Fun way to motivate kids and stay organized! By A63IZUEIUZKHD on 2007-06-03
I bought this for my 4 year old and after a few days, decided to also buy one for my 2 year old. They love them! They like working for "smilies" and make sure to do everything on their list to fill up their columns. I have also considered setting up an allowance or reward system if they get all 6 smilies for the day. My mom made a similar checklist for me when I was a kid, but this is so much easier to use and it looks a lot nicer hanging on the wall. I have been very pleased with all the Melissa & Doug products I have purchased, this is no exception!
Great teaching tool By A3POMQQK20XS0E on 2007-09-17
This chart is wonderful for introducing responsibilites to your kids. It serves as a visual reminder of what they've accomplished during the week, as well as what they need to work on. My kids feel a sense of accomplishment every time they get to put a magnet on a chore they've completed. Very durable, very well-made, and very colorful. I decided to go with this particular chart because of its aesthetic appeal, and because of the Melissa & Doug name. This is definitely another high quality product from this company.
Wonderful and Effective Tool to Teach Responsibility By A2FTUMB8SMF05G on 2008-01-14
We bought this item for our 5 year old son, who was starting to push back at us when we asked him to do things (like clean up his toys). This chart has 25 responsibilities - plus 2 blank magnets you can customize - and all potential tasks seem to be covered.
As soon as we started using this chart we noticed an improvement in our son's behavior. Our expectations no longer seem arbitrary to him. Instead he knows what we expect, and he looks forward to reviewing the chart at each day's end. When he has performed what is expected of him, he gets to place a smiley face magnet in the appropriate box.
We'll buy another one of these next year for our daughter.
Awesome! By AWQN5MKE12MQA on 2007-10-07
My three year old can't seem to do enough around the house with this thing hanging on the wall! The highlight to her day is placing the smiley faces next to the responsiblities she has completed each day. If she didn't complete a responsibility, however, no smiley face. Let's say it is a rare day she doesn't earn a smiley face. It has greatly helped her to take her responsibilities seriously and with great pride. The sense of accomplishment she receives at the end of the day is all over her face and is absolutely priceless. In addition to teaching her to pick up her toys, there are other "responsiblities" such as, keeping hands to self, brushing teeth, setting table, saying please and thank you, apologizing to someone, and many more. We change them up about once a week to keep her interested. I would recommend this product to anyone with a preschooler or young gradeschooler!
great tool By A36RN0UE6TSTD on 2007-11-17
This has been a great tool for my 4 year old, not only for doing chores, but for learning to automatically do things like show respect and say please and thank you. I highly recommend this.
- Great product!
     By A2K757UXF15YNJ on 2008-07-29
This was a great purchase. I bought it for my 5-year old but ended up buying another for my 3-year old because she wanted her own. Every night at bed time we go down the list of "responsibilities" we've assiged each and decide who gets a magnet for each. There are plenty of great pre-printed responsibilities for all ages -- the 3-year old has "no whining", "brush teeth", "pick up toys", "take a bath." Older kids can have "help with outdoor chores" or "load the dishwasher". There's also two blank write-in ones (we wrote "eat well" because my kids are such bad eaters). It's made doing "chores" much easier and I hate to admit it, but when they don't comply I can threaten with "you're not going to get a magnet..." which always brings them around.
- Supernanny to the rescue!!
     By A1YNKJOE68UL9Z on 2008-07-05
My three youngest kids are a 7 yr old boy and 5 yr old twin girls and this responsibility chart is almost as good as having supernanny come in my house and "fix" us. The kids love it! I give them a little reward everyday they complete their daily tasks like an extra dessert or treat of some kind, at the end of the week they get to pick out a new toy from the "treasure chest" if they complete all their responsibilities. The kids school have similar things they use, so it helps keeping everything familiar be it at school or at home. There are so many different responsibilities to pick from on this chart it's easy to use "age appropriate" ones for different age kids, or to keep using it as they get older. Next on my list is the calendar!
- Great incentive and respnosibility chart
     By A2DWN5KCT6W8DY on 2008-10-11
Me and my daughter love this chart, it has so many options to pick from and you can write in your own with the blank ones they give you. Its very easy to use and she loves it.
- Great for Toddlers!
     By ADGTLAG5K82Q0 on 2008-11-09
My daughter has always been a very good girl and we don't have to nag her to pick up, be nice, etc. But she has always wanted to "help" do things. Now she has her very own chore/to do list and she gets a big kick out of filling up the board with smiles! We can switch up the list or keep it the same depending on if she gets tired of the routine. So far things have stayed put, she's got smiles across the board and I've found MY chore list is shrinking! Woooohoooo! :)
- Chore chart
     By A64B1SZWMMYVO on 2008-11-22
We use this as a chore chart and to line up school work. We bought one in a store on vacation and had to have another for our youngest daughter. They have fun moving the pieces and know what their chores are ahead of time. A great product that kids can relate to!
- Works
     By A3LAQ3XR5HFKR8 on 2007-12-02
It requires a little work on the parents part, but so far my three year old has responded well to this chart. Very helpful with getting chores done around the house.
- Great Chart

My son loves this chart. So far it has been working great. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.
- Great at teaching resposibility
     By A39ECX123A3ZVH on 2008-04-04
I bought this product for my 4 year old son. We have had it for about 4 weeks now. It is perfect for his age. It teaches him that he is responsible for his own behavior and the chart has already resulted in him saying "sorry" when he has done something wrong which he has never done without being prompted. I am excited to see if we can accomplish some of the other tasks in his list like "No teasing" and "No whining". He got a smiley on No teasing for the first time today and I loaded on the praise. The chart has also been good for me since I have to be more aware of rewarding the positive behavior instead of always correcting the negative behavior!
- We Are All Happy
     By A1M36Q4ZVNMXYY on 2008-04-20
My six year-old now looks forward to doing his daily duties and takes pride at seeing what he has accomplished at the end of the day. My wife and I are happy not to have to hound him to do these chores anymore. Great product.
- Great educational tool

I'm trying to get my five-year-old prepared for starting Kindergarten and learning responsibility. This does the trick!
- the perfect solution
     By AL33TL45Y2PCA on 2008-05-27
My kids look forward to doing their charts at the end of the day. They can select which jobs they want to focus on for the upcoming week. They decide how well they performed their jobs and then receive their allowance accordingly! The charts are colorful, flexible, and fun for the kids to use. This beats pencil and paper, or wipe off charts that we had been using.
- Reward Chart is Awesome
     By A1T0LD3RSLVPVC on 2008-08-31
This product is great - I've been looking for ways to do a reward chart for younger children who aren't at the reading age yet - and this one is wonderful. It has the words, but also a picture to go with it and it's easy to use and has many different options plus a few to make up your own to fit to your household needs. Furthermore, after buying this product I have seen a similiar one on a nanny show - I highly reccommend it to anyone.
- Responsibility Chart
     By A25X2FF7HHLQSF on 2008-09-04
My four year old granddaughter is learning to tidy up after herself. Mother and daughter both fill the board once tasks are accomplished. It helps to give my granddaughter a pat-on-the-back each time she does well which provides positive reinforcement. Great item... and for obvious reasons my daughter is very pleased to be using it with her daughter!
- Best I have seen
     By ATZZQCN17PTW on 2008-09-25
This is a great reward chart, I wish there where different ratings on the acheivement tags and a better way to hang it on the wall but it works and the kids love using it.
- Great tool for helping young kids learn responsibility!
     By A1QTYPUGDSW1J1 on 2008-10-18
I purchased two of these for my 4 year old twins. I love that it comes with a variety of responsibility magnets that you can change out, based on your child's needs and age. It even comes with blank magnets so that you can write in what you want. More than anything, the chart has helped to clearly define expectations for our kids. They know what we expect them to do, and all we have to do is remind them. Since we've implemented the chart, my twins have been sharing more, hitting less, and picking up toys without the usual battles. They'll even say, "Mommy, I shared my car/doll!"
My kids have been very enthusiastic about sitting down each night and going over their chart. We've also added an extra reward--if they get all their happy faces for the day, they get a quarter for their piggy banks. Since they love putting money in their banks, this works great for us.
This is by far one of my best purchases! Next, I am planning to get the calendar to reinforce the days of the week/months, etc. with my twins before they start school.
