Olympus OM Lens to Olympus 4/3 System Camera Body Adapterx
    (5 reviews)
Best Price: $48.95
Description This lens mount adapter allows a Olympus OM lens to fit on an Olympus E-Series 4/3-system camera body. Although the lens will fit physically, automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, or any other functions will not operate correctly while using this adapter. In this case "stop-down mode" will need to be used when metering since the lens does not have the ability to have its aperture controlled by the camera body. You can shoot with manual mode or aperture priority mode with E-Series body. Compatible with other digital SLR cameras using 4/3 lens systems such as Panasonic and Leica.

Generic OM adapters work By A3154RZHJMP24 on 2007-05-09
In addition to OM adapters made specifically for Olympus (which cost $99.99), there are generic adapters available. The OM adapter offered here by Amazon appears to be among the latter. I have two generic OM adapters that pretty much match this product description--and they work fine.
These OM adapters allow the use of Olympus 35mm lenses and other brands with OM 35mm mounts to be placed onto Olympus E- series digital cameras. Just set the camera to Aperture Priority, set the lens aperture and expect the only automatic feature to be metering the exposure. You have to focus the lens, just like the old days.
Depending on the focal length and optical design, the results are good, to very good to superb. Wide-angle lenses (24mm, for example) tend to show some image fuzziness and chromatic aberration (minor) at the extreme edges of the image frame at infinity focus. The Olympus F2.8 35mm lens works very well. Normal to telephoto lenses (50mm on up) work better, with excellent image resolution to edge of image frame.
Exposures made with 35mm film lenses on Olympus digital cameras usually come out fine when the camera is set to -1/3 EV and when metering includes much of the sky. Infinity focus will most likely not match the original marks on the lens focus ring, so some new point has to be determined by experimentation or the use of Mode B in live view (nice Olympus feature on the E-300, E-500, E-330 and future E-series digital cameras). Once the infinity focus point is found and marked (or remembered), it is a pleasure to manually and reliably focus the lens by just setting it to the new infinity point (when shooting landscapes). For wide angle lenses, there isn't much adjustment needed for focusing on nearer objects. Focusing 35mm lens on Olympus digital cameras by using the view finder is possible, but not very easy--so determining various focus points ahead of time for each lens is worthwhile.
The adapters I have attach firmly and smoothly to the lens and to the camera body and can be removed easily. Old Olympus 35mm lenses are available on Ebay for relatively modest prices and these adapters give them renewed life in a digital age.
Final note: All the OM adapters I have used for Olympus lenses allow the lens to reach infinity focus and go right on past it a little. This is OK. You need to be able to focus to infinity at least. If the adpter doesn't allow your lenses to even reach infinity focus, consider the adapter unsatisfactory and send it back.
Olympus works 4/3 adapter ring works great. By A27WJ77173IG8D on 2007-10-22
Fits well and connects your OM lens to the 4/3 body. Product is as described and much less of an investment when compared to the brand name product.
OM to 4/3 Adapter By A2QIWWB7OD2O78 on 2008-04-18
This unit works fine and costs less than half of what the Olympus store was charging. This is a very cost effective solution for utilizing one's OM lens with the new digital camera bodys.
Works perfectly, fits snug (that's a good thing in photography) By A37GBE9OL2PQ69 on 2008-08-27
Don't hesitate to purchase this adapter. I've been making some great shallow DOF images with my old OM 50mm 1.8. Put your camera on aperture priority, turn on your live view and up the on-screen magnification for spot-on focusing.
dont miss it By A2JHPEY4BQT6BS on 2008-09-01
It fits to the DSL camera and there is a few destortion when you take photos. It is excellent
