Heroscape Expansion Set - Archers And Kyrie Reviews

• No surprises, but two solid squads

  At 140 points, the Einar Imperium are currently Heroscape's most expensive squad. They use Double Attack (yes, that's six attacks total!) to threaten nearly any unit in the game, but with 3 defense and no protective powers beyond Stealth Flying, their survival skills are very disappointing. Fortunately, their double attack allows them to squeeze more dice than usual out of any attack enhancements, and they are led by Wave 6's Empress Kiova, a kyrie hero whose only function in the game is to help their defense. As soldiers, they can also benefit from the excellent boosts of General Marcus. With light-looking equipment and large, realistic wings, they are the kyrie who gave the most convincing impression of actually being fliers.
  
  The Tagawa Samurai Archers struggle offensively with 6 range and 2 attack, but they take Counter Strike-- a power previously reserved only for uniques and almost entirely for melee units-- to a new level. This expandable common squad can advance to screen more valuable units, open fire on the way in, and then close with the enemy and threaten to Counter Strike with a defense of 3. And two squads of them are still cheaper than one unit of Einar Imperium!

  I am writing this for my 8 year old son. He loves this toy and is wanting the whole set. His 3 year old brother even plays with them and they are very durable. I did buy these on sale and they are very small. I had never seen them in person when I ordered them, so I was surprised they were small but my son said they all are. Anwyay, if you are into Heroscape this is a nice set to have.
