Omron HEM-670IT Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor with APS (Advanced Positioning Sensor) and Advanced Omron Health Management Softwarex$67.99
    (48 reviews)
Best Price: $67.99
Wrist blood pressure monitors are portable, accurate and simple to use. They provide a convenient choice for those who want a second unit for away from home or who have trouble placing a cuff on their arm. The Omron HEM-670IT Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor uses Omron's patented IntelliSense technology, which inflates the wrist cuff to the ideal level with each use and offers fast, personalized, and automatic inflation for maximum comfort. No adjustments are required to select an inflation level--especially convenient for hypertensive users and for people with certain arrhythmia or heart disorders, because their blood pressure is more likely to fluctuate. And with the HEM-670IT's 100-memory recall with date and time stamp, as well as averaging capabilities for the last three readings, you can track your blood pressure and pulse progress as your work towards a healthier lifestyle. The HEM-670IT also features a system that detects an irregular heartbeat as well as morning hypertension, giving you an even better understanding of your heart's health. A built-in hypertension indicator lets you know if your readings indicate a high-blood pressure condition. Plus, you'll have additional peace of mind knowing that the HEM-670IT comes with a 5-year warranty. Because the HEM-670IT has a wrist cuff, it is particularly helpful if you have a larger than average sized arm. The monitor fits those with a wrist size of 5.25 to 8.5 inches, and it ensures easier and more comfortable use. Note, however, that a wrist monitor does require proper positioning of the device at the heart level. Correct cuff positioning is critical when monitoring blood pressure, fortunately, the HEM-670IT features an advanced positioning sensor that automatically confirms that the cuff is level with the user's heart, thereby ensuring an accurate reading. It is critical that when using a blood pressure monitor the cuff is the appropriate size and is properly applied. An ill-fitting cuff or an incorrectly-applied cuff can result in inaccurate readings. Consult your doctor or the included instructions for the proper application of the cuff.

Easy to use; very accurate By A116B133E2ZBEN on 2007-09-15
I got this monitor to keep track of my blood pressure so that I could give the printed reports to my doctor. I have one that I got from Sharper Image that is easy to use but you can't upload readings to a computer. The one from Sharper Image was also not very accurate when compared to using a regular doctor grade cuff with a stethoscope. The Omron monitor is much easier to use than the Sharper Image one, is easier to ensure the proper position and the uploading of the readings is very easy. I took the Omron monitor to my doctor to have her calibrate it against her measurements and the Omron monitor was nearly identical. Based on that and the printed reports, I was taken off my blood pressure medication!
It cannot get any easier... By A39TR7RWH0SXS6 on 2007-09-06
This device is very simple to use. Read the instructions; you have to position your arm in a certain location close to the heart. The unit detects its proximity and starts working. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because all my machines run Vista and even though the OS recognizes the device, the Omron software does not "see" it as connected. Maybe they will fix this in the next release of the software. For this reason I cannot say anything about the software that came with it. Also, my Doctor said that the electronic meters are not as accurate as the ones doctors use. I told him I was going to bring mine to his office and compare. I will update this review as soon as I do. Overall, I would recommend the unit to anyone that, like me, is on the run all of the time. You don't even have to keep track of your measurements because the unit keeps about 100 readings in memory.
Compact, accurate, data logging, Great product. By A159I60PYU06GG on 2007-11-05
I like what Omron did with this BP monitor.
Pros:
Compact
Accurate
Easy to read display
Has memory to log readings over time
Computer interface to download memory (print or email to your doc.
Cons:
Instruction could be clearer
Included software could have a clearer user interface
I really like the way it measures the blood pressure AS it pumps up so it never pumps up higher than it needs to to get a pressure reading. Many other BP Monitors pump up to 160-180 then measure the pressure as it bleeds off the air.
To the Engineers: I'd like to see the next model have a wireless way to transfer the data. I travel which is why I bought a compact monitor. My laptop case has too many cables already and now I have another one. Consider WiFi, Bluetooth, SD card. Also a backlit display would be nice. I would pay more for these features.
As a former Biomed tech that tested and repaired 100's of BP Monitors I can say with some authority that this is a winner.
Accurate and Easy to Use By A1YIBS8K69EG1V on 2007-11-06
I've used this product for almost a month now. It's easy to use and has proven accurate. I took it to my cardiology appointment and it gave the same readings as the doctor's equipment. Plus, I was told this is the unit most doctors recommend, due to its accuracy. The software that came with it (as well as a USB cord) make it possible to easily download your results onto your computer and print the results or save them. It comes in a sturdy plastic case for storage or travel. The manual is easy to understand. I would recommend this to anyone needing to watch their blood pressure and pulse carefully.
Easy to use, does what what we want. By A2JIJ042MJN2F6 on 2007-11-16
We purchased this monitor to be able to quickly and conveniently monitor blood pressure. It is very easy to use, appears to be accurate, and just does the job.
The positioning sensor makes sure you have the unit in the proper position for the reading.
I didn't rate this a 5 only because there was nothing really outstanding about the product. It does the job, plain and simple.
- Very good device
     By A2DHBY6M2NFKCJ on 2007-11-14
I bought this for my dad. He has chronic hypertension.
Pros:
* slick design
* very silent
* monitoring software
* great display
* high quality
* accurate measurements
* multiple measurements possible for improved accuracy
* heart position sensor
Cons:
* throws an error in cases of low pulse rate, weak pulse and arrhythmia (another device we used had the same problems, but that one was 3 times cheaper)
* user switching is not straight-forward
Overall, this is a very good device and probably the best you can get for home use if you need a electronic on-wrist BP monitor.
- Not accurate at all
     By AJ5EBF0AKRKDW on 2008-01-31
Well, wouldn't it be nice to have a OMRON blood pressure monitor when you are on the road? Indeed it would. I owe a OMRON HEM-790IT since December 2007 and I'm quit happy with it. It reads a bit different as the doctor in his office, but we all know this effect.
Now since I was satisfied with the OMRON-790IT I thought it might be a good idea to have an other one for the road. A smaller and easier version, so I ordered this OMRON HEM-670IT wrist blood pressure monitor. And since I had both I was able to compare. This 670IT has a mind on his own. It was off (or lets specify it better: different) to the other one by 10-20 points. Not just less or just more. No, sometimes 20 more, then 10 times less. And so on.
It has something what Omron calls IntelliSense, which lets you raise your wrist up to your heart before it starts measuring. Well since then I know my heart must be in my throat. Because there it started measuring. Sometimes. Sometimes this thing found my heart somewhere in my stomach.
And last but not least: Omron changed the USB plug on their side of the strip. Now you need two USB cables when you go on the road and you have the Omron wrist monitor 670IT and a Omron pedometer (HJ-720ITC). Well that's what we need in these days - a senseless cable more.
After this experience I send the 670IT back and will take the bulky, but fine Omron 790IT with me on the road. At least I save the cable more.
- Far better than a cuff model
     By A10923OB5J93FD on 2008-02-08
I am very happy with this product. I also have the Omron cuff model which I was using. I monitor my blood pressure twice a day so ease of use is very important to me. This cuff model is very easy to use. I love the fact that you can set it to take three readings in three minutes and it will adverage those readings. I print out the report that comes with the download to the PC and take it with me to my doctor.
For anyone who is concerned about blood pressure I highly recomend this product.
- great product!
     By A2WU7NEGI6OJI0 on 2007-09-22
this blood pressure monitor is easy to use, and has a sensor which tells you where to position your hand. and it has software to graph your results, if you're feeling obsessive!
- Great unit
     By A1AXEZ73MNQ80E on 2007-10-03
I have high blood pressure and this really helps me keep it under control. I like that I can transfer the data to my PC for anaylsis by my physician.
- Omron HEM-670IT Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor
     By A1HSUQA3F7VHH4 on 2007-12-18
Very impressed with product - works as advertised as long as you get your wrist elevated to a certain point. Fast & reliable. I brought the device to the hospital & verified results. It's quite handy for all of us who need daily or weekly montoring of blood pressure.
- Great product!
     By A3PWA3SF2LWYRV on 2008-01-16
I took my unit when I saw my Doctor. He seemed to like it, plus the fact, it registered just 3 points different than his. I love the ease of use and the fact that you can store all the data on your computer, then print out the data and take it for the Dr. to study. He's looking forward to see the tracking chart. I think it's a great product and would highly reccomend it.

     By A31F2E0XS7RTER on 2008-02-09
I've been using it for 2 months and I'm very pleased. It is very accurate and the software is outstanding.I highly recommend this to any one looking for a good priced monitor.
- Accurate, small. light, easy to use, great software
     By A2UAG66Z3540C4 on 2008-02-16
I've had over 10 devices in the past 7 years. Only a few were truly accurate and only one of the two with PC link was accurate. I'm always on the road and need a device that would be small, accurate, easy to use and that would store the readings and export them into Excel. Well this device has all this and mucho more. Its worth its price (and even more).
Great device!
- The Readings Are 100% Accurate
     By A3F5K6JN0AGPAB on 2008-02-18
This product works great and it's easy to use. I haven't tired connecting it to my computer yet but I'm will when I have the time. I took this monitor to my doctors office and the reading from my doctor and this monitor were spot on! I love how small it is also.
- All it says it is
     By A2CVUBAEBPCH6X on 2008-03-01
After reading the other reviews I ordered this over a month ago. There was one guy who claimed to be a ems or doctor that said they were not accurate. I checked it with my doctor and the readings were identical . Again and again. It is relable period! Just as so many have stated.
- Blood pressure monitor
     By A360CJZMQ0S5VH on 2008-04-02
This monitor is easy to use, accurate and, most importantly, retains values in memory and transfers them to the home computer. Color graphs can then be produced for the doctor's examination. It is a valuable tool if either pressure or pulse has to be monitored over time.
- Great Product, Works Great
     By AV23H9IQJKR75 on 2008-01-14
The Omron wrist monitor works great. I took it to the doctors office to compare readings and it checked out. It's easy to use, small, conpact and, simple to pack for travel or storage. The computer program is easy to use, The reason I gave it a 4 star and not a five is because it only only stores the information for one person in its memory. I believe you can download the software for free from Omron. In that case I would purchase the model without the computer upload feature and do it manualy, which is very quick and easy.
- Sweet!
     By A18QFTSXL8W7ZQ on 2008-02-26
After my finger-cuff BP machine died I decided it was time to upgrade to something that made it easier for me to get my numbers to my doctor - Many times I would take my BP but never log the readings on my log sheet so I ordered this model. In the 6 days I have used it, I mostly love it - it was easy to use out of the box and the software installation was very easy. My only wish is that the unit had a back-lit display.
- Consistently inaccurate
     By AVSI9HBVD3A3U on 2008-03-18
I've had this unit for a week, and am returning it. It's very easy to use, confortable, fast, and the downloadable feature makes keeping records for one's doctor to review a snap. The ONLY problem: when compared to blood pressure monitors at my local hospital and my personal physician's office, it consistently reads Diastolic high, usually by about 30 points, and Dyastolic high, by around 15 points. I am being evaluated for hypertension and since I *usually* measure within healthy ranges at medical faclities, with only the occasional very high repeatable reading, I have been directed to take frequent, scheduled measurements at home. The degree of error found in this possibly defective unit -- which I note appears to be atypical for most customers -- is enough to suggest the need for specific treatments where none may be necessary.
The Automatic Positioning System and Intellisense technology featured in this product seemed to work just fine, consistently guiding me to position my wrist in the same locale over my chest, thus I believe that my experience may not reflect the behavior of a properly functioning Omron HEM-670IT.
I am returning this unit to AMAZON, and ordering the arm cuff style HEM-790IT, which appears to not be as convenient to carry around, but seems to enjoy better reviews and is more trusted for accuracy by medical professionals. I'm now gunshy about wrist-based BP monitors, but I'll miss the convenience of having an all-in-one, compact unit that travels easily and doesn't smack of "medical appliance/device". (I don't like being reminded 2-3 times a day that something *might* be wrong.)
The wrist unit is somehow less intimidating, but where health parameters are concerned, accuracy is everything.
- Excellent & Accurate
     By A16Z9EF5EUH1ZQ on 2008-04-21
Having a possible high blood pressure problem, my doctor suggested that I get a home monitor. I tried the type that you put around your upper arm and that didn't work because I could not get the band tight enough. Then I boughtt this wrist type unit and it is Excellent & Accurate.
- easy and clear to understand

- Had to return for refund
     By A2TALSKVI7ZEBY on 2008-04-05
Worked for ten days although the readings seemed consistantly low, then would not pump up with any pressure and showed E error message. Changed batteries and still not working. Seems defective - Returned for refund.
- It works great, But.......
     By ALKO3LGSS4YT0 on 2008-06-01
I bought the OMRON 670IT Blood Pressure with the idea of taking my blood pressure in the morning and evening then downloading the data and printing it for my doctor to see.
However, the software only works on Microsoft XP and 2000. I have an Apple Computer and a Dell with VISTA.
So the "Data Management Software" doesn't work for me. I regret spending money for something that I can't use.
- Dose not work!

Omron HEM-670IT Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor with APS (Advanced Positioning Sensor) and Advanced Omron Health Management Software
Does not match to readings taken by three nurses at different Doctor's office. Ranged anywhere from 20 to 30 points low. Product is useless to me.
- Mine didn't work.......
     By A2YB7DLC3FOR7W on 2008-04-29
Mine did not work at all. I returned it for a refund and thankfully Amazon accepted it and gave me my money back.
- Excellent Blood Pressure Monitor
     By AB0MXGXQOA4LT on 2008-05-19
Excellent monitor. I have used other wrist blood pressure monitors and found them to be somewhat inaccurate. This one hits the mark with the bulb squeeze type and was only off by about 2 points, but then you have to remember that your blood pressure is not static, it changes slightly by the moment. But this is great especially for keeping a record in a very easy manner showing your history of your blood pressure. Highly recommend and I wish I would have found this a lot sooner. I have had absolutely no problems with it.
- GREAT PRODUCT and GREAT PRICE
     By A2Q4Q4E248K1Y6 on 2008-05-23
I have been using an HEM 650 for the past year to monitor BP and irregular heart beat (A Fib). Checked it against physicians monitor and it was dead on. I recently switched to HEM 670 IT in order to get download capability. This model was checked against physicians monitor with the same results. Very easy to use and it has more graphs and charts than I will ever need. I can print out all results for my physician to review. It gives weekly, monthly and yearly averages. The wrist monitor displays irregular heart beat but doesn't include it on the print out, this is it's only fault.
- Blood Pressure Monitor

HEM-670IT Wrist Blood Pressure Monitor with APS & Health Management Software
Although I would rather not be monitoring my blood pressure at my age I suppose if I must this is the ideal companion in my opinion. Bedides being quite accurate it is also a great tool to track changes and communicate the downloaded readings to your doctor via email. A good product at a reasonable price.
