Good and roomy By A2O57RF8U41XX6 on 2007-06-26
I bought this pack because I had another high capacity pack that had just broken and I needed something big for a week long trip. I was very pleased with this item. Aside from having a huge main compartment and a bottom sleeping bag area, it had just enough outside pockets to organize the stuff you need to get at quickly.
It held up very well on the trip and ajustments to the fit were easy to do. The price was resonable also. Very good pack for the money.
Great large pack By A2ILJB1ARYYVUA on 2008-01-01
I recently bought this pack and love it. Larger outdoorsmen (I am 6'2", 220) will find that this pack fits well and is adjustable for taller individuals. Shorter or smaller backpackers may find that the pack is simply too large (it would be difficult to tighten the hip belt for a waist smaller than 34"). The main comparment is huge and the center access makes it useful on short or long treks for getting to your gear. Best hidden feature: the rain fly is semi-attached to the pack and stows in its own pocket at the very bottom of the pack. I would definitely buy this pack again.
A great pack for any multi-day backpacking trip By A6G37HQ00HVFI on 2007-09-27
The High Sierra Long Trail pack is a large, 90L pack that is extra large for packing lots of stuff, and customizable to provide a great fit. I bought this pack a few weeks ago and really love it. After taking it on a trial run on a two-day backpacking/hiking adventure, I'm really quite pleased. I really like the fact that this pack is adjustable for torso height. One note, though: in order to get the waist strap cinched up good and tight for a good fit, I literally had to cinch up the straps as tight as they would go. My waist size is 32", so if yours is larger, you won't have any problem. But anyone smaller than that should look for the next size down. Over all, the pack can hold a lot, it seems durable, and it has a handy built-in rain fly, which is rather cool. Unlike some packs, the top doesn't detach as a small daypack, but that wasn't a problem for me because I use a smaller camelback daypack instead. If you're bigger and want to carry a lot, I'd definitely recommend this one!
Good pack for Big People By A32N8IFQYJV978 on 2007-12-24
I really do like this pack but it is designed for large people. I am 6'6" and I don't even use the torso adjustment although way up. I also have a 32" waist and have to clinch the hip belt although way down. I tried to get a different waist belt but individual parts are not sold any ware I could find. The pack is definitely not for lightweight backpackers but it has the capacity to hold everything you could need on a trip. I like the integrated rain cover and easy access hood and side pockets. I wish the pack had a small pocket on the hip belt; that would be useful for carrying trail snacks. I have really enjoyed this pack so far and I think it should last me a while.
versatile excellent pack By A2VJFRQG5MTW5O on 2008-02-24
im really impressed with how well built this pack is. lots of storage. the extra pockets on the exterior are great for quick access gear. i have it fully packed now for a 14 day expedition in the ozarks. and there is still alot of room left. all of the load adjustments that can be made to this bag make it very versatile. im 6'2" 255 lbs and this pack fits perfect. it will fit most people in the range of 5'8" 150 lbs to 6'6" 280 lbs. the rain fly in the bottom pouch is always good too. and buying a quality hydration bladder with a filter is a real plus.
