So, we don't use that part at all. My son just periodically tosses water down the slide to keep it wet. That works fine. I would highly recommend this product to parents with kids 4 and younger. LOTS OF FUN!

  • 5 Stars for Children Under 4!

LAME for children over the age of 4. The manufacturer's box says for ages 3-12 and the photos associated with this product are very misleading. I have a 2 1/2 year old who had a blast sliding down the slide but for my 5 year old, who is average size, it was lame. The manufacturers photos show 4 children, 3 of them have to be at least 8 years old. My 5 year old wasn't interested after seeing how small it was after putting it together ... I highly doubt I could get a child older than him near it! As far as the photo advertising 2 older girls sitting comfortably in the pool with plenty of room to spare ... not a chance! There is just enough room for my two little ones in the pool area. When my son sits at the top of the "slide" his feet almost touch the water. Was hoping both my kids would be able to enjoy this throughout the summer ... very disappointed! Great for small children. Recommended ages should be 2-4 years for sure!

  • Great pool for kids under age 3

    By A11PPEACYFW4VV on 2007-07-12
I completely agree with all the reviews, positive and negative, on this product. Beware that this is a kiddie pool - not a children's pool. It's not that big, and the water is meant to be shallow, like 6 inches or less. That said, it's absolutely PERFECT for about 3 to 4 toddlers under the age of 3, and a very fair price for a pool for that purpose. I have not tried out the slide yet, but there is a little cushion area you can fill with air where the child will hit the pool coming down from the slide, which I thought was a good touch. Also, there is a bigger opening for inflating and deflating the pool than just the usual small little hole, which I only discovered after my first use. It made the deflating SUPER fast though, and I believe it will make inflating even easier next time (with my electric pump).

  • total crap

DO NOT BUY any Banzai probduct. the photos are totally doctored and are basically baby pools. The manufacture is no help when you call them. All of their products are so small they are for 2 year olds. Do waste you money with this brand.

  • Lots of Fun for Little Kids
    By A78486UP00LMP on 2008-03-31
First of all I think the age range on this product is totally off, because a child over 5 would have a hard time playing with this product, the pool part is the size of a standard baby pool. However, we got this for my 2 year old birthday and she loves it. It is the perfect size for her. I have a 5 year old as well and although she has fun on it, she is a bit big for the pool part. Like I mentioned above unless you have an really small older child I would not reccomend this to anyone over 5 or 6.

  • Nice but smaller than they lead you to believe
    By A1T1YSCDW0PD25 on 2008-07-06
Nice pool for the price but like others have said it is definitely smaller than the photo on the box. I have uploaded some photos that give a better indication of the size. Just be aware of the size issue! My 1.5 year old likes it reasonably well. I think it would be good for smaller children (maybe up to 6?) with parental supervision but not for older children even though it says "3 and up".

Hooking the hose up for the spray doesn't work very well due to leaking, I suspect that is because we have no washer in there. I'm not sure if it came with one or not because it may have been accidentally thrown away with other material that was accidentally thrown away... but I think it definitely needs a washer. Also, it could be more durable (heavier plastic) but for the price I can't complain too much. It does come with one repair patch. If it lasts one summer then I think I got my money's worth.

  • Fine for a little wading pool
    By A3HQ54EUSZ4PF1 on 2007-09-05
I agree with the other reviewer who mentions the doctored photos. It's so true. The box shows multiple kids on the slide part, with others around the pool. My peanut sized 2 year old barely fits on the slide, let alone other kids. It's small. But, for a 2 year old to get her feat wet and splash around in, it works.
I also agree with the reviewer who says the sprinkler doesn't work that well. It sprays upward in a spout (like a whale's spout, which is the idea) but it doesn't do a good job of keeping the slide wet. You have to readjust periodically. We leave it off.

Overall, it's better than standing out in the yard sweating, but my 2 year old still has more fun running through the garden hose water...

  • It's great for what it is
    By A28QRMZMV1UCTX on 2008-05-12
I think if I had not seen it at a friends house i would have also thought it was bigger from the box. But it is a great size for toddlers. My 1 and 2 year old have a ton of fun and never want to get out. My son really hates sprinklers so we dont use that function, they just throw water on the slide before going down. The slide is fun for both of them. It is easy to get in and out of for them and they have a blast. An air pump is really needed unless you have crazy strong lungs

  • Quite a Catch!!!
    By A19QJPCGTVCAOV on 2008-06-30
After reading the various reviews here I had no idea whether or not to proceed with the purchase of this pool for my two year old daughter. Finally I decided to take a chance and hope for the best realizing all along that, folks, inflatable pools are not meant to last more than a swimming season. That is definitely reflected in the cost of the pool. Another concern I had though was about how many children would be able to play in the pool at a given time because we were planning to use this pool at my daughter's birthday party where there would be several five year old brothers as well. Well, long story short....this pool was absolutely perfect. Both of my kiddos (ages 2 and 5) were able to play in the pool at the same time. Now granted neither have room to do laps, but their idea of fun in a pool such as this is to slide and splash and get wet. Even if the box's picture is misleading on size, don't let that seal the deal on your purchase because this really is a great little pool for the money. Keep in mind that this is not a "swimming" pool so much as it is a slide and splash pool. At one time there were four little girls from 6 months up to 4 years playing happily in this pool at our party. Occasionally a couple of five year olds would throw themselves down the slide making for splashes and screams and yet there was no fussing...just squeals and smiles. Y'all don't judge a book by its cover and miss out on some good backyard summer fun in this pool. As long as you keep your expectations realistically based, you and your kids won't be disappointed! I am definitley glad I gave it a chance!!!

  • Dreadful
    By A9ZWHC3010WYA on 2008-07-17
Lucky for me to have a compressor to blow up this slide and pool. If I had had to manually inflate this sucker, only to have three of the six or seven individual chambers immediately deflate, I might have popped. As it is, what more should I expect from such a low-priced (cheap) item? You get what you pay for.

  • I have no complains

We bought this pool for our two doughters at the beginning of the summer, and now in the end of the summer it i still working just fine. It is not a big pool, but it is a perfect size for my 2 year old and 5 1/2 year old. I fill it with water in the morning and then they have the same water for two days, and then we fill it up again with new water. It is perfect that it is not beeing so big, beqouse the water gets warm much faster, and it does not take so long time filling it up. it is perfect just for cooling down this warm summer day.... but just for the kids, you will bee way to big for this pool...;)
There are coming water from the whale, if you connect the hoos to it, but you will bee fine not jusing this. We juse it for a while, and then turn it of.
You connect the slide to the pool bye youre self, so it can not fly away on windy days, the slide even stayed on the pool in a storm... and if you want a little bit bigger pool, you can take the slide away, and get some more space in the pool (we do this when the girls have friends over, and then the slide get to bee a climbing slide on the gras instead).

We have enyoyed this pool this summer, and when it is getting cooler we will take it to the basement and fill it up with balls, or stuffed animals, so they can enyoy it for the winter as well...

  • Great!

Great! For the price I wasn't expecting a large durable pool,no one should. my 2 yr old loves and enjoys it. the pictures lie about the size but the prize doesnt. its a great baby pool and slide.

  • Phony product photo
    By A2O8773JHYTW3C on 2008-06-15
The other reviewers that have pointed out that the promotional photo is doctored are spot on. Only Hobbit children would find the pool that roomy. The manufacturer of this item should be shamed into changing their deceptive marketing practices.

  • Leaked day 1
    By AHWAYUPOLD2H1 on 2008-06-23
Was so excited for my little one to cool off on hot days in this, based especially on the reviews. It had leaks from the get-go and never stayed inflated. Total waste of money.

  • Warning! Don't Buy!
    By A2JKDGIAMXDYU9 on 2008-07-23
I'd give this pool zero stars if it were possible. My kids were given this as a gift and not given a receipt. The pool stairs didn't hold air for more than ten minutes and within an hour the pool lost all of its air. On the box there is a red stop sign saying do not return to the store, call the manufacturer with problems. I called and the guy I talked to was first of all, extremely rude, and his solution? Return it to the store! When I indicated it was a gift and didn't have a receipt he told me he could not help me. I asked to speak to a manager and he said he had to take my number and have the manager call me back. Of course I never heard from the manager. Horrible company to deal with and horrible, flimsy, small, cheap pool. Don't waste your time or money.

  • My toddler loves this!
    By A33DYFT1H4RWOQ on 2007-05-31
At a birthday party last weekend, grandma brought this pool for the kids. Although the water was cold, my 2 1/2 year old son loved this, slipping and sliding down the slide. It's not too deep for him. You can attach the hose to the slide for a whale spout spray that comes up out of one of the sides of the slide. The older kids wanted that turned off, probably because it was too cold. I plan on replacing my old hard plastic pool with this one.

  • kinda lame
    By A3SFZ4M7Q5KT33 on 2008-06-01
The top slide part didn't work very well, the slide was sticky and my son (2yrs old) just kinda had to scoot his way down. He didn't find it very fun. The next day the top slide part had popped so now we have just the pool. Which he still finds fun, but no funner than his $10 blue plastic pool we got at Fred Meyer.

  • Ok if you know what you're getting ahead of time
    By A1SFODF86TASYF on 2008-06-03
Pool is definitely much smaller than the picture indicates. I bought for my just-turned-two-year old and she has a blast with it. It has held up through about 10 hours of use so far. The "included ropes" to tie the whale slide down to the pool were not in the box. Nothing upsets me more than missing pieces!

  • Fun in the sun!!
    By AK7IJ1HKCQ8CR on 2008-06-07
My kids love this pool and so do all their friends. My daughter is 3 years old, and my son is 1 yr. We have friends with children ages 1 - 5 yrs., and they all love using the pool together. The moms can sit back and relax, chat, and sip drinks in the sun... while our children are entertained for hours, playing together in the kiddie pool. Well worth the $20 I spent on it! :)

  • Good for two or three toddlers!
    By AOB0WMQ0134CQ on 2008-07-13
I got this for my toddlers (18 months and 3 years), and they love it.
    Size:
It's perfect for two or three kids, I would say up to four years of age the most. I had to inflate it myself, and it wasn't too bad. Really the part that took the longest was the center part of the slide.
    Quality:
I have two generally gentle girls, so it doesn't take big beatings. However they love to seat on the side and bounce, and so far after about a month of almost everyday use it's still good as new.
I bought it thinking that for $20 it'd probably not last the summer, but now I think it will. I think that if we don't use it next year it'll be because it might be too small for them then.
I haven't used the attchment for the hose, so I can't comment on how well it works. I wet the slide and the kids go right down, no problem.
The slide attaches to the bottom part with two ropes. It came with two little pieces that were barely long enough to do the job, so I got a couple shoe laces and it takes half the time to set it up now.
To sum up, a good buy.

  • Wonderful little pool
    By A2AW6AI1Q7ZDLK on 2008-08-31
This pool is small, but for $20 it is well worth it. My 2 year old son loves sliding down the slide and splashing in the pool. The slide makes this pool really fun. I am so glad we decided to buy this instead of just a kiddie pool. We have had it for over a month now and so far no problems. Great little pool for small children.

  • YOUR 2-YEAR OLD WILL LOVE IT!
    By A1KDD4RTYU6YW6 on 2008-09-11
This pool and slide is the perfect size for my toddler. He goes up and down and up and down. So far it seems sufficiently durable to his abuse. Your two-year old will love it!

  • Great pool for the value
    By AY8HWSE5629LQ on 2008-09-14
This pool looks very cool, very much like the picture. It may be a bit smaller than u would expect, but I had my expectations low:-) I bought it for my one year old, so I think it is perfect and will last a long time. Easy to set up. The fountain /sprinkler works great and goes from very low intensity to big splash showers. I would def recommend this to others.

  • Good for two-year-olds
    By A25861KUV3ZUVY on 2008-09-24
My two two-year-olds played with this toy all summer. It is, as suggested in other reviews, much smaller than the packaging would suggest, but is ideal for toddlers. My girls were between 20 and 25 pounds while the weather permitted water play, and the Slide N' Splash Whale Pool was perfect for them. I can't imagine that it would hold up to much larger children, however.

The plastic is strong; a number of other inflatable toys developed punctures this year, but this one has held up. My daughters enjoy this toy so much, I would have rented it for a day for what it cost to purchase! No regrets here.

  • Just OK !!!!
    By A17SQ172E7NNUI on 2008-05-17
This is a baby pool. The manufactures picture is very misleading. It is actually twice as small as their picture. It's just OK, for what you get for and for what you pay. I would not consider purchasing it for kids older than 4 years of age. (See pic of my two boys.

  • Not Thrilled At All....
    By A2ICJTMFLAGDRY on 2008-06-10
My three year old son received this pool as a gift. After spending an hour blowing it up (the electric pump I was using burned out after 15 minutes), the one side of the slide deflated within 30 minutes of use. My son still enjoyed splashing around in it...by the next morning, the pool was deflated and had to go in the trash. Not worth the $[...] bucks and the headache after blowing it up!!

  • Great pool for those under 3 years old
    By A1ABDNNW80X2CU on 2008-06-11
My 2 year old loved this pool for her birthday. Her 7 year old sister was too big to go down the slide without it collapsing but the little ones loved it.
