Good "Starter" House By A1U9EX5JY2P5IH on 2008-03-08
My daughter loves this house. She has had it for several months and still plays with it every day. It is, by far, her favorite toy. It's strong and sturdy, is easily moved, and it doesn't take up much space at all.
I do have a few minor problems with it though:
First of all, we bought all of the furniture accessories that go with the house, some of which was kind of cheesey to sell separately. I mean, the house doesn't come with a bed or a crib for the baby. But whatever, we knew that going in, so we shelled out for the extra furniture. However, as one other reviewer mentioned, the extra pieces don't really all fit in the house too well. That was really disappointing. If the house was just a centimeter wider, I think the extra furniture would work a lot better.
Secondly, the furniture is kind of straight and slippery, so the dolls fall off the kitchen and rocking chairs a little too easily. Not a big deal, but it can be frustrating for a two-year-old. This could probably be fixed if the seats were a little longer, or perhaps angled at something less than ninety degrees.
Finally, as this toy is marketed to younger children, I feel the need to mention that the paint comes off the dolls pretty easily. If your child still tends to put things in her mouth, as mine does, you might want to consider that when you make your purchase.
great first dollhouse By A1W3M4PL5VUSHN on 2007-09-09
my daughter LOVES this dollhouse. Its for C-mas, but I got it out to make sure everything was there. Well, my 17 mo old saw it and LOVED it, even when it was not all put together. When I tried to box it up, she threw a fit. The people are just the right size for chubby toddler hands. The chairs are a little hard for a toddler to get one of the people to sit in them. There are also a few sounds, but not so many that it discourages imagination. It seems very durable. I know there are a few extra "rooms" you can get to add furniture (recommended because this house comes with very little), but the house is not too big, so not sure how all the available accessories will fit, but I am sure they will.
Now I can't wait for C-mas so I can get it back out and we can play house!
Mom of 2 girls By A3RINRKKWD996Z on 2008-01-12
The retailer needs to revise the description of this product! Take note, the doorbell and phone DO NOT MAKE SOUNDS!!!! Therefore, the toy DOES NOT take batteries.
This house is very durable and my 2 year old daughter was thrilled when she received it for her birthday. She played with it for about an hour but then lost interest. There isn't a lot of furniture that comes with the house and I think that may be why she lost interest. I know you can buy additional accessories but found them to be an expensive addition. I may have to though to get her interested in the toy again.
My biggest disappointed was in discovering that the doorbell and phone DO NOT WORK and the toy DOES NOT make any sounds. I found the retailer's description very misgiving and probably would not have added this to my daughter's birthday wish list if I had known this as I thought the sounds were a really "cool" feature. I would also have likely given this product 4-5 stars if the doorbell and phone did make sounds.
Good choice By A3PAEZH5OOKLNI on 2007-11-02
I researched many doll houses for my 2 year old, and chose this one for price and durability. The people are "chunky" enough for her to hold because she's not dainty about moving them. At first I thought it funny that it came with a toilet, but she likes to put the little girl on the potty (potty training...makes sense). She really enjoys pretending with this set. We also bought three of the add-ons. I'd recommend only getting one though, because the doll house can't fit all the furniture at the same time. Also, there isn't a brother doll, which we'd like to see. I found out her day care has the same set. That shows it can take a lot of use. Overall, good value.
My daughter loves it!! By A3ZXXBOKIAQP on 2007-10-14
I bought this for my 2 year old daughter and we love it. My baby is rough on toys and this house can take her abuse.
This is a great first dollhouse.

I bought this dollhouse for my niece's 2nd birthday. She LOVES it. A total hit. It's a pretty cool toy that can hold a toddler's attention for a few minutes ... and this one she played with all day after receiving it. Her mom can't believe it.
I looked around for quite a while trying to decide on the best dollhouse for the age group, and for the money this is by far the best I found.
- Entertaining, language building...great purchase!
     By A14DBZNORVPO6P on 2007-11-27
I gave this dollhouse to my niece for her 2nd birthday. She has had the best time with "her house". I love our play time together with the house and it has really helped strengthen her language skills. She imitates what she sees others doing in the house and is able to talk about it so much quicker by reinforcing her language through play. She's even teaching the baby to use the potty! It's light enough so that she can carry it anywhere she wants, but sturdy enough so if she drops it, it doesn't break. The pieces are also a perfect fit for small hands.
The only drawbacks I see are that 1) you have to pay for the furniture individually, which makes it rather expensive and 2) there isn't room for everything (I wanted to get her the sister's room, but it won't fit).
- Love it!!!

My daughter received this doll house for her 2nd bday and she love to play with it. Keeps her busy for quite a while - and that's very helpful to mommy!! Great for learning hot to pretend play. I suggest purchasing some of the rooms furniture when you buy the house, otherwise it will be fairly empty.
- all furniture does not fit
     By AU4KCONXUJPUF on 2007-12-25
this dollhouse was bought for a 1 1/2 year old. She really likes to play with it, but I was disappointed that all of the furniture does not fit in the house. We bought all available furniture, baby' room, sister's room, mom and dad room, living room, and grandma and stroller. There are only 2 bedrooms and furniture for 3 bedrooms. Also there is a table and chairs for the kitchen along with living room furniture. Both rooms of furniture do not fit in the bottom of the house comfortably.
- Great first doll house but...

I purchased this doll house for my 2 year old daughter. It's a great size, doesn't take up to much room, she loves playing with it. My disappointment is when I was purchasing this house the description stated that it made sounds (door bell, phone ringing), it does not. That doesn't bother her though. I do wish they made more people for it, like a brother and grandpa. A car or van would be a nice addition as well.
- good starter house
     By A1Z6X06FSZG06 on 2008-07-04
I purchased this for my daughter when she was 20 months old. The sound features (doorbell and phone) never worked. I agree that the paint comes off of the dolls too easily from normal play. My daughter never put them in her mouth, and the paint has scratched right off most of the dolls. I have to say that at first this was her favorite toy, but we purchased the extra sets from Fisher Price for added play value. She played with this hard for about 5 months, but now she has discovered the larger version with added detail which she wants for Christmas. I almost wish I would have just waited and bought her the 3 and up one instead. While I think this is a good dollhouse for introducing the concept of dollhouse play, it didn't hold her attention as long as I would have liked and now is rarely played with months later. My advice is to wait and buy the larger Grand Dollhouse which is probably fine for a two and a half year old even though the box says 3.
- The hit of our daughter's second birthday ... great dollhouse!
     By AZM5AKLRCPOJX on 2008-07-15
I honestly wasn't sure our daughter was ready for a dollhouse at age 2, but put it on her birthday list because it looked fun. Wow, this gift was the hit of her birthday! She plays with it all the time. The pieces are nice and sturdy, able to stand up to a two-year-old. I love the fact that it's a quiet toy and that it's all up to our daughter's imagination. She has the best time making the parents walk around the house and putting the baby on the potty, creating her own stories as she plays (mimicking a lot of what we say). Very cute! We're all getting a lot of enjoyment out of this toy.
We bought a couple of the additional rooms, which was a wise investment. It allows for more creative play with the house and they're not that expensive.
The surprising benefit to this dollhouse is that our five-year-old son likes it, too! We were floored when he started fighting with his sister over it, because he's such a boy boy (only into trucks, action figures, things that crash, etc.). He loves moving things around in the house and is happy when his sister naps because he can run his action figures all around the structure.
Highly recommend this dollhouse!
- Good dollhouse for young toddlers
     By A3S0QSOOG782F0 on 2007-12-31
We bought this for our 21 month old and she has loved it. It's great as her first dollhouse. It comes with a decent amount of furniture but we'll maybe buy one or two of the additional sets. The chairs could be better (the people often fall out) but otherwise I have no complaints. It's not too large and it's easy to move from room to room. Well worth it for young toddlers!
- Great dollhouse
     By A2MJ4OBC0L5PBB on 2008-05-20
My daughter got this for her 2nd birthday and - no exaggeration - played with it for 6 hours the first day. She has never played with one thing for so long. Her first words the next morning were "Play with dollhouse!" She has played with it every day since. Within the first week, her sentence structure was becoming more robust just from making up stories for the dolls. This is a great first dollhouse. My only complaint is that the dolls have a hard time sitting in the dining room chairs, which is frustrating for my daughter. I added rug grippers to the seats and that helps a bit. The pieces are very durable, although the paint does chip off the dolls if they're rubbed excessively on stuff, so don't let babies chew on them.
I bought the grandma, sister and baby room accessory packs, and that added just the right amount of furniture and figures.
- great for over 2
     By A1LCO3C4LIJANB on 2008-06-19
i have this to my daughter when she was 18 months. There where too many little parts that got scattered all over the house. I would recommended this toy for 3 and up, unless your kid is good at keeping little plastic things all in one spot.
- Great Toy
     By A1ODJVG0F3ARYU on 2008-07-30
I like this toy because it is simple, has few bells and whistles, and is very durable. It's a good size and there's easy access to the rooms. My daughter loves it.
- Playroom staple!
     By A3TKGVHM8Y7T0S on 2008-09-05
I bought this toy when my daughter was about 12 months old and at almost 3 1/2 it is still played with often. Such a basic, imaginative toy--even my 5 and 7 year old nephews play with it! My daughter also loves the Little People and they fit in/go with this house perfectly. Some say the furniture doesn't fit in the house well: first, kids don't play with it "perfectly!" Some rooms are on the floor, some outside the house, etc. Having lots of furniture makes it great for keeping the house fresh by changing it out often. Great toy, well priced!

Our two-year-old granddaughter loves to put all her animals in this and say they are taking a nap. Family and furniture are good size for her to manipulate and sturdy enough for rough treatment. Like that I can add units to vary her play.
- Great first dollhouse!!

My 2 yr old daughter just got this for her birthday! She has been playing with it nonstop along with her 6 yr old brother who likes it too. Most toys don't hold her attention for very long, so I would have to say it is the best purchase I have made in a while. Love it!! I will be buying more rooms of furniture for Christmas.
- Very good doll house for babies
     By A19YCOKGS71H32 on 2007-10-30
This doll house is perfect for my 1 year baby, who have loved it from first time she saw it. It have few accesories, but enough for good baby play moments. Seems very durable, exactly what I expect from Fisher-Price, cero dissapointments.
Maybe it should come with more accesories, but for the price the whole package is perfect.
- My daughter loves this
     By A3CG4N3WC8J6D4 on 2008-01-06
We don't have much space so this little doll house has been perfect. I often find my daughter (3 years old) playing happily in her room by herself - but I have also caught her older brothers playing with her (7 and 5). We didn't order any extra peices and there is enough for her to have fun with - and for me not to have to be hunting down too much when they seem to leave the house. Great product.
- Great for small children!
     By AH83O69MCDR7Q on 2008-01-14
My two year old daughter received this as a Christmas gift from her grandma. She LOVES it. The pieces are the perfect size. Be sure to purchase the extra rooms/furniture. You will be able to get it at a better price on Fisher Price's website or get it dirctly from a retailer!!!!!! (I saw it at WalMart shortly before Christmas)

     By A3TWFLEGJ0M7XX on 2008-02-03
I bought this in January 2007 for my daughter, and a year later she still loves it and plays with daily. I like it because it's not so big that it gets in the way (we have a small place), so we can actually keep it out most of the time. I put it away when I was putting up Christmas decorations, and my daughter missed it so much, I had to bring it back out! The sounds DO work on this house. And I totally recommend buying some of the extra sets. We have the living room and parent's bedroom. I do wish I could just buy extra family members on their own (there's no grandpa or brother!!)
- Perfect for little ones
     By A3G606HBXBFS3F on 2008-02-12
My seventeen month old daughter opened this toy this morning and has been playing with it all day! She can easily play with all people and funiture. We were unable to get this over Christmas (it was sold out everywhere) but was well worth the wait. I would suggest buying more funiture (I bought all the rooms) as it just comes with a few pieces. It is an adorable toy and a nice step up from Fisher Price Little People.
- Fun dollhouse
     By A1QUBCHR1EYXGF on 2008-03-21
We purchased this dollhouse for our daughter when she was 1 1/2yrs old and she loves it. It is great for imaginative play, however it only comes with a few household pieces and you have to purchase the rest seperately. It could initially come with a few more rooms.
- Great First Dollhouse!
     By AT7SWU1FEDQWM on 2008-03-25
Perfect for my 18-mon old. It is very easy to put it together, only 4 pieces(balcony, front step, back yard, and roof) needed to be attached to the main house, then you are done!! Got it at the W-Mart website, very good deal. The figures are pretty cute, and they can be placed in sitting position in the chairs. Love the little toilet, great for potty training. Yes, the figures can be placed sitting upright on the toilet. So, I rotate all the little figures to potty frequently, it doesn't take long b4 my little girl started to place everyone, including the figure that represents herself on the toilet as well. Just added few extra pieces of furniture from the FP My First Dollhouse line purchased at the local toy store.
BUT--there is no working door bell. There is a doorbell yet it doesn't ring, I kinda of hope it has this feature, but it doesn't.

I wish I would bought this for my 4 years old a long time ago. My daughter loves it. We bought additional furniture at Wal-Mart. She uses all of her dolls for this dollhouse. My 6 month old will have a great dollhouse waiting for her. Easy to assemble, very durable. The educational value is that it teaches and encourages pretend play, helps stimulate her creative side.
- So cute.

This is made very good. I got it for my new granddaughter who is due any day now. I am giving it to her for christmas. I really love it. The price is right. I compared the ones elsewhere.
