Bissell 1867-7 Steam Mop Hard-Floor Cleaner, Green Teax$65.00

(349 reviews)

Best Price: $99.99 $65.00

Bissell, Steam Mop, Hard Floor Cleaner, 100% Chemical Free Cleaning, Safe & Effective, Ready To Use With Water Only, Environmentally Friendly, 360 Degree Swivel Head, Washable Microfiber Mop Pads, Quick Release Cord Wrap, Slim, Lightweight Design.

Ideal for the chemically sensitive or those with small children, the Bissell Steam Mop deep-cleans hard-surface floors using the power of pure water alone. No harsh (or expensive) cleaners means no fumes or residues to irritate lungs or muddy delicate finishes, while the use of hot steam rather than buckets of water leaves floors dry in just seconds. Heated and ready to use in 30 seconds, the remarkably quiet mechanism works something like an iron: steam is dispensed on demand, rather than continuously, by pressing the trigger while passing the mop over the floor. Hot steam easily removes hardened and sticky gunk, especially if the mop sits over the mess for a few seconds. (Leave it in place 15 seconds to actually sanitize the cleaning surface.) The machine steams for approximately 15 minutes before the tank needs to be refilled, but there's no lag once you refill it.

The Steam Mop's low-profile 360-degree swiveling head accesses hard-to-reach nooks and crannies, like under kitchen cabinets, while its compact profile stores easily in small spaces. Other thoughtful design touches include a quick-release cord wrap and easy-carry handle, as well as a built-in water filter to protect from the minerals and impurities in hard water. (An indicator lets users know when the filter need to be replaced.) Durable, reusable microfiber pads are safe on all sealed hard surfaces and clean up nicely in the washing machine, making them more environmentally friendly than disposable options. Measuring 6 by 11 by 45-1/2 inches, the Bissell Steam Mop weighs less than 7 pounds and is covered by a one-year limited warranty.--Mary Park MPN: 18677 - UPC: 011120006520

  • The best solution I've tried

    By A21AGJ5AYA1W4I on 2007-09-10
I've owned the older white model for over a year now - the old terry pads didn't bother me as far as shrinking went, but I sure wore holes in them. The new microfiber pads are a nice improvement, easier to get on and off, and appear to be more durable.

I'm a big fan of this product and was very disappointed when Bissell appeared to discontinue it - I've wanted to purchase one for my mother and mother in law.

    So, for the review:

Nothing cleans your floor better than good old fashioned Cinderella-style scrubbing. But given that I have around 1800 square feet of hard flooring, three kids, and four dogs - my knees just can't take that kind of torture cleaning something that is just going to be spilled on, puked on, or smeared with banana in a matter of minutes.

I have tried all the other leading brands of hard floor cleaners, and this one is by far the simplest to use and does a decent enough job that it's a regular in my household cleaning routine.

    Pros:

    - Uses nothing but water. No chemicals, no expensive solutions. I do purchase distilled since we have hard well water and the filter on my old model hasn't needed replacing.

    - Cleans my ceramic tile and bamboo floor quickly and effectively. The water dries very quickly. My tile never looks streaky, but the bamboo flooring does a bit.

    - Piece of cake clean up. Toss the mop head pad into the laundry, wrap the cord up and you're done. Small and compact, easy to store.

    - It's very quiet. I can clean after my kids are in bed and the soft steaming noise wouldn't bother even the lightest sleeper.

    Cons:

    - The cord really is too darn short, but I've remedied that with an extension cord.

    - It's a little short for me. This gripe isn't very fair because EVERY mop, broom, and vacuum are too short for me (except for the Dyson) - I'm tall. But I will mention here that short women aren't the only people who clean! My 5'10" self and my 6'3" husband both have to hunch over to mop the floor with this. It'd be lovely if the handle could extend.

    - Doesn't do a great job on grout - but nothing does. I've decided I just hate tile and grout period.

    - It does take some effort to push, but cleans overall more quickly than the Powered Floormate.

    - Like any machine it can't get right up close to the walls and though it's mophead fits under the cabinets, it simply cannot clean right in the crack where the floor meets. So every so often I have to get down and hand scrub those areas.

    ----

Highly, highly recommend for regular use. Does a great job at steaming the dried on grime and gunk my kids regularly paste the house with.

  • A viable solution

    By A2D5TXYDMIQK7C on 2007-09-07
Well, it's a newbie review since the product was just released. Time will tell if I actually use this long term or not...

    But so far....

I actually do like it! There are only 8 gazillion options on how to best clean your floor, none which truly compare with getting down on your hands and knees. But, for the TYPICAL user who needs an easier solution to a pretty clean floor a couple times a week and particularly prefers not to use chemicals this actually works quite well. I am not disappointed.

I will make a couple notes though:

I guess I wrongly assumed that since it's using "steam" water it is going to be sanitizing as it goes along. After reading the manual though it states to actually disinfect an area you have to let it steam in that spot for 15 seconds. Obviously to do a whole floor would take the afternoon. But, okay, if you drop a piece of chicken it's a nice option I suppose.

Also, I was really hoping it would leave a streak free clean but the floor does end up with a bit of standing water and does leave some streaks. Maybe if you don't hold down the lever quite so much it would just release less water. Of course, though, then it's not steaming as much either.

Additionally, the lever is a bit tough to hold down for extended periods of time so not for those users with weak pointer fingers. No biggie though.

The cord is pretty short, so I could see that bothering some people. Although I like short cords. Less opportunities to fall and break my neck.

So, in the product's favor, it does a decent job which is what I was most concerned about. If I let it steam for 3 seconds or so right over something stuck on the kitchen floor it takes it right off. Also goes under the ledges and stuff nicely. The pads are easy to take on and off and it's quiet.. Also heats up very quickly (a few seconds) and the water lasts long enough for me to do the whole kitchen and dining room. And it's heavy enough you don't feel like you have to bear down on it like you do the Swiffer.

One last thing though. It isn't a super quick clean, in my opinion. I almost think a mop is a little faster because with this thing you kind of want it to go slower so that it can really steam. So, it isn't necessarily saving me much time. But it is saving hassle, chemicals, and my back!

For someone who understands that that there are no quick fixes in life and they will never find anything that can replace true blood, sweat and tears of doing the job by hand - it would be a good find. It is a nice thing to have and a decent close 2nd.

  • the best

    By A2HFDFIDJC705G on 2007-10-12
I bought this after much online research and figured it had to be too good to be true. A product that would clean without chemicals, not be hard to use, and not need a million pieces! This mop is very light to move, the pad is easy to clean via wash or sink. I most like how it doesn't leave streaks. Everything else I've used on my sealed hardwood floors leaves streaks. No more on my hands and knees! The only things that are a little pain are that you have to take the pad off the bottom after use so that you don't leave a wet spot (no different than any other mop), the cord tends to be on the short side, there is no way to turn it off except by unplugging it, and that if you aren't careful with the amount of steam you will have to go over the flooring with a towel. This is only a problem on the wood, on ceramic it dries without problem. I've been on the lookout for a product that is easy and efficient. After having mine for a month I am still happy and would recommend it to anyone. Oh, this is Randall's wife writing the review.

  • Bissell compared to the Shark Steam Mop

    By A2FA4FBRYJ7IQG on 2008-07-19
This product is just OK. For some with lots of tile that not too dirty, it may be fine. It is a light cleaning tool. If I had lots of heavy regular filth due to heavy animal and kid traffic, I wouldn't buy either steam cleaner. I am returning the Bissell because I have a lot of wood laminate and it leaves the floors WAY too wet and streaked. But you ought to be aware of the pros and cons since some things may not matter to you. I also borrowed my sister's Shark Steam Mop so I will compare the two for you as the cost is identical.

*The Bissell has a swivel head which is great around the toilet and the Shark does not swivel at all.

*The Bissell is well made for a such a low profile appliance and feels sturdy with a nice thick cord. The Shark feels cheaply made with a flimsy cord. The lengths of the cord are similar. You'll need to use an extension cord with both.

*The Bissell has a removeable water bottle (convenient!) and the shark does not.

*The Bissell weighs more than the Shark (about 8 pounds), but is very easy to push. The Shark is harder to push, but weighs only 3 pounds. You'd get an aerobic workout if you cleaned a whole house of flooring with the Shark and was a lightweight like me!

*The Bissell leaves you with a VERY wet floor even if you go easy on the steam trigger. I also had lots of streaks on my laminate wood flooring. I would not use it on laminate or wood w/o drying them off ASAP. The Shark does not leave streaks and did not leave a sopping trail behind. The floors dried on their own in under a minute. This is a HUGE plus!

*The Bissell pads have a drawstring and are pretty thin and not absorbant which is a contributing factor to the soppiness the mop leaves behind. The Shark pads are velcro attached (easier!)and are thicker and more absorbant. They are also much more expensive to replace, however.

So, my conclusion is that if I had tile floors, I might consider keeping it as the excess wetness wasn't as huge streaky issue (I went and cleaned my in-laws white tile with it) and it's a sturdier product that seems like it will last for years. I would just find some elastic pads that were ALOT better (I was considering the Tersano pads sold here Tersano lotus Wet Mop Cloths, 2-Pack #LMC28 as a possibliity since they will fit). But since the drier steam and the better pads are VERY important to me, I may actaully go with the Shark even though the machine is rather flimsy feeling and appears more cheaply made. I'd just use distilled water in it and hope it goes few years before falling apart. You'd think that by now some manufacturer would be able to provide the best of both products. What happened Bissell? You could have had a GREAT product if the pads were thick and absorbant and you provided us with the dry steam that the infomercials imply!

  • The last mop you ever have to buy...

    By A2U65XOK057RNL on 2007-09-24
Ok, I admit I'm a neat freak already...but honestly I was tired of spending so much money on refills dry and wet for Swiffers...and regular mops were so much work and just mopped the dirt back and forth, I couldn't win either way. Finally I tried this....no chemicals - great for you and the economy (and if you have kids!), it's done quick (after one mop thru), it drys quick (no waiting), and it's ULTRA-CLEAN afterwards! Squeaky clean. Seriously you could eat off your floor.
Keep in mind however, this will not work as good if you hardly ever clean your floor and have dust and debris sitting all over it. You have to be somewhat clean and pick up normal stuff (don't expect it to suck up anything as that's not what it's meant to do). But this works great....you try it once, it almost becomes addicting to clean your floors. I definitely recommend to everyone!

  • Great floor cleaner
    By A2I8WRTMM9W8BX on 2007-09-05
I have linoleum flooring that never looked really clean - even after I would get down on my hands and knees and scrub. This mop totally got rid of the residue/buildup and the flooring looks new. I highly recommend it!

  • Throw your old mop away!
    By A8ET1YYYD7QUM on 2007-12-27
The cleaning power of this mop can't be beat. The swivel head makes it easy to get around table legs and toilets, and it gives you the peace of mind that the floor is not just clean, it's sanitized with no chemicals.

It's ready almost immediately once plugged in, and you have steam control at the touch of a finger. At first, I was surprised that there was no on/off switch, but the unit is essentially "off" until you call for steam. Pressing the steam button turns it "on."

The easy to fill reservoir slides effortlessly into place, and the thick, absorbent mop heads are easy to attach. Just throw them in the wash, and they clean up like new. Also, you don't have to move in slow motion like with some steam mops, as the entire mop head stays firmly planted on the floor, even with some speed.

This is the best steam mop I have found. I have had no problem with my sealed hardwood oak floors, and it did great on my tile. Highly recommended!

[Update 4/20/08: The cord on this mop has turned out to be rather short. However, this is a minor annoyance as we are still more than satisfied with its cleaning power. Tip for keeping the mop heads coming out of the wash like new: order several extra mop heads, and don't let them get overly soiled before changing to a fresh one. Several would be needed to do an entire house.]

  • Take one star away for made in china
    By ANJ1T3RH2FU1E on 2007-12-13
I really like this unit, but don't like that it isn't made in the USA. That being said, it does a very nice job on my kitchen and dining linoleum. It cleans the lino in the bathroom but of course there's always the hard-to-reach behind the toilet syndrome that even this amazing unit can't conquer. I would also suggest that you NOT order replacement items via, well, this site. Go to mgfrs site. Lots cheaper. Summary: nice unit. Lightweight, like the grab handle in the center to hold on to to apply that extra pressure where its needed.

  • I really like this product.
    By A2ZJPDH0YP90SD on 2007-11-21
Great product. It does take 2 or 3 times before it functions all the way perfectly - don't give up on it too soon, try it again, and then again a few days later. I think the water has to get all through the channels. After the second time it really worked great. Yay.

  • I Really Wanted It To Work Out
    By A2QE7JFGJGPJWK on 2007-08-29
Overall, the steam mop is constructed beautifully. It heats up quickly, is lightweight, and easy to maneuver. But, it just wasn't made for my 10 year old tiles. They are sealed, but due to so much trafficing over the past 10 years, some of the sheen has diminished.

The first day I used the steam mop, streaks were left all over my tiles, and the remaining sheen on my tiles was totally stripped (really). Then, I noticed several of my tiles had lifted. My Sister-In-Law had warned me of this in advance. I should have listened. My loss.

So, in the end, the mop was not made for my tiles (sealed tiles), even though the manual oddly states that it is. I had to sell it to someone else whose tiles are made of a different material. It works great for her. It definitely agrees with sealed hardwood floors, ceramic, marble, and linoleum.

    Good luck.

  • A great time saver
    By A2ICBZJ3BNLJAP on 2008-02-09
I purchased this item a couple months ago when I moved into a new residence. The floors throughout are pergo wood grain. I was amazed how much dirt came up off of a floor that was supposed to have been cleaned when I moved in. Now it really IS clean. I am able to get right to the base boards and like that the mop head rotates all the way around to get into tight spaces. Of course I still have to wipe out the corners by hand...but that's minor compared to the hands and knees scrubbing I'd be doing otherwise. I haven't had a problem with the floors getting too wet and they dry in minutes. Another plus - the steam mop uses no chemicals to clean so I don't have to worry about my pets ingesting anything harmful.

The mop came with two pads that wash up easily enough, but I would recommend getting an extra set or two. I'd like to see the pads a bit thicker as the texture of the floor has worn holes in a couple of them, but I'm guessing they will last a lot longer on a smooth surface. Overall, I find this to be a very satisfying product and a huge time saver.

P.S. - I've found that adding a little vinegar to the water once in a while freshens the air as it cleans and helps eliminate steaking.

  • Don't expect much
    By AZNUHQSHZHSUE on 2007-09-03
I had high hopes for this. I wanted something that would replace my mop but this doesn't clean very well, only liquid spills or non grimy/sticky stuff. This would only good for sterilizing the floor after you use a real mop. Returned.

  • overall wonderful but a few short comings
    By A1MS0J7WMRDJ5A on 2007-08-28
worst being that the power cord is too short! This is the green, IMPROVED model with microfiber pads. Watch out for the older, white model with the terry pads, they have a bad reputation for shrinking! also more pads should be included (comes with 2). You need at least 1 pad per room.

I looked at a few others before buying this one. I like bissells reputation, replacement parts including pads are easy to get and reasonably priced as well. You can use TAP water, this has a filter so you do not have to buy distilled water. The filter has a gauge that tells you when to replace it so hard water won't damage it! think of what happes to your electric coffe maker after a while.....other companies only tell you in the fine print to use distilled water which can get pricey. this one is much cheaper then the infomercial ones and I think better made

if it had a longer cord I would have rated it 5 stars

  • You've got to be kidding me....
    By A9RSBQVSKOVIK on 2008-07-25
I'm going to make the assumption that the positive reviews on this steamer are from folks who have never used a good high-pressure canister steamer, because no way no how does this Bissell contraption come close to doing what a good steamer should do. I have an EnviroSteamer canister steamer, and I also used to have an EnviroSteamer floor mop steamer. I wanted a new floor steamer mop (the old one finally broke after many years of service), as admittedly it is more convenient than the big canister, but EnviroSteamer is no longer made. Enter the Bissell.

First off, who is the idiot that designed a trigger finger-style mechanism? In order for steam cleaning to work well, steam should be released constantly, not an on-and-off type of maneuver. If there is a trigger mechanism, there should be a way to keep it on constantly without having to manually depress the trigger (i.e. a lock button). My hand was fatigued after using the Bissell on just two small bathrooms. Plus, its a little on the heavy side, so keeping the steam button engaged while pushing is not easy on the hand.

That would have been overlookable if the unit would have actually cleaned well. Like I said, I really think the folks who posted positive reviews never had a good steamer, but this thing is laughable in terms of getting things "clean"; it also isn't efficient. The steam doesn't seem hot enough, and isn't under much pressure. I had to hold the unit over very lightly soiled spots on the tile, and even then had to push back and forth to get very light grease spots out (you know those light grease spots that spatter around the stove and such). My other steamer zaps stuff out like that on the first pass effortlessly and quickly moves right onto the next.

After a few minutes, the pad on the Bissell gets absolutely sopping wet; hence, the floor is sopping wet and takes a long time to dry - not convenient in the least when you want to clean the floor and get on with the day. Again - a good steamer dries the floor on the reverse pass, there is very, very little, if any, wetness left on the floor when I use the other model, and only towards the end of a long steaming session when the pad is ultra-saturated with moisture.

Essentially, this Bissell performs as a wet mop, not a steam mop. It doesn't have the steaming power (temp. or pressure) that a good steamer should, and the pad gets so saturated it like mopping the floor with water only - my floors are not getting cleaned as they should.

All in all, good concept, poor machine. I'm boxing mine up and returning it. I'll stick with the canister - yea, it's bulky, but it truly CLEANS the floor at a high steam temp. on the first pass, it DRIES the floor, and its easy to push and not fatiguing on the hands. Save your money on the Bissell - piece of junk as far as I'm concerned.

  • Not "green"
    By A2GC0J07FY9IZ8 on 2007-12-07
I bought this steamer for my parents who have all bamboo floors. The FAQs say it won't work on unsealed hardwood but nothing about not working on bamboo. My folks contacted the company and were told it is NOT recommended for bamboo. With more and more people going "green" by using this quickly renewable wood source, I feel the ads should clarify that this product won't work for bamboo.

  • Wow, I'm in love!
    By A18LJ21J2T0BWM on 2007-10-06
I have finally found the cleaning product of my dreams! Its quick and easy to use and actually CLEANS! I have 1600 sqft of hardwoods with two old dogs, one cat and one 2yr old tromping all over them daily.... needless to say the floor gets dirty. The Bissel mop uses nothing but water and by far cleans the best of everything I've tried. The washable pads are an added plus, no more throwing money away on filmy chemical products and disposable pads! One thing to note, it gets REALLY hot and shouldn't be left sitting for too long in one spot. The cord is too short also, but these are minor details as far as I'm concerned. For those who despise both dirt and cleaning, try this mop... it rocks!

  • Cleans like a champ
    By AH0GU04TROVWU on 2007-10-17
This steam mop works great! We had a kitchen floor that even scrubbing by hand wouldn't clean up, but the hot steam lifted all the grime and ground in dirt -- We were going to put down new flooring, but it looks like new now. Yes, the cord is too short; and yes, you do get water puddled on the floor if you leave it in one spot too long; and yes, it does take a little effort. But the results are worth it. I found that you need to work it back and forth in one spot to get up really ground in dirt. And you need to change the pads often to get good results. But extra pads, there are some on ebay that are better than the manufacturers type. Made of better micro fiber. And for touch ups this steam mop works well without water puddles and no chemicals! Just Water!
    I was amazed.

  • Great Bissell Steam Mop!
    By A21PAHPPNJAR46 on 2007-11-09
This mop is FABULOUS on ceramic tile. It cleans and dries with no spots or streaks. I ordered an extra set of mop covers so I can keep cleaning until the job is complete. With only one carpeted room in the house, this is a timesaver! Thanks!

  • I love this steam mop!
    By A2SNA8YJCA3P2E on 2007-11-11
I've had my Bissell Steam Mop for about a month, now, and I truly love it. I have 11 cats and 1 dog, plus I live in the Sierra Foothills. Needless to say, the animals and the humans in the household can track in a lot of dirt, especially during the winter months. This product is so easy to use, and because the steam is so hot, the moisture dries very quickly, leaving no residue or streaks. A reviewer who wrote a one-star review had mentioned that the water took forever to dry. I have never found that to be the case at all. For me, it's been quite the opposite.

I think the strongest asset of this product is that the steam penetrates the dirt and grunge on the floor, and loosens it, unlike a regular sponge or string mop. This makes for a very easy clean-up.

I used to absolutely hate having to get the mop out and go through the constant wiping/wringing process. Using this steam mop has made the job so much easier. I know this may sound a little crazy, but I don't mind washing the hard-floor surfaces in my house, now. I actually kind of enjoy it.

The only down side to this steam mop is that I think the cord is too short. However, moving the plug to a more convenient location is a small price to pay, compared to the overall results. I honestly can't complain.

  • WOW! Cleans FAST!
    By A1PPV8YA36TDY on 2007-10-12
Wow weeeee! I have two boys and two men and my floor is always dirty and hard to clean! I wanted an easier way to clean and sanitize the floor in the kitchen and this does it all! FAST! I even cleaned under the fridge! EWWW! This thing attacked it with ease! I highly reccommend the Bissell steam mop!

  • Pleasantly surprised
    By A1LJOBG1G4UY8N on 2007-12-04
I relay heavily on other's opinions and thought that the bissell steam mop had the highest user ratings. However, I was still skeptical at how well it would actually work. My entire house is tile, except for the bedrooms, and I bemoan the fact that I must vacuum then mop the floor every week. It usually takes over an hour - time I don't have. So, I am always looking for an easier way.

Well, I found it. The system is so easy! Really! All you have to do is put the water in - wait 15 second and presto you're on your way to a clean floor. No buckets, no wringing the mop, no dirty water to be changed. Now granted I have three kids under five and a dog so my floors are never, ever clean. So for the first cleaning I held down the steam button for the entire floor. And then dried it with a towel. But, the second cleaning I only used the steam about half the time and the floor dried quickly and relatively streak free.

Now the mop cloth does become saturated if you have a large area to clean, so you might want to switch it out half way through. I ordered extra mop cloths for this very reason. However, they are very easy to put on - you just have to wait for them to cool off a little.

Pros - easy to use, much quicker than mopping, can easily get under cabinets and other low furniture, chemical free, does an amazing job cleaning, quiet enough to use when the kids are sleeping, easy to use for quick clean up jobs

Cons - it probably cleans almost too well - now I can see where the grout wasn't cleaned off well enough when the tile was laid. Also, the mop cloths could be a little more durable. There are several small holes in the one (it might be because I pushed down on the mop too hard the first time I used it, because there are only holes in that one mop cloth - I've since found that it cleans just as well without pushing down on it)
However, it still cleans like a champ!
    Highly recommend!

  • Absolutely amazing!!!
    By ASWPIL6PUNMO8 on 2007-09-01
Wow!!! It makes such a difference! We ordered this item because it is perfect for the environment as well as great because we have mostly hard floors (laminate & tile) We were tired of sticky cleaners & mops that left streaks & footprints but never really got the floor clean.

It's so easy to do & it worked wonders on our floors. I will say you should vacuum/swift very well beforehand, but we have only used the Bissell once (It just arrived yesterday). It's great that it comes with 2 pads, but they get dirty really quick, I'm sure the more we steam the less dirty the floor will be, but maybe getting more pads would be a good idea. I believe they suggest 1 pad per room, which would have made it easier. As others have stated the cord is a bit on the short side, but thats what extension cords are for. Other than that we love it! We'll probably have to replace the filter more often as we have really hard water, I do try to use the fridges filtered water. We love it's a great replacement for those old dirt collecting mops.

  • wonderful
    By A366ZF5B85I44 on 2007-12-06
I have used the bissell steam mops for 3 years now. I upgraded to this one because of the hard water we have here in Florida, which destroyed the older version. The microfiber pads are also a huge improvement. You will love this mop! I never have to use chemicals. I used to use it to clean my laminate floors, now I have tile floors throughout my house and it works great on both.

  • Cleans great but pads are hard to deal with.
    By A1GCSZLGQSKS4K on 2007-12-26
I really like the performance of this product, but the pads are hard to get off and much harder to get on. There is a drawstring that goes around the edge of the pad, and you have to get it loosened enough to get the pad on and then get the drawstring over a sort of ridge all around the bottom of the unit and then pull the drawstring tight which is not easy at all. I have to insert one tine of a very strong fork into the gizmo which pulls the drawstring tight and then pull hard while trying to keep hold of the business end of the unit with one hand. The cleaning head also flips as you are trying to work on getting the pad attached. I have to brace the upended unit against my kitchen cabinets in order to hold onto it and put the pad on. Otherwise you can't hold it and get the pad on at the same time. It's quite awkward. Oh, you also absolutely must purchase extra pads because they get dirty fast as you work. They are cotton and can be washed in the washing machine. Otherwise, it's a great product. It really does clean well, and it heats up and makes steam fast. It is hot to the touch when you are dealing with the pads, though so you must let it cool off some before you try to change one.

  • BISSELL DISAPPOINTMENT

I have 6 dogs. I have a Bissell carpet cleaning machine which I love so I thought I would try this. It left the floor wet and it took forever for it to dry. I had been using microfiber mops which were okay, but I thought a steam cleaner would be better and faster. Not so. At least not for me. I figured my floors were drier when I finished with my microfiber mop so I went back to it and returned the Bissell.

I have come to rely heavily on others' reviews, so I just wanted to thank all of you who review the products! I really like my Bissel Steam mop and agree with all the others regarding it's performance. (With the one exception of the pads being difficult, they are easy as pie!)

When I received my steamer, I moved out my stove and refrigerator and cleaned those areas first. It did a great job and that was a big test! It's the best product I've found for cleaning my bathroom floors. Oh, and it's a great value compared to others on the market!

  • Best mop ever
    By A8ZJPWBQ01UJ2 on 2007-10-04
The bissel steam mop is fantastic, very easy to use and does a great job on our sealed hardwood floors, tile and vinyl. It leaves the floors squeeky clean no streaks no cleanup. I have told several other people about it and they have pruchased one.

  • Very Disappointed

I recently purchased the Bissell Steam Mop floor cleaner. I also purchased the Microfiber replacements, which I never received and I paid in full for them.
I would like to retun this Mop since it does not work on Spanish tiles.
It has made marks all over the area in which I tried to clean. I followed the directions very carefully.
I have made numerous attempts to contact the company that sent this product. Allery Be Gone does not accept phone calls on the number listed, and they do not respond to the e-mails sent to them.
I am not only out of the money spent on these items, but I need to restore my floor.

  • Damaging
    By A203OUNFKPN0NR on 2007-12-25
This product left streaks on my hardwood and took the finish off of no-wax floors. It has really made a mess! The linoleum is damaged permanently! It previously was in A+ condition. Beware!

  • Perplexed by other reviews

I purchased this product upon reading about how it cleaned so great and how it even cleaned the dirty grout. I was anxious to get started on cleaning my tiled bathrooms. I tried it, ran the mop over the tiles slowly and with the force of using a regular mop. Nothing. It didn't get the stuck on stuff off and I had to bend over and take my tile brush and wash cloth to clean the tile. I was disappointed. I also could not use it on my hardwood. I have finished floors with a polyurothane protective cover but it still left dull streaks across my hardwood. I was pretty let down by the product, especially for the price I paid.
