Good Budget Drive By A3V2P1ZV2LETF3 on 2007-11-28
I bought this drive because it was on sale from Circuit City and was very reasonably priced for the storage size (4GB). It is my first thumb drive. It is extremely compact and very very light. The build quality seems decent, but not extraordinary. The thumb slider works well, and it is nice not to have to worry about losing a cap for the USB drive.
One thing to keep in mind is that this is not the fastest drive in the world. It took a good while to transfer 2GB of files onto the drive. While this is not an issue for my purposes, you might want to keep this in mind if you are intending to use the drive to transfer large amounts of data back and forth. For me, I just want a back up of many files and be able to pull them off the drive when I need to and the drive works very well for that.
The price storage ratio really can't be beat - 4GB - which would have cost a king's ransom before, is now rather affordable with this drive.
In operation, the drive was very easy to use. Just plug it in and it works. Drive packaging says Vista compatible, and it comes from Kingston which makes a generally good product.
If you just need a reasonably priced drive to store files and be very light so that you don't notice it, then this is the drive for you.

As an update to this review, I've now used the drive on several different computers and it has worked flawlessly on each. It is also much much faster than it was the first time I used it. This leads me to believe that the problem was with the network from which I was copying files and had nothing to do with this drive. Thus, I would probably increase my review to 4 1/2 stars, with a 5 stars to be given if it had a metal casing. The plastic casings on all of these drives seems a little flimsy. Otherwise, an excellent drive.
KINGSTON IS ALWAYS THE BEST! WONDERFUL PRODUCT! By ABDR6IJ93HFIO on 2008-01-31
Before I bought this, I owned several of the older Kingston Flash Drives with the white top. When I saw this one with the slider bar and no top to worry with, I had to have it. Works great and my data transfers very quickly. The slider is a little stiff, however, the flash drive is still new and hopefully it will loosen up a bit. All in all a well made unit. Highly recommend this one. It beats the SanDisk because there is not USELESS U3 software and this flash drive loads very quickly!
Great By AAXUSC3RGM4ZJ on 2008-02-20
This is a great flash drive for $25. It's a reasonable size & doesn't need a cover because the port is retractable. It runs fast off a USB 2.0 port. There is no annoying preloaded software like some drives have. It works fine for me with both Vista and XP. I'd recommend this for anyone needing a 4gb flash drive.
Not bad but problematicly fragile By A1CS5WTPO40FPA on 2008-04-15
Biggest issues:
1>
There is nothing I know of small enough to fasten to the back of it to make it "lanyard" ready. Maybe it isn't supposed to be, but it looks like there was an intention of having the ability to do such a thing.
2>
It fell off my desk (first time) and separated into 3 pieces. It still works, but is held together with scotch tape. I would like to have something a bit more sturdy. I've had a mug survive the same fall intact.
--of course if was attached to a lanyard, it wouldn't have been sitting on my desk....
It isn't unreliable, but I wouldn't buy it again because of he fragility.
Great for Backups By A1T4AF1NZYQKOF on 2008-02-15
Got this little flash drive to back up our photos but ended up needing a bigger flash drive! I use it to back up other files now. It has a fast transfer rate, and I like the retractable connector. It's a little bit long, though, which is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars.
- Good performance, good price
     By AA8AXDU6BXN7G on 2008-02-18
DataTraveler 110 is the standard flash drive that everyone must have, it has enough space to store and transfer files between home and office. With a very good data transfer's speed, that it's even compatible with Vista ReadyBoost.
It have a convenient activity indicator LED with the symbol of Kingston. The USB connector is safely housed inside the sleek case.

It came quickly, and worked the second I plugged it into my USB slot; great product and handy size; I like the way I can slide the USB connecter out of harms way without needing a cap. Great product!

this freed up a ton of space on my computer. I put all of my digital pics on here. Fantastic!
- perfomance, elegant
     By ABAH499V6282D on 2008-05-25
I bought this product some days ago, and I made some tests on it, and it works fast, I copied a 1.1gb file in 1'51" (one minute and fifty one seconds)..
The usb recognition was clean and fast..it's named as Datatraveler 2.0
You can see a perfomance test picture I took, on the product images..
The black color is excellent, very elegant..
Just push the button to show up or to hide the usb connector..
- Great Bargain for Many Needs
     By A1GQPGYMU1RSGK on 2008-07-04
Pros:
* Loving the capless design for travel
* BIG ol' value!
* Available backed by Amazon, whose return policy makes me willing to try out most anything
Cons:
* Slower `n beans...though not molasses in January.
* Works with Vista, but not Vista ReadyBoost compatible
* Aesthetically, feels light, label is a loose plastic stick-on, slider button is stiff yet so far reliable
* Doesn't resemble Scarlett Johansson even on the coldest nights.
Fits the bill nicely for my wife--who allowed me to buy it SOLELY because of the lack of S.J. resemblance--who backs up her memoirs onto it. Sold at a price that can't be beat for the capacity and trustworthy brand name that comes with it. I recommend it strongly unless you need to move huge amounts of files on and off regularly.
- Great, but feels cheap
     By A3M1BNMWE8A633 on 2008-03-17
This thumbdrive is quite quick with data transfers. Unfortunately, it also feels kinda cheap. It does what it's meant to do well though, so it gets a 4/5.
- just what i need
     By A105CX9ZOHSR50 on 2008-06-27
You get what you see. Nice that it locks in position when you open it. Also, it has an LED you don't notice from the pic.
- Kingston Data Traveler
     By A2PPNU3MI46TD8 on 2008-04-05
I am completely satisfied and impressed with the Kingston. In fact, it is so small and portable, it could easily get misplaced or lost. I recommend attaching it to a neck cord. The only drawback is the difficulty to inserting such a cord through the tiny opening.
- works great
     By A105YOBJOUIBW0 on 2008-04-18
Thought it was a good price for a 4GB usb drive. Works perfect, enough said.
- great produce, attractive price
     By AVS2UXDMEYAVS on 2008-04-28
Easy to use, capless, though not the fastest, but I'm very happy with it, especially the price!
- Very good
     By A6FNFU2K5KF6T on 2008-05-05
It is a good pendrive, fast, the only thing I did not like the size: 3.7 GB.
- my first flash drive
     By ALROVTN1MB59X on 2008-05-05
this is my first purchase on amazon.com and my first flash drive and I have to say that I love this product. It has lots of storage space, and I only needed to use it for music. I have lots of music on here, my only drawback is I should have bought a few more..and I think I will.
- as advertised
     By A28LI4KXSRSVLY on 2008-05-25
What can you say, works great, you may find people though sitting there with it and pushing the connector in and out (the same people who click pens I think), but it works great, is slim enough to double up with another flash drive on laptop paired USB outlets (not a slot hog).Would have been nice though if a lanyard was provided (I used an old one I had)since there is a slot for one. Good experience with Kingston Warranty also on an earlier less expensive drive (500MB) that went south on me. No questions asked and quickly replaced.
- Working Fine
     By AHIK7BUXFRMT8 on 2008-05-02
I recently bought two of the Kingston flash drives, one 2 GB and one 4 GB. We are using them on graphics files and they have both worked as advertised. The only minor difficulty has been inserting them into the USB ports. They have to be precisely lined up to do properly insert the drive; that is just a characteristic of the USB port I suppose but requires some careful attention. I've also noticed that holding the thumb slider on the side of the drive that extends the plug is somewhat tricky. It keeps wanting to slide back into the drive housing.
Once installed it does work well. The window showing the drive contents is automatically displayed on the screen. You may want to check my comments on the other drive about assigning drive letters if you are having any problems with the Kingston drive window automatically displaying.
Both the 2 GB and the 4 GB have prodigious capacity. Remembering vividly the limitations of the 1.44 MB floppy and the 700 MB capacity of the CD-R one can get spoiled quickly by this level of storage capacity.

     By A2IOW6MZSW5WHU on 2008-05-09
Returned the product for refund. The product worked the first time I used it. The next time my computer would not recognize. It totally stopped working so returned. Probably will buy something different next time.
