  • AWESOME SD CARD

The 1st reviewer here is obviously smoking pot, or does not realize that you must make sure your device is sdhc compliant. I had to flash the firmware in my a636n pda, but it works real good.

  • Perfect.

Yeah so basically, PNY is an excellent brand. While not the Cadillac of flash products, it's certainly at least the Ford of flash products. No problems at all. The device is advertised at class 4, meaning it ought to read/write at a MINIMUM sustained rate of 4 MB/sec. I benchmarked mine to above this number by about 20-30% for both read and write. Popped right into my Canon A570IS---I can now store some absurd amount of photographs at high resolution. Like, 5 years of photos...if I wanted to....or hours of video at 640x480x30fps. I would not hesitate to buy this product. I myself am a Kingston fan, but for the price difference, I bought the far less expensive PNY and haven't had any problem.

Oh, and PLEASE, techno-losers, before you say this card doesn't work in your device, try making sure your device is SDHC compliant??? (it won't be if it's old).

  • Working for me with my D80

I agree with the general proposition that you get what you pay for...and, this one is working for me. I'll re-review if I have problems.

  • Excellent Card, Excellent Price

    By A3Q60CF6PBF6EZ on 2007-10-17
Used this card with my Nikon D80. I had a couple of 2gig cards also for my trip abroad. I ONLY used this card, never needed the other cards. At the highest setting on my Nikon (10.1 megapixal) can take 1000 pictures. More than enough for my needs. I snapped almost 800 pics. And never felt I had to "save" space for another day.

Had no issues with the card with my camera or my Mac. iPhoto read it great. I did plug the card into a friends card reader, which did not read it. So make sure your card reader can read HC (high capacity) cards. Although the newer card readers can, or just plug directly from your camera. Also more important, make sure camera (if you are using for this purpose) can read HC, because not all cameras can.

Otherwise great purchase, good price. Highly recommended

Bought this card to go with my new Panasonic FZ18S digital camera and it is working great, I can store over 2000 pics at 8.1mp!!
At this price it is well worth it.

  • Good and fast memory, poor build quality
    By A39KJOCZGCM8P1 on 2008-05-27
I have a love/hate relationship with PNY. I've always been enamored with their prices, going back to the days of the GeForce4600 Graphics cards (they were one of the first vendors on the shelves). But they must cut some corners as far as QA is concerned. The plastic housing on all three of these 8GB cards have issues when inserting/ejecting from my Canon HF10, PS3 and Wii. The size of the card is slightly larger than the receptacle. I have the same problem with a Transcend SDHC 16GB card. Odds are, both PNY and Transcend purchase from the same OEM.

I have an 8GB SDHC card from SanDisk. I've never had physical size issues with that card.

I have no complaints as far as speed is concerned. Even though the card is branded as a Class 4 card, the HF10 rates it as a Class 6 and sustained transfer rates are in the 12 - 15MB/s range.

I can't speak to reliability. So far, I haven't had any issues with data retention, but then, I don't use these for long term storage. Nor would I ever recommend anyone use this class of flash for **any** long term storage purposes. That's what tape, CDR and DVDR are for.

  • easy return

I bought the wrong product and needed to return this back to the seller. The seller was very good about the return, and my money was refunded back to my account as soon as they received their product back.

  • 8 GB SDHC Card was perfect for me!
    By A1DO9LRCO23EOM on 2008-06-14
I have a Canon A560 that shoots video in addition to photos. My adopted grandson was about to graduate Kindergarten and I wanted to make a video of the event. Called school and they said ceremony would be 1 hour or less (this was important since the A560 will not take video longer than 1 hour). I had been using 1 GB SD cards for photos in this camera, but it was clear from some testing I would need a bigger memory card to take video. So I bought this 8 GB SDHC card. The card was shipped fast and the 42 minute video I took of the graduation came out very good. I had to buy an SDHC card reader to transfer the video from camera to computer, but this 8 GB SDHC card worked perfect and comfortably held 42 minutes of HQ video with room to spare. Happy with purchase and would buy again. Also, the card has a lock/unlock feature to prevent accidental deletions.

  • Junk. Avoid this brand.
    By A1NEDS9UJLUMSW on 2007-08-13
Avoid this brand. I bought this card because it was the cheapest available (new and unopened; not used) and figured the technology was universal and basically standard across manufacturers. The card I got was a total dud, as was the replacement Amazon sent me free of charge. Didn't work at all. I'm retunring it for a refund and buying a different brand.

  • A Great Gift
    By AT23T76G3SKH4 on 2008-04-26
Ordered for my grandchild who is extremely happy. She is a great aspiring photographer. The price and size were perfect for her camera.
She got twice the GB's for a lot less.
