yes, but with Shure's ear adapters, sounds is amazingly good for price By A1A306IAZ3TM1 on 2007-06-12
I agree with the other reviewer. In fact, the rubber adapters for your ears that come with these are the huge downfall (as well as the fact that these have the same dumb type of cord the Sony's all have where they are unequal lengths on different sides so you are supposed to drap around back of neck--to me this bugs me because of cord always touching neck). Anyway, I happen to have some extra medium sized rubber ear adapters for a set of Shure ear buds (Shure PA749A Flex Sleeves). I have Shure earbuds but wanted a pair I cared less about for exercise. Well, amazingly, with the flex sleeves for the Shures, these cheapo Koss earbuds sound incredibly good. Really excellent, especially for the price. So, if you want some good sounding earbuds for less money, and you have rubber flex sleeves made by another company or want to order the Shure's noted above, you will end up with an excellent sounding set of earbuds for a lot less than others. Of course, Koss could have designed better flex sleeves in the first place, because the ones that come with these units are worthless, just as the other review notes.
WIth the Shure sleeves, these are actually more comfortable (to my ears) than the Shure earbuds.
A Disgrace By A1LQ5CTFUSLJ04 on 2007-05-28
The housing feels pretty solid but that's where the good stuff ends. They simply sound like crud. Everything is muddy and there is no detail or resolution to speak of. Even when there should be a small amount of bass impact, these simply distort. Highs are just as bad. The treble is barely there and just sounds like the earphone is underwater.
They come with 3 tip sizes in the package. On all my other canalphones I have always used the medium tip successfully. On the KEB/24 the middle size was too large and "sticky" and pulled sideways over the housing during insertion. The small tips were tiny and no good as well. I tested them using the tips from my Audio Technica ATH-CK7 which fit easily. The results were no different.
There is no reason why ANYONE should EVER buy these canalphones. Koss has taken everyone for a ride and released a horribly subpar product at a retail price which offers legitimate options for decent comfort and sound quality. There is no reason why anyone should buy these over the HA-FX33, HA-FX55, Razer m100, etc, etc, etc.
Great for the price By A12XZNSS2YKQSB on 2007-08-29
I've been looking for earbuds that would be better than the original ipod ones. I even tried the earbuds from apple that go into the ear canal, but they were much to large. I guess I have small ear holes, but the smallest ear inserts fit me best. They fit comfortably in my ear.
great quality for the price By AV56YWTHDJ42I on 2008-05-13
I actually found these earbuds to be the most comfortable and best sounding earbuds I've ever had. I had to use the smallest size of the rubber covers, and for the first time ever, a pair of earbuds actually fit. I didn't find them uncomfortable, and I found the sound to be great for my purposes. If you're just looking for a comfortable pair of earbuds for a good price, I'd recommend these.
The only downfall I found was that the rubber can slip off sort of easily. I lost one on a plane once when I was putting my bag in the overhead compartment and the earbuds were around my neck.
Uncomfortable and odd length cord By A3S15YGZ6W6EV2 on 2007-12-16
Only when reading here did I discover that the unequal cord lengths on my earphones was a feature not a mistake. No matter - these earphones went back. I never really got a chance to decide how nice the sound could be, the earplugs were so incredibly uncomfortable that I couldn't wear them for two minutes. I don't think I have weird ears (people don't point and faint), so I assume that the fault was that of the earplugs. I went back to my old favorite; Koss Plugs, and am happy once again.
