Perfect! By A34WE9KSHMTQUW on 2008-03-03
I love this dock! I have an Apple MacBook Pro 17" and an HP nx6125 that I use with this dock and a laptop stand, plus my mouse/keyboard/printer & 19" Acer monitor. to be clear, I work in Windows OS with my MB Pro...
I just plug the usb cable into whichever laptop I'm using, and I'm connected to all the peripherals. I haven't had any issues with having to adjust settings each time....
The best thing with this dock is, because I use both my laptop screen and the Acer LCD monitor together (the monitor is supplemental to the laptop monitor), i can use the "Dual View" setting on this dock, which makes both monitors into one landscape. This means I can have certain documents/aps open on one screen while i work on something else on the other screen. It's AWESOME!
and if for some reason you want each monitor to display the same thing (i.e. "clone" view), then you just press the button on the front of the dock and it automatically & quickly makes the change. And you can switch back by pressing it again.
There's a USB port on the front of the dock for easy access(plus 4 in the back).
I love this dock, and it's perfect for me because I have two different makes of laptops.
Not Vista friendly By A32WHOBNLF5F3F on 2008-01-27
Just moved to a new laptop (ACER 7720) and was excited about using this. Problem is that once you set it up just how you like it, the settings don't save. That is, I had to change all the settings every time I rebooted so that it would work correctly with my external monitor. I contacted Kensington via email and all they could say was that this product is incompatible with my notebook and to return it ... so i did.
Video won't work with some popular notebooks By A253HWKPVKI9U6 on 2008-03-18
Hooking up my new Sony Vaio notebook, everthing worked, except my external monitor. The Kensington driver (I downloaded their latest version) would only display at a low, fuzzy resolution and caused several critical programs to repeatedly crash. Without video functionality, I might as well use a simple USB hub and directly connect my monitor to the notebook, which is what I am now doing. I returned the docking station to the store.
Excellent Product! By A3JNA8WB4XH3JW on 2008-08-08
I love the Kensington Dock! I utilize this with my 15" MB Pro and Dell 6600 and both work flawlessly. I have no issues with re-booting and/or having to reset. Simple set-up and easy to use the dock has made utilizing my work space so much easier! Awesome product which I highly recommend! AAA+
Better than my OEM Dock! By A2IVFNW2LGO8G on 2008-08-14
It's so easy to plug the usb cable into my notebook and voila! I'm connected to my mouse/keyboard, printer & lcd monitor. And when i take my laptop out of my office, there's just one usb connection to unplug.
Fast & simple!
Only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the resolution only supports a 19" lcd monitor.
