  • Great Gameplay for Those who Love Small Squad Combat

    By A3V6Z4RCDGRC44 on 2007-03-25
Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 picks up where AW1 left off - and brings in a higher level of graphics as well as some new changes to the physics engine. This means if you loved AW1 you'll be thrilled - and if you weren't fond of AW1, you probably won't change your mind here.

To start with, the overall graphics are really quite nice here. The level of detail on individual characters is quite impressive, with the guns, radio, ammo, sunglasses etc. that they carry. A HUD video will pop up with news transmissions or personal broadcasts. The mini-map is in three dimensions to help you with urban assault. Pieces of paper blow down the street. Heat waves and dust storms impair your vision. You really get the sense that this world you move through is barren, dusty, hot and ominous.

The sound fits in very well with this real-world atmosphere. When you're roaming the streets of Mexico, the locals are calling out Spanish dialogue. Bullet shots zing past your head, and the voice acting, while not stellar, is not wooden either.

You're not alone on your missions. You have up to three teammates with you. You can choose from a limited selection of individuals and can make some basic choices - medic, rifleman, antitank gunner. It matches your team up with your personal style of gameplay. I also like that they have some female players in here, and that they aren't the traditional "hide in the back nurses" games that some games offer!

Firing seems a bit slow - when you hit the trigger, it seems like there's a delay before the shot is made. So your own personal actions can get a bit frustrating. On the other hand, team control is well done. You can have your team taking cover alongside you, helping you to wipe out the enemy in well coordinated movement.

You can't go Rambo here and expect to survive. Full out running frontal assaults typically spell doom. Instead, you need to survey your surroundings, creep up slowly, peer around the rock and headshot your enemy before he spots you.

We're generally not fans of "make your squad do things" games - we tend to enjoy games like Splinter Cell where you are directly in control of all actions. But we were very pleasantly surprised with how smoothly and easily this game let you work with your team. The levels that involved alternate styles of gameplay - like riding in a chopper and shooting down enemies as you passed by - were a nice variation as well.

There are a few issues that you just have to accept - for example, in the chopper level - surely someone down there had a rocket launcher and could have shot you down pretty quickly! If the situation was reversed, and you were guarding a convoy under assault from a group of helicopters - you would easily have taken them down.

Still, that's how a game works, and in general we really enjoyed this one. It was fun to play - and fun for others to watch, which is a good indication of how well paced, voiced and "drawn" a game is. It was like watching an interesting war movie, and you got swept up in the events as they rolled out.

  • Fabulous Addition to Clancy Arsenal

    By AN1BPCPP14DMS on 2007-03-06
I'm writing this review only having played the demo. But having played teh first one and this one, there's a very clear difference. The visuals are outstanding, especially the explosions. What GRAW seems to do best is tie you into the intensity of the battle. W/ the wicked loud grenade explosions and gunfire ringing in your ears. When played on an HD TV and surround sound, this game will blow you away. What really gives it its value is the 18 fully fleshed out multiplayer maps it ships w/ and the different game modes. you can even play on a team with 15 other players against a huge force of rebels. Worth the money!

    Hope this was helpful!

I love the Ghost Recon series, and just about every Tom Clancy game. Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter 2 (GRAW 2) is a great war game. The graphics are excellent, the sound is top-notch, and the gameplay is some of the best around. If you're a fan of war games, this is the one to get.

    Graphics:

The graphics in the game are great. The environment looks spectacular, especially when the sun is shining on water. Individual leaves on trees cast shadows onto your character, which is really cool to see. The explosions are the best of any video game around, and look very realistic. The character faces could be a bit more detailed themselves, but I'm honestly not looking at the faces of my teammates when I'm shooting an opponent. It's not that they're bad, they could just be a little better. When it's raining outside and a bullet goes by you, you can see the trail of the bullet through the rain. During points of this game, you'll just stand there looking around because it's such a great looking game.

    Graphics Score- 4.5

    Audio:

The audio is just as great as the graphics. From the rustle of your clothing and equipment when you're running, to the sounds of explosions, to the reloading and shots of your guns, the sound is phenomenal. The only knock I have on the audio of this game is that the voice-acting is not very good. Sometimes, it's way over the top. Sometimes it's very good, it's a mixed bag.

    Audio Score- 4.5

    Gameplay:

This is where GRAW 2 shines the most. The gameplay in this game is fantastic, online and offline. Some people say that the gameplay is too slow, I disagree. I think the speed of it is perfect. You shouldn't be able to roll on your stomach in under a second, you've got 30-50 pounds of equipment strapped on your body. The roll speed is perfect to me. Also, it takes a little time to reload a gun, you shouldn't be able to reload in under a second. You have to release the old clip, reach for the new ammo, and finally load the new clip into the gun. Why are people complaining that it taked too long to reload? This is a realistic game, we're not playing Halo.

Offline gameplay is great, but I especially love the online play. There are MANY online modes available, including: Co-Op Campaign, Team Elimination, Capture the Flag, Terorist Hunt, and many others. I usually play Co-Op Campaign because it's more realistic than Team Elimination. The problem with Team Elimination is that most people just run and shoot in order to increase their kills number. They don't care if they die, because they'll respawn in 10 seconds.

Co-Op Campaign allows you to team up with other human players and go through missions against the CPU. This is good because the CPU opponents actually act as a team, and will try to flank you. The AI this year is smarter than previous versions in the series, and that's always a good thing. Most hosts will set respawns off, so your human teammates will treat the missions as they would in real-life. Also, you can add CPU teammates to your team if you don't have enough human participants. The most players allowed in online servers is 16, which is a good number. I think any more than 16 would cause lag, I haven't experienced any significant lag so far, and I've owned the game since the day it was released.

Another complaint from other people is that you can't take cover behind an object and shoot around/above/under it. YES YOU CAN! All you have to do is hold the left bumper button and youtake cover. You can shoot around/above/under the object you're taking cover behind. The only thing you can't do is shoot blindly around your cover, like in Rainbow Six: Vegas. However, you CAN take cover behind objects and shoot around them. This is applicable in BOTH online and Single Player modes. Play with the buttons folks, you'll discover that you can perform many actions in this game.

    Gameplay Score: 5/5

Overall, this is the best Ghost Recon game in the series. It's also the best war game available right now. I don't classify this in the same category as Rainbow Six: Vegas (RSV), because RSV is more of a tactical shooter in close quarters. GRAW 2 is more of a war game in open areas, much like what you would see on a battle field today. If you're a fan of war games at all, you need to go buy GRAW 2 whenever you have the ability.

    OVERALL SCORE: 93%

  • Game freeze problem and bad customer support!

    By A2FD797VCQB95L on 2007-03-15
Good: This title has great and improved graphics. Little tweaks that give this game almost prefect gameplay.

Bad: Short single player campagin. Buggy online voice communication and people drops offline are very common. A little pricer than the last title.

Ugly: Freezing bug (undetermined reasons from software or hardware) makes this game totally unplayable on some old XBox360. Some have even reported that the game bricking their consoles (the 3 red light of doom). Hundreds of complains on the Ubi and MSLive forums but yet any reponse from the companies in the first week. This kind of customer support really breaks many gamers' heart.

  • Pretty much just more of the same...

    By AZJL03R8NDQ7C on 2007-12-10
I kind of have a love/hate relationship with sequels. When a game is great and they make a sequel one of three things can happen:

    1. The sequel just stinks it up,
    2. The sequel is more of the same, or
    3. The sequel improves upon an already great formula.

Obviously, option 1 is bad and option 3 is great. But most sequels (GRAW2 included) fall in option 2 with hints of 1 and 3. GRAW2 is a very short game with the same graphics and gameplay as GRAW and a few improved tweaks on the multiplayer game. By itself, GRAW2 would be a good, albeit short game. But as a sequel with a year's addtional production I just expect more. This game feels more like a $60 expansion pack than a full game. With the explosion of online content for console games I expect to see this kind of crap less and less as a stand alone product and more as additional content. GRAW2 is good but I docked a star because it feels like another piece of subpar development and exploitation by the game megacompanies.

I'll get off my soapbox now. If you really liked GRAW then wait until this goes down to $25 or $30 and then buy it.

  • Rental Yes. Purchase No.
    By A3CB1KQSAE3U5S on 2007-03-22
This game leaves a lot to be desired. The best thing about this game is the toon's movements. Running, crouching, firing etc all look very good.

While it is a good looking game, the single player missions are very short and there are way too many cut scenes. Making my controller vibrate for 5 minutes during an unnecessary Humvee ride just drains my batteries and my patience. The overall storyline of "OMG ROGUE NUKES" is pretty lame.

I didn't enjoy the aiming aspect of this game. I know it's supposed to be wide open while RSV is close quarters, but I never got within 50 yards of an enemey. You just get your gun near, wait for the crosshairs to change and pull the trigger. It was too automatic. They needed to mix up the action.

The remote units are overdone. I don't need to see the camera angle of my remotes, besides when you use that feature your toon just sits still. Boring. The chopper was fun to command, but in the whole game you only get it for a few minutes. The remotes may have been more enjoyable if they required actual tactics. Your team's AI leaves a lot to be desired. Example, if you target someone to kill and then move slightly and target them again your team leaves cover and runs toward your target. That is stupid. Also, after completing the entire game I was still unsure of the best way to heal teammates.

The HUD is also overdone. I felt like I was controlling a terminator, not a ghost.

Online play is not very enjoyable. Again, everything is done from such a distance I feel somewhat detached. There's a lot of sneaking around, but with none of the suspense of RSV. If someone gets you in their crosshairs from across the map, they will not miss (unless you ar running). This takes the skill away.

As mentioned, the gun reacts slowly. If a terrorist runs across your screen you can't lead him with your gun, he will outrun your crosshairs. That's particularly annoying.

I wish I would have rented this instead of buying it. As a rental I would probably rate it higher, $60 later and very little replay value and it's a 3 star game at best.

QUICK EDIT: This game also froze my xbox several times, and my xbox is only a few months old. Every other cutscene required a hard reboot!

  • Five stars but,
    By A109LWN9DUGPDP on 2007-05-24
I just played through this,I've been playing Rainbow Six:Vegas before so I thought I'd give this a try.First the visuals and sound are superb, the outside combat is really cool, love the maps, but the controls are lacking. My biggest complaint is the taking cover feature. In Vegas just like Gears of war you push a button to manually take cover,in this one though its automatic. You walk up to a wall and it automaticlly takes cover, this sounds good but its really not.Throughout the game I did and did not take cover when I wanted it to,it can be awkward.Having said that there is just to much good not to give it 5 stars.Be warned though Rainbowsix Vegas is a better game,so get that one first then go here.

  • Good but...
    By A1MCN64LRNP3O9 on 2007-03-08
I love the ghost reacon series more than any other game, but even though this game is worth buying because you will have fun. I am just disappointed because the only improvement over advanced warfighter was a little better graphs and little better AI.
    NEGATIVES:
*The game will not allow you to react fast to situatios, the gun moves to slow.
*No full co-op campaign which makes this game be another of the bunch and lose one star.
*The same bugs from last version (lose two star).

    POSITIVES:
    *Continuation from last game.
    *Fun to play.

I am still waiting to see fi there will be a game better than Rainbow Six Vegas which in my opinion has been the best game ever created so far.

  • Solid Game But has Issues.
    By A1JO5E9OD96VLO on 2007-03-12
While GRAW2 is definately an improvement over part 1, there are are issues Id wouldve liked see done better. The left to right gun movement while in aim LT mode is sluggish, Ive preferred a option to change L/R gun speed in options menu. And there are at times to many orders and commands to give in the middle of gun fights. Sometimes it takes away the fun factor of playing a game. But I have to say this still is a great game , The weather effects look quite nice on my LCD TV 1080i . There's one desert type MAP where there dust devils are swirling around in the distance which looks quite nice , some of the best ive seen on a console system. Also I like how sometimes if I die and reload a checkpoint ..the weather has comepletly changed from sunny to dense fog type conditions. And if you go very slow in a map you'll see it go from sunny to dark night, which adds to the koolness factor. The A.I. isnt very agressive I dont remember ever being flanked one time. So dont expect VEGAS SIX type enemies. I do feel that many elements of the graphics are nicely done ,especially the weather. But I will say if you dont have HDTV you might get a different impression. If your a fan of GRAW1 you should be happy with this game. But the A.I. does seem less intelligent than games like Rainbow Six Vegas, or GEARSofWAR.But I still had funplaying it. After playing the spectacular GEARSofWAR and R/S-VEGAS story campaigns a bazillion times its nice to have something fresh to run through. AT least rent it and beat it in 2-4 days.Peace.

  • Impressive
    By A2342UGVLCNTU6 on 2007-03-10
The graphics and gameplay are really impressive for my first Ghost Recon game. The only downside to this game is that there are way too many controls to remember and at times it can be confusing and frustrating when trying to control your squad. The shooting needs to be improved slightly but it doesn't take the fun away from the game.

  • Ghost Recon 2-Excellent Game, Just A Couple of Complaints
    By A2PATSWMA38ZEE on 2007-03-24
This is an excellent game. I am not very good at tactical shooters, and one thing you learn early, you must be careful, use cover, and choose your shots--you pretty much always out numbered to a great degree and if you try to "run and gun" you WILL be killed. Strategy is more important than marksmanship--it's more of a "hitman" game method (take cover watch for enemies, notice their movement patterns) than a "quake" or "Doom" type shooter (try to kill everything that moves). The levels have several components to each mission, marked off by "checkpoints'" you must make it through several areas to get to the next "day." Many times you will go into the final (most difficult) area at about 50% health and low on ammo; it is essential to use your squad (if you have them; many times you're dropped in somewhere alone to start with) to do the later fighting, ALWAYS make proper use of cover, pick up enemy weapons when your rifle ammo is low, etc. Otherwise you will die again and again. Well, you die again and again, anyway. lol.

Anyway, this game picks up, from what I understand, where the first one left off (I have it but haven't finished it; I got frustrated when a got stuck at an early point). You have another highly critical mission down in Mexico, something to do with missing nukes, and you must undertake several different types of missions, clearing ares of enemies, destroying their heavy equipment, extracting VIPs, etc. What I like is, you are free, to an extent to figure out the best way to do things. I don't want to give too much away, but, there is one spot, after I tried to get through many many times (those of you playing the game might know that spot when i tell you what i did), finally got exasperated, and just ran like hell to the ojbective point, taking a few hits along the way, lol. The game is very addictive, at least to me, I will keep trying and trying until I get whatever the problem is correct. I do think that the game is an improvement on GRAW1.

Now, to my complaints--the "checkpoint" autosave thing always bugs me. I much prefer a "save anywhere" type system. The problem with "checkpoints" is they are usually spaced quite aways apart; its tough if you only have a limited time per day to spend gaming, and you have to take an hour to go from the LZ to ALMOST the next stage, get killed, and have to start all over again! (and hear the same stuff over and over and over-"Dammit! I need a SITREP!" argggghhhh).

The other thing I didn't like about the game (and GRAW1) is, you are in this huge city, and except for a few enemies, it's empty? I think it would be more of a challenge if there was traffic, innoncent bystanders to watch out for (or kill, if you're in a bad mood, muhahahahaha) and things like that, not just a ghost town. They way they have it, it seems a lot like the whole thing is a training exercise, with the Ghosts as the trainess and the terrorists as the OPFORS, that's how it strikes me, anywyay.

But those little things don't change the fact this is an excellent game. I recomment it highly.

  • Well executed, but short
    By A2UN5UY8Q6YMOF on 2007-04-16
If you like tactical shooters, the Tom Clancy games are the ones to get. This is a third person shooter and in much of the game you have control of a squad of 3. The game closely follows the first installment, with perhaps more polished graphics. The game can get complicated when you have to control your team as well as a UAV, Mule, A1 tank, etc. My biggest complaints are that the AI is still not that good (Rainbow 6 Vegas is much better) and the single player mission is short. If money is tight, get the first installment. If time is short, get Rainbow 6 Vegas. If neither is an issue, than get them all and enjoy!

  • Not as good as Rainbox6
    By A30N7EXG8VDNRB on 2007-04-17
My opinion is Rainbow6 is one of the best games out right now for the 360. I would buy that one over this one with out question, especially if you are going to be playing multi-player. GRAW2 is probably a better single player game, but everything changes in its multi-player. T

he guns behave differently for example in single player when using a sniper rifle, the cross hairs drift around and you have to stabilize them by controlling your breathing. In multiplayer you see these red lines and your shot will randomly end up somewhere within those red lines, not where your cross hairs are.

The movement in single player is really good. You can 'post up' on walls look out around corners etc. These features dont exist in multi-player. Not sure why, they just dont.

If I am want to play a shooter alone, i will play GRAW, if I am playing with friends, we definitely will play rainbox6.

A note to UBISOFT...why make the controls different between your games? Would be nice if buttons like reload were the same between the games.

  • Well done single player... Frustrating multiplayer for the newbie
    By A34UT5QP49A96R on 2007-05-26
Let me begin by saying... I like Tom Clancy's games. I own or have rented most of them...

I also tend to like playing games... alone

That said, I enjoyed the single player game. Played on the harder levels, the game is a challenge, enjoyable and the plot is... well semi- kind of- plausible. The single player game, made the game enjoyable...

The multiplayer game was frustrating to say the least. If you enjoy playing with a handful of people you don't know... you will probably be okay. That said, be prepared to get chatted up by hosts more interested in talking then playing. Be prepared to get booted to make room for another player. Get prepared to get booted because you have a low rank and a higher ranked player doesn't want to lose to you (as it may in turn lower his rank). If you want to try and play with a friend, be prepared to spend some time trying to find the same ranked server... I got rid of the game earlier than expected, because of frustration with the multiplayer games...

In conclusion, if you are used to some of the frustration associated with multiplayer games on xbox live, and still love them... give this a go. If you want a challenging, rewarding single player game (though a little short), RENT THIS...

  • One More Exellent Game
    By on 2007-03-10
I believe that the people who say that this game has not improved over GRAW are being to hard. The graphics are better, the gameplay is better, and the stratagy is better. GRAW 2 is a blast to play alll around.

  • A disgrace to the Clancy games
    By A2OFZJ5YYXJ4AR on 2007-03-12
This game is terrible. The controls are counterintuitive and inconsistent. the motion (specifically of aiming) is very sluggish and frustrating. Also, the campaign has way too much talking and extra little things going on. If you want a sweet Clancy combat game, go for Rainbow Six Vegas. It is fifty times better.

  • GRAW2 Is A Deep Simulation Into a Warzone
    By A2OHZE6G60JZFM on 2007-03-18
Regardless of what people say GRAW2 can easily be considered one of the best games ever made. After buying a used version of the first one (which I still play) I knew that I would be dropping 60 dollars the first day it came out which I did. When I started playing I did'nt stop until I ran into a seriously hard part and gave up. This is one of the most realistic games ive ever played, the ability to command a 3 man squad an to help with firefights is amazing. You are really looking through a soldiers eyes and all of the visuals and sounds are on point it really feels like you are in the middle of an intense firefight, now i understand how they feel in Iraq! It keeps you in suspense the whole time because your enemies come from everywhere, snipers, grunts, you name it they're coming at you and hard. The weapons are completley different than in any other game as far as realism, there's even one gun with a camera in it so that you can hide and look around walls without compromising your safety. The new features are damn sexy, you can now watch through the eyes of your team members as they execute any moves you command them to do, which makes the team combat in single player mode a blast to play, you have to be careful and quick with the trigger to make it through a lot of the situations. Buy this game along with GRAW 1 if you dont have it you will not be disappointed. XBOX live will keep you up all night and day battling against human opposition. The XBOX 360 really displays how amazing technology is, and this is the game to prove it, SCREW GEARS OF WAR (WHICH IS THE WORST GAME EVER MADE) GRAW 2 DESERVES GAME OF THE YEAR!!

  • Best game out!
    By A3DTJVZNRYTVHC on 2007-04-15
I have a PS3 and Xbox 360, and this is the best game available on any HD game console. The graphics are amazing, the sound is awesome, and the gameplay is addictive. I play this game mostly online/multiplayer, but single player mode is also very fun. I have no complaints about this game and it is exactly what I've been waiting for to come out.

I have played almost all of the PS3 games, and none even come close to this one. Out of all of the xbox 360 games this is way better than crackdown or anything else that has recently come out.

  • Fun and accurate, even to a soldier
    By A1S2XTYNZZ1MMK on 2007-05-16
Every time I play GRAW2 I feel like I'm back at work. The accuracy of the game to real life stratagies and tactics that I use in day to day life never ceases to amaze me. Also, playing online or system link can be great fun, especially with a group of good friends.

  • Ghost Recon 1 or 2? Please Tell me.
    By AGOFVWIPVRQRX on 2007-05-24
A formative fan of all the UBI Soft games dating back to Rainbows, Rogue, and the Recon Series, this XBOX Release leaves a great deal to offer.
The limited number of missions, the repetitive missions just leave a sour taste in the mouth of someone whose just shelled out 50 quid.
Get a creative team to overhaul the system.

The one real positive is the ability to control your armored support, and other team members. The limited incorporation of the little birds, tanks, and armored support is tremendous.
UBISOFT, Red Storm or Tom Clancy himself need to send his creative team to Afghanistan, Baghdad, the Jungles of the Phillipines and Indonesia, even take a crack at some places in Sudan or Somalia.
This is a SHOOTER GAME, use and create some environments that are real and those that our Special Ops community are engaging in right now, TODAY! and apply these new age weapons to it.
Not the US Going to War with Mexico. Dont worry, it wont be another black hawk down, your designers are too good to let that happen.

The budgets available to these creative teams Should be tremendous given the past revenues which this game has produced. To the World Traveler, this just looks like a poor attempt to get another product on the shelf.

If this producer wants to keep his job, he will get back to what got him there.

  • 360 vs. PS3 variant; A comparison
    By A2CWD0WNCNIXG6 on 2007-11-23
For Ghost recon advanced warfighter 2, or GRAW 2 as i'll call it here, the 360 variant was better. Now maybe you might not have the choice of the two but just in case, here it is.
I gave a 5 star review for it on the PS3 version. That was somewhat unfair to the 360 version as I have just recently bought a 360 and GRAW 2. The PS3 variant has one more multiplayer map I can think of then the 360 version does, but the 360 version has so much more. If i were a newcomer to Blu-ray vs dual DVD-rom on the 360, I'd have said the 360 version was Blu-ray simply because; 1, better resolution, the PS3's can only go to 720p, whereas the 360's is 1080i, or even 1080p. 2. Some People say that this doesn't have co-op campaign? Well they are half right. While you can't play the co-op campaign you CAN play at home, offline co-op campaing missions, about 6 of 'em. You have objectives to accomplish, allies to fight with, etc.. It's not as in-depth as the single player one, with only a mild pep talk from the brass and a list of objectives, but it still has value. I did not notice this on the PS3 one. 3. You can ALSO, customize your missions, at least to an extent. You can decide if you want to respawn 3, or even half a dozen times for those of you who are new at this. And When you do Co-op elimination, i.e, shoot a mass of A.I. controlled bad guys on a map, you can control if you want a low number, medium number, or high number (I prefer high for massive battles). Then there is the helicopter hunt where the helicopter's fly around you and you shoot them down with whatever until they get ticked at you enough to rocket you into the ground and then you have to really pay attention to what you are doing. There is the Ability to control areas of the battlefield against waves of opponets. Essentially, think modern day, scaled down carbine of Halo when it comes to multiplayer. Again, maybe it's on there but I didn't notice all this on the PS3 version.
    4. Online play, and Achivements. Now why exactly am i going to work my thumbs and fingers exhausted for a pat on the back with the ps3? You get achivement points for accomplishing many different feats on this game, and for completing it on harder difficulties. Now I don't have online where I live, not even DSL, but It still owns most other games for offline multiplayer. Only STW battlefront series, and Maybe MOH and Halo can compete with what I've seen here. Again, just preference, but It's still great.
    5. Price. You can get a 39.99 game for the 360, or 59.99 for the PS3. (and for me who got up at 3 on the 23rd of nov. friday and went to best buy and got it for $19 new!). So you get more for your dollar with the 360 if you have the choice.
So if you're hoping for a FPS with great multiplayer and are a tad dissapointed with the call of duty offline multiplayer like me, then GRAW is the way to go!

  • Serious freezing issues
    By A16BS82E9SL9NP on 2007-03-12
Exchanged the game 3 times, and still suffering from total freezing in the first mission/tutorial. If you have a first gen xbox 360, be warned. i own many many xbox 360 games, and all work fine, so this was a surprise and a bummer. Hope Ubisoft handles it.

  • One of the best Clancy games
    By AQKR8U3LFFAGS on 2007-03-14
I love this game! It's even better than the first! I don't know why some people keep saying that rainbow six is the best, GRAW clearly out performs it. Personally, i didn't like rainbow six all that much, but I am waiting for the sequel. Also as a side note, I did have the freezing issue, but I exchanged it and got a new one and it works great. Must be a first gen bug, I'm sure if you buy one now, it will work fine. (Also, for all of you reviewers that said that the controls were sluggish, rainbow six was sluggish and it's not halo, it's a combat simulator)

  • GREAT but not Prefect!
    By A267MGUA8FFCI4 on 2007-03-14
When I first played the demo I said to my self you know what I am not going to buy it. When I would sign on xbox live and see all of my friends playing the game I went out and bought it. Not dissapointed at all. 1. the new maps all 20 are big and goregous. 2. The weapons are sweet. I am one of the biggest critics of games there is and I would reccommend this one. It has a nice feature so you can create a clan or join one I really like that. overall fun factor is a 5.

Every Map has tactcle angles and hinding spots. you have to watch out 360 degrees but being a Iraq war vetran i can agree to that aspect. I will say that online is a tad bit laggy more than the first would be my only beef that and you cant run though bushes you get stuck on them other than that GET UP OFF YOUR CHAIR GRAB YOUR CAR KEYS AND DRIVE TO BEST BUY AND BUY THIS GAME WITH ALL OF THE GAME FEATURES THIS GAME WILL KEEP YOU BUSY OH YEAH 1 MORE THING YOU BETTER ORDER A PIZZA CAUSE YOU WONT HAVE TIME TO COOK YOUR FOOD.

  • Is this the Vegas killer?

I like this game but boy oh boy if you have no clue what you are doing, you will be killed on Xbox Live every 10 seconds.

  • great...but...

this game is incredible. BUT, the story is WAYYY too short. GIVE ME MORE!

  • extremely disappointing...

I liked the first Ghost Recon. It was challenging, had some length to it, and was a pretty good game.
Ghost Recon 2 is supposed to be all-new and improved with new features. It's not. It's not even worthy of having 2 in the title, because it's not much more than a sad overpriced expansion pack.
They don't even try with the story. The game is RIDICULOUSLY short. I completed this in a few short hours. Definitely not worth 60 bucks!!!!
Since Rainbox Six: Vegas came out, the whole FPS scene has changed. Save yourself the couple of hours it takes to complete this forgettable game, and save the $60 you'd spend on it. Instead buy RS Vegas and see what the greatest FPS ever made looks like (and it's at least a very challenging, fun, and lengthy game).

  • I've only played the demo, but it is still a killer game!
    By on 2007-03-22
After waiting anxiously for this game for the last week prior to release (all my attention was on Halo 3 before, now they are saying it is comming out next year... I digress.) Anyway after my wait for this title I knew it would be unfortunately be out of reach for a few weeks. Thanks to OXM ( official xbox magazine), I can play a demo version of G.R.A.W. 2! I even get the free chapter 2 dowload when I get the game! This game is a great game, alot better than the first one. Your squads A.I. is clearly improved; this time around, I guess they want to keep their heads on their shoulders. Another great option availible in this game is the Crosscom 2.0, It allows you to use full screen crosscom commands! In G.R.A.W. your only view into what your allies were doing was that 1x1 square at the top of your screen. This fullscreen thing is so usefull in large battles and stealth missions alike. Another great change is the graphical quality. I know you are probably asking how they could get any better; so was I, but belive me "you haven't seen nothing yet!" I have also heard that this, like its predicesor, is a finely tailored online game. Since I don't have Xbox live yet, I am going to have to wait for that one. Buy this game!!!!
