  The product summary doesn't mention it, but the box these come in DOES state that it's for use with Playstation 3 and Playstation 2.
  
  I actually bought these for use with my Playstation 2 and was not disappointed. The difference between the output on the standard cable and this cable on a 61" HDTV is enormous! God of War looked blurry before, but now running it in progressive widescreen mode (480p) the difference is like night and day. Gran Turismo 4 outputs to 1080i and is amazing!
  
  If you have HDTV and a Playstation 2 get this cable, don't worry that the product description doesn't mention playstation 2, the box does.

  I was pretty ignorant of the difference a component cable could make. When we bought an much bigger HDTV, the PS2 games looked really awful on it. All washed out and grainy. Of course some people in the house felt the answer was a PS3 but I couldn't bring myself to drop 600 on it at this time so...for 20 bucks I ordered this cable. I was shocked at how much clearer and crisper the picture is on the games. It's not HD but its not too shabby. For a savings of 580 I can live with it for a good long time and so can the whiny tech obsessed males of the household. It was worth the money and I recommend it.

  I didn't realize that the one I have on my PS2 would work on my PS3 when I ordered this.
  
  I was so impressed by the quality that I kept it and am currently using it (as opposed to using the PS2 one that I already had).

  If Your TV has a component input you should buy this even if it is not high definition (projectors and projection TV's are the most noticeable) you will notice the colors and the image are much better. However some people will not see it is not important if any difference.
  
  So if you are building a home theater you probably already have it, if you just want to play and do not really think there is room for improvement, just stick to the supplied cable.
  Maximum resolution with this is 1080i

  I was concerned that I would lose some picture quality using component cable instead of HDMI. That was not the case.. the picture looks great! And the BlueRay picture is awesome. Was quite surprised how well the PS3 upscaled regular DVD's to HD.

  I actually bought these cables to upgrade the picture on my PS2 (these cables work on both PS2 and PS3) to play it on my new HD TV. Wow, what a difference it made going from s-video to component cables. The picture is so much clearer and the colors seem nicer. I recommend these cables to anyone who wants to upgrade to better video quality on the Playstation 2 and 3. The quality of this product is top-notch.

  Using the RCA cables that came with the PS3, I hardly noticed a graphics upgrade from my PS2. My HDTV does not come with HDMI input so I was a little disappointed that I would be forced to use these. But it really didn't matter. You can use full 1080P just like HDMI cables. The flickering disappears when you use these. The picture quality is incredible using component cables. You can see more of the screen when you set the resolution to 1080P vs 480i, which is important for the Playstation store. Do yourself a favor and get these.

  Go with HDMI or DVI-HDMI if you can. PS3 can not upconvert dvds through this cable, it can only upconvert through the hdmi.
  
  I actually had a difficult time getting this cable to work with my tv. I have an older Samsung hdtv which doesn't allow 480i in at the component connectors. As such, it took a while to adjust the video settings on the PS3. The second problem was when I went to play an old dvd, it wouldn't play on the tv because of the same 480i issue. Since component cables are not allowed to carry upconverted signals, the signal from old dvds is 480i, which doesn't make much sense with getting a PS3 to act as a BluRay, and I assume your only dvd, player.
  
  So my old hdtv has DVI in but no HDMI, so I went with a cheap DVI-HDMI cable from Amazon, and that solved my problems. The audio is routed through the RCA stereo plugs, but one could also use the optical out for audio. DVI does not carry audio signals like HDMI does.
  
  I am no longer using this cable.

  Works as advertised - gets me up to 1080i output on my Playstation 2. Even though it says PS3 it does work on a PS2 just fine. GT4 and Tourist Trophy look awesome on my Sony 46" LCD TV.

  This product works very well with the Playstation 2 console. It's made the picture much crisper as compared to what it was with the composite cables! My only gripe is that the plugs are not very colourful (and thus hard to discern in low light) and are a bit difficult to insert.
  
  Make sure your television supports these cables before you buy them!

  the cable works great, just to let all of you know. but the thing is the length you can spread the video cables from the audion cables is about 8 inches. if you have surround sound that is not running from your tv but another box then you are screwed because it doesnt reach far enough to plug into both. but if you dont have surround sound then i guess you should buy these.

  Despite the title, this product does work on PS2 also. It even is labeled on the package as being compatible.
  
  I would not go as far to say this has completely revitalized my PS2, but the difference is very noticeable. Colors are brighter and crisper.
  
  If I could give it 4.5 stars I would. This is a "flaw" with the quality rather than the product. Composite cables tend to give a blurred signal. When switching to component, the picture is so crisp that you can see sharp edges on larger screens.

  This cable works fine for Playstation 3. But if your TV has a HDMI port get
  an HDMI cable. The picture will be even better than with this cable. Also
  you have only 1 wire to hook up then.

  You get the performance of Monster cables at a fraction of the cost. These work perfect with my slimline PS2 and they fit snugly into my dlp tv unlike monster's which are tight I've heard.

  If you are a PS2 owner who doesn't yet have the PS3 but does have a HDTV, then you MUST buy this cable! It's only 20 bucks but will make games like Madden 08 look as good as any 360 game excpet for a few. Make sure you plug it in right and then play under the component setting on your TV, and thats it. What a great buy.
  
  
• Worth it to get the Sony Brand cables

  For those who don't know, HDMI and component cables offer much better image quality (clarity, contrast, sharpness) than standard cables (called composite) that are included with the PS3. There has been a trend to manufacture "cheaper" (less quality) component cables as of late, because most people with are opting for HDMI, those who have HD tvs (which i don't happen to have.) I tried a third party manufacturer's ps3 component cable and not only did i get some "static" in the picture quality, but the sony cable produced a much better image. This is because the Sony brand cable is a high quality product (OFC copper and gold connectors.) A component cable will make a huge difference in your movie and game play experience, and I would definitely suggest getting a good one, like this one from Sony, versus other "poorer" quality cables offered by other companies.

  These cables are very useful for the PS/3. This product is handy if your TV has the HD component connections. It allows you to go as high as 1080P..
  Shortly after the purchase of this, I ordered sony's HDMI to HDMI cable. Though HDMI is recommended for your HD TV, however if you don't have HDMI port on your TV, and you have the HD component plugs on the back of your TV, This is the way to go. This product really works well.

  I have been using my composite cables that came with my PS2 ever since I bought it. When one of the audio cables stopped working, I decided to grab these Component AV Cables instead. DEFINITELY the right decision.
  
  THe quality when watching DVDs is outstanding, and I've noticed an overall sharpness in my games. The plugs are very sturdy, even more so than the launch cables. If you are in the market for PS2 AV cables, skip the composite ones and go with these component cables!

  For the price offered, this product can't be beat. Monster wanted as much as $70 for their's. The picture is excellent and the connections are snug.
  After all, it'smade by Sony for the Playstation. Evidently, PS2 and PS3 have the same AV connection. A must have for any PS owner.

  These cables look and feel high quality and give a high quality picture. You will need to adjust your contrast/brightness settings once you use these cables to get the best picture.
  For some reason when I hook up the Ps3 to my tv via HDMI I get terrible color banding.
  So I was forced to buy these for a fix. I was expecting a big picture downgrade, but you dont lose much. HDMI however is better, crisper and sharper picture. I've seen some tvs hooked up with cheap component cables where the color looks washed out and theres picture problems. Thats not the case with these cables, you get the feeling that these component cables deliver the absolute best component picture possible.

  I used these in conjunction with my PS3 and SDTV and it worked great. Much better than crappy composite cables. Now that I use an HDTV with the PS3 and HDMI, I use these component cables with my beloved PS2. How's that for getting your money's worth!

  I think this is a pretty good quality component cables for the price. It made my PS2 games look much better on my HDTV. It makes 480p, 720p, and 1080i compatible games look so much better. I have played both God of Wars and Gran Turismo 4 in 480p and 1080i and the look great.

  It not GREAT persay, but it's much better than the A/V cord that comes standard to the ps3, they should've just put this cord attached to the reg A/V cord just like the 360's A/V cord set up. I like the fact that it also work with the Ps2 outlet. It seems to make my DVD movies look alot sharper but it it doesn't do much for my ps2/psOne games on HD though.

  This cable is great. I've heard that it gives an equal picture quality to HDMI. The picture is incredible. HDMI my give better sound, I'm not sure, but I'm very happy about the way that it works.
