  Kind words - I like ugly industrial things, it DID protect my phone when I dropped it.
  
  Not so kind - I dropped it once and it will never latch again. It's made of low grade aluminum - aircraft quality my patootie. It's like one of those covered clipboards, but cheaper.
  
  What I got doesn't really look like the photos - hinge is on the bottom, not the side, fewer grill openings. Maybe that's why the price dropped...
  
  It came with a plastic screen cover that in no way was touch screen compatible. Think plexiglass. I removed that and it does work - had to patch the rubber coating inside back together, though.
  
  For $9.99 you get what you pay for.

  I bought TWO of these covers because I have a desire to protect my "investment". I thought that being made of aluminum would offer that. HOWEVER......the phone will cut out in a call and the phone heats up....most likely shorting against the case or somesuch. I didn't spend $500 to turn my iPhone into garbage. I am VERY upset and maybe you'll read this before you make the same mistake I did.

  I change phones all the time. always buy 2 or 3 different cases for different uses: a light silicon, a leather luxury and a big but more protective hard (aluminium) case.
  So, you can say I'm a specialist. And I can state that, having this one you don't need other cases.
  Best I ever got! it's hard but it's light AND small.
  It has all the needed apertures (sound, ear sensor, voice, on and off, charge, etc) and is so beautifull.
  Best of all: the protective screen that comes with it is so cool: it's SO THIN (to be sensitive, it's really needed) that it has when arrives, TWO protective screens to the screen itself (like a sandwuich) and you take off one when you will install and the other one after you install... it's SO PERFECT!
  Last but nos least, the clip is very thin (thinner I'v ever seen) and it has that "brake" to avoid someone -or ouselves- to take the clip off the belt by mistake...

  I bought this for my husband about six weeks ago. He is a habitual phone-dropper and I wanted to get something for him that would look good at work on his belt (the swivel is great!) and keep that insanely expensive phone from becoming a broken pile of parts.
  
  So far he's dropped the phone plenty of times in parking lots and on other hard surfaces - the phone and the case are still in great shape! His boss liked how it looked quite a bit so we even got him one for his birthday.
  
  If this thing ever breaks, I'll be buying a duplicate to replace it, though I think it'll hold up for awhile yet.
  
  

• Caused too many problems to my phone

  I just got the Iphone as a Christmas gift and the following day after trying on all of the cases at the cell phone store I decided on this one. I thought that out of all of cases there, it not only looked sharp, but it would protect my phone the best. After putting my phone in this case I immediately began having problems with my phone, no reception being the biggest issues. I have driven back to the apple store 4 times since December 26, today they were going to swap my iphone for a new one when the tech noticed that once out of the case my phone worked like it was supposed too. He placed my case on his own Iphone and had the same problems that I had with mine!!!! another tech came over and told me not to use that case as the aluminum interferes with the phone (wish somebody would of told me this the first time I went to the apple store). I purchased a plastic case for my Iphone today and so far HAD NO problems!!!! Too bad that I bought two of these cases i will not be putting them back on on my Iphone.

  I am totally dsappionted with this case! Because of what I recieved I have had to order another. Unless you are going into the Outback or Bush don't buy this case. The phone bounces around in the case with little padding . I dont like it . I wish that I could have a refund or replacement.

  This is a very handy case that will protect your iPhone from scratches and other accidents... The touch screen protector shield is a must. Get this case if you want protection and don't realy care about appearance.

  i guess this case is ok if you are in for a quick fix to hold you over until you can get a real case. Not to happy with a metal case. It constantly has you worrying that you will scratch your phone. All i all, I would not recommend.

  this is a piece of junk it did not woek as advertised and would not hold my i phone secure. it fell once and sent the phone flying when i took it off my belt the clip came apart and i had springs and bits of plastic everywhere. skip this item.

  I was pretty disappointed with this case. The iPod does not fit very well, (The case is too big), and the iPod jiggles around too much. I also never relieved the screen protector. The belt clip is the worst I have ever seen, it is practically impossible to get your phone off the clip when it is attached. I lost numerous calls while trying to get my phone off the cheesy plastic clip.

  I was so excited to get what was promised in the picture...turned out that I ordered a mercedez made in Germany and instead go an immitation of a mercedez made in China...how the hell am i gonna use the touch screen if it's got a plexiglass cover over it....over all rating for this product.....-F..dont buy it..as for me ...i bet ill find something much better on the street of New York for much lesser..

  This was not a wise purchase. The clip that holds the case to a belt or waistband is made of light plastic and bends very easily. When it does, it can cause the case to come loose and fall off. The piece of the case that holds it in the clip came loose the first morning I had it, and the case fell out and onto a hardwood floor, opening and sending my iPhone flying. Additionally, the case is made of a very thin metal and I can't get it to stay latched, hence more iPhone flying out of the case at random. I've stopped using this case and urge others to get something sturdier. I thought I was getting a deal but it was a huge waste of money.

  Though I don't own any other case for this phone, I consider maybe a silicon case will be tighter. I had to add some extra padding at the front borders that solved the problem, because originally the phone was a bit loose inside. Other than that, I am satisfied with it.
  I guess there is no case that will protect the phone if dropped.

  The case I got came from PDAExtreme. It was a plastic case a plastic window over the touch screen with no hinges. I am sending it back. I spent 2 phone calls and several minutes on there website explaining what I was looking for. Hopefully will get the correct case this time and it will be metal with no plastic window you have to open to get to the touch screen.

  If bumped it bends easily and you have to readjust to keep case face closed. Screen cover scratches easy. I bought it to have a little more protection while at work. The price is low so it serves the purpose i bought it with, well.

  I bought this case because i thought the aluminum would protect my iphone well, without junking up the look of the phone. I was very disapointed in the case. The case was loose on the phone and the latch didn't seem to hold well. I felt the phone was less protected in the case then on it's own. I had bought the same case for my husband a few days earlier and have had the same problems. Wish I had waited til his shipped to buy mine! I would not recommend this case for anyone.

  I am not sure why others had so many complaints about this item, but I am so thankful I had someone buy it for Me. With the amount of times I have dropped My phone, I have yet to receive one scratch to it, which is a big shocker as I always break My phones (I hope I don't jinx Myself). I took off the belt clip and removed the screen protector just because I didn't feel I needed those functions and I have no complaints... in fact, I think that construction of the piece is very solid- sturdy aluminum with padded insides and a side snap that almost works too well (as sometimes I have to try harder than I'd like to get it open), but hey, when I drop My phone, it stays safe and intact!
