• Works good and a bargain

  As stated this is a Sony product in the original package. It appears well made and charges my Sony P1i phone. It actually has 2 lights. The first is a ready light on the 12 V plug end that indicates the charger is plugged into the adapter in your auto (it does not hurt the battery of my vehicle to keep this plugged in all the time). The second light is on the other end (that attaches to your Sony phone) and can be turned on or off. It is fairly bright and can be used as a flashlight.

  assuming you can find it discounted. The Sony MSRP for this is high but if you can find it for $10 or so it is a much better bet then the "no-name brand" versions. This charger has the two port pass though connector that allows you to use the hands free headset while charging. It also has a nifty led "map light" built in to the connector as a bonus feature. The plug is solid feeling and has inset grips making it easier to hold when inserting or removing. IT also has a green led indicator in the shpar of the Sony Erricson "swirl" logo. Overall it gives the impression of being a well made item.

  I ordered this car charger and was happy until I tried to use it. It doesn't work for a W580i at all. Sending it back will cost around $5.00 even if the company would take it back. The return policy is pathetic at best! After this purchase I will think hard about buying something from Amazon again.

  Quick delivery, but it worked only one time. Stopped after that. The cost of shipping was more than the charger, so I didn't send it back. I will buy the next one from a local store so I can bring it back without having to pay for it several times over.

  The first time I tried to plug this into my phone I was in my car and my phone battery was almost dead but I couldn't get it to plug in. I was having to press too hard to get it to click into place and I was afraid I was going to break my new phone. Later, sitting at my kitchen table I compared this plug to my home charger's plug. They aren't identical but extremely close so I decided to try again. I found that, with the "Sony Ericsson" label facing AWAY from me, the plug actually does snap into place and when I plugged it into my car the phone quickly told me that it was charging.
  
  Conclusion, I think I wasn't really used to the Sony Ericsson connectors but with a little trial and error I've gotten quite comfortable plugging this charger into my phone. It works well and I like the little light that you can switch on. Also, I wanted to be able to connect my head phone jack while the phone was charging so I like the pass-through feature. I like this charger and it does work with my W580i. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the difficulty I had learning how to plug it in, however, it may have been at least partly my fault.

  I bought this because I was tired of dealing with the cheap 3rd party car chargers I had to use because they didn't have Sony OEM car chargers at the AT&T store. So, I ordered this online with the memory card. It came sealed in the manufacturer's (Sony's) packaging. It was brand new.
  
  I love the clip, the little flashlight and power pass-through. The power pass-through is great because you can still attach other accessories to your phone and charge it at the same time. There's a clip, so you can clip it onto a map or some other place and there's a tiny (but very, very bright) LED flashlight built into the end, where you plug it into the phone. The cord is coiled like a telephone cable so it retracts out of the way when it's unattached.
  
  Overall, this is a great deal if you have a compatible phone. My wife has the W810i and I have the W580i and it works great with both of them.
  
  My only tiny gripe is that the green ready light (SE symbol) can be a bit too bright. I've solved this by a tiny square of black tape with a pinhole, so I can still see the light without it causing me night blindness.

  I received the charger in about 3 business days. It plugged in, lighted up and looked fine, until I plugged the phone in to charge. When I did, it stopped working completely within 10 seconds. I called Accessoryone and they immediately offered to send out a new one, which they did. It arrived within 3 days, worked fine right away and continues to work today without a hitch.

  My wife and I both have Sony Ericcson K790 phones and spend a lot of time on the road so it made sense to find a GOOD charger for the car. We ordered this OEM charger shortly after Christmas and received it very promptly in our UPS pmb.
  Having used various non OEM car chargers for other phones we have had we know the pitfalls of these ... short inflexible cords, short lifespans and generally not a great experience .... they work but not like the real thing. Not so with this beauty. It works GREAT. Good solid feel, indicator light to tell when it is plugged in, pass through base like most Sony accessories and a slick little "map light" make this a good buy.

  I'm extremely disappointed with this product. It worked for about 5 minutes, then nothing. I tested it in the other car's plug, also nothing. This device is dead and not coming back. Blown internal fuse, perhaps? I don't know. Also, right out of the package it looks like it has been used before, there was dirt in the seams of the plastic and there were marks on the body like it had been used in a car cigarette lighter already. At $7, it is too cheap to return. But this was probably the most expensive 5-minute cell phone charge ever.

  This car charger works, but not perfect. This is the second one I bought, the first one broke while rattling around in my truck. The phone side plug lost one of its clasping ears, likely broke off when it wedged next to a seat. The new one doesn't connect well to the phone and needs to be wiggled for connection. It may be the phone, but the home charger works fine.

  It seems to be about as good a car charger as any that I have owned. The construction seems fine. It charged my W580i quickly. I am not sure what else to say, it is a car charger. I didn't need one before I started using my bluetooth headset more. But, for the price, this seems like a fine solution.

  Nice car charger. Bought two and we use them with our W580i's. Includes a LED light and a clip so a passenger can use them to read a magazine or book while in the car at night. Only problem we had was the clips were broken on both of the chargers we received. Not sure if they came from a bad batch or what. I superglued them back on, and they seem to be ok now. Should not have had to do that, but I didn't buy them for the light anyway. The charger works as you would expect.

  This is just what you think it would be. Except for the little LED light on the side of the connector that connects to the phone. Turn the switch on and there is a map light that could be real handy at night. A nifty little feature that I hadn't seen mentioned in the description. Oh, it also works great to charge the phone, as advertised. The price was great. Very pleased with this purchase.

  I was a bit surprised when I opened the package for this charger as it was definitely not "retail packaged" as advertised. The mailing envelope contained an unsealed, flimsy plastic bag containing the charger. No documentation or any other information was included. I think the ad and the picture is misleading. So far the charger works just fine, although I've only used it once. It appears to remain "on" at all times as the green light stays lit under all conditions of cell phone and ignition status. Not sure if it is drawing power from my car battery all the time, but it seems likely.

  Have not had any problems. Use it to charge both my Sony Ericsson Z310a phone and a Sony Ericsson bluetooth Headset HBH-PV708. There is also a little bright light (switch activated) that could be used at night if needed.

  This is just a car charger? Well maybe, but it came with one very nice feature. There is an LED on the plug that is easily used to see the power jack on the side of the phone. Easy to plug in - in the dark. One small negative, there was a clip on the side of the charger that I was never able to figure out its purpose and I broke it the first time I touched it. It doesn't have any effect its use as a charger and I would buy another one just for the LED.
