Great processor! By ADAASOYZ1TOMW on 2007-08-08
This processor just arrived from Intel and it is fantastic. Intel recently had a round of price drops on their new line of processor's. At 2.66ghz per core, you can do multiple things without lag. This processor was one of the first to introduce the new 1333 front side bus as well. Highly recommend if you are looking to build your own computer. Stay away from the 6600 and the 6700, they are older models and the new 6*50 models are the one's that you want because the price is cheaper and they have a faster front side bus.
Was The Best CPU By A20BF8O0IHTYXY on 2008-01-29
E6750 was the best Intel CPU with terrific price/performance ratio. It outperforms the infamous E6600 and easily outshines Q6600 in gaming area.
With Intel's aggressive marketing plan this year, E6750 is replaced by its own brother E8400.
E8400, code name Wolfdale, is a 45nm Core product. Several tests have already revealed that E8400 performs better, consume less power and is way cooler. (good for overclocking.) I fully understand this review is about E6750 not about promoting E8400. However, when you look at the price, you have to compare them together.
As of today, you can get E6750 retail box for $187 from Amazon. Surprisingly, add two dollars more, you can get a retail boxed E8400 (before tax though.)
What it means is you're no longer paying less money for the best performance if you choose E6750. This might upset E6750 die hard fans but technology is a cruel world. And you definitely don't want to end up paying older technology with the same money you can get a newer one.
One last thing. Many people are wondering E6750 vs. Q6600. Here's how to make your choice.
If you're a gamer, do NOT touch Q6600. You won't see any gain for those dollars you invested. In reality, you might experience performance loss.
If you're doing a lot video/movie editing, you might want go extra miles to acquire Q6600. In this case, you will feel great for the extra $80 you invested.
Supreme Power. By A1GYV840S4BJ15 on 2007-09-04
I have this processor working at 3.4Ghz with the stock cooler, and the temp it's around 45C at full load, if you don't have enough for a E6850, this is the second best choice.
Very and I mean very fast CPU, but box cooler is awful! By A3GTSRJK7RB4S2 on 2007-09-09
I changed my AMD X2 4200+ platform with this CPU, this processor is fast, really fast! But intel should change box cooler, it's just terrible!
Other thoughts: should have bought OEM version without a cooler.
Intel is back. Did you ever have a doubt? By A2HAP9A9OMBDU4 on 2007-12-08
After a brief stint playing second fiddle to AMD, Intel is back on top with its new line of Core 2 multiple core processors. Not going to say much that hasn't already been stated so this review will be short.
This particular processor is awesome! I selected it at the time over the quad core simply because of power consumption of being 65nm. I run my computer 24/7 and didn't really want to pay the added cost for the Quad. I'll reconsider when desktop versions of the 45nm core come out.
Back to the processor, I highly recommend it. If you want to run it at the stock speed, the processor performs well. If you want to overclock it for more performance, then this thing screams! (Relatively speaking of course)
- Best Processor ever
     By A1R1BFJCMWX0Y3 on 2007-11-27
Even if you aren't a gamer it's worth the little extra money to step up from the 6320 to the 6750. I can not believe how fast this processor is. Best money spent on a computer.
- Excellent overclocker
     By A14LCSIV87ZE66 on 2008-01-30
this processor is able to handle serious overclocking
from a core clock of 2.66GHz to 3.2Ghz core temps drops 1 degree
from 2.66GHz to 3.8GHz core temp rises 4 degrees
*all temps were under full core load using watercooling*
- Not compatible with all PCS
     By A28JRU65P3IE7N on 2008-06-14
I was so bummed when I opened my chassis and saw that my motherboard was not compatible with this sweet piece of hardware. I had to go to the website enclosed in the user manual to verify that my motherboard was not compatible with this processor. I wish the information had been available on the product page because when it said compatible with all PC's I believed it. The disappointment was ultra lame! Just be sure to verify compatibility before you buy.
- Great processor
     By A1PKVIV84TME6U on 2008-01-18
I built my friend a new computer system using this processor and it works very well. The 1333Mhz bus speed makes this thing scream. I would highly recommend it to any new system builder.
- Fast, great bang for the buck
     By A1FHTRMZMT35FW on 2008-01-27
This is a great processor - but of course that's a relative thing, as new and faster processors are coming out all the time. So, the 5-star rating is really based on bang for the buck. At the time of purchase, this was the fastest Intel Core 2 Duo before a big price jump. Also, these "xx50" series processors have a higher Front Side Bus speed than the "xx00" series processors, so they perform better even if the overall clock speeds are the same. In any case, this processor is highly recommended. I bought it for a gaming PC in which I've also put 2 GB DDR2 800 MHz RAM and a GeForce 8800 GT 512 MB. The machine performs really well.
- Core2Duo E6750
     By A1BIY7DN9HZA5D on 2007-12-18
This thing is great! Not only has it improved my startup speed, it also now lets Norton AV run while I watch or work with the many pictures I edit daily! I love this thing. Now all I need to do is upgrade my RAM and BAMMMMMM!
- Super fast CPU on windows Vista
     By A3V3RX8OT98IJV on 2008-01-08
I love this cpu, no hassle no overclock needed. I am using it with Intel board DG33TL and 2G memory. It's excellent.
- More than worth it
     By A2MR8CFNR53EVR on 2008-01-12
I bought this for PC gaming because I've read reviews that it could overclock much better than its predecessor. I've found that to be true as I've overclocked it from 2.66Ghz to 3.2Ghz without breaking a sweat. It could probably do more, but it'd be more processing power than I need right now.
So the bottom line is that if you're looking for a fast processor that's relatively inexpensive then this is it for you.
- Already got it...
     By A2UWTGDL3Y9PNN on 2008-01-15
Ecellent CPU! Beats a q6600 in most bench marks, but up-and-coming games will like to have a quad core CPU soon, but for now you can't beat this for the price.
- Good Value
     By A1KMO0WBNMH4BG on 2008-05-09
This it's a powerful cpu, with a good price. I've a sense of speed in my computer. If your motherboard don't support the new 45nm processor this is a good choice
