Fun for the kiddos and parents

This is a fun strategy game that my 7 year old picked out. My husband and I like it and our 4 year old is able to play it as well.
Basically, you set up warriors, weapons, walls, and flags. Then you shoot carrom-like pieces at each other's armies. There are specific rules that keep everyone in order and our games tend to last about 30-45 minutes.
The boys are learning about aiming, force, and angles. they have improved their game and like to play "teams" too.
I just wish that the game came with more extra elastic bands. I have rubber bands, but am looking for more of the 4" elastics.
1986 Game borught back

This game was made for the first time in the 80's and was called crossbows and catapults by Lakeside Games. I played this game for hours on end when I was a kid. The plastic parts are stonger and the knights and Orcs are better made (flexible platic) then the original game. I bought this from Wally World for the same price. Apparently it will be a hot game for the Xmas season as the Tower Expansion set was sold out. My 5-year-old son really enjoys playing this game with dad.

Like many others looking at this game I played it when I was a kid. It's was one of my favorites of all time. It's a very simple game to learn. Just setup your wall, castle, men and start shooting at your enemy. My five year old son loves it. It's the first game where he and I are on the same skill level. We have different ideas on how to setup our bases, his much prettier, but we always end in a very close game. We even got his mom to play a few games. She is now hooked. She told me she was a bit sad she don't have this game when she was a kid. And yes, it's educational. From hitting the wall at the right angle to the design of your base. There is a lot of planning and calculating. But all of it is totally fun.

This is a great game. It does require a large playing area. I ordered it with some of the accessory pieces.
catapults and crossbws

I have and 8 year old and a 5 year old. They have played this game twice since Christmas. They really seem to enjoy it. I don't like all of the pieces that you have to pick up and put away when you are finished. It is best to buy a plastic container with a lid to store the game pieces instead of putting them back in the box.
