  • Great fun, if a bit short...

    By ACUYXGCMWVF7S on 2007-10-12
I was very pleasantly surprised by Medal of Honor Airborne, as the series had been going downhill as of late. This game recaptures this intense action of the original, and pairs it with a novel gameplay approach.

PROS: This game borrows a page from Grand Theft Auto, in that it attempts to give you an "open-ended" feel. It's still relatively linear and scripted, but when you parachute into a mission, you are the one who decides which objective you tackle first. This is a much welcome change in WWII shooters, the majority of which are very, very scripted and allow no deviation (looking at you, Brothers in Arms). This game also features nice graphics, and while they are not cutting edge, the atmosphere in this game is terrific and really conveys the chaos of each mission. The missions are also fun and varied, and make strategic sense. The weapon upgrade system is nice, as it rewards using--and getting better--with a particular weapon. A little hint of an RPG game goes a long way to make this a better experience. The game is also pretty realistic, and shooting is marked by recoil, or aiming with iron sights. It's hard to run and shoot, so this means to hit anything accurately, you need to stop, kneel and aim.

CONS: This game is incredibly short. There are only 6 missions, and depending on the difficulty level, you could finish this game in under 6 hours, easy. This is a shame, because the content is quite good, but the ending is abrupt and leaves you wanting more. For all the realism, the last mission is too reminiscent of Return to Wolfenstein, with its Nazi super-soldiers that walk around carrying and shooting an MG-42 from the hip! There is some enemy re-spawning, but it's usually only limited to situations where you die and have to work your way through an area again.

Bottom line, this is a very fun game, a breath of fresh air for a stale franchise, but one that is over way too quickly, especially for a full priced game.

  • Choppy gameplay

    By A3TIC3BIXX55GW on 2007-09-07
I have a very good computer that exceeds the requirements for this game. I have an Nvidia 7800 256MB PCI express card with a Pentium4 3.4ghz processor. I also have 2 gigs of ram. No matter what option I choose the gameplay gets choppy. I even lowered the graphics settings to the very lowest and it was still choppy where high action is taking place. There are also very few missions in the single player campaign. I am also not enjoying the lack of a quick save in Medal of Honor Airborne. It has a checkpoint system that really takes away from the enjoyment factor. I think I would still rather play the original Call of Duty or Battlefield 2 for a war game instead of Medal of Honor Airborne. They really need a patch to fix the choppiness of this game.

  • A good entry in the WWII FPS market

    By AZEX3YUQYC513 on 2007-09-16
Just got this game last week, after dealing with a few odd install quirks (if you don't have windows firewall enabled, it does 99.9% of the install, and then crashes). Once installed it works well on my machine, which is an older, but highend system (p4 3.06ghz, 2gigs of ram, 256 MB AGP card) running on a mix of high and medium settings.

I've only played the 1st mission so far (Operation Husky). These are all paratrooper missions, and instead of starting off at a fixed spawn point, you drop in and can steer your drop to land almost anywhere on the map... although ignoring the marked drop zones can be lethal, as you may come down right in front of pill box...

At least in the 1st mission, the map is very non linear, and there are a lot of opportunities for flanking, sniping, dropping grenades off roof tops.

Unlike a lot of FPS games that only have a lean right and left, this one allows you to lean up and down, so you can peek over cover and shoot, peek under, etc.

Combat is pretty brutal, you really need to use cover, and its pretty much impossible to just stand and slug it up with enemy troops. It has no Quick Save, so you can't do kill/save/kill/save exploits.

The squadmate AI is pretty good. Your mates don't tend to put the heads infront of your gun as often, and enemy bots will use cover also.

  • Very Entertaining, well worth the money

    By A3KNOHUFRYDG10 on 2007-09-05
I find it difficult to believe that gamers bash games based on computer performance issues. This game does require a pretty decent graphics card and CPU to run, but this is to be expected. This is nothing new in the realm of PC gamming. If you can't keep up with the technology requirements, then stick with your console.

This is by far the best metal of Honor in this series. Graphics are very well done and AI is challenging. Replay value is high and game play seems less linear then past metal of honor games. I have an NVIDIA 7600gt with a 1.86 Intel Duo chip, 2 gigs of ram, and a fidelity extreme gamer sound card. I'm able to push full graphics at the 1280 resolution with no delays. I look forward to upgrading to the 8 series of NVIDIA so I can replay later on with increased resolution.

Definitely download the demo before purchasing the full version to determine how it will run.

  • A GOOD GAME - HIT BY THE ...S.T.A.L.K.E.R. CURSE

    By A74TA8X5YQ7NE on 2007-10-13
The MEDAL OF HONOR series were probably the BEST WWII FPS games available (with CODE OF HONOR and RETURN TO CASTLE WOLFENSTEIN a close 2nd and 3rd). The atmosphere, the feeling, the rush of being in the boots of WWII soldiers were unsurpassable!

True, MoH-AIRBORN may not be at par with the first MoH games, yet it is the successor MoH-PACIFIC ASSAULT failed to become! New movement options (peak above and below), a few RPG sprinkles (weapons upgrades!), improved graphics (especially the shadows!) and realistic factor (you REALLY need to get used to shooting from cover!). Finally, it is the unpredictability of where you start your mission and in what order you get your objectives completed that add some clear points to this game.

Now, here are the bad news:
    - The game is TOO SHORT. By any standard. EA let, once more, greed get the better of their decision making: I am sure, as you are reading this, the other half of the game is getting burned onto disks labeled "Expansion".
    - Checkpoints. I hate checkpoint games! Not only because you usually end up dying just before reaching the next one - but mostly because it is the gimmick used by game publishers to artificially augment the game's duration (by having us replay the same segments again and again...).
    - The game is hit by the STALKER curse. The STALKER curse is when an excellent game is actually engineered for the...next generation of computers. STALKER is a uniquely open-ended FPS-RPG - yet my copy is gathering dust. My computer is not that shabby (P4 3.2MHZ, 2GB RAM, nVidia 7600GT-512MB on ASUS P4P 800) yet, as with STALKER, MoH-AIRBORN stutters and freezes all the time (and I found out that this is true even to people with even much faster PC systems).
As with STALKER, when I will have the system to play MoH-AIRBORN to its full potential, the game will be obsolete.

All in all, a good game if you have the PC system to handle its true requirements (and the patience to even then endure inconveniencing moments).

  • empty game box!
    By A2HK2G7OXMI7ZX on 2007-09-05
I pre-ordered this item in early August. I received it today. It did not include the game disks. It only came with a copy of Battlefield 2. What gives!!??

I have been looking forward to playing this game. I now have thrown away $49.99. I should have just waited until today and physically driven down to BestBuy or something. I feel like a fool.

I just called Amazon cust. support and I was able to get a refund.

  • Intense
    By A14PMQUJFUO352 on 2007-09-08
This is easily one of MOH's best games. Yes, you do need a suitable computer to play it, but if you tone down the audio quality and a few of the video effects, it will run ok. The graphics are very good, but what I find most enjoyable is that you can run around anywhere in the arena of action and attack from different areas. Many complain the weapons are harder to use because you have to zoom onto the target (right mouse button) and fire, and because the machine gun bursts (flames) degrade the view; but I think these features make the game more realistic. Another aspect that I think is an improvement is the save routine; it's automatic after a checkpoint is reached. Now, unlike with earlier MOH games, you'd better be careful. No more rushing forward and firing away at a target following a quick save. Now you HAVE to take your shot and pull back for cover before you're hit. Again, this is more realistic. You're rarely alone on the battlefield with guys around you barking orders and conversing back and forth. It is a different game than earlier versions of MOH, but very, very good. I'm having a great time with it. It exceeded my expectations and time flies when you're playing.

  • Not much value
    By A11NRU3W8RS375 on 2007-09-14
This game is already dropping in price, the first time I've seen a FPS drop this quick.
The why is simple it just doesn't deliver on any level.
Bots are dumb as dirt. MP maps are small and dark. If you fire you show up on radar and if you kill an opponent he sees a video of your firing spot and he re spawns and comes after you in seconds. with no VOIP your totally out of comm with your teammates. Clanners using Teamspeak or Vent win over, and over, and over. Not much fun.
MP browser is the worst I've ever seen. Long, long, wait for browser to finish a refresh and you can't use browser until done. Lots of servers listed, but no players on them. Filters don't function. I installed the patch but didn't address any of the problems.
An OK first time shooter for kids, but no adult interest.
Very pretty, if you have high end graphics. Cpu intensive.

  • I Can't believe I waited months for this!
    By A22QKROZE4HYYA on 2007-10-01
I have waited for this oft delayed game for many moons. I would check the gaming sites for the latest news about a release date. I pre-ordered to get it sooner. What a disappointment! EA really dropped the ball on this one. I didn't think they could make a game worse than "Pacific Assault" but they did. It runs like crap on my computer that has a Pentium 4 duo-core, 2 full megs of RAM and a brand new GeForce 8600 GTS card. I set the video card and game to the lowest levels and it plays passably. I can't tell if the gameplay just sucks or if it's just running like crap. It looks like hell on these settings.
The Game will not save checkpoints-My control settings mysteriously switch themselves around-I have not even been through ten minutes of the first level before I'm fiddling with the settings trying to squeeze some performance from the game-or I give up in frustration.
Save your money-EA laid a rotten egg on this one

  • Another great WW II First Person Shooter with some weapon upgrades
    By AUX9KZUUB3YCE on 2007-09-22
A well done World War II FPS featuring the USA Airborne division.

As with any game there are positives and negatives...let me elaborate.

    The Pros:

    1.)Excellent graphics, audio and gameplay.

2.)Several upgrades to weapons (larger ammo clips, scopes, faster reload, etc.) that become available with progress in the game.

3.)The game requires thinking, patience and working with your comrades. No stand up and blast away here; you just won't last very long.

4.)Multiplayer available if you register your game online.(See Cons: 2.) below)

5.)Many different weapons to choose from; each with their own different characteristics.

6.)A really satisfying sniper role; one of my favorite modes.

7.)Non-linear game play; although you must complete specific goals to progress, you can complete your objectives in any order and your movement is unrestricted.

    The Cons:

1.)You'll need a high end system* to run this game properly.

2.)If you want to play online (multiplayer), you must register your game with 'Electronic Arts' (and there is only one registration allowed per game). So this may restrict the resaleability of the game somewhat.

3.)Saves are done (automatically), but only at specific checkpoints (controlled by the game). So if you got killed just before reaching a checkpoint you have to start the entire segment again. (and you must engage all the same enemy you just fought, again)

4.)If you want to switch difficulty from lets say 'casual' (easy) mode to 'normal' you loss all your game saves and must start all over (which includes a tedious tutorial)

5.)There are only 6 different battles segments (in 6 different geographic locales) on the entire DVD (plus a short training tutorial); and although some of the segments featured extended firefights, the entire game was somewhat short to play.

    6.)Limited replay value.

Finally...this is my favorite type of game (that being FPS with some weapon upgrades) and despite its overall short length, I really liked this game . The fighting was visceral and gut-wrenching; you really felt a part of the action going on around you. 4 1/2 Stars.

    * Review based on the following specs: OS was 'Vista' with a Dual Core processor, 2 GBs of RAM and a 8800 series nVidia video card.

  • COMES WITH NO GAME
    By AKWK87LU5SCKT on 2007-09-06
Thank you amazon for sending an empty game box. I love throwing my hard earned money into your website and recieving the pre ordered game but NOT THE GAME I WANTED...Buy this game somewhere else...CAUTION YOU MIGHT NOT RECIEVE THE GAME!!!!

  • Just a bit dissapointed
    By A8LBH1QFUUTRT on 2007-10-10
Wow, thought they might get it right after Pacific Assault bombed...The multi-player was not ready for gameservers at the time of release, you cannot use symbols in your name, so if you are in a gaming clan, you will ticked off about that. The graphics are great, but you better have more than minimum hardware requirements to play the game and have any sort of fun with it. While we get the point that it is "Airborne" it shouldn't be necessary to Chute in every single darn time you get killed. (don't get killed, right ;)

I do recommend the game. I have confidence that EA will meet the expectations of the gaming community and release the required amount of patches required to get it as good as they can; However, If your coming off MOHAA, you will probably end up going back to MOHAA as I did. It is nowhere near as personal as MOHAA. If they could only update MOHAA they would make millions...

  • Medal Of Honor Airborne Could of Been Made A Better Game
    By A1VCJKQUUDV6SL on 2007-10-10
First of all, Medal of Honor Airborne only has six missions to play in and that is it. The game should have had at least twelve missions to play in it to be called a full version game. This game is suppose to be a full version game. Not a add-on or an expansion game. I feel like I have been ripped off by someone.

Of the six missions, only the first four missions honor the brave soldiers that fought in World War II. The last two missions do not honor the brave soldiers who fought during World War II. The last two missions are fantasy made missions that remind me of going to amusement park. You have super Nazi's in the last two missions that take forever to kill. Shoot them in the head or blow them up with grenades it doesn't do any good. It takes at least fifty to a hundred shots with your weapon to take down one of these super Nazi's. I felt like I needed to find a super weapon like a laser gun to bring them down.

I notice in the fifth mission (Operation Varsity) there are railroad cars that are not European made rail cars. They are North American made railroad cars. What is up with that? It is quite obvious that somebody just slapped some North American railroad cars into the mission just to finish it.

In the last mission, (Operation Der Flakturm) American paratroopers land on a German Flak tower in Germany right after Operation Varsity. This mission never took place during World War II. The Russians were the only ones to assault German Flak towers during the war. In fact, the Flak tower used in the game never even got built in Germany. There was three generations of Flak towers built by the Germans during the war and only the first two generations of towers were built in Germany. Those towers were built in the German cities of Berlin and Hamburg during the war. The game shows a third generation built Flak tower built in Germany, that was actually built in Vienna, Austria during the war. Somebody screwed up.

It almost seems like two different teams of game developers work on the Medal of Honor Airborne game. One team worked on the first four missions of the game which were realistic and actually happen during World War II while another team worked on the last two missions in the game which are more sci-fi and fantasy. I really wanted to like this game because I'm a big World War II fan. With all the actual events that happen during World War II, why would the game developer need to makeup any missions for the game?

I have to say, too, that this is the hardest PC game that I have ever had to load onto my PC. I have never seen a game with more bugs and problems. There is virtually no tech support from EA. I was very, very frustrated with trying to load and play this game.

This another example of a game that should of went somewhere that ended up going nowhere. Either the game publisher or the game developer just wanted to hurry and finish the game just to try to beat the holiday rush. Somebody was trying to hurry and make some money on this game before the other big name titles come out later on this year. I hate to say it, but Call of Duty 4 is going to be the game to beat this year.

  • Great game
    By A40N5P6DG7FOL on 2007-12-04
I'm really surprised to see some of the negative reviews of this game on this forum. I'm a big fan of World War II first-person shooters, and this is by far the best one I've played. The graphics are fantastic, the missions are challenging but fun, and I love the fact that the entire game is much less linear than previous Medal of Honor games. Being able to choose where to drop is a great feature. The enemies are far more intelligent than in other shooters, so you never know exactly what to expect. Overall I had a lot of fun playing it, and hope there's an expansion for it soon.

  • To short
    By ACJHQDET85KJ2 on 2007-09-04
It not a great game but it is very good. The best game out for the pc in a long time which is not really saying much.My main gripe is it is way to short of a game for the amount of money being charged for it.I would suggest waiting a short awhile and buy it from sellers on amazon. It wont take long for two reasons. The game is so short the average player can finish it in about ten hours and there is not much in the way of replay value.I still think pc gamming is slowley becoming obsolete. The consoles are taking over.Reason why,To match the visual effects a 400 dollar console offers you would need an extreamly high quallity gamming pc costing around 5 to 6 thousand dollars. And then keep upgrading the graphics card every couple of years.Oh,buy the way a top of the line card costs more than a gamming console.I just went to systems req lab and checked out how well my system will run Crysis. It will but just a little over minimum. The only problem is I have XP and to run at recomended I will have to change to Vista OP.So that is another reason pc gaming will become obsolete. To run pc games in the future not only will people have to keep updating expensive graphic cards but will have to change there op system to keep up with the newer games.THAT SUCKS,I THINK I HAVE HAD IT WITH PC GAMES.I THINK I WILL GO WITH THE CONSOLES MYSELF.

  • life should not be this difficult for a game
    By A2VJV8THFT83J5 on 2007-09-18
I am currently in the process of downloading any EA updates. Unfortunately, like most of the world, I have dial-up, as DSL is still not economically viable for my area.

OK, after 10 min, I see EA does not have any downloads for my extremely choppy gameplay (Windows XP, 3Ghz, 1 GB RAM, 80 GB free hard drive, ATI Radeon X1300 Pro, 16x (or higher- I will not bother to look it up) DVD.
All specified requirements for this game. I now see it requires a Pixel Shrader 3.0 support video. Man, that's BS, if that is the problem.

I do not understand why EA products are so finicky, and do not run on a computer I specified 9 months ago to play games. Buy Call of Duty, any version. Activision knows how to do it properly. EA is just a pain in the a.....

And is currently a waste of money for me. Anyone want to buy my copy for $[...]? ($[...] savings)

  • Medal Of Honor Airborne Game needs new game card
    By A2IVQUSDJS8NW1 on 2007-10-20
I purchased this game for my husband, he loved the other games! I was disappointed to find that I needed to purchase an upgraded game card for his PC before he could play it, (he already has a high end card). He hasn't been able to play it yet, so I can't comment on the game itself.

  • Beware pre-ordering from Amazon
    By A1VO2Y7427BTOF on 2007-09-10
I tried the demo while I waited the full PC Medal of Honor:Airborne PCgame I Pre-Ordered from Amazon. Demo was good I found online but I held off final thoughts until THE game arrived. I could not wait as this franchise has not issued an new game to MOH in years!

What did Amazon send me? An empty Game Demo Box with a CD for some tired old game not related to the MOH franchise!!

An empty box!!!!!!!!! Amazon sent me a box without the game!

No Medal of Honor:Airborne for PC. Now I have to wait for two weeks or more to, hopefully, get the full game per their refund standards.

I know Amazon will make the credit and all but they need to set up the QC process better. Imagine if I had bought an iPhone only to get an empty box to be filled in at a later date? Come on, I preordered so I would be one of the first with the game and early ones online and now they took that away from me.

I am so disappointed. Hoepfully, the replacement will be here soon even though Amazon charged me a long time ago for the game.

Even with the game, if it gets here, I will still feel 'shorted' by the Amazon experience. Why don't they just Fed-X the replacment game now? Trust me, I already sent it back to the post office minutes after getting an empty game box.

Step up Amazon, do something better to enrich a customer experinece that so far is negative. Fed X the replacement.

  • Great game, a few quirks, but still awesome..
    By A184D8TCXQ09GM on 2007-09-11
    [...]

Anyway, the actual game is great. I think it's the best Medal of Honor to come out to date. Graphics are great, gameplay takes some getting used to but it's great as well, and the whole parachuting into different locations/reaching checkpoints to save the game/unlocking different weapon features as your experience with them increases is really well thought out/more realistic. No more quick saving every 5 seconds so you can "bum rush" the next objective as many times as needed without consequence while growing more aware of the exact position the enemy is in with each pass! There are still a few annoying little quirks that have been present ever since the Allied Assault days, like getting shot THROUGH WALLS when near corners. For example, you are peaking around a corner, an enemy spots you/begins shooting, you quickly stop peaking and get back behind the wall, yet somehow you still see bullet tracers coming right at you and get shot 2 or 3 times while behind a WALL! I understand the occasional ricochet, but it happens almost EVERY TIME! It's not that big of a deal, unless you are really low on health, so overall I'd say it's a great gaming experience. You need to have a real nice PC to run this game at it's full potential, but that's of course the way PC gaming goes. (It's one of the factors that drives the PC hardware market!) I know it might be a pain at times, but when it comes down to it nothing beats using a mouse/keyboard for controls and the vastly superior resolutions of PC games as opposed to consoles. Consoles may be less of a hassle in this aspect, but they will never look as nice/have the control system of a PC. Consoles also require "Xbox Live" subscriptions or whatever to play online with other people. That stinks! With that said, if you do get a chance to play this game on a nice PC, you will be absolutely hooked like I am. I'm already on my second run through the Single Player game, then it's on to multi-player. Highly recommended! P.S. I've played this game on both Vista and XP on my machine. Vista, with it's higher overhead, just does not run it as well as XP does. That might be part of the reason behind some peoples' "choppy gameplay" reviews. If you still experience problems in XP, try updating your video and sound card drivers. Some sound cards alone are incompatible and been known to cause problems. If all else fails, turn down the sound quality and give it a try.

  • Just misses the drop zone
    By A3EN0J81ZDAD1X on 2007-09-19
This game was very good. It is a resource hog! I have a Pentium D 3ghz, Nvidia 7900GT and 1.5 Gigs of ram and the game took it all. I had to shut down all the background task just so it would run good, not great. (Much easier if you go to run and enter msconfig and then turn off all start up programs than what the manual tells you to do.) Some of the new effect were spectacular. I really like this game I just wish it ran more like Pacific Assault or COD 2. After paying both in multi- player COD 1 and 2 is better. But this is the best Medal of Honor game both single and multi-player versions. I did enjoy playing it very much. I just hope the next version does not need a mainframe super computer to play. Sometimes a little less is a lot more. I will give it four and a half stars if I had a choice. A little too short, no quick save and the choppy play are the reason.

  • Finished in 2 days
    By A32CSMQSZ14OIL on 2007-09-24
I will first say that I do like this game very much. I have read reviews on gaming sites that said it is boring until the last 2 missions, but that is not true. The game has alot of excitement right the get go, though the last 2 are even more intense.

The graphics are the best I have seen from any FPS game. the lighting and detail are amazing, though the characters in the game arent done as well.

The sound is great as well and the whole dropping into the battle from above is cool, but short lived. The enemy AI is pretty good as you will see the enemy raise theer gun over their head and fire their or toss a nade over the shoulder from behind a box.

The few bad things are how quick the game is over and the on-line play is good, but missing the objective play I loved in the original MOHAA. They also say the game is non-linear, but it is not all that way. You have several objectives that you can attack in any order you want, but you have to beat all those objectives to open the last ones. I didn't find it that interesting. and for $50 (which is what it was when I got it) is too much for this game. I would wait until the price comes down and spend your $50 on The Orange Box and get Half-Life 2 episode 2, Tema Fortress 2, and Portal. That is going to be a great deal. This game is alot of fun while it lasts, but over too fast.

  • Have we not learned anything?
    By A3H573TVN6KSVH on 2007-10-29
Sorry to rant but I hope this is a helpful rant. Have we not learned anything from the past? I wont buy EA games anymore because they simply don't care about what they put into a game anymore, all they care about is pumping out as many games as they can so they can make a quick buck and its seems to have worked. Now I've enjoyed past MOH games but when Call of Duty came out I stopped playing them. I decided to give them another shot and I bought MOH Pacific Assault. I was very upset with it so then I thought well maybe they got it right with Airborne but then I remember about past EA games I bought.

I have EA NHL 07 and I was also kinda disappointed with it. The game is fun but lacks some of the basic things like when I score a goal you can hear crowd goes nuts but the people in the background do nothing and it kinda takes away some of the fun. The people who bought this game were screaming on the forums for updates and actually came up with some great ideas but EA doesn't care they were working on and came out with NHL 08.

EA could care less about the quality of the games they come out with. Now I haven't played Airborne but reading other peoples reviews tells me the same old crap is still happening and I advise you to stop wasting your money on EA games.

    Thank you

  • Not Call Of Duty, for sure
    By A2VO3WEANEP9NA on 2008-05-26
Having been a game designer for a few years, and a gamer since I was 25. At 61, I have come to expect a certain amount of quality, and playability from the games I buy. MOH Airborne falls short of my expectations. Their "sighting system" for the weapons available to the player, leave one frustrated and displeased. Having spent time in combat in Vietnam, I KNOW how to aim and fire a weapon. In MOH Airbourne Assault, it's as if the player is spastic, you find yourself having difficulty aiming your weapon, and become frustrated. Even when you have the enemy squarely in your sights, the chances of your hitting him are beyond statistical probability.
I've NEVER had so much trouble hitting a real enemy as I had hitting NPC enemies in this game. They need to review their statistics for the hit/miss algorithm. Meanwhile, the Italian "Blackshirts" all shoot like Annie Oakley, or Daniel Boone. Fun factor? Two out of ten. Overall, two out of five for the nice graphics, but it STILL isn't Call Of Duty (any of them) or Half-Life2. Too bad too, I was hoping for more for my money.

Overall, this game should be a 6 out of a 5. The gameplay, graphics, exceed alot of war games out there, especially COD2. I think the only thing this game needs work on is the multiplayer, which i think EA will take care of. Anyone out there giving this game a rating less than 4 must be smoking something!!

  • Empty CD case (CORRECTED by Amazon)
    By A2DOWF5QG477I6 on 2007-09-16
Was very excited to play this game so I pre-ordered it. The box finally arrives and I open it up to find out that the CD-case was empty. SO now I have to wait to return it and get a new one.

    This Sucks.

I know it's not Amazons fault, but I hope not too many other people get the same dissapointment as I did.

    UPDATE

Amazon just contacted me to tell me they have already shipped me a replacement free of charge. Now THAT is what I call great customer service! Thanks Amazon, you just won a customer for life.

  • Short, scripted and not much replay value
    By A2WLDEORTNRY0D on 2007-10-07
Could have been great. The visuals are very nice. The AI is pretty decent too. I completed the game on the hardest setting in 6 hours. There are only 6 levels. The multiplayer value has yet to be proven and with better games like COD 4 and another Halo, FEAR and Unreal coming...your money is definitely better spent else where.

  • It was fun... but the AI kinda ruined it for me.
    By A3RZ4OX9M5CZE6 on 2007-10-27
Over all i am having fun with the game, but the AI kinda ticked me off. I have seen alot of the AI hiding in plain veiw... by that meen on a side of a sand bag wall that fully exposed them to me, standing out in the open to shoot at me. when they were behind cover, they ran back and forth along the same route over and over, would stick there head up long enough for a head shot with the pistol.

but over all i do think thins game had alot to offer, the free roaming levels are sweet.

  • Pretty good game with some areas lacking.
    By A37BNMAR9GROAX on 2007-11-07
Medal of Honor has been known for quality gameplay and Airborne is no exception. Graphically the game is great. Single player is fantastic and lends to a lot of creativity. The AI is significantly improved over most shooters. The ability to drop in and start play anywhere gives Airborne a flare all its own. The only disadvantage to this game is multiplayer. The lack of maps and ways to play is limiting at best. Medal of Honor Airborne is a fantastic, challenging and innovative twist on a World War II shooter. My opinon if your looking for a good multiplayer game you might be slightly disappointed in Airborne, but for a single player WWII shooter Airborne is fantastic.

this game is garbage,if you base it on 82nd airborne combat jumps in wwII.
the only thing that is historically correct are the name's of the combat jumps. the rest is all wrong, the locations of the jumps, the 82nd did not jump into towns and cities that looked like factories. brothers in arms is a much more accurate game when it come down to history.. maybe EA can do a better job next time ..

  • The WWII franchise is over and this is the nail in the coffin!
    By AMAIS5H28IZXS on 2008-01-31
Hmm, where to begin. The graphics are incredibly awful, the so called drop where you want zones are geared in a way that you literally have only a small area to work with in landing.

So either you land on a building, close to the building or close to the smoke of the drop zone. Oh boy.

The ammo is scarce and the AI borders on mentally handicapped.

Your squad members are as useless as you are left wondering why they are even there other than to yell your name over and over and have you go in and clear all of the enemies out. Ridiculous, why have them? It is supposed to be a team, not one man and a glee club!

The enemy AI is either incredibly accurate and never miss, or they have no business holding weapons.

The recoil on the weapons is ridiculously flawed and the whole game feels like it was built on a good idea and pathetic production.

It is as if they got bored and decided to just throw it out to see if they could get some quick cash.

The only way to check your mission stats is to hit the escape key, it is just a stupid, stupid, stupid game.

The WWII franchise is played to death and overdone and EA is just showing just how pathetically bad they are at anything other than sports.

They screwed up Crysis, they screwed up Stalker, I mean is there anything EA can do right? Oh yeah, NBA or some other football type game...

The game sucks, EA sucks, just horrible and a waste of time.

Not too mention the game is 6 hours for 50 bucks? Is this the level of games now? Is this what these producers and developers are spending all this time making?

Gaming is starting to die in favor of going on-line for stupid multiplayer games that amount to a bunch of teenagers and 12 year olds using big boy words and cheating to have what they call fun.

    This game sucks...
