  My daughter loves all the Barbie movies, so of course she had to have this doll as soon as she saw it. Normally I have no complaints about Barbie toys. This one, however, is driving me insane!! The stupid tailfeather thing is not attached to the doll. It snaps into a hole in her back. And falls out. Over and over. Every time she tries to flip them up so they open, they fall out. I have put the thing back in for my daughter at least a dozen times this morning alone. I am ready to chuck it out the window!!
  Aside from the tailfeathers, this is a nice doll. The songs are cute and we are looking forward to the movie. I just wish the feathers were permanently attached to the doll, or stayed in better when moved.

  I bought this doll for my daughter a few days after it's inital release, and she ADORES this doll. I haven't had any problems with the wings/feathers coming out of the dolls back, as the other reviewer did. My only problem with this doll as that it sings a bit of one or two of the songs from the movie. The movie hasn't been released yet, and I'm already sick of the music. I expected this, as a couple of the other "movie" barbies also sing, and while I'm annoyed, it is one of my daughter's favorite features about the toy. The clothes are beautiful, and the doll has been a good addition to my daughter's collection.

  Okay...the red panda is supposed to sing? Well it doesn't. I bought this doll for my 6 year old daughter and she loves it! She hasn't put it down all day. Everything is beautiful but the red panda doesn't sing. I am not sure why. Either way, the doll is a hit with my daughter (although the peacock feathers and the shoes fall off a lot). I think it bothers me more than my daughter.

  My daughter was given the Princess Luciana doll as a birthday present with the DVD and loved it so much that I bought this one as well. She goes to sleep with her sharing her pillow and listening to her sing in the dark. Yeah, the feathers come off fairly easily, but they snap right back in. Sometimes my daughter needs a little help with that, but it doesn't seem to frustrate her at all. I didn't see anything about the red panda singing on the box, so I'm not sure what the other reviewer is referring to. Her dress is beautiful and she is now a beloved member of the Barbie tribe.

  My 4 year old loves the movie, and wouldn't let go of this doll on Christmas morning to unwrap anything else. She loves it.
  
  My wife and I resisted the whole Barbie-thing, but the message of the movies (with regards to women) is better than a lot of the Disney products. If you can overlook the unattainable body image, the rest of the message is good: strong, capable, active, etc. At least she's not lying around waiting for a prince to kiss her; or waiting for an abusive, beast, boyfriend to turn into a nice guy.

  My 3 yr old daughter loves this doll as well as the others from this collection. My issue with so many of the Barbie clothes is that they are too revealing and too grown-up looking for little girls to see and play with everyday. This doll's clothes are so pretty and girly. • WONDERFUL BARBIE DOLL!

  My daughter recieved this doll for her 5th Birthday along with Tika, Luciana, and Antonio. She absolutely LOVES this line of Barbies. This particular doll is the favorite of course and she actually takes her to bed with her every night so she can listen to Ro sing her the lullaby song. We have not had problems with the feathers as another reviewer states. Her brother popped them out once and we popped them right back in and have never had another problem with it. She flips them up and down out of view all the time and they endure it with ease!! GREAT BARBIE and I highly recommend this to any Island Princess fan!!!
  
  
• Cute toy, but peacock feathers fall off.

  I bought this for my daughter who loves these movies. It looks like it's nicely put together, but as other reviewers have stated, as soon as she starts playing with it the tailfeathers fall off over and over and over again. She just plays with it now without them because it was so frustrating. They have a doll that doesn't have this attachement on it, I would suggest you just buy that.

  This is very pretty. The peacock fan part does not work real well but has not kept our daughter from playing with her.

  My girls (3&4) LOVE this Barbie but the wings don't stay on all that well. They are removeable and often just pop out on their own. Other than that - they LOVE (and already know all the words) to the songs the doll sings!

  Of course this is a favorite...gave to my 4 year old grandaughter for Christmas...not sure she has put it down yet! Beautiful looking doll, easy to take off and put on dress. Only issue is the shoes do not stay on while playing with the doll, so they will probably get lost (this happens to most of the dolls so not an issue for my granddaughter).

  My daughter loves this Barbie ... I bought it along with the Island Princess DVD. As mentioned in other reviews, the peacock feathers don't stay in very well and Barbie doesn't sing when the racoon is in her arms, but it doesn't bother my daughter and I'm very happy with the purchase.

  Wonderful toy!! The barbie is beautiful. She even sings!! The one problem that I have noticed though is that the fan has a hard time staying on the back of the barbies body. My daughter loves playing with the Prince and Princess and acts out scenes of the movie. This was a great value as it was priced close to $[...] less than WalMart - and I got free shipping.

  The Barbie Island Princess Doll was a hit with my 3 year old this Christmas. She kept asking for a "doll who sings". The doll sings by pressing button on her necklace. She sings 3 (?) different songs from the movie. The feather-wings are kinda aggravating, they are made to be detachable. The only solution would have been to make them permanent.   My 3 and 4 year old love this doll. The singing feature is nice and works quite well. They gave up on the feathers and shoes since they fall off too easily. Hide the shoes if you have little ones like my 1 year old who puts everything in their mouth. Barbie hasn't kept her shoes on since I was a kid and I am 34! I haven't seen the crown or brush since the doll came out of the package but that hasn't bothered the girls. All in all, a cute doll with a few minor issues.

  i bought this doll for my 4 y old daughter, she loves it! The doll is nice and it sings softly. However it keeps losing her shoes. Mattel don't you know this about many Barbie dolls?!!!! Please do something maybe like the My Scene doll's shoes???

  My 2 1/2 year old LOVES Barbie ANYTHING. This doll is great for her! It sings 2 songs from the Island Princess Movie. Mt daughter brings it in and loves when I sing along with it, especially the lullaby. The peacock feathers come off easily, but it snaps right back on. You just might have to do this several times a day, or you can convieniently "lose" it for a few days. Great for any Barbie lover!

  I bought it for my 3 year old who adores Princess Ro so much. The doll is beautiful and the gown is cute. But I'm a little disappointed with the tail that falls off every now and then and according to description the red panda sings when Barbie hold it but it didn't do anything. For $12 I paid, although the Panda doesn't sing I think is reasonable. I just hope their description is more accurate other than that my little girl love this doll.

• Where to get these dolls for a great price

  First I would like to say you can buy this at Tuesday Mornings stores for $[...] if you have a store around you that still has it in stock. I thought it was a great doll for the price and ended up buying the movie to go with this. I also found Prince Antonio on clearance at Kmart for $[...]. And bought the movie on amazon for [...]. Best present - she has watched the movie like a gazillion times. This particular doll she enjoys taking her shoes on and off, the peacock feathers i had to explain she cannot wear them all the time because the don't stay in very well, they are moreso for display. I told her they are only for Ball. She was satisfied with that. She doesn't try to get Ro naked like she is doing with her other dolls so that is a big plus.

  My little three y/o loves to sing along to the "Island Princess" songs Well as best she can. She plays with this doll constantly but be warned. The peacock feathers don't attach well and it dosen't always recognize when you put the panda in her arms. It's suppose to sing duets with the Panda if you place it in her arms
