Hasbro Electronic Hyper Slidex$15.94
    (35 reviews)
Best Price: $24.99 $15.94
Be quick as you flick, slide or shoot the different-colored hyper discs under the arch. As the game unit calls out the sequence of colors for you to pass, the game "knows" if you've passed the right disc or not. Pass 'em fast before the buzzer blasts! Obey the voice commands, get your brain in the game and break the code, or guess which color will be called next. Play with a friend or practice solo. Tabletop slide-and-pass excitement features electronic lights and sounds, plus an announcer's voice that talks you through three fast-sliding game modes. Electronic game unit comes with four Hyper Discs, each a different color; plus Hyper Band and instructions. Requires 3 "AA" batteries (not included). For 1 or 2 players.
Be quick, pick the right colored hyper disc, and flick it under the arch before time runs out. The Hyper Slide from Hasbro packs three fast-paced electronic table-top games into one compact unit. Recommended for ages eight and up, these fast-sliding games for one or two players are fun and exciting for kids and adults.
The hyper discs can be conveniently stored in a compartment on the side of the arch. View larger. |
Three fast-paced electronic table-top games in one stylish unit. View larger. | Fun, Futuristic Table Top Game With its sleek, arched design, Hyper Slide looks like a futuristic game. Resembling a hockey game for a table top, the object is to flip the pucks through the goal. However, in these games the goal can be scored from both sides of the arch, and there are four different-colored pucks, called hyper discs. The game's electronic unit calls out a color, and you must pick that color and sent it through the arc. It automatically detects whether you've passed the right disc or not. When not in operation, the hyper discs can be conveniently stored in a compartment on the side of the arch. Three Games for Solo Play or Two-Person Play The Hyper Slide offers a few variations of play for your enjoyment. Two lighted buttons on the top of the Hyper Slide make it easy to choose which of the three games you want to play. While the objects of the games are simple, playing them can be a fun challenge. The first game, "Fast Pass," is all about speed. The game commands a color and you've got to pass it through the goal quickly before the buzzer blasts. With "Add One," you've got to remember the order of colors. You start with a color and add one to the sequence each time you complete a round. "Code Buster" gives you 90 seconds to decipher the secret series of colors. Best of all, you can play all these games with a friend or by yourself. With both "Fast Pass" and "Add One," you can even play head-to-head with another player or team. For solo play, the rubber "hyper band" is attached under the arch, bouncing the discs back to your side. Put to the Test Playing on any smooth, nonmetal surface, you'll be surprised how much fun the Hyper Slide really is. An announcer's voice, high-energy music, and sound effects move these games along. With your head in the game, you'll soon block out all the noise and only hear the color to flick, slide, or shoot through the arch. Unfortunately, if the constant voice directions are not your thing, the game can't be played without these sounds, nor can the volume be adjusted. On the plus side, the Hyper Slide announces your score at the end of each competition and keeps track of the highest score for each game. This electronic system runs on three "AAA" batteries (sold separately). If the Hyper Slide goes unused for two minutes, this smartly designed toy "goes to sleep," saving battery life until the player buttons are pressed. Pros - 3 fast-paced games for 2-person and solo play
- Lighted buttons make it easy to switch through games
- Games remember high scores
- Electronic game shuts off on its own
Cons - Game must be played with announcer and music going
- Volume can't be controlled
What's in the Box Hyper Slide electronic game, hyper band, and 4 hyper discs.

Great gift! By A2BDM9NWLCN1LA on 2007-11-15
The Hyper Slide turned out to be so much fun! It is fast paced and challenging. I love it because even though there is a two year age difference, my boys play together all the time. Even their little sister has gotten into playing and loves the one player option. She is only four and is improving daily at the add one game. It helps her with her memorization which is cool. It doesn't require much room, just a smooth table. Also, easy to put away with a compartment for all of the peices. Definately a perfect toy for the whole family.
Simple but incredibly addicting! By A1QPF5HLTBJ8PJ on 2007-11-22
We have now purchased 4 of these games as gifts, after seeing one at a demo last summer and buying it for ourselves. It is great fun for the whole family, and you can play 1 on 1 or by yourself. I'm not much of a "gamer" but this one is great!
Buy it elsewhere By A3HUC8541SJ6UT on 2007-12-12
Wow am I ever disappointed in amazon. They were selling this for under $20 ten days ago. Now it's $58? I just went and picked it up at Target for $18... and they had plenty of 'em.
I will never again buy from amazon without shopping around. This degree of markup is disgusting.
Way overpriced on amazon By A2K2HXNUA4CD0V on 2007-12-10
This is a great product and very entertaining, but the price on amazon is ridiculous. This product is about 20.00 at Walmart.
Snowed in, heater out, the kids still loved this, didn't notice the cold By A1ER5AYS3FQ9O3 on 2008-01-05
Although the age range for this one is noted as being for ages eight and up, I can personally testify to the fact that teens also find the Hyper Slide to be fun and challenging.
It comes equipped with five games and my son and a group of his friends spent hours in our living room, the only room with a roaring fire and some warmth, playing this game. They were laughing and cheering each other on in their attempt to slide the various colors of "pucks" or little chips under the arch of hyper slide - as soon as the recorded voice of the "game leader" told them which colored chip to select.
What is particularly clever about the Hyper Slide is its single player option. To use it for solo players, you simply take a rubber strip and insert it into the appropriate parts of the arch, converting it instantly from a 2 person game to one for an individual player. Very smart!
THere are five games of varying difficulty. The most challenging for our family was the one where a pattern of colors would be noted (red, yellow, yellow would be one example) and then an ADDITIONAL color would be added to that pattern so that the player would have to remember an increasing number of chips to slide through the arch, all in a given time limit. Try it and see how hard it can be.
Because of the different levels of difficulty, I have to rate this one high. It held our teen's attention - and those of his friends - for most of a day and has continued to be popular.
- THEY CAN'T STOP PLAYING !!!
     By A3CQRSKSY61YTO on 2007-12-03
I bought this almost two weeks ago and we haven't stopped playing it! My husband is even playing it with the kids, he hasn't done this in years. Fantastic!
- Great Toy/Gift
     By A221RH0P4UQTMN on 2007-12-08
This little toy is great, the kids (8 and up) love playing with it. Within 5 minutes of opening the toy they were able to play with it. Very simple rules allows them to jump right in. The toy looks well made and has a convenient space to store the discs when not in use. Its also a fun game for an adult to play with their kids. You can make the game as challenging or as easy as you want by varying the distance from which the discs are thrown.
Great toy!!
- great action toy and well made
     By A3OH1HJ8FUS8WK on 2008-01-07
I got this for my 9 year old son, and he loves it. The whole family enjoys playing it. I like getting toys for my son that he actually has to do something with it, not just look at or watch. This is well made, and the disks store inside the game so they don't get lost. The game reminds me of Simon, the old game where it calls out colors and you have to touch that color and it gets faster until you mess up. This one calls colors and you send that color to the opposite player then they send the next color. I played it with my son, and my only complaint is that I wish it would keep calling colors until someone messes up, but instead it goes so long and whoever has the fastest time wins. I was able to do it no problem. I am very happy I bought it, and will probably give it as a gift.
- Not very happy with the product
     By AQL39W4W9R1XD on 2008-01-18
It was a Xmas gift for my 10 year old granddaughter and it wasn't easy to figure out the instructions and she is very intelligent and I am too for that matter. But, she really did not seem as interested as I thought she would and it was very disappointing for me to see my grandchild not get the wonderful Xmas gift I envisioned....and hoped this would be. Sorry, this game is not that involved for very intelligent children and even the younger children seemed bored with it.
- Awesome!
     By A221GD62U65YUZ on 2008-01-14
I "accidentally" found this toy on Amazon with their "people who bought this, also bought this" section. It was a little expensive, but the reviews were excellent so I bought it. I am so glad I did! Not only does my 8 yr old son love it, but I love it too! It really gets your brain working. I highly recommend this to anyone, even 40 yr olds!
- All Around Fun Family Game!
     By A178RJF9DTITB2 on 2008-01-14
My 7 year old son got this for Christmas this year and my husband and I love it as much as he does. Not only have we played against each other but we enjoy playing it on our own, it is rather addictive. It is small and compact enough to fit in our luggage that we plan to take it with us to Maine for our family reunion this summer. This is the perfect game to have on hand for rainy days or for when the kids complain they are bored. You honestly can't go wrong with this game, I plan to give this as birthday presents this year for all my son's friends.
- Family Loves It!
     By A2MRM91FQ9QPMH on 2008-01-07
I purchased this for my husband and daughter for a Christmas present this year because it never fails we are always playing some kind of sliding game on the dinner table -- quarters, pennies etc. I think they have played it every day since then! It has different games and levels to play that will keep each person entertained. We are even taking it on vacation. I only wish it had a volume control and a separate on/off switch.
- Great reviews from grandkids, nieces & nephews
     By A3HJXHL89TC15A on 2008-01-08
We travel about 1700 miles during the Christmas season, seeing a varity of kids we only get to visit with a couple of times a year. We don't really know their likes and dislikes - and their ages vary dramatically. It's difficult to know what sort of game or gift will appeal, but this one was abig hit. Everyone loved it.
- Lots of fun
     By A1GZKUU5WXSO7H on 2008-02-25
This is a really fast-paced game, and the children (ages 8-12) have really enjoyed it. I have, too! They've only played it a few times since Christmas, so I can't speak to the product's durability, but it appears to be well constructed, and the puck holder is a godsend (if my kids can lose something, they will).
- Great for all ages
     By A1E7AGXQ0DNACW on 2008-01-02
I ordered this for Christmas, but wasn't really sure if it was something the kids would enjoy. It turned out to be a great present for my 7 & 10 year olds, but even my 3 year old enjoys it and is getting good at it. The option for one player is a nice feature as well. Easy to bring along on trips too, compact and the disks store inside the toy.
- Sooo much fun!
     By A39T59FWKPQIWR on 2008-01-06
I love this game as much as my 5 year old son. It is one of the few games that we can play together and I don't have to "let" him win. Very good at building small motor skills and processing quickly. Also very fun and easy to play by yourself. A 'must-have' for every family.
- Fast Pace and Good Memory
     By A2MRHQIWOPGOOJ on 2008-01-07
You better be ready for some action, this is fast paced and need a good memory, and fast hand action. It reminds me of air hockey only on the kitchen table. You throw the chips through the slide and by the color that is called off. Fun Game!!!!!!
- Hyper Slide
     By ALRE5A84LJPGM on 2008-01-07
LOVE THIS TOY!! Got it for my daughter who is 8 years old. Teaches them to be quick on their feet, know their colors, listening and it's great for the whole family. My daughter has played it with everyone in the family including grandparents, aunts and uncles, etc. This toy can be addicting, you never want to stop playing with it. "Rematch" is the word we hear alot when we play Hyper Slide.
- Great fun for kids and adults
     By A3CM4PKS24QD5S on 2008-01-11
I bought this for my 8 yr old grandson, not knowing what to expect the adults gave it a try and didn't want to let the kids play.
Fun, easy to store or take with to someone's home. Would be great fun to have competitions at any age.
- Fun for all ages.
     By A2FLZEH0DAMP03 on 2008-06-12
I got this for my grandson's birthday. He turned 8 and it took a while just to get the packaging off the game, but once we did the fun began. He and his mom played it, he played it alone, I played it alone and I suspect it will get played a lot more tonight when everyone gets home. Great game for most ages. If they can recognize colors and follow the verbal directions, then they can play this game.
- Boring - leave it on the shelf!
     By A2525NAWWNRHMJ on 2008-10-10
My 8-year-old saw ads for this last year and was so anxious to get it for Christmas. Well, he did. He played it a few times, became more than bored, and stuffed it in his closet never to have surfaced again.
- Have to have!!
     By A3SZI8IPC45DH1 on 2007-12-29
My whole family has loved this game as everyone got involved playing it. It is one of the "best" games I have played in a long time!! You almost want to buy a back up just so that you will always have one on hand!
- Kids loved it
     By A2JPO4XMB9U21 on 2007-12-29
I purchased this for grandkids. It is fast paced and they really enjoyed it. Assembly is simple. Table is needed or wood floor for this game in order for the orbs to slide properly. Great game for one or two kids. Fast paced.
- better than video games
     By A14I603MB55IXH on 2008-01-01
Just got this for xmas- don't want our kids playing video games yet, this teaches quick thinking and trains reflexes just like video games, without the violence!
- Great toy
     By A3E9FS9IDI62J0 on 2008-01-01
My 9 yr old son received this as a Christmas gift. He and a friend played for hours and he can play by himself as well with the rubber band inserted. as everyone has said, the self storage is a definite plus.
- love it
     By A20KQEV2WWA7L3 on 2008-01-02
My children age 6 and up love it, my husband and me love it. It is fun, challenging, and a little addictiing. I keep wanting to be a little faster. My son age 6 can play with me and he loves that. This is a great toy that I recommend
- Toy of the year! Great purchase
     By A2L1AJBA62HHUC on 2008-01-11
This thing is a lot of fun for both kids and adults! It has several game variations built in to keep things interesting. The "Simon" game where you try to remember a sequence of color patterns is especially fun for those of us that grew up with such games.
- WOW! What fun!
     By AZET9BXI1STNN on 2008-02-14
Whether you are going solo or with 2, 3, 4 or more players, this one is totally fun and fast! I highly recommend this, it is so worth the price. The only drawback is someone getting way too intense on keeping it going - then laughing and starting over.
I appreciate the fact that all pieces are stored within the unit. The only thing I have to complain about at all is the fact that sometimes I simply can not hear what color is being called out. The game is not one of the annoying ones that are so loud you can't stand to turn it on - but you better listen good!
Totally fun and fast!
- Loved by a 9 year old!
     By A3QJMDSZ7J1X9R on 2008-06-16
We purchased this toy for our 9 year old nephew who loves video games. It was a huge hit and loved playing it with his Dad! Great toy!
- Super fun - if you liked Bop it...
     By A1ES0LVZSGTKJB on 2008-09-20
Got for kids (pre teens/teens) and they love it. Concepts for memorizing and increasing speed are similar to bop it! game so if you liked that, this is a neat twist. You can't turn sound down or off - a little annoying if you are in same room not playing. Rubber band good for single play. Need smooth surface to play on.
