nothing not to like By A1QCJOGQL05KRI on 2007-12-02
I got one of these last year because i wanted a strong heater in a small package, small footprint, to use in my bathroom, because the built in heater stopped working. It's perfect for heating a small room like that. Then i got another one for my bedroom, it's quiet, strong, and small, it fit into a small space near the bed. Then, i got a third one for the living room. The living room is a large room, and i use the heater like a small fire place, it really pumps out the heat. It's not going to heat the whole living room, but sitting next to it feels like sitting next to a small fire for warmth, very pleasant, not too hot when close to it, just a nice strong warmth. In the living room, the central heating doesn't do that well heating the lower part of the room on a cold night, the heat rises and it can be set on a high temperature and still be cold where we sit, so we use these heaters to warm up our space, nice source of heat, very portable, lightweight, sturdy. No complaints, it's perfect for what i use it for.
Great For a Small Room By A3ASE4TZL0QYZV on 2007-11-25
This is a handy little heater that serves its intended purpose well - heating a small room. I use it to take the chill off my computer room which is not usually heated like the rest of the house since I'm not in there all that often. The unit itself is plastic with a metal grille, but it feels very sturdy and well made. The fan noise level is acceptable. It is far from silent, but is quiet enough that it doesn't interfere. The controls are straight-forward. One dial is the power dial which has 4 settings: Off - Fan - Low - High. The other dial is the thermostat with an infinite range of settings between - and +. (I've found that just below the halfway point is very comfortable, but then again, the winters in California aren't exactly subarctic)
I'd recommend this for anyone with a small area to heat. a bedroom, computer room, sewing room, etc. (mine's in a room about 12 foot square). I doubt it would efficiently heat a room that was too much larger.
Great Product By A18QW19A1XYVK7 on 2007-12-02
Have had this heater for nearly four years and it has sustained 3 moves with me. Still works great and heats bedroom effectively.
Thermostat is adjustable--the fan speeds are not. By A3PD80PD7Q5VXT on 2008-02-10
I use this in my office which is fairly small. On cold days the office temps can drop to 65 degrees. I put the heater under my counter-style desk to hold the heat closer to my feet. Even then I need to have the position of the heater balanced between my 2 feet in order to feel the heat on both feet. And its only about 6" from my toes. However, on the warmer days where the office temp is more like 67-69 degrees, then it seems to do a better job of heating the whole area under my desk. However, I'm greatly frustrated that I cannot tell any difference between the 1st & 2nd speeds on this fan. And like the other reviewers--I am frustrated that there is no real "turn-off" switch. Unlike the one guy who didn't mind pulling the plug out to turn it off, my office has very few outlets & I'd have to crawl under my desk to plug & unplug it in.
Oh well, it does keep me warmer, with a moderate amount of fan-noise which at times is frustrating when I interview my clients.
An Excellent Personal Heater By A1315ZK1VKHJ on 2008-01-17
This heater is small efficient and gets the job done. It even has a thermostat that switches off the heat when the desired temperature is reached. Its perfect for a bedroom or other small spaces. Why heat a house when you want just a warm room ? :)
The only downside to this heater is that it is slightly loud. Its not a pain or major annoyance, but you can certainly hear the buzz of the fan. All said and done, this is a great product. I would recommend to anyone.
- Great little heater
     By A3QYDL5CDNYN66 on 2008-10-08
Cycles on and off, heats a big space in little time. One big caveat: it's loud -- altho I got used to sleeping with it in the bedroom.
- Terrific little heater that really does the job
     By A19KCXFZABKG0M on 2008-01-25
I bought this little baby for my office, which is about 20' x 10' has large windows and is always cold. The Lasko had no problem heating the office up -- in about 5 minutes. Once at my comfortable heat level, I was able to turn it down to half power and low temp to maintain. I really like this little machine. The fan is a little loud, but its just consistent white noise, so it actually muffles sound outside my office.
I would buy it again. Great product.
- Mini space heater
     By A1ITUVVU2H13W9 on 2008-02-15
This product works well, but only in small rooms. My office is approximately 11'x12' and is located in a construction trailer. I use this heater in my office and it keeps the room decently warm. I wouldn't recommend it for anything bigger than about the size of my office.
- Excellent item
     By A1RB9NXBBG1SQI on 2008-10-03
Very pleased with this item. I once borrowed a much more expensive heater, and it was no
better than this Lasko. In fact, the expensive one was much less practical because it was not easy to move around. A reviewer mentioned that the Lasko does not have a turn off switch, but that is not really correct; when it is in the standby mode, it is off. It also should be noted that the build quality of the item is excellent. Advice to prospective buyers: don't let the low price fool you.
- great little heater
     By A9DAN4YPYXNNG on 2008-10-07
no complaints ..cheap, and does a geat job!! remember this thing is small, it willnot heat your garage or even a large living room..it does however heat a bathroom or a small bedroom...one consumer review states he puts his feet 6 inches from this heater? i dont know how he can do that without cooking his feet??
- Good for the price
     By A1GVU5SQG77G62 on 2008-08-29
It's very effective and heats up the room fast.
The only downside is the noisy fan (hence 4 stars). But it seems like my 10 months old twins are already used to the noise, so I guess I have nothing really to complain about.
- Lasko Ceramic Heater
     By A2377NBZ0NNH82 on 2008-11-09
Lasko warms nicely but thermostat is such that heater stays on a long time (5 minutes or more) but doesn't come back on for a long time, maybe 30-60 minutes. It's the opposite of another heater I have which comes on frequently for a short time each cycle. So with the Lasko you get almost too warm by the time the thermostat shuts it off, but temperature in room has to drop quite a bit for the thermostat to turn it back on. I find myself manually turning it on and off via thermostat.
- Horrible product
     By ATJBPH31D9DS on 2008-11-14
This is a tiny fan, was shocked how small it was when I saw the box. The heat settings are adjustable, but the fan speed isn't. It is on full blast. The fan is incredibly LOUD. It's a tiny fan trying to blow air through a 4" X 4" opening. It has to run at high speed therefore causing all that noise. But, if you put your hand in front of this thing, you can barely feel any air coming out. All that noise for a light breeze! Don't plan on sleeping in the same room with this, it'll keep you up. This thing is going back!
- Ceramic Heater
     By A2MVB5CTJ88BFB on 2008-03-27
I will admit that I was apprehensive when I thought about purchasing this. It was a low price, but the reviews I read were mainly positive. This heater is the answer to the chilly morning when you are the first one out of the bed, and the house is freezing cold. I use it most days and am completely, and thoroughly satisfied. It has a strong heat output. So little, but so powerful--well worth the money. I plan to get another one soon for the next winter season.
- Good little heater

Pretty good heater for the price. Not too noisy. I'd buy it again.

My wife works in an office where the summer air conditioning is a little too cool for her. She wanted a small, personal heat that would fit neatly under her desk and keep her feet warm, but was unable to find one in the retail stores around her office. So, she asked me to help. I found the lasko Ceramic Heater on Amazon and it had all the features she was looking for. After six weeks of daily use, she's very pleased.
- I love this heater
     By A3AOKU0NJ2PB1T on 2008-10-04
I use this heater to keep away the chill (overactive AC at work). I definitely does the job without taking up much space. It is now very cozy at my desk. I like the fact that it cycles on/off so once I set the desired temp. I don't have to fiddle with it for the rest of the day.
- Good quality for the money
     By A3BABROXSK8M9A on 2008-10-21
This is a good product for a small space. It is a bit loud, but not any louder than the fan on my fireplace insert (wood burning stove). The noise is easy to get used to. The heat output is very good even on the lower setting, and takes little or no time to start heating when it clicks on. The thermostat controll is easy to set, and I feel safer about fire risk with that and the automatic safety shut-off. I have a small bedroom that I am using this for, and it works perfectly. I don't think this would be that good for bigger rooms.
- Perfect for those with small rooms and no small children
     By A1816I5GESTEPZ on 2008-10-21
I bought this heater to supplement my home's central heatting system. I have several small rooms, so I bought 2 of these. It has 3 fan speed settings:Fan only, lo heat, high heat. It is tiny, so it fits nearly anywhere you would need it. Yet, it puts out a large amount of heat, so it can warm you up quickly. It has a thermostat, so it will turn on and off to regulate temperature. It is not meant to be used in a bathroom because it's not waterproof. Ironically, it works best in a bathroom. I put one in there, and make sure it doesn't get wet. The thermostat works fine, but only in a room small enough for the heater to shut off after the desired temperature is reached. It took 8 hours to heat the bathroom from 64 to 70 degrees and shut itself off. In even a small room, the heater will seemingly never put off enough heat to have the thermostat function correctly. In small rooms it works great as a directional heater, throwing a good amount of heat 5-6 feet away. It's fairly quiet considering it uses a fan, but unless you're a fairly heavy sleeper, I wouldn't use it in a bedroom. There is also no stand, so I had to put it on my own stand to warm my upper body, although it's small size makes it ideal for under the desk. My biggest concern, is it's lack of a shut-off switch should it over-turn. It has an over-heat shut-off, but if you have pets or small children who could knock this over, I would look elsewhere. The front panel doesn't get very hot, but it gets hot enough that I would be very concerned that it doesn't shut-off if turned over. Since I have no pets or small children, it works perfect for my needs, and I recommend this heater.
- Efficient and Affordable
     By A1EH82O3ATS9XP on 2008-01-25
I had an old heater that only provided heat to a small area and burned you when it was on. This heater works great in comparison. It provides a nice amount of heat that doesn't seem to provide a burning sensation. The adjustable thermostat and the second lower-heat setting are also nice additions. I would definitely recommend it to anybody looking for a efficient low-priced personal heater. Receiving free shipping was also a bonus.
- Great heater

Small, cheap and it heats up the entire room.
What more could you want?
- great little heater
     By A27H9K6ILWDT6L on 2008-02-09
This heater puts out a lot of heat for its size. The only thing I did not like about it was that it shuts off and on a lot when trying to use the thermostat feature. Better to just turn it all the way up and then down when you want it to shut off.
- Toasty
     By A3VRKKH5OD86H8 on 2008-02-19
If you're looking for a small heater, this is the one to choose. It's small but it's powerful and you can adjust the thermostat. I was impressed that a heater so small could actually heat an entire room.
- Great little product
     By A2I2GMRWXZWDWN on 2008-02-27
This is a great little heater, very compact but mighty. It is not as noisy as some space heaters I have used, and it provides a lot of warmth. It is especially good for small rooms and the price is very affordable.
- One Cool Heater
     By A2Y15V0XX965CL on 2008-07-15
I love this heater. It is pretty quiet, but probably not as quiet as it could be. I love having it be so versitle. Either it just blows room temperature air, hot air or even hotter air. The size is good too. Doesn't take up much space.
- Great office heater
     By A2EC0TUHLXAZMO on 2008-08-30
I recommend this heater to anyone who works in an office environment that stays cold. It wouldn't heat an entire room but it sure does keep you toasty. I haven't moved past the first level and I'm nice and warm. It is worth every penny I paid for it.
- Great little heater!
     By AWEZZRKQ7VDGP on 2008-09-10
It's perfect for me. I use it to heat up around my desk. I just have it blowing right on me. If I leave it running long enough it will heat up my whole room. Great product. I think I'll buy another really soon!
- HEATER FOR OFFICE
     By A1DOKS56E3IHNL on 2008-09-15
THIS HEATER WORKS WELL. ITS SMALL ENOUGH TO FIT INTO MY LOCKER AT WORK IN ORDER TO KEEP WARM IN AN AIR CONDITIONED OFFICE. I RECOMMEND TO ANYONE WHO SUFFERS FROM THE CHILL OF OFFICE AIR.
- Big performance at a small price
     By A24J49Z64YGQK4 on 2008-10-19
I'm very happy with this heater. It does a very good job for a low price. Some of the other reviewers were complaining because it never turns off and they had to unplug it. The light on the unit is nothing more than an small LED, which is wired in before the off switch. There are no additional converters etc. inside drawing voltage when it is turned off. The off switch permanently switches the unit off and the draw from the small LED,is probably less then 10mili amps.
I bought this fan to replace one I used in my 18 month old son's room which lacked a thermostat I wanted something that provided white noise and kept the temperature consistent in the winter. The problem I had is the fan does not run continuously. I.e. when the heater shuts down via the thermostat the fan shuts off as well. I opened the fan up and via some simple rewiring solved the problem such that in heat mode the fan will run continuously while the heating element will still turn off and on as desired.
The thermostat is also very sensitive, so it takes a little trial and error to get the temperature just right. If you lose patience with things such as this I would recommend that you get a heater with a digital thermostat. This heater though provides great bang for the buck.
- Heat on Demand
     By A3IRJQ3K8S6BXB on 2008-03-01
Portable heat on demand. With an on/off switch. However I would still unplug if not using for a while (LED always is on when it is plugged in).
Unit produces an adequate amount of directed heat, but I would not leave it on for long periods of time un-attended!
