  I use my notebook for accounting & my standard notebook keyboard doesn't have a number pad. This handy little device offers quick launch keys to your pc's calculator, excel, & the internet without any prior set-up. It has a place on the back to store its USB connector & has a great little pouch to protect it from dings & scratches. I highly recommend this product! It's a little pricey, but anyone who uses their number keys a lot will be glad they splurged!

  I just purchased a Macbook and will use both windows and mac on it.
  This keypad works fine with the windows side, but the mac os doesn't see most of the buttons including the numbers!
  
  It maybe the fault of the mac system.
  
  
  

• Not Just For Noteboooks!

  I bought this to replace a wired 10-key touch pad for my DESKTOP computer whose entertainment-focused keyboard lacks a 10-key, and I'm flat out impressed by the quality of the Logitech Cordless Number Pad "for Notebooks".
  
  It's elegant and, so far, nearly flawless. There's no response time to wake it up as with some wireless products. The USB receiver fits nicely into the unit and the carrying case, Excel/Calculator/Internet Explorer buttons and energy-saving power button are all nice features. Also, since it's wireless, there's less clutter on my desk now!
  
  The only thing I can't comment on yet is the battery life since I've only had the product for a week. If the unit lives up to its "6-month battery life" claim, I'll go so far as to say this is one of my most recommended purchases.
  
  The only improvement I'd wish for is Bluetooth capability to free-up the USB port the wireless receiver requires.
  
  FOLLOW UP: I ended up getting a little over 2 months of battery life off of 24/7 use of this device. That's a little short of the 6 month claim, but I think it's fairly impressive, nonetheless!

  I really do like this number pad. I recently bought the DiNovo Edge keyboard and love it with one exception, it doesn't have a number pad. I use spreadsheets enough that I feel I need a numberpad, so I bought this and it's great with two exceptions.
  The radio receiver is pretty big. If I have the laptop on my lap and want to use the number pad, the receiver is awkward, in the USB ports. Second Logitech can't seem to settle on a standard 2.4 GHZ or Bluetooth. I wish they would settle on one and release everything with which ever they choose. I tried plugging just one of the receivers into a USB port and hoped it would receognize both the number pad and the keyboard, but I couldn't get the two wo work, unless both receivers were plugged in, 2.4 GHz and my bluetooth receiver. Ao in order to use the diNovo Keyboard and this numberpad, I have to use 2 USB ports. Not a major problem, but annoying and prevents me from giving this item a 5.

  This is a good number pad keyboard for laptops. Extremely easy to connect and install (just plug in the included USB dongle, which stores in a slot underneath the device when not in use). No software is required. Comes with nice case. Keypad has sturdy feel and the keys are equivalent to that of a standard keyboard, except for the additional "tab", and top row of buttons "=", "(", ")", and "Back". For some inexplicable reason, the keypad does not have a "clear" key. Instead of having quicklauch keys for Excel and IE at the top row, it would be nice to have a "clear" key. Saves having to use the mouse with the calculator. In the alternantive, it would be cool if the keys were customizable like most other Logitech devices.

  Using the number pad on my desktop has become second nature. Recently I have been using my notebook more and more, but when it came time to pay the bills, work a spreadsheet, or anything involving numbers, I was frustrated having to hunt and peck. The Logitech Cordless Number Pad is the perfect solution. The size is perfect, easily readable, nice portable case, and extra features, such as a button for internet, another to open Excel. With wireless, I can hold it in my hand and watch the screen. Very versatile; I would definitely purchase again.
  
  
• Useless for me...

  I purchased this keypad thinking it would actually operate as a full-fledged numeric keypad (with num lock and cursor direction keys).
  
  The goal was to use it for entering data and moving around spreadsheets as I would a normal keypad. But, even more importantly, to use it from within my favorite terminal emulator on an OpenVMS system (which uses every key on the keypad to move around in the built-in editors). The latter works quite well with full-fledged USB plug-in keyboards.
  
  Anyhow, needless to say, without the number lock and cursor movement keys, this otherwise sturdy and apparently well-built keypad is a paper weight. I would give it zero stars, but apparently Amazon will not let me.
  
  
  
  
• Great Product

  I bought this for my wife for Christmas and she loves it. She has to enter a lot of data on her laptop computer and this number pad was the perfect item. I wanted to avoid the number pads with cords because of the lead warnings so I went with the wireless. It was super easy to setup, we just put in the batteries which were included with the product, plugged in the USB stick and it worked. No configuration. It also has a nifty little calculator button that launches the Calculator application found on the PC.

  Well, I've bought this one to fix the lack of numpad of my Logitech Dinovo Edge bluetooth keyboard, and do the job! (but aesthetically this NUMPAD needs to be redesined, it too much simple to cost 40$) it comes with a 2,4GHZ usb receiver that have a really great range!, comfortable to use, includes extra shortcuts keys to iexplorer, excel and of course, calculator... It dont have 5 star because of two things:
  
  Dont have lithium battery (uses 2 AAA batteries... and it cost 40$!!??)
  Weights a lot!

  I use this product almost every day at work & am very pleased with it. I also own a Logitech wireless mouse which I am quite pleased with. This was no exception.
  
  I like the absence of a cord which would only get in the way. I don't know about anyone else but I already have a mess of USB cords littering my desk. It also has all the features I could ask for such as a tab & backspace key. Both of which where lacking in other similar products. I even find the calculator & Excel hot-keys useful, although I didn't think so at first.
  
  The only cons I can think of are that there are no USB ports which most similar products have. Also (and this is nitpicking) the device could be a bit heavier, as it seems to jump a bit when my hand is really flying across the keypad.

  I am so happy I invested in this item. It's easy to use and makes entering numbers with my laptop a thousand percent faster and easier. I hated using the number keys on my laptop. The product is nicely made and the keys feel great! I definitely recommend this item to anyone who has to do lots of data entry involving numbers.

  I bought this product for my wife. She uses a laptop at her office and it was a complete hassle for her to work in Excel and her sales. Curiosity picked up and we found this product. Now she finishes in half the time and doesn't hate her sales report!!!!!! Only complain is why didn't find this sooner!!!!!

  Great for traveling. The only thing i dislike about the device is the huge USB receiver. I wish i could just my nano receiver to power both. Otherwise i highly recommend for those with a laptop.

  I love this number pad! So many great features - wireless makes it invaluable. One button brings up a calculator, one button automatically opens Excel, one button opens the internet. It's well worth the cost. It's a life saver. And it looks very cool Logitech knows how to make computer gadgets sexy!

  Logitech Cordless Number Pad works great with my notebook. It is very useful because my notebook doesn't have the full keyboard. It is easy to install because all you need to do is plug in the USB and you ready to go, no programs necessary for this product installation.

  After having looked forever for a bluetooth version of this, I decided to just go ahead and get this one. 20 bucks wasn't too bad. I actually really enjoy this piece of equipment. It's well built and feels very solid, and finished. I am happy, and the only reason it got 4 stars is because I would love a bluetooth version.

  This pad worked right out of the box on my Dell laptop with Vista OS. Just plugged in the USB adapter. That's all. The keys are springy and feel good when pressed, not like laptop keys. They feel like real keyboard keys. It also works if the USB port is on the other side of the laptop than the pad.
  
  I bought this for my accounting classes because I didn't want to buy a huge 17" laptop and I cannot hunt and peck for number keys in a row, on a regular laptop keyboard.

  For a simple product, this is very nice. Attractive in appearance. Best of all, there are three handy buttons on top for the calculator program, MS Excel, or for the internet. You can do quite a bit with this little thing. I like it and use it all the time.

  I'm a big fan; the only thing that kept it from getting that fifth star is the case. My bag is usually packed out, and I would have liked if Logitech had given us a hard case with this rather than a soft. Hopefully the keypad will hold up to some abuse anyways in its soft case in my packed bag on the back of the bicycle.

  This cordless number pad fits the bill for easy use and travel. I wont leave home without it if I am carrying by laptop. A cordless mouse is also a great companion (I hate those touchy touch-pads!)

  I was just telling my son last week how much I love Logitech. I love my Logitech wireless mouse, and now, I love this Logitech number pad. The buttons are easy to use, and very conveniently, it has 3 buttons at the top, that will instantly bring up a new Excel spreadsheet, an Internet browser, or the Microsoft calculator.
