  • A useful addition to your Wii collection

    By A2SZRY5TFW27TR on 2008-06-01
For the price, this sports pack cannot be beat. It is a useful and almost necessary add-on for any Wii system.

The baseball bat, tennis racket, and golf club share the same handle. The Wii controller fits into the handle. The handle screws onto each attachment. The protective clear cover on the controller must be removed first.

The baseball bat makes hitting much more fun. It's made of a lightweight plastic so it isn't even close to the weight of a real bat. (Which is a good thing for your TV). I still found myself assuming a batter's stance and following through on my swing. Oh, the controller must be removed during pitching. Not a big deal since it just slides out of the handle.

The tennis racket is sorely needed. It makes the tennis game much more fun. Stepping into forehand and backhand shots feels realistic. The racket was so much fun that I now play 5-6 games each time I fire up the Wii.

The golf club is nice but very short. I wish it had a little more length to it. Controller is about 2ft fully extended. Perhaps attaching a weight to the club head might help.

Haven't tried the steering wheel. Can say that the Wii controller sits in the middle of the steering wheel.

  • Ok, but I had higher expectations

    By A1AZIP21HF6KXR on 2007-08-31
Not a bad product at all, just not great. The tennis raquet is the best for parties with the added lights. Of course you have to buy two packages.
I have not had luck using these toys for anything other than the exact sport they were designed for. Admittedly I thought my son could use the baseball bat like a sword in Zelza. Also you can't just leave the WiiMote in the toy because you have to take it out to setup the game each time.
It seems like they could have designed most of them with a cutout at the end of the Wiimote so you could navigate around before the game starts.

  • Just OK... In fact not so good.

    By A2B6Z5KDD4LVJA on 2008-06-03
The hole that passes the wrist strap is too narrow for the original Nintendo wrist strap which has wide latch.
The remote does not feel well secured in the handle.
The silly tennis racket light feature needs two AAA batteries, but the battery door is so flimsy that the batteries fly off from hard swings!
Of course the remote infrared receiver is completely blocked.
The clear cover does not hold on the remote at all and falls off.

  • Steering Wheel doesn't work

    By A9ZD1Q8GYY3K2 on 2008-10-06
My husband received this sports pack for his birthday. The first thing we tried to use was the steering wheel...we had another one made by Nintendo and we wanted to play Mario Kart together.

We were sad to see that the Steering Wheel does not work -- there is no cutout for the sensor at the end of the Wii remote to communicate with the game! It completely blocks the signal from the remote! You would think they would have noticed this...The Nintendo steering wheel, however, works fantastic.

  • Love the Wii Accessories for Gameplay!

    By A29IU2X6V4HEBU on 2008-10-19
We purchased the Wii Grand Slam Sports Pack despite some reviewers saying you had to remove the remote to access various functions or change games, etc.

We quickly discovered that you do not need to use the infra red control with the bat, tennis racket etc. All you have to do is use the "buttons" (left, right, up, down, A, B, etc.) on the remote after it is put into the bat, racket, wheel, golf club and you can change games, players, start new game, etc. Very very cool. The Sports pack has added a whole new dimension to our gameplay. We have so much more fun now batting the ball, playing "intense" tennis matches, golfing, racing... the accessories make you feel more like you are playing the real game. Although I must agree with one reviewer who mentioned they wish the golf club was a bit longer. Considering the length of the bat and tennis racket, I don't know why they made the golf club so short, but still makes golf more fun than just using the remote (has not helped my "wicked-slice" however.... ).

You do have to remove the remote from the accessory handle when you want to return to main menu to end for the day, but all you really have to do is "tilt" the remote up at the end and that is it!

Again, We (the entire family and extended family are having the time of our lives with the Wii Grand Slam Sports Pack! I highly recommend this to anyone who has a Wii. You won't be sorry. Just play around with the buttons on the remote to control the various game options (start, stop, players, number of players, levels, etc.) and you will have a great time!

  • Not really needed.
    By A3I5700DTVWV54 on 2008-10-24
I purchased 2 of these back when my wife and I bought our Wii. After playing with the sports pack for a while, we got kind of tired of it. Switching the controllers in and out was annoying, and, as other reviewers have mentioned, it's impossible to set the game up with the remote in some of the equipment (like the tennis racket). We have found the game to be much more enjoyable WITHOUT the sports pack. I wouldn't bother wasting your money on this one, personally...

This set is a great value for money. You don't really need the sports accesories in order to play, but it enhances the game experience overall and children get a better sense of how it may be in real life (particularly with baseball and golf)

A great concept, but we didn't like the wheel as much as the Nintendo wheels for racing. Just doesn't feel the same.

I love having these attachments, they allow for a better feeling of playing the game.

  • Sports Pack Family Fun
    By A3IKCBZTZO57M9 on 2008-07-31
The product was exactly as advertised and the family has enjoyed all of the accessories for the Wii.

  • Family Fun
    By A1Z8ZCR729E64E on 2008-04-26
The grand slam sports pack is great. The whole family enjoys using it. Now we spend alot of family time together while playing and exercising. When ordering the pack the information given was great and the pack came in perfect condition and it didn't take long to receive it.

  • Not convenient
    By A1QQ8NXGZUOEH0 on 2008-07-13
The sports pack can be fun, but there is only one handle for the three game options, so every time you change game you have to unscrew the handle and screw it back to the other attachement. If you have two players you will need two sports pack!

  • Makes the game better, one phrase: Just right for the price.
    By A2OCTI17RXVHXK on 2008-07-20
Great for the games that come with the wii console and I am happy with the overall price for the product.

  • A product whose very existence frustrates.
    By A3IG2JTB39X5SH on 2008-08-08
What can one say about a product that doesn't actually DO anything? It certainly isn't surprising to see companies like this taking advantage of the market when a family-centric console like the Wii comes along, but it is still frustrating.

Bottom line: this product doesn't actually add any functionality to the Wiimote. It simply attempts to make it look like the peripheral more appropriate for the sport being played. If that thrills you, then go for it. If not, your money will be better spent simply investing in another Wiimote and nunchuck.

  • Wasn't too impressed
    By A3FT3VJXWD9CW6 on 2008-08-31
I found a similar product at Costco but choose this one because of the price. Of course, being cheaper it really shows. Everything is miniature compared to the brand marketing by Nintendo and hard plastic vs. a softer version. Had I purchased these at a store, I would have returned them; now we're stuck with them.

  • Fun for all
    By A3PZKWJ0DTFYNV on 2008-07-28
Adding these to the Wii made the games much more fun for us to play. We really get into the fun and are getting a nice workout in some spare time while having fun as well.

I enjoy all the purchases from Amazon but was not happy with one item from someone else the sports pack is really cool we all like to use it and it gets the family together

    By A1GRELGLSSARIO on 2008-09-06
In this pack the bat and tennis racket are fun to use. The racket lights up and the bat helps you hold your position better. The golf club is pretty flimsy and the wheel is really small. I am happy with this purchase because it was the right price for what it is and my kids love using all the attachments.

  • Why bother?
    By A20EZ7E8WUH2GZ on 2008-09-17
I bought 2 sets of these attachments. I couldn't get the golf clubs to work so I haven't tried the others. Actually you can do the stuff with just the wiimote. I'm going to try some of the others again but I already think the sports pack is more trouble than it's worth.

  • Okay
    By A3RE1TRQ3SOAKN on 2008-05-20
It is kind of a pain to be changing to different things (raquet to bat, etc.) It also causes fights over who gets to use the racquet when playing with more than one person. It is normally easier not to play with them to stop the fights.

  • Don't bother.
    By AKJ8MCGUV4WOM on 2008-06-15
I thought this would simulate the sport games better, but they don't. Tennis has blue light. Others are iffy, at best.

  • HATE WII 6 in 1 sport pack
    By A20OFG8ICEYKYJ on 2008-07-08
took over a week to arrive and that is with prime. Should have expected the MAJOR disapointment. The wiimote is not even able ot be read in the cheap wheel. There is not a hole for the lazor to shoot through. BIG BIG DISAPOINTMENT. Do not waste the money.

The golf club and baseball bat helped me to play better when playing Tiger Woods Tour 07 and also several baseball games on my Wii.

  • Very Bad communication
    By A19IFSX8JUPC4T on 2008-09-10
This Wii Grand Slam Sports Pack was really bad.
That didn't communicate with WII player.
Anymore, I didn't use this one.

    Useless!

  • Made in china - cheap and worthless!
    By AHW4M01LY4O0A on 2008-11-05
This looked like the perfect addition to our Wii. We discovered immediately that it is not even made by the same manufacturer as Wii and is not put together well at all! The controller and pool stick do not line up so do not work together. The bat does not screw on to the remote holding piece properly. We didn't even try the rest of the stuff after we tried the pool stick and bat. It's all cheap and worthless light plastic that looks like it could break at any minute and that does not fit together well. Thank goodness for the return policy at the store we bought this from!!!

  • tried it once when they arrived
    By A6MH9D5H3DZFH on 2008-08-13
useless.......... if you have kids maybe it would be worth buying..... my ultimate review would be "more trouble then what it's worth" although I don't have any driving games yet. Maybe the steering wheel is usable.

  • Wii grand slam sports pack
    By AWIK78PBOYA1I on 2008-08-24
Have not tried the steering wheel yet but the rest of the pack is a waste of money. They added nothing to the enjoyment of the sports games. If you play all the sports it is a real hassle to change the attachments. Save your money and just use the controller.

  • We have so fun with it!!!
    By on 2008-08-31
El kit es super bueno, nos permite compartir en familia y hacer de la hora de juego un rato muy ameno.

  • Not complete
    By A1DP1J89FKPKJD on 2008-09-30
I did not recieved the tennis racket in the packet. That was the thing I wanted the most.

  • Wii are having more fun
    By A2VJFW1DGT1NFW on 2008-10-06
It increases the fun that one has playing the Wii by giving it a little more realism to the controls.
