• Cheaper isn't better

  So I needed some HD cables for my Wii. And being analong outputs (not digital) I needed something shielded to get the cleanest image.
  At first I tried a brand that was a fraction of the price. They worked fine, but with the money I saved, it just felt wrong. I didn't know what to do with the $50, so I just rolled it around the cables likes insulation or shielding. That really hampered the flexibility of the cables and I think it caused more interference.
  So then I returned the cables to the store and used that money to buy these. Now my Wii looks exactly the same as if I had used the other cables, but I don't have to worry about what to do with that extra cash.
  
  

• Ridiculously Overpriced

  There's simply no reason to pay such high prices for a cable that doesn't work any better. There is no difference between the picture quality that you get from these cables compared to that of other third party component cables that can be purchased for around $15 to $20. Even Nintendo's official component cables are cheaper than these.
  
  That having been said, component cables do provide a significant improvement in appearance. Color and sharpness are improved, and it allows for progressive scan (if your television supports it). I highly recommend buying a set of component cables, especially for an EDTV or HDTV, but I do not recommend these specific cables.
  
  

• Component is the best, Monster is the "best", is this cable any good?

  I've never really done a review for Amazon. I've read enough of them to they are an important part of the decision making process. These cables were overnighted to me the first moment I saw them for sale period, and Amazon had them before any of the local stores did. Go figure why it says an April 3rd release date. I bought the Nintendo brand component cables when the system launched, but sold them when I couldn't find me a Wii, so I can't compare this product with them. Because the Nintendo brand wasn't even available in stores loads of "knock-offs" were rushed out to meet demand, some I was told were Monster Brand when I asked (cough GameStop).
  
  On to a review. They are great. You can see more detail in the main menu and in the games I've tried, not really more necessary detail (but that which helps submerge you further into the experience). I've also noticed less eye fatigue when using the Internet browser and reading text for periods of time. And honestly, they are the most expensive cables you can buy, twice the price of the Nintendo, and again probably only twice as much as the knock-offs. Hard to say $60 is a value, but relatively speaking they are a great addition and much more valuable than a wireless sensor bar. So go ahead and pick up a set because they really unlock the full potential of the Nintendo Wii.
  
  I thought about adding one last thing for now. The pictures of the prototype showed a small box that the cables come out of after running through the length of the cord. That feature has not changed, but it is like 9 inches from the tips that plug into the tv.
  
  I can't believe I didn't read the box. On the right side under the performance guide and I quote, "Monster GameLink is ready for future enhancements in Wii video performance and supports HD video up to 720p/1080i." And, in smaller print under that, "*Dependent upon hardware configurations and setting. Nintendo Wii current max video resolution output is 480p." Aww yea.

• Monster chews-up and spits-out all other component cables

  Monster Wii cables make a huge difference by improving the audio quality.
  
  Initially had bought React component cables since they seemed to be better built than the Nintendo brand (Monster Wii cables weren't available yet). And the sound from the React was terrible! Very shrill--Like having the treble pumped all the way up and the bass turned all the way down. The theme music from Sonic was really beginning to grate...
  
  Then I decided to buy the Monster cables since I knew the improvements they could provide with the Game Cube and X-Box. For the Wii, the Monster cables deliver a very clean and balanced sound--which was what I was hoping for the most.
  The image also seems "deeper"--for whatever that's worth, perhaps I will notice it more on newer games as developers refine their techniques.

• You definitely get what you pay for! Way better than the first party cables

  I just bought these cables for my Wii and man, it makes a GREAT difference! I recently had the first party Nintendo component cables, but when I found out about these, I had to get them. I sold, that's right sold, my first party cables to get the Monster ones and there IS A BIG DIFFERENCE in performance! My brother and I immediately noticed the difference in performance. We thought the first party cables were good until I put these babies on, and it's like night and day.
  
  Not only are the cables thicker, when you install them, you can feel them getting a good connection as they aren't too easily removed or installed. Also, the Monster cable is longer that the first party one, letting you have some flexibility on where you can put the Wii. Even GameCube games with Progressive Scan compatibilty look beautiful when playing on the Wii. I also recommend getting your TV adjusted using the THX optimizer (w/the THX Blue glasses if you can) on any THX Certified DVD to bring out the picture in any TV. You will not be dissapointed!
  
  
• Monster never fails.

  First of all, this is the first component cable I've used for my Wii so I cannot compare Monster to the cheaper cables out there. However, I've read a lot of reviews regarding video defects with cheaper cables because the shielding and quality are not up to par (if the cables are shielded at all). It all comes down to, "you get what you pay for."
  
  I went straight to Monster because of the quality of the product. Are there $30 or $20 cables out there that perform just as well? I'm sure that you can find a product that comes close, but I didn't want to experiment just to save a few bucks.
  
  I have a 46 inch LCD TV. The bigger the screen, the more obvious the defects will be. I LOVE the quality of the picture that the Monster cables deliver. It is noticeably better than the composite cable, and I would bet that Monster is better than almost all the other component options out there.
  
  If you are looking to save a few bucks, then keep shopping. If you are financially able to drop the dough, and you don't care about costs, spend the extra $10 to $20 and buy Monster cables. You'll never be disappointed.

  The cable provides secure connections and appears to perform as advertised. Subjective comment; it does not appear to be up to the same quality standards as other Monster cable I own. The cable itself and the connectors do not have the same heavy duty quality feel as Monster's A/V cables I own. Other than that, I have no complaints.
  
  
• Much worth it

  I had to write a review on this product because i myself was very skeptical when i bought these cables. One because i have bought things from Amazon, that had great customer reviews and then i found that the product was in fact, not so great.
  
  I have a 50 inch Samsung 1080p plasma, and they do make a huge difference. I first tried it out on "Smash Brothers Brawl" and right away when i started playing the characters looked way more detailed. Granted still not in HD. Still, I was running these games on the standard composite cables that come with the system. I'm not sure if the actual "Monster" cables make a difference to due the fact that i have no other cables to compare to, but i can tell you that these cables will with out a doubt make your wii games much much more clear. The end.

  Lets face it, why spend good money on equipment just to link it with a bunch of cheap junky cables. At this price you cant afford NOT to use the best. Many people say Monster is over rated but I believe they couldnt tell the difference between a maserati and a pinto. Just buy em and be happy just like me.
  
  
• A Must Have for HDTV owners

  Though it only jumps from 480i to 480p, this makes a big difference in game clarity. I love sports games for the Wii and Tiger Woods 09 as well as NCAA Football 09 are much clearer with this cable. Also, I ordered this item on a Monday morning and had received it by Tuesday with standard shipping. I was very impressed and satisfied. I would highly recommend seller!

  doode! monster cables are the best cables on the planet! i use monster cables for pretty much everything! i use them for my PS3 and 1080P HDTV hookup and my wii is also hooked up to the same TV. yea monster cables are very expensive but with some things in life you get what you pay for!!!!!!! well worth the money, i don't trust any other brand of cables than monster!!
