  • Great value!

    By A2HD1MR39Y1EML on 2007-11-16
This projector is a very good choice for home entertainment as well as work in an office or in the lab [my case]. It is very bright even when operated in economy mode. The self adjusting feature is very good, like for instance the auto keystone. The menu is easy to navigate, and efficient. The lamp is good, and cheap. The projector is quiet, and doesn't get too hot while operating. The cover lid for the lamp is a good extra. The machine is light and very easy to carry with the provided bag.

The remote could be bigger with bigger buttons. The VGA cable is rather short but can be replaced with a 10ft super-VGA shielded video cable for about $20.

In essence, a must buy! Clear, bright and sharp images/videos at a very reasonable price. I had a DELL projector before and I regret I didn't trust EPSON to begin with!

  • Very Light, Very Bright

    By A39Y2RV2O31IBK on 2008-03-20
This is an incredible, very light, very bright projector. No setup time required except to take it out of the box and point it at the wall. Comes with its own shoulder carry case, which is appreciated, because I saw reviews of other projectors that did not come with a case. I hooked up my computer to it and projected it in a sun-drenched office with the fluorescent lights on, and it was still bright as a television set. Therefore I look forward to giving presentations without dimming the lights. I expected to pay 300 more for a projector of this quality.

  • Great projector, great price

    By ATIDUKLFXF8UO on 2007-10-27
What a great machine! Works great with computer, VCR, or DVD player. Easy to set up, run, and adjust on the fly. My wife and I watch movies at home using the projector, which creates a huge view on our white living room wall - we don't even need to have a screen! Strongly recommended, but shop around for a good price.

  • Epson Powerlite 77c 2200 lumens

    By AVMD09GXBMZDN on 2007-09-19
I have been using my Epson Powerlite 77c for a month now as a high school history teacher. It is a great product. Its brightness is tremendous with 2200 lumens. Battery life is about 1000 hours longer than the typical projector and the features on the menu are very user friendly. On top of this, it was cheap relative to other projectors. For an educator it has done the job and some. It is light, comes is an easily accessible case, and easy to set up (2 minutes).

  • Superb!

    By AAYEBFDRIRJLK on 2007-10-03
I have found this item to be everything it claims to be: easy to use, full of helpful features, and a much brighter image that many more expensive projectors. I particularly like the relatively light weight, and the sliding shutter that allows the user to immediately dim the image with the projector going into a "stand-by" mode that takes forever to recover from. Works well with both Mac and PC!

  • Beautiful Color, Easy to Use, Economical
    By A1LMNZNOMBMMAG on 2008-03-23
I make my living from selling my scenic photography at the National Parks. I wanted a projector for doing slide shows of my work. I went to Fry's to the projector section and looked at all the projected images without paying any attention to price or projector, just the projected images and then when I decided which image looked the best, I looked to see what projector was projecting that image and it was the Epson 77c. A couple of weeks later I went to a Fry's in another city and did the same thing and I chose the Epson 77c again, which convinced me that it had the best color and contrast. While a DLP projector will have a much higher contrast ratio specification I did not find that the image they project looked as good as the one from the Epson 77c.

I used my Epson 77c at a trade show recently to display video at my booth and even on the economy setting it was more than bright enough to allow me to have a big screen display that matched my other computer displays in my booth. It is much brighter than I expected, even on the low range. I gave a slide show and after the show we realized that we had forgotten to turn out the lights. The Epson 77c was so bright we just didn't notice!

I went to Fry's a week or so ago and did the same test. There were a couple of projectors that projected brighter images that had at least as good color and contrast as my 77c. When I checked to see what they were I discovered that they were the more expensive models in the same Epson 3LCD line of projectors as the 77c. If money is not an issue you might want to consider the PowerLite 1715c, which is brighter and smaller, but is about twice as expensive and the light bulbs don't last as long.

The bulbs for digital projectors are quite expensive. Compared to other brands, the Epson 3LCD bulbs are a bargain at $184. The DLP bulbs I looked at were in the $400 range. The Epson 77c gets 4000 hours out of a bulb on the low power setting and 3000 on the high setting. My Epson 77c is nearly silent on the low range and very quiet on the high setting.

I am very happy with my 77c and the manager of at least one location where I gave a slide show ordered one for their location from Amazon the next day. I would highly recommend this product.

this product is not bad. have great functions and could fit any office or home user. one issue with the product is that you can not tell how many hours left of the current bulb. so do not buy a used one.

  • Great Projector
    By A17ASON3NI5FIK on 2008-02-08
Bought this for the classroom. First of all this is a very bright projector. I operate it in low brightness mode (to get the maximum bulb life) and the prsentations are still very bright in a well illuminated classroom. The picture is crisp at 1024 x 768. The auto settings mean that I have not had to adjust anything. I use it with a SmartBoard and it deals with any type of media presentation that I throw at it. At the end of the day the best feature is the very quick switch off with fanless cool down. I have used several different brands of projector and this is the best so far.

  • Photo Club Review
    By A1PTNWXNU3IFZF on 2007-12-21
This is the best projector we've used, but it isn't perfect. Even with all of the color corrections possible using the menu system, photos don't come out exactly as seen on the monitor. Start up and shut down are easy. The menu works easily and well.
For the price, it is very acceptable.

  • Epson Powerlite 77c
    By A2VDMBUMOT6WPR on 2008-03-18
I just received my Epson projector and have had the chance to use it on two occations. It lives up to my expectations for a convenient and inexpensive high quality projector. We put a movie on it through our laptop and could view a 6 foot by 4 foot image with good quality resolution. I have still yet to see the resolution through my DVD player. The quick shut-off is an excellent time saving feature. A friend of ours has another brand that takes about 20 minutes to cool down, what a pain! The set-up was a breeze as well, literally just plug it in follow the directions and bam your up and running. I also purchased a screen through Amazon and found that to be excellent as well. The best thing of all was the prompt and inexpensive delivery! Others I have tried wanted $164 for shipping(paid $19.95) for the screen that costs $120! What are they thinking! Amazon is great! Thank you.

  • Great colours, a little bit noisy
    By A1G5XR4L3UCK3Q on 2008-03-17
The colors and image quality are great on the VGA input from the computer. The fan is a bit noisy. The label says it supports component video input but you need an extra cable that is $100 more. Also the cable has a male input instead of female so it wont work right away with your ps3/xbox component cable.

  • Outstanding Projector
    By A8XP3DUQNI9J7 on 2008-03-25
The Epson Powerlite 77c is the best projector on the market for the price. You can't beat the combination of 2200 lumens and XGA resolution for under $600. I own a sales training and consulting company and use it for all of my training programs. Even in daylight conditions it is bright and I have not had any problems with my attendees being able to see my power point presentation.

NOTE: I have not used it yet for viewing videos or movies but my previous projector (Epson S1 Lite) did an adequate job (and it had only 1500 lumens with SVGA resolution).

  • An outstanding projector for my classroom
    By A10I9X4VQW5I16 on 2008-04-19
I got this projector for my 8th grade classroom about a month ago and I am thrilled with it. It is bright enough to use with a window-shade open to allow students to take notes during presentations. The images are crisp and the colors remain true to those on my computer. I have projected from my laptop, a dvd player and from a vcr, using a variety of input jacks and all have been more than satisfactory. I took it to a conference and it was light and easy to set up. I would wholeheartedly recommend it for classroom use.

  • 77c 2200
    By A3L4Y6T3Q6Q1OW on 2007-12-28
Used it twice. So far has no problem using it. All projectors are heat producer.
When finish using it, may need to let it cool down prior to putting back into the bag/carry-on nylon case.
Price is affordable relatively. Resolution is about right (if native resolution can be one level up, say, 1600 by 1200 then it would have been ideal)

  • Excellent quality in this price point.
    By A20S12VSQW5XN0 on 2007-11-19
This is a very nice projector for the money. Color fidelity is good, brightness is good on economy setting in a lit room (ours is 3.1m from screen). Triple LCD gives a nice flicker free, rainbow free image. Epson is a good brand.

  • Excelent. Bright Image; easy set up and installation
    By A2K854GNCNDTM9 on 2007-10-24
I highly recommend this product. Very easy to use and install and it has a very good image quality and definition!

  • Light, easy, and good picture
    By A2AOF3PEKEYH8R on 2008-02-08
Great projector! It was so easy to set up, it's very light weight, comes in a convenient carrying case, works with Mac or PC, and good quality picture. The day after I got it, I did a presentation for 60 people, and it went off without a hitch.

  • East to Set Up
    By A3FBXZA5H33K1Z on 2008-05-13
I am a klutz when it comes to setting up electronic equipment. However, I had no trouble with connecting this projector to my Dell laptop and showing a PowerPoint presentation on a screen. The projector was extremely well packed, and comes with a handy carrying case. The quick set-up guide is easy to follow. I really like some of the features of the projector: (1) quick on and quick off, (2) a door that slides over the lens to block the light when needed, (3) an easy-to-use foot to adjust the height of the projector, (4) simple buttons that adjust the top or bottom width of the projection, when because of the angle, it is not a perfect rectangle. Overall, a really nice product.

The only thing that threw me for a minute is I had to push two function keys on my Dell laptop to get it to project the slides through the projector. However, the help button on the projector brought up a help menu and told me exactly what buttons to push on various laptops. Neat.

  • Lite and Bright
    By A2MSBK4RV5IKVD on 2008-05-09
I selected the Epson Powerlite 77c for its XGA capability, a long life lamp, its ability to zoom, and the affordable price. My first impression was the projector's weight, I found it pleasently lite. I like the slidding lens cover, assuring me the lens is always protected.

Thank you Epson for making a projector that lights up quickly and having a simple menu control. I was operating the projector right out of the box without refering to the instruction manual. It puts out a bright and sharp picture. I can project on to a 4 x 8 screen from only 10 feet away. The only concern I have is the limited zoom range, I still find myself moving the projector to acquire full coverage on the screen.

Over all it's a Great product Epson !

My experience with this product has been nothing but positive, it arrived on time and it works wonderfully. I give the service 4 stars.

  • Very Nice Projector
    By A3PQZF44CBFNYG on 2007-12-18
I purchased the Epson 77c Multimedia Projector for use at my investment club meetings. Its performance is outstanding. The powerpoint presentations and web downloads are crisp and clear. Combine this with the no hassle straight forward Amazon ordering and shipping makes me a very satisfied customer.

  • impressed.
    By A1LPKKMIPSFLHU on 2008-04-06
We brought this to view dvd of my son's life for a party to celebrate his confirmation at a restaurant. The picture quality was impressive. I was going to use this just for get togethers like birthdays and holidays. But I came away so impress with the quality that I'm thinking of using it for watching movies. I'm sure you can get better quality if you spend more money but this was fine with me.

  • Great product!
    By A3U5HI4J8QK8HM on 2008-05-19
Before buying this projector, I did a lot of research and tried several other projectors as well. The most impressive one to me is Dell 4100MP which is out of production. I think this projector is amazing in this price range. It has very good image quality, vivid color, very very low or almost no noise, amazingly low heat. Notice that for some 'better' projectors, noise and heat can be the problems.

You may have noticed this projector has very low contrast. Yes this projector's image is not as sharp as some other projectors with higher contrasts, but this differece is really ok for me though I was so worried about the contrast before buying it.

Now I realize that brightness is more important than contrast. This projector is still not bright enough, so I have to keep the room dark to get better image quality. So if you can afford a more expensive projector, make sure the brightness is over 2000 lumen and the contrast is over 1000 (2000 should be ideal). Also be aware of the heat problem, because you expect to use your projector every season, don't you?

By the way, I haven't bought a projector screen, so the performance was evaluated on the wall... But I am already pretty satisfied with it.

  • Digital Projector for my Photo Classes
    By AZQFUIVA140YF on 2008-05-20
After reading a variety of reviews, including those on Amazon, I bought this to show my Beginning Digital Photo classes how to work with digital images in PhotoShop and PhotoShop Elements.

Setup was a matter of hooking up the cables and turning on my laptop. The projection is plenty bright for computer screen reading, even in a moderately bright room. For photo editing, no surprise, the room needs to be pretty dark. ( I can't imagine any projector being so bright that photos would be really good in a light room! ) I'm projecting an 8 foot width, which works fine for my class size. All icons and text are plenty legible.

The class, ranging from young to retired, are all very impressed with the image quality (and my photos ([...] ), of course!).

We've also watched a couple DVD's with it at home, which worked very well. My son had to try some games, so he hooked up his Xbox, and spent a couple hours playing his favorites on a 12 foot wall. This also worked very well, he wasn't altogether pleased when I took it back.

I also recommended this model to our local library, for use in one of the community meeting rooms.

I can't imagine a nicer projector for the money.

  • Excellent Projector
    By A3NIOHCQ8QZS50 on 2008-08-05
I was asked to buy a new projector to use in a classroom setting. We had been using an earlier model of the Epson (sorry, I can't recall the name or number of the model), and we were pleased with the picture and its reliability. After reading the reviews on Amazon, I decided to purchase this model. The classroom receives partial daylight through the windows, so we felt it was important to have a projector that delivered a sharp, crisp image. We are very pleased with the picture, which is superior to that of the older model of the Epson. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a low cost projector to use in a classroom setting.

  • top notch projector
    By ASYIK2I2C0XUF on 2008-03-28
This little projector is A+. It's small, light, powerful, and does a great job. And most importantly, it's one of the least expensive. I rate it tops.

  • Good from the beginning
    By ALQQLJS79VXR7 on 2008-04-14
I projected in my wall, and voila..it was brigth..and nice.
I like also the way it was designed! look very expensive but it is not. remote is quite annoying, but I dont use it all the time!

  • Great machine for the money!
    By AQCDVMMGZ4LP9 on 2008-06-16
While this is not the most expensive video projector on the market - it is more than adequate to meet the needs of most small businesses. It is not the smallest or lightest - but the price... you cannot fault it. Easy use of controls on the machine - the remote is a bit oversized with small buttons - but that works for us - as we have lost several remotes in the past that were postage stamp size because different people use them. The cost of the replacement bulb at under $200 is a big plus - my advice is to buy a spare and keep in stock. Colors are great and it is bright enough for room lit showing of presentations. Excellent buy for the money.

  • Solid performer.
    By A1DZQNO4KRT3I5 on 2008-06-26
This is an excellent medium priced projector that provides a very bright image, visible in rooms that cannot be darkened totally. The colors on the screen compare favorably with what I see on my Apple laptop, a number of other projectors I tried failed this important requirement. The unit is lightweight and compact, it travels well. My only concern is the high temperature, it is important not to block any of the ventilation vents The projector displays a warning message if overheating. So far I am very pleased with my choice.

  • Good Investment
    By A1ZAPK31DZDOTM on 2008-06-30
Good picture quality even in high light areas, quick start-up and I love the quick shut down option

The replacement bulbs are also reasonably priced. Good device for the money, a little more bulky than some but I'll take it to get the extra lumens.
