Can't Stop Spinning By A3Q7CWIP76HV9R on 2007-09-04
My ten-month old loves this toy. It has kept her attention longer then any other toy she owns. It has three musical settings which are pretty engaging to her. On one setting, the spinning of the ball is directly linked to the music, (the previous reviewer was right about it being one of the least annoying muzak in toydom), so when it stops spinning- so does the song. So my baby girl stops whatever she has wandered away to do and goes back and spins it again. And again. And again.
Oh, bonus: it has volume control.
LeapFrog Spin and Sing Alphabet Zoo By A1DSU331053G86 on 2007-08-31
This toy plays a really cute song that is quite catchy, to me at least. I also own the Leap frog alphabet one. My daughter (8 months) enjoys both but I think this one is more age appropriate for her. As with any toy they are not just going to learn the alphabet or differnt animals without some input on your part. My daughter enjoys any tow that she can spinn, so this was a no brainer.
Pros: Lots of different animal noises, cute and not annoying song, multiple setting for more fun/ learning.
Cons: The ball does not detach like the other leap frog learning ball. It is not as well made either. The other one is made of a soft rubber and is durable and easy to clean. This one is plastic and has a large sticker that goes around it. I haven't had much problem cleaning it so far(3 months), but with drool and a wet cloth to wipe it down I'm not sure how long the sticker will hold up. Also I know it is hard to find all animals starting with the correct letter of the alphabet and put a good noise to it, but some of them are just out there. For instance Umbrella bird, not a bad choice, but then put a bird noise to it instead of the random off the wall noise that they did, who cares if there are more than one bird noise on it.
Overall a really cute toy just wish it was a little higher quality like the other one that they made.
So many toys made now that are just there! By A39DQZIEDGWUJT on 2007-12-28
This toy is cute in the box. But it got played with maybe once. It doesn't hold any of my kids attention, and I have four of all different ages. It was a gift for a birthday, not something I would have bought. I try very hard to buy toys that my kids will really interact with because with four kids you have lots of toys, many that never really get used. Leapfrog makes many great toys that are educational and fun, but you still have to pick and choose for your kids personalities. This might be fun for a young baby, but not for much older than that.
great toy! By A1VQ9NRDD7EXCY on 2007-08-10
My 9 months old daughter has a lot fun with the sounds of different animals.
Incredibly annoying By A3S6RYF9V2SHH6 on 2008-09-25
After purchasing this online, I realized that all musical toys should be heard first and never bought untested; the songs drove my husband and I nuts. We couldn't stand listening to the woman singing and finally we just hid it; I'm planning to take it to a neighborhood toy swap and be rid of it altogether. We also thought that the animal sounds were not convincing or recognizable. Of course, to each their own- we loved the Munchkin Mozart cube. I see lots of people like this toy, so it comes down to a personal (musical) preference.
- Fun Toy to Grow with

Fun toy for babies of all ages. My son started enjoying this at 3months and still likes it at 27months.
- Still going and going...

I originally bought this for my 6 month old son because it kept him engaged in the store while I shopped. Once we brought it home, I figured he would become bored with it. I am pleased to say he still plays with it - 4 months later.
There are three song features. One that plays the ABC song while the wheel is spinning. One that starts "Spin, spin a letter..." If the wheel stopped spinning on the letter B, the lady's voice says, "B","B", and then a bird chirps. The third features animals that start with each letter of the alphabet. If the wheel stops spinning on the letter C, the lady's voice says, "CAT","CAT" followed by a cat's meow. The tunes are quite catchy and not annoying. My husband and I find ourselves singing the tunes as well. There are two volume options. When the ball is not spinning, no music is beging played, which is a great feature and it teaches cause and effect.
We have decided that this toy is indestructable as well. We use it on his high chair at times to keep him entertained while feeding him. I can't tell you how many times he has pushed this off his high chair, and we were certain it would break. It hasn't broken yet. Have only had to change the batteries. It is also easy to clean. The sticker with the letters and animals is glossy, so it is easy to wipe. The rest of it is hard plastic.
I would definitely recommend this toy! :-)
- Awesome educational toy!
     By A2LVJI63GMU5XQ on 2007-12-15
I took my 12 week old daughter with me down the toy isle and let her "pick" out this toy. She fell in love with this. The black and white on the side spins when with the wheel and she just loves it. The flashing lights on top catch her attention, too. This is her FAVORITE toy!! We love the abc and animals too...but I warn you now...you will catch yourself singing the songs around the house.

My son has loved this spinner since he got it at about 3 months. He's now 6 months and doesn't get tired of it. It always distracts him from fussing and keeps him entertained. He loves to spin it on his own.

I bought this toy for my niece, she is 9 months, she just loves to spin the ball. It a good learning toy that she can grow into.
- Wonderful!!
     By A14NZCXNUIDNVA on 2008-01-14
My five month old received this toy for Christmas and loves it. I can put him in his highchair while I am preparing dinner and he will sit and play with it. It is not a toy that is easy to break either as he has knocked it off his highchair, onto the tile floor, on seveal occasions and other than scaring me to death it seems to be holding up just fine!
- Great toy
     By A1ZJE7DY0FAJ63 on 2008-01-18
I like this toy because it has a lot of settings and is very educational. It is easy to clean and so far it seems durable. I think the toy really does a lot for the price you pay. It teaches the alphabet, letter sounds, and animal sounds. Very impressed!
- Great but bad base
     By A2AQDE5SO4RW63 on 2008-01-30
This toy is great and fun with lights and music but the base is too small and keeps tipping over. My 6 month old will play with it until he's tipped it over and pushed it too far away to reach and then will cry out. I wish the base was bigger or heavier to make it stand up better.
- My sons love this!
     By A3XL1ZRLXVZM8 on 2008-02-29
My almost 3 year old and my 17 month old sons LOVE this toy. I bought this for my yougest for christmas. It is very sturdy.....my boys are not gentle with their toys ;) It has been played with and thrown around a lot and it still works perfect. I have had no issues with the base, I think its very secure, doesn't tip over while spinning, etc.
Really cute!
- Best Toy!
     By A3AZKRPSPF7H8M on 2008-05-23
This toy is great! My 7month old LOVES IT! He has been spinning away since he was about 4/5 months. The songs are actually pretty good as well. I find myself singing along happily. Keeps him happily entertained longer than any other toy.
A great "cause and effect" toy and great for working on sitting up skills.
I highly recommend this toy!
- Baby loves it
     By on 2008-05-27
We bought this for my daughter when she was about 6 months or so and she liked it from the beginning. She's now 10 months and still plays with - much more aggressively spinning than when she was smaller. Definitely one of the toys that has kept her interest for quite a while.
- My little girl loves it!
     By A14HB086KQI4B2 on 2008-06-02
My 6 month old received this as a gift when she was 3 months old. At 3 months, she wasn't quite at the level to play with it, but now at 6 months she can't stop playing with it. It spins and has a variety of songs that it'll sing. It's very cute, and definitely not annoying to us parents. My baby also imitates the animal sounds-very cute!
- great toy for 8 month old child
     By A37GDH0AR5NS0J on 2008-06-13
I bought this for my great granddaughter and she is 8 months old and loves playing with it spins so easy and she loves it.
- Son loves it!
     By A1S9MR2FGRDHP9 on 2008-07-01
My 9 month old loves this toy! He loves spinning things and the fact that it has music and animal sounds makes it that much more exciting for him! He likes the little flashing arrows, too. He looks so intense when he's spinning it, my husband and I say it's like he's on the Price is Right spinning the wheel to be on the Showcase Showdown! Great purchase and I would definitely recommend it!
- Fun Fun Fun
     By AHTNAAODLVM14 on 2008-07-13
My son has played with this since he was 4 months old; it never gets old. i keep it in the hallway, since he's an avid crawler at 6 months, it lets me know where he is when he crawls away. the price point is right on, the base is a sturdy rubber and I don't feel that it tips over easily like other reviews. there are 3 modes, though i think leapfrog should have done better with some of the animal sounds - i.e. a whale sounds like splashing water, maybe they should have chosen a different animal, but hey, it's a kids toy not animal planet. a great gift to give someone at the 3-4 month stage as it will grow with them. babies like to spin with their hands or their feet.
- Great product
     By A1ZSEERM9E52XI on 2008-07-14
This was a first birthday gift. He really likes it. It is vibrant, has fun sounds and music, and he can turn it on/off by himself. It is quite durable, seeing as how he likes to carry it around and has dropped it many, many times. If I am being picky...I would say that some of the animal sounds are a little strange, but what does an x-ray fish sound like? :)
Great product. We are big fans of LeapFrog toys.
- great toy

We bought this for our daughter when she was 6 months old. She liked it then and she still likes it almost 6 months later. Now it is entertaining for her, but I think it will become more educational for her as she gets older.
- This toy is fantastic
     By AK1WNXTHNCG5V on 2008-08-22
This toy is fantastic. I got this one for my grandson and he loved it. I had recently got one for my grandaughter and she was able to recite her abc's when she was 2 years old.

I got this for my son (1yo), it keeps his attention the most out of all his toys, he loves to spin it, and laugh at the sounds the animals make.
