    (102 reviews)
Moby Wrap Baby Carriers are amazingly comfortable and easy to wear! The design of the Moby Wrap uses your entire back, as well as your shoulders, to carry the weight of your baby. Unlike other carriers, which have narrow straps or go across one shoulder, the Moby Wrap is a wide piece of fabric that is wrapped over both shoulders and tied on your waist. There are no buckles, snaps or other fasteners which make wearing simple. The Moby Wrap is long enough to fit all sizes of baby wearers and babies - preemie to 35 lbs.

Wraps and Slings Compared By A3AQ0XF0PWYZEZ on 2007-06-03
The moby wrap is my all-time favorite carrying device for our 3-month old.
Our baby loves to be carried and for the first couple of months wouldn't sleep unless she was held so I did a bunch of research on different wraps and slings, and bought several to compare. Here is my 2-cents:
Mobywrap:
My all-time favorite. It is really not hard at all to put on, though it does take 2 mins to wrap it. After a while you can get the hang of wrapping it even in public places, but I mostly wrap it onto myself before I leave the house then just wear it until I am ready to put baby in, take her out, put her back in etc. I have used the moby for shopping, for trans-atlantic flights, and even to go bowling. It rocks!
Best things about it: soft t-shirt material gentle for baby and comfy for me, distributes weight across back, lots of different positions depending on whether she is sleeping or active (I use cradle when sleeping, and face her out when she is awake, then face her in when she is awake but likely to fall asleep soon), most secure.
Downsides: warmer in the summer, does take a couple of mins to put on, harder to get baby out of without waking up so once she falls asleep in there I keep her in until the end of her nap which means I can't take a shower for example.
Front carriers: (I have the Baby Bjorn Active)
This is my second-favorite carrier - and the only one my husband will wear! It distributes the weight very well and is great for longer days out, hiking etc. As she has become older this has become better and better and I feel we will get the most out of it in the next 3-6 months
Upsides: Distributes weight well, feels very secure, baby can face out or in, allows air to flow around baby
Downsides: Material feels a bit rough around baby's face, perhaps not good to use for long periods because of leg/back development (baby bears all her weight on crotch)
Ring slings: ( I have the Maya wrap and Oopababy)
I like the Oopa better than the Maya as the material is softer and easier to pull through the ring. I use this for around the house and short trips.
Upsides: Variety of positions, easy to throw on and chuck the baby in, can gently back out of and put baby down if she falls asleep in the wrap, easy to adjust
Downsides: Single shoulder so less comfy for long periods of time, less secure when moving about a lot
Pouches (I have a Hotsling)
I use this for short trips and evening-time due to nice patterns and simplicity
Upsides: Cool patterns, easiest to throw on and put baby in, coolest for summer wear
Downsides: Feels the least secure of all options. The material is soft and shiny and she seems to slip down into it rather in the cradle position. Also single shoulder so less good for long walks.
Padded sling: (I have one of these - can't remember the brand)
Upsides: Most comfortable for baby to sleep in then be transfered to a cot
Downsides: Bulkier and warm in the summer, single-side carry issue again
If I had to buy only ONE carrier I would get the moby. If I had to get two it would be a tough call between the bjorn and the ring sling for #2.
Enjoy wearing your babies all!
A Must-Have for Colicky Babies By A1R4R68T0RBYFS on 2007-01-12
This is number one on my list for how my husband, daughter and I have survived her months of colic! What we like about it:
- The Moby wrap was able to be used the day we brought our preemie baby home from the hospital.
- The Moby wrap swaddles your baby snuggly to you. If your baby likes swaddling as much as our does, this is the baby carrier for you.
- It spreads the weight out evenly across your back and shoulders and feels much better for longer periods of time (in comparison to our Baby Bjorn).
- There are a variety of ways to wear your baby with this carrier. We have used it 4 different ways so far. Being able to pull the cloth completely over her so she can sleep soundly is a plus. The instructions are easy to follow and while it looks difficult to put on, it really is quite simple after you've practiced it 3 or 4 times.
- The Moby wrap is easy to clean with being machine washable and dryable and there are no parts that can be broken or lost.
What we don't like about the Moby wrap:
- If you plan on wearing your baby to go grocery shopping or other things out in public, you need to put it on before you leave the house. It can be difficult to put on in the car or in places where you do not feel comfortable with the wrap touching the floor (parking lot, public floor, etc.). This is not a big deal, but important to remember before you run out the door. During the cooler months, I put the Moby on, then my coat.
Bottom-line: The Moby wrap was an excellent purchase. Putting our daughter in it and walking around or bouncing on an exercise ball was one of the few ways to calm her during the height of her colic. Our daughter is now 5-months old and still enjoys the Moby. We expect to continue to use our Moby wrap for many more months.
Don't buy anything other than the Moby! You won't regret it! By A1849BKF4HG5WK on 2007-05-18
Let me just say I LOVE LOVE LOVE this sling!
I bought this sling two days before a ten hour flight with a three hour layover. My daughter either slept the whole time or looked around at her surroundings. In fact, the only time she was fussy or cried was when I took her out to change her or for take off and landing. My back did not hurt at all the WHOLE time. I feel she is very secure and never worry about her slipping out as I did with my other slings.
I got the wrapping correct and memorized the very first time and haven't needed the booklet since. The second I put my daughter in it she was quiet and happy, she looked around at what I was doing until she fell asleep, like magic! While I am wearing her, I am able to do most housework and even sit at the computer.
I own the Hotsling which hurt my back just 15 min after wearing and my daughter made strange noises while in it that always make me uneasy. I also own a Baby Bjorn, but i worry about pinching her and it also hurt my back after about 30 minutes.
The only possible negative about the Moby is that you have to learn how to put it on in public without it touching the ground. I usually use a shopping cart, or a bench. Though, it is not enough of a negative for me to give it less than five stars. Also, people say that the fabric is too stretchy to securely hold their child. But, the only way I can see that happening is if you tied it too loose to begin with. If I initially wrap it correctly I do not have to readjust it at all.
I hardly ever use a stroller anymore. When I go to the supermarket I just pop her in the Moby, grab my diaper bag, and go, no stroller. In the Mall I take the stroller only to hold my bags. All in all, this has been a tremendous lifesaver for me, and because of it, my home is finally getting cleaned and back to normal, LOL.
Super Comfortable! By A3C2SLKHZ9DTQV on 2007-01-15
Prior to using the Moby Wrap, I used the Infantino sling and the Baby Bjorn. The Moby Wrap is, by far, the most comfortable one. It distributes the weight of the baby evenly across the back, reducing neck and shoulder pain. The process of getting the wrap on is a bit daunting at first, but with some practice it becomes super easy.
Great for new babies especially! By A22B13EJTZKCTM on 2007-07-24
I bough this wrap because my newborn wanted to be held constantly during his first couple months.
Pros:
- Can accommodate a number of different types of front and back holds.
- It is very comfortable to wear; as the wide fabric over the shoulder distributes the infants weight nicely.
- It can really snuggle your infant in good. You can even pull the fabric over the baby's head a little to block light.
- My boy would sleep in this for a couple hours at a time when he was newborn to 8 weeks old.
- Washes up easily
Cons:
- Takes a bit of time to get used to putting on; at first it's hard to get everything on tight enough but not too tight.
- Takes too long to put on and take off.
- The long length of fabric always ends up dragging on the floor as you put it on. Maybe not normally a big deal but it really sucked while camping.
- Too Bulky to stick in a diaper bag.
- As my baby got bigger it was too restraining for him and took too much fooling around to get him in it.
I really never used this wrap again after my baby was 12 weeks old or so. I ended up getting a Hotslings Sweet Pea Size 3 instead. This sling takes two seconds to put on, is small enough for my purse. It's not as comfortable as the Moby sling but it is wonderful for portability and works great with babies that can hold their heads up. My little boy loves to ride in the hip sling position. One disadvantage for the hotsling is that they are sized (you and your husband might need different sizes.)
- Wonderful product
     By A318MRBR7DQJRR on 2007-09-28
My husband and I both enjoy carrying our daughter in this, and I've been asked where to get one almost every time I've used it. I was worried that it would be a hassle to use, like a big origami project every time I wanted to bring the baby out. But no, it's very easy and quick, I promise. I'm cursed with a bad back, so my other concern was that wearing my baby would be painful for me. Perhaps with a more "strappy" type of carrier, but this distributes the baby's weight evenly and elegantly. My only word of warning is that babies could overheat if worn for a while on a hot day, particularly if you're a warm person, so just use some common sense.
- cozy and flexible
     By A3HVF7YKI3YJVQ on 2007-02-17
I have several slings and carriers, and the Moby Wrap is one of my favorites. It takes a little practice to get used to wrapping & tying it, but it's very comfortable and secure once on. It is warm, though! Unlike a lot of carriers, it's very adjustable, and will grow with your child. It's also completely washable, since it's actually just a long strip of jersey with instructions.
- A MUST HAVE!
     By ADYGYQNQ6M1JD on 2007-02-21
I just bought a Moby Wrap and I love it!!!
My son is 4 months old and is a huge baby. He's already outgrown the Baby Bjorn carrier - that thing killed my back! I have been holding him less and less lately because he is so heavy and he has been getting fussier and more irritable as a result.
With the Moby Wrap it feels like he weighs nothing! It's amazing. It is so simple, but brilliant because it transfers the weight across your back and torso.
I highly recommend it and wish I had discovered it sooner.
- My favorite baby carrier
     By A2QVUQJEQ5XK8P on 2007-03-08
I own three different baby carriers, and this is by far my favorite. It holds my son close and snug to my body, which is what "baby-wearing" is all about. The Moby Wrap disperses his weight over my shoulders and back, which makes it a lot more comfortable for me to wear than any of the other baby carriers, and because it doesn't have any buckles, rings or even scratchy hem lines, he is a lot more comfortable in it.
There is one draw back, and thus 4 stars rather than 5, that it takes a little bit of practice to wrap it correctly and get baby positioned correctly. I practiced twice (with a bag of potatoes!) while I was still pregnant, and found it very easy to use as soon as our son was born.
(The fabric is wonderfully stretchy, which is perfect for a young baby, but I would strongly recommend the Moby D which has a non-stretch panel for a heavier or older child.)
- All wrapped up
     By A2JVBV6RDKP3TH on 2006-10-27
I love the moby wrap. I also love the idea of baby wearing. We had also bought a sling and a front carrier(babckpack style). Our little guy hates both of those. The sling swallowed him up and he didnt seem secure in it. The front carrier is uncomfertable for both of us. It seems to pinch his legs, very odd. The moby wrap is great though. It is very secure and it keeps us oh so close. I have worn him in two differant positions, the new born hold and now that he is bigger he can be worn facing me. It is great if it is cool or he decides to nap I can pull a portion of the wrap over his head to pull him in even closer. We had our son when it was extreamly hot in the middle of summer. Temps around 110 + so we didnt get to use this alot in the beginning. It is cooler now and we enjoy it very much. It is really easy to learn how to put this on. It comes with a very easy to use instruction booklet, with great step by step pics. I put it on before we leave the house (if we are driving) and once we get to our destination...like the mall, or grocery store, I pop little guy into it and off go. My only issue with it and why I give it 4 rather then 5 stars is because it is difficult to take off. Or at least I havent mastered that part yet. I totally recommend this wrap!!!
- Wonderful feeling
     By A5GPH59NDWJRB on 2007-05-04
I'm new to "babywearing," and just got my Moby Wrap. I found the instructions so simple-- within 3 minutes of opening the package, I already had my baby all wrapped and secure. She was asleep about a minute later. :)
I've used the Baby Bjorn until now, and there's no comparison. It's so nice to have the baby wrapped in just smooth fabric, no clasps or buckles or edges to worry about. I highly recommend giving this a try.
- LOVE IT! (but NOT in the Summer!)
     By A1VVUCE1ZK1FG8 on 2007-09-27
I love this carrier! It does take practice to get it just right for you and your baby, but it is SURPRISINGLY EASY to wrap. Only took me once to learn how to do it. very versitile and VERY comfortable on my bad back! My daughter (2 mos. old now) has acid reflux, so she LOVED being upright in this carrier, and snuggled chest to chest close to Mama. Made those long nights of carrying her around while she cried, MUCH easier! This is my 4th child, and I've never had a carrier that baby could be THIS snuggly, close and secure in!! I absolutely love it, and so does she.
Here's my ONE complaint. -- I had a summer baby and the Moby was TOO HOT to wear much! Especially outside! It doesn't help that my baby happens to be a little heat box anyway, even when NOT in the Moby. I have been looking forward to cooler weather so that I can use it more often! I imagine baby and I are gonna LOVE the warmth of snuggling in the Moby this winter!
Helpful Tip -- When you are going out with baby in the car, and you want to put him/her in the Moby when you get to your destination... put Moby on BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE. That way, you aren't standing in a parking lot getting the Moby all dirty while you try to put it on (it's VERY long and hits the ground as you're wrapping it, but NOT once it's wrapped). I found this to be a very easy solution. I could take baby right out of the carseat and pop her in the Moby and go.
This is an item not many people in my area of the country have seen. I've never seen another mom with one. I get a lot of looks and questions about it. Once, while wearing her all hidden inside it at an Asian buffet, the Manager kept watching me, with a troubled expression on his face, until he finally figured out it was a baby. I think he either thought that I was smuggling food out, or that I had a dog in there! LOL. It's definitely a conversation starter!
- Best Carrier I've Ever Used!
     By A373Q2YZVGVNT2 on 2007-01-10
I've tried a lot: fleece pouch (my 2nd favorite), Snuglies, Maya Wrap, OTBH ... The Moby Wrap is comfortable and flexible (you don't have to worry about size) It's not too heavy or bulky, no buckles, rings, snaps or straps. It's great!
- A great carrier
     By A1WUIBMXHXN6BQ on 2007-04-08
I received a different carrier and both me and my baby hated it. he couldn't see what was going on and it seemed to smother him and it hurt my back. I decided to purchase the Moby, and I am so happy with it. You can wear it a million different ways (well, not a million, but a lot) and it's so comfortable. It only took me twice to get the hang of how to put it on. My son loves it too. My shoulders or back never hurt after carrying him in it. I also love the book it comes with to show you the different ways in which to wear it. If you lose it, you can go to the manufacture's website, and you can download and print from there.
I've bought two more for my friends since I got mine.
- piece of you-know-what
     By A2TVJP1K1HDH4I on 2007-05-12
[...] I am certain of it --- because this wrap is crap. Seriously, it doesn't work. I've tried countless times to get my baby in a secure hold and it just isn't tight enough. Or, it's tight in some places, loose in others. Don't purchase this item. It is a waste of money and time. It looks great online (all those enticing pictures, rave reviews, etc.), but it is not what you're looking for. I bet tons of parents have returned this wrap but have been too busy to help out other parents. I know how challenging it is taking care of babies, which is why /this mom/ has taken the initiative not to waste /your/ time.
- K&K's MOM
     By A2V0GMGRET1NNM on 2007-07-26
One of the BEST baby items I ever purchased. My 2nd child hated the Bjorn or being restricted by anything. She absolutely LOVED the Moby b/c it allowed her to be held, yet still move around. Having chronic back pain, I wasn't sure how long I could hold her, but the MOBY is hands above any other carrier as far as comfort. I once had to hold her for 17 hours flying from one end of the country to the other (and being stranded at an airport for 9 hours!). She didn't care...played when awake, tucked in when asleep, nursed when hungry. Now that she's 17 months old she can ride on my back, although she still doesn't mind being in front if we're in a hurry.
If anyone is afraid that it looks complicated, I can honestly say IT'S EASY! Practice w/ a doll if you're worried, but don't let this scare you away! If you want to get yourself (or a gift for someone else) something that you'll use over and over, buy a MOBY.
- THE PERFECT CARRIER; would work for preemies
     By AK5669DSLDXAF on 2007-10-09
We just received our Moby wrap today and I am already raving about it! I was a little intimidated by the difficulty of use from reading other reviews, but really it couldn't be easier.
PROS:
* Most comfortable carrier by far! Even weight distribution makes you feel like you aren't even carrying baby!
* Stretchy fabric allows you to adjust for your baby's size and temperament (make it more cozy if she needs to be settled down).
* Despite other reviews, it is so easy to use! Sure you have to make some adjustments to see how your baby fits in it, but you have to do that with all products.
* Baby feels snug and secure and so close to you.
* It is small enough to carry around. Other reviews say it is cumbersome but I would think that the structured front carriers are much more so. This rolls up into a little matching carrying case less than a foot long and about 6 inches around. Like a tiny sleeping bag.
* Fairly easy to nurse discreetly. We already tried it, and although it was a little awkward, it was our first time in the Moby; I'm sure it will get easier.
* Have the option of extra support for baby's head by pulling fabric up. Other carriers I found her head would just bob around no matter how close I adjusted the straps.
* So many different ways to wear baby, you can change the style depending on baby's mood and as baby grows.
* I'm pretty sure her dad will use this. No promises, but the style would allow it.
* Can't beat the price!
* Looks great on mom. :)
CONS:
* Fabric is pretty heavy (it has to be to be so supportive) which makes baby warm. As other reviews state, this might be a problem in hot weather.
WHAT I WISH I KNEW BEFORE BUYING:
* I ordered the black one, which probably won't be a good idea in the summer. They have a natural color that is treated to provide UV protection, I might get that one.
* I wish I knew about this sooner! Ella was a preemie and I would have loved to have worn her around all day to keep her close to me, but I didn't think there were any carriers out there that would suit her tiny body. Although I didn't try this when she was tiny, I am pretty certain this would have been perfect. Worth trying for parents of preemies.
In summary, an excellent product if you can trust that something can be secure without all the rings and straps and belts found on other carriers.
It just feels right.
- Why couldn't I have found this before
     By A2SBR6P0Z07FGS on 2007-12-13
I wish I had found this with my other two kids. My current little one loves the thing, as do I. I could do without the stares from people trying to figure out what's wrong with my chest while in public, but my little one is worth it.
I've been using this since my baby was born, and plan on continuing until she's walking. It's comfortable for me and her. I walk and use public transit a lot and it's been so convenient, I don't know what I'd do without it. There are no uncomfortable straps or parts to chafe the baby. I was afraid I would have shoulder or back strain from it, like from the other carriers I've tried, but this one is wonderful, and I haven't had any problems. We've been using it five months, and the most frequent question I get asked is if she'll fall out. She hasn't yet, which is partially due to her being so close I can feel when she's working her way out, but mostly because it's versatile enough that I can change her position easily when she's more active. It's not the most comfortable thing for breastfeeding, because it does need to be kept snug, but in a pinch, we've managed.
It did take a bit to figure out wrapping it at first, but once you get the hang of it, it's simple. Her favorite thing is still to curl up in a ball and nap (which looks horribly uncomfortable to me, but she gets bent if I try straightening her out). This is by far the best investment I've made in any of her baby things, and has paid for itself a thousand times over. One suggestion, if you're having problems wrapping your child: make sure it's snug. Don't leave it loose some places thinking your baby needs room. Just stuff them in (for lack of a more eloquent description--and gently, of course), it will adjust once you both move around a bit.
- Moby Wrap
     By A74HSXQVI5ECL on 2007-01-11
Well, I don't have any children nor do I plan on changing that, however, I bought this Moby Wrap for my best friend for a baby shower gift and she was absolutely thrilled. She told me it's very ergonomically designed and comfortable for both mother and baby. She's been coveting one since the birth of her first child (she's pregnant with #2 now). She also told me that if you are creative there's all sorts of different ways you can wrap the dealy to attach your child to yourself, so that should be fun. The Moby wrap comes with a little packet detailing different adventures in child wrapping. I'm very happy I purchased this for a gift.
- Awsome way to carry your little one!
     By A3OVPZAP8IDC9K on 2007-04-11
This wrap is soo comfortable. I initially purchased an over the shoulder ring sling and found that no matter how I positioned my baby my neck and back would end up killing me afterward. Then someone at my mothers group introduced me to the Moby and I fell in love. No more aches and pains and my baby loves it. Whenever he is fussy and he sees me take it out, he calms down. It looks complicated to put on, but with a few practice runs you will soon become a pro. I just started carrying him facing out and he is really enjoying it. This carrier is a great investment since it works for all ages (newborn - toddler) and there are so many different ways to wrap it. There is even a wrap for nursing, and one for carrying twins! I cannot recommend this enough!
- Best baby carrier I've ever purchased
     By A2WRI5KXGQARIA on 2007-09-02
I've spent a lot of money on baby carriers over the years. With each one I'd hoped I had finally found "THE ONE". The carrier that would actually work as advertised and not hurt my back or shoulders. The carrier that would be versatile enough to use for my children both as newborns and as small toddlers. The Moby Wrap is that carrier. I wish I had this carrier when my oldest was a baby, instead of having it with may youngest and last. When my brother first saw this carrier he said, "Which 3rd world country did you get that from?". And he's right. A form of this carrier has been around for hundreds of years - and they work! Moby Wraps come in a variety of colors and are even available in silk for those dressier occasions when you don't want to have to carry your baby on your hip or push them around in a cumbersome stroller. I have worn my wrap just about everywhere, and you can carry a small child up to 35lbs without any problems. If your shoulders start to hurt, you simply need to adjust the fabric. I can't say enough about this wonderful wrap.
- Wonderful
     By A2LEAHCAD11OS0 on 2007-12-18
I love this product. I was looking for something other than a backpack because I think those are so impersonal. My baby boy has malformed intestines and is in constant pain. I hold him to comfort him, but now I just wrap him in this and he lays against my heart and calms down to my slow breathing. It's a lot better that a stroller because I can take him up stairs and everywhere I go. It's also a lot better than a sling because I'm not scared he's going to wiggle out of it or he was too small for it (being born premie size.) Unlike a backpack he's right against me and so calms down as if I'm carrying him with my arms. I have even carried my niece against my back with him on the front. And used the "twins" carry when I was watching my friend's baby boy. I wear it constantly when ever I am out with him, and sometimes while doing something at home as well. My friends have even asked me where I bought it and have all ordered one. Thank you for making this wonderful carrier.
- A Little Disappointing
     By A2HXS1WUB7HUJM on 2008-02-09
We were less than impressed with this product. While it's functional, it's not always the most practical carrier. If you're in public, trying to put on this EXTREMELY long piece of fabric is hard to manage and difficult to keep from dragging the ground. We wanted it for trips into the grocery store, etc. so we wouldn't have to use the car seat as our son's getting heavy and the car seat takes up a lot of room in the buggy. But to stand in the parking lot of a grocery store trying to manipulate this piece of fabric without letting it touch the ground is not easy. I guess we're just a couple of germophobes, but if something touches the ground in a parking lot, we not putting it next to our baby's face.
- I'm buying one for all my friends
     By A105LFG3MT4N23 on 2007-07-01
I had a snuggli carrier before this and I really liked it, until I tried the Moby wrap. This carrier is comfortable, reduced my back pain (my 4 month old is 20lbs!) and it folds up so I can toss it in my bag when I'm not using it. There is a slight learning curve to use it but I really didn't find it difficult at all, following the directions I got it right the first time. There are multiple holds so you can decide if you want to wrap your baby very snugly or just make a sling to easily pop your baby in and out of. Highly recommended!
- NOT a waste of money.
     By A1TCY3545MDG9Z on 2007-08-10
I was distressed to see the Moby wrap on someones "waste of money" list and I have to disagree. The wrap was worth every penny. I only wish that I had bought it sooner. I started using it when my son was 6 weeks and it saved my life (and sanity). On some days putting him facing me was the only way I could get him to sleep. It was the only way I could go shopping, out to eat, etc. It helped me so much the first 5 or 6 months. Even my husband used it (which is why we own a black one, masculine color). Babies just love to be close to their mommies!
- Have patience, learn it, it's the best one around
     By A37KX0QG3LX69O on 2008-08-03
I bought this baby carrier based exclusively on the reviews at Amazon.
It took some time to learn the wrapping (specially how tight it should be).
But if you have the patience, it will be the best baby carrier you'll ever use.
I also own an Infantino Euro Rider, and though it is easier and quicker to put on, is not nearly as comfortable as the Moby.
We can go for 2 hour hikes using the Moby, and the baby will be comfortable.
With the Infantino, we can only go for half and hour, and then the legs start to get red marks.
To be successful with the Moby though, you'll need some perseverance and different tries.
I used it a couple of times when my baby was 2 months old, he would cry the first 5 minutes, then get used to it and end up sleeping peacefully.
I still had only one hand free, because he hated the head tucking thing, so I had to support it often.
At 3 months, it was just not working at all.
I couldn't fit my baby in the carrier, he was screaming, just a mess.
I was about to give up, then came to Amazon and read all the good reviews again and thought, "I can't be the only one who can't make it work".
Then I tried the other positions, supposed to be for much older babies.
Guess what? It worked like magic.
My baby is tall, has really long legs, so only a couple of positions work for him. But they work really well!
And he wants to be forward facing, so he can see everything (he has good neck control, so that works fine).
I strongly recommend the Moby.
It's comfy for both the mom/dad and the baby, it's convenient, you almost don't feel it, it doesn't hurt your back, it spreads the weight evenly, it's great.
Buy a light color, because it gets hot.
And just be patient and try several positions.

THe moby wrap is simply the best baby carrier we've encountered. It does take a little getting used to with tying it up, but is so very worth it for comfort of parent and baby. Sometimes it's the only way to get our little guy to sleep. It also packs up very small! WE get them as gifts for all the new parents we know. My son is taking a nap in our moby right now as I'm typing...
- Wear your baby!

The Moby was a Godsend when my twins were born. It was a little confusing at first learning to tie it (that could have been from the lack of sleep, though). However, the instructions were very helpful, and the color step-by-step pictures helped a LOT!! I could "wear" both the girls in it up to their 8th week, and it was amazing how they would just cuddle together and fall asleep in it. I could vacuum, clean up, fold laundry, etc. while I was "wearing" them. They are 16 months old now, and my husband and I still "wear them" one at a time forward-facing. they love being close to us, and we love being able to carry them free-handed without buckles, clasps, etc. I never tried, though a friend told me it is also useful for discreet nursing.
- A must have for every parent

I have a baby who hates to be in seats, such as a bouncy seat or even a stroller, and especially the car seat, so trips to the store where I'd try to stick the car seat in the shopping cart like every other mom were a disaster. I found the moby wrap and started wrapping my baby on trips to the store, and she LOVED it. We use our wrap for walks, hikes, store trips... all the time, really! I also have a snugli baby carrier, but that would make us both too hot, and if she fell asleep in it, her face would end up resting on the hard plastic clips. The moby is also great, because if we're out and she falls asleep, my husband can wrap her onto my chest while she's still asleep, and then I can carry her around that way while she naps. The best part about this wrap is that she can see everything and be a part of it all, which I think helps her social development.
- Saved my back

I have 3 bad discs in my back so having to carry my 11 month old on my hip all day was causing me a lot of pain. Now I just place him in the moby when he's feeling clingy and I can vacuum, do laundry, shop, etc. He loves riding in it and I love that I'm not in pain.
