Great upgrade for EEE PC 1000h By A1Y85GQ09Y95JL on 2008-08-19
I got this to upgrade to replace my new Asus EEE PC 1000h's 1gb chip. There is a very noticeable improvement in the speed of a lot of operations including Firefox and MS Word. A free benchmarking tool bumped the total score from an 80 to 135, making the 1000h as good as a full size Toshiba Satellite laptop running a AMD 6400 dual core! It doesn't seem to significantly affect the the battery life one way or another. This is my second OCZ memory upgrade, the first one worked out great too. I'm very pleased with this purchase!
eee pc bios needs to be reset after installing 2 GB RAM By A1FMCSV1TFA3PD on 2008-10-26
...if putting in 2GB module in eee pc 1000 you need to restart computer after installing the RAM and keep pressing F2. then press F10 to accept the settings in the BIOS. now your eee pc will recognize the 2 GB module
yeah,.. plug and play... right
peace, scott
Just Works. By A2UHYW9Z71LUC3 on 2008-05-06
I use one of those in my Eee PC 4G. It just works. (Note: Under Linux/Xandros you need a new kernel for your Eee PC to recognize 2GB - the original kernel will only find 1GB.)
Works well By A12RVBA0357SLZ on 2008-01-09
I bought two of these to replace the stock memory sticks (2 X 1GB) on my new HP laptop. they've been working well from the beginning no problem. i noticed dramatic improvements in boot up speed and graphics intensive games. i would recommend it if you're looking to expand your memory capacity.
Exactly as described By A2YRUCC2T73KIE on 2008-04-25
I have two of these modules in my Dell XPS M1710. No issues. What's not to like?
- Works great in Macbook Pro!
     By A1KKE6VX8VPWZK on 2008-09-04
I installed 2 of these in my Macbook Pro running OSX 10.5.x and Windows Vista Ultimate 64. In vista it only showed 3GB of ram but the score was 4.9 on the memory speed test. In Mac I get the full 4GB.
For the price you cant beat this upgrade. Concidering that Apple wants to charge 10x as much you cant go wrong with the upgrade.
How to install it on a Macbook Pro:
Power down the laptop.
1. Remove the battery
2. locate the plate where the battery removal switch is (flat shiney plate)
3. Use a small Philips head screwdriver (size 0) to remove the 3 tiny flat topped screws.
4. You'll then see the memory behind that plate. The trick here is to be firm when installing it. Don't smash it in but use consistent pressure to push the memory in then click it down. If you do it right both chips will line up. If it doesnt look straight then it isn't. Take it out and try again before powering up.
- not happy at all
     By A321JS1N4RC4ZI on 2008-09-29
Update 10/17/2008: Check out the comments section for the fix to this issue. I raise my rating from one to two stars. I will not give anymore because of the frustration and my time wasted with no help from their tech support dept. on the most simple of fixes.
I ordered this upgrade for my newly purchased Asus 1000H mini-laptop and I am not a happy camper. The RAM does not show up in my computer's BIOS as 2GB and I think they sent me a 1GB stick that was labelled 2 GB. Customer service is horrendous. Answer your phones people! I just want the memory I paid for...
I have wasted so much time on something that should have taken 15 minutes. Replacing RAM in laptops is as easy as it gets, but not when the product does not register correctly and you think you are retarded.
This is the worst purchase I have ever made on Amazon. Check out my other reviews. I like everything. It takes alot to disappoint me, but faulty product with no tech support equals unhappy customer.
I should have went with Kingston. They are the best. Lesson learned.
- Excellent Memory for the Price!
     By A3AAJL9IZM0CJD on 2008-05-28
I bought two of these for my Apple MacBook Pro to maximize the memory to 4GB. I have not encountered any issues at all. I bought OCZ stuff before and they are an excellent company who makes quality products. Their support is also top notch when I had a problem with one of their items they helped me out immediately. This memory module was inexpensive and performed very well. Money well spent! :)
- Great for the Eee PC!
     By AU28YTEQATO23 on 2008-06-23
I purchased this for my Asus Eee PC 701 and it works great. Running Windows XP Pro it's fast and has had no issues.
If you have an Eee I recommend you grab this for your memory upgrade.
- great memory great price

- Really good choice
     By A2GNAY913L2703 on 2008-05-27
One memory card with 2GB SoDIMM for laptops.
The delivery was faster and arrives with no fault.
It works perfectly and also i have another of 1GB SoDIMM bus 667MHz and there is any problem each others.
- 2GB SoDIMM Memory Module for HP 9260
     By A3TXJ3DE8D5LLS on 2008-07-19
I used this 2GB Memory Module to replace one of the two 1GB modules in my HP 9260 Notebook. HP says 2GB is the max for this notebook. I simply popped out the 1GB and inserted this 2GB in its place. It made a world of difference with the performance. I didn't replace the other 1GB module because I had read about others putting in 4GB but the system only seeing 3GB. It seems the system dedicates 1GB to the video. This worked perfectly.
- Product doesn't meet specs
     By A1FPMD7ST2JMKG on 2008-10-17
Product is reflected as 1 gb ram on asus eee pc 1000h instead of 2 gb; also, it seems more sluggish than pre-installed 1 gb ram on the 1000h. Amazon review: "not happy at all", By T. Kandil on September 29, 2008 had same problem I'm having. Had to return product to Amazon for a full refund.
- Beware of this chip in an ASUS Eee 1000h
     By A2AZ98NO6FIGY6 on 2008-10-18
This is the third recent review reporting that an ASUS Eee 1000h only recognizes 1 gb of the 2 gb memory on this chip, which Amazon is promoting for use in that computer via a link on the computer's page. Either many of these chips have a problem in the Asus or the returns are being sent out again. The package I received was one that clearly had been opened before. In either case, time and money are better spent on a different SODIMM.
- Easy upgrade
     By A1COPFFRMIXFDM on 2008-11-08
I definitely wanted to upgrade my EEE 1000H from 1GB to 2GB. Replacing the 1GB stick wasn't particularly difficult, but I did experience the same problem that most reviewers here did after installing the 2GB stick. Namely, that the BIOS had to be updated before the new memory was recognized. Fortunately, after reading the reviews here, I figured out how to do it and now the memory has been recognized. Hooray.
- Cheap and simple upgrade for an Eee 901
     By A2QYZET30IH2AI on 2008-11-14
Not much to say - flawless 2GB of RAM suitable for an EeePC 901. Just open a flap underneath (2 screws), tease apart the grips on either side of the old SoDIMM & it pops up at an angle for removal. Insert the new one, lower until it clicks, put the lid back on, power up, there's your 2GB of RAM (NB earlier versions of Linux Eees can only see 1GB of RAM, but installing the latest BIOS upgrades extends the limit).
- 2GB SODIMM
     By A22KESPXI0YDPE on 2008-11-23
I bought this memory module at the same time as I bought a Eee notebook computer. I performed the 1GB memory replacement with the 2GB SODIMM easily.
The most confusing part was getting the computer and operating system to recognize the presence of the additional memory. It required a boot into the BIOS to let the hardware recognize and update plug and play info.
On the Eee computer, using F2 on a cold restart did the job. No manual changes were made to the BIOS. The process was automatic. A simple save and exit following the bootup did the job.
- Works Fine in my Asus EEE
     By A12O5SEIF162P8 on 2008-07-08
I bought this to upgrade my Asus EEE Galaxy, which came with 512 Megs. I am running XP Home, so the extra RAM is all recognized. I eliminated my paging file, which freed space, and the system is noticeably faster. Installation was easy.
- Good cheap netbook upgrade
     By A1OC15662AVC56 on 2008-10-10
For around 20 bucks after rebate, this 2 GB of SDRAM from OCZ is an excellent deal. I installed it with no problems in my ASUS 1000H netbook, with the system recognizing the 2 GB upon booting. Just make sure you seat the memory into the socket/slot firmly before pushing the raised edge of the module down flat to complete installation.
Although this memory upgrade wasn't necessary for my ASUS 1000H netbook (running Ubuntu) in going about its typical netbook tasks, it was useful for my running resource-hogging virtual machines via Virtual Box. If you're looking for an easy netbook hardware upgrade, this is a good one.
- Great Memory Product
     By AEA7IOROT62QM on 2008-10-16
I ordered this memory stick for a mini note book and it has been great. It fit just fine, going into the memory slot. It allowed my computer to move through applications considerably faster that before with only a 1 gig ship. Good buy and product.
- Like others', only 1GB available after install. Why didn't I listen?
     By ASIUDXST0XPH on 2008-11-02
I, too, noticed that there was only 1GB available (according to MS Windows XP) after my upgrade. However, I didn't notice that there was a fix available (the "update BIOS" method mentioned in another review) until after I returned my memory stick. Sure enough, when I received a memory stick from another seller I had the same issue until I updated the BIOS! I am still giving a poor review because this memory NEEDS TO COME WITH INSTRUCTIONS for the ASUS eee 1000h (and possibly other "fast boot" computers).
- AWEOMSE!!! VERY HAPPY now with my EEE 900
     By AF4TCPADLG1FR on 2008-11-14
I have an Asus EEE 900 with 4gb internal HD i couldnt find my model at amazon, so i was worried if this chip would work. I read the reviews here and took a chance and ordered this cheap little upgrade..
maaan im happy i did, my EEE 900 boots up SOOOOO much faster and runs programs much quicker,
i didnt have to adjust anythign in the bios or update my bios at all.

- 2GB chip
     By A1RH6X3MQCJ5JJ on 2008-09-14
Used this with another 1GB chip to triple my RAM. My toshiba is faster than ever.
- Great buy!
     By ACIFDP1REBT4J on 2008-09-15
This memory came quickly, installed easily, and has performed flawlessly. As soon as I can afford it I'll be getting another one so that I have 4gb in my laptop. But the 2.5gb is sure a lot better than 1gb was!
BTW, I put it in an Acer 7520-5757.
- Same problem as previous customer, I was sold 1gb of ram.
     By A38OT3UYNN4OE3 on 2008-10-27
I had the same problem as previous customers in getting 1gb instead of the advertised 2gb. I returned the product and I have yet to receive my refund.
