    (9 reviews)
Best Price: $39.99
This lovable little Rescue Pet acts just like a real puppy - he really drinks water, burps, then lifts his leg and wets! He even chews on his bone and does tricks when you blow the whistle. Train him to "sit" and "stand" on command. Requires 4 "AA" batteries, not included. Measures 11.5" tall. The next time your child thinks they are seriously ready for a puppy, but you aren’t convinced, try "adopting" this adorable Rescue Pet. The soft, furry friend has a lot of similarities to a real puppy, but without the hard consequences if responsibilities aren’t met. The Train and Play Puppy from MGA drinks water, burps, and even lifts his leg to relieve himself. | | A bone, training mat, feeding bottle, and, of course, adorable puppy are all included. | Responsibilities include feeding the puppy with the bottle, training him to learn commands like "sit" or "stand," and making sure that he uses the included mat when going to the bathroom. If he does the latter, the mat will turn blue, alerting kids when it needs to be dried off for its next use. The puppy also comes with a small bone, and will lay down and gnaw on it when it’s given to him. Training can be done verbally or through sound. Clap once or say the word "sit" to watch the doggy sit on his haunches. Clap again or say "stand" and the pup will rise on all fours. There are even commands to make him "speak." Buying this useful toy for kids also teaches them the joy of charity, as a portion of the proceeds of each Rescue Pet sold is donated to a recognized animal rescue center. Train and Play Puppy comes with an adoption certificate that owners can fill out and register. You can visit Rescue-Pets.com for more information and details. Four AA batteries are required, but not included.

Rescue Pet Train and Play Puppy disappointed daughter By A3J0OXKB92R0HA on 2007-12-26
My six year old daughter only wanted a couple of items for Christmas and this was on the top of her list. She was so excited when she opened the Rescue pet and everything worked except for function she was excited about----the fact that the dog would pee after feeding him a bottle of water. She was very disappointed and we went out to find another on December 26, 2007, but they are no where to be found. On the positive site, it is very cute the way the dog barks, sits up, and responds to the clapping of your hands. We will continue to look for a replacement Rescue Pet, and will try one last time to see if we can get one that functions properly.

Fun and cute By AAFPGLT99GF8E on 2007-12-27
I always dread my kids getting any toy that you insert liquid into, for obvious reasons. However, this toy is great. It follows commands, and it gives an alarm that it is about to pee, so you can have the mat ready. The mat is not very absorbant, so have a towel handy. The mat dries quickly. My 3-year old loves it!
Best Christmas gift received!! By A3TBRFWCJ0ZWOK on 2007-12-29
My son-in-law just called from Germany to tell me that the "peeing puppy" was the absolute hit of all the gifts anyone got!! My granddaughter just turned 4 and all her friends come to visit just the play with her peeing puppy. Yea!!!
Cute and fun but had problems out of the box By A2YE8LAW3LS872 on 2007-12-30
This puppy was #1 on my son's Christmas wish list. It does stand and sit and all that great stuff. However, the most exciting function (to my son) failed to work. Despite multiple attempts we were unable to get the puppy to drink water. Although the puppy would lift his leg, since he didn't drink water there was no pee. Since my son was most excited about the pee, we've been pretty disappointed by this toy.
The puppy has soft fur and a cute face. The bark is cute, and not too loud. Due to the hard battery back in the body of the dog it isn't very cuddly (you wouldn't want to sleep with it). It comes packaged in a ton of cardbaord and plastic with tape and those awful wire ties and such. Be prepared for a struggle just to get the toy out of the box.
The puppy is now being shipped back to Santa (aka Amazon) for replacement. Hopefully we'll have better luck with the second one.
