  • Good Quality Sound/Bad USB connection

    By A29YJCDGFA7Z7M on 2008-02-14
I have had two sets - the USB plug came apart in both models. I repurchased because the comfort and quality of sound are TOP NOTCH! If you will use them on desktop you can't go wrong, but for laptop and travel the USB connection WILL fall apart. I look forward to a new model update that might fix the connection issue.

  • Great headset!

    By A1F2UBTEMHFC8A on 2007-12-28
I am really pleased with my purchase of the Logitech ClearChat Comfort USB Headset. I had been so frustrated with the traditional headsets not holding up well. This headset is sturdy and the quality is good. Now I don't worry about static on my Internet phone calls.

  • So far so Great!... NOT ANYMORE

    By AYU404OSVUXQ2 on 2008-01-29
Okay, so 6 months later, after my sparkling review. i have to give this a thumbs down. at least my plantronics headset crapped out after 2 years
this thing didn't last 6 months and the microphone died.

i wouldn't really recommend this anymore

  • Great Headset

    By AO5B7TLBAHMK6 on 2008-03-22
There's definitely some functions about this headset I like. The USB capability instead of the usual use of plugging in the mic and the sound in lines is very handy. If you just want to turn off your speakers-- to avoid waking the neighbors, significant other, etc.-- all you have to do is plug them in and restart the application.
The sound coming through is very clear and the earphones are very comfortable. The headband is adjustable so that the earphones are at the right height.
The mic boom rotates easily and isn't intrusive at all. However it is not adjustable; so you cannot move it closer to your mouth, and might have to adjust the pickup on certain programs. I'm looking forward to trying this out on Team Fortress 2, especially after my last one died and I didn't even realize that the people on my team couldn't hear my voice.
But overall a great headset and I'm definitely glad I picked it up.

  • Perfect for podcasts, listening to music, internet telephone
    By A23GFTVIETX7DS on 2008-08-01
I love the Logictech ClearChat headset. The ear pieces are nicely padded, with excellent noise canceling sound. The rigid microphone boom can be lowered or raised, according to whether you want to record/talk or just listen. They work equally well with both Windows and Mac OS X machines, with no driver software required. Because they connect using a USB source, they are strictly for computers, however, and cannot be used with stereo systems or iPods.

Within minutes of opening the box and plugging the connection into a USB slot, I was able to create a high-quality podcast on my Mac using Garage Band, part of the Apple iLife '08 suite. (To hear the sound quality of the podcast, email me or go to my Amazon Connect page on my profile.) My Mac immediately identified the headset as a possible input/output device, although I had to manually change the previous settings to use it. The mute button, located halfway down the cord, works instantly, without any clicks, although it's not always easy to tell whether the blinking red light means the mike is muted (it does) or whether it should be a steady red light.

The sound quality is excellent, although obviously the source and medium can limit the quality. Just as important, the headset is extremely comfortable; I was able to wear the ClearChat for hours without any fatigue or discomfort. The wire leading from the headset to the mute button seems like it might be fragile, so people who walk around while wearing their headsets might encounter problems. All in all, the Logitech ClearChat is an excellent value.

  • My favorite headset yet!
    By A3BXXXV9JCUQMN on 2008-04-28
I've had a lot of headsets, a lot of headphones, and a lot of microphones.

As far as computer use goes, this headset is my favorite. The USB technology is great because it delivers pure digital sound in one connection and one wire. My computer (Windows XP) instantly recognized the headphones and they began working.

One great thing about this headset is that if you want to go back to speakers, you don't have to swap the 3.5mm plugs; you just unplug the headphones and it defaults back to the speakers, and when you plug the headphones back in it switches back to headphones.

The inline volume/mute is useful and it's digital rather than analog.

Now about comfort: these headphones don't look as comfortable as some of the really big cup earphones, but trust me they are far more comfortable. Not only are they soft and plush (leather), but they are so light it's easy to forget your wearing them. I can wear these for hours on end without any discomfort.

On the sound quality: probably the best sound quality you can get for a headset (phone/mic duo) under $100. Because they are USB, the signal is digital rather than analog and there is NEVER any type of static or popping etc. The mic is noise canceling (background noise no longer a problem) and the headphones are very clear and have pretty good range for what they are.

Overall this headset is more what you'd expect to pay around $70 for. They aren't as good for music as my Skullcandy smokin' buds headhphones which I use to listen to my iPhone, but they definitely get the job done for Gaming, Internet Conference/Calling, and General Use (Casual Music Listening, Narrating etc.) for desktops/laptops. Audiophiles definitely won't care much for these because they aren't amplified or high definition, but the casual user will definitely enjoy these headphones.

I also have the Panasonic RP-HTX7PP-K Retro Style Monitor Headphones and the sound quality is about the same, but the comfort and convenience of built in mic makes this headset better.

  • Excellent for the price
    By A1BPMP44EB94IK on 2008-02-14
Hooked this up to my iMac and had it configured in seconds. Build quality is surprisingly good for the price. There is padding on top but it lost one star because it could have used a bit more. By moving it around a bit on the top of your head it's fine but it you leave it in one place for more than an hour it will let you know. I've place orders for 2 more for my family.

  • Quality and affordable headset for Skype and multimedia
    By A304QXKZCK103Z on 2008-02-20
After reading some reviews by other users, I decided to go with the Logitech ClearChat Comfort USB Headset, which I am really pleased with the purchase.

It is truely plug-and-play, instantly recognized by Windows XP and work right out of the bubble pack.

This headset is sturdy and the quality is above-average. There is no static when using Skype.

I have been using it for multimedia as well, work just like a traditional headset, the sound quality is clear and dynamic.

  • Good value for money
    By A1WAFEQJMTHK3M on 2008-03-07
I have no problem with this USB headset. I have a big head and the headphones fit in nicely. The sound clarity is good both from the microphone and the audio headphones.
The only reason i give this product 4 stars is the fact i still use my Sony headphones whenever i am not voice chatting as their performance is better as headphones over these.

  • Pretty decent headphones
    By A3SCMXU1JR75FQ on 2008-04-23
These headphones do not work extremely well with Skype on a Mac. It is simply impossible to get the audio loud enough without making changes to the system audio settings.

The headband is tight on my large head. It puts enough pressure on my ears that my ears hurt where they are pressed against the arms of my glasses.

The audio quality coming out of the speakers as well as the quality of the microphone are both good. People on the other end of my skype calls tell me I sound great.

I would recommend these headphones for people who have the patience to change system audio settings on a Mac or for people who don't wear glasses or have very small armed/stemmed glasses.

  • Stupendous!
    By A28RRSCSZMALIQ on 2008-05-16
I have now owned this headset for over 6 months. I am a heavy online game player and I must say this headset is great! It interphases well with ingame sound systems. Truely comfortable on the ears, sound quality is wonderful! Durability is great! Clumsy as I am, have dropped it at least 10 times if not more on ceramic tile, my 10lb dog has walked on it several times, my 100lb dog has tangled up in the cord and pulled it full force 3 times :ps, large dog no longer allowed in computer room: and it is still working without a problem! The only fault I can find if you can consider it as that, is I sometimes sit on the volume control and mute myself or turn sound down, but think walking 2 miles a day may help that some . I have gone thru 4 different headsets before purchasing this one. Paid well over $100 for one of them and normally over $60 for the others. This one surpasses them all!

  • Logitech ClearChat Comfort USB Headset
    By ATI6A4ISVOQJ3 on 2008-02-22
Awesome head-set. Did a lot of research before buying a set, because I wanted a very particular feature. I play online games, so I wanted to be able to define what sounds where. So with USB speakers, and a USB headset, along with Vista, I can tell the OP to send game sound to the speakers, and my communication server to the headset.

    Just awesome.

Sounds is great, and mic is flawless.

  • Great USB Headset - a bit tight on my head
    By AHKB4MDC4VL21 on 2008-02-26
So far this is a great headset. The mic works well and the sound quality is good. It is a bit snug on my huge nugget but that seems to be a common theme with my head and headphones so I am beginning to think its my own fault, and not the manufacturers.

  • Simplicity at its Maximun
    By A29RXL1I0SYJ63 on 2008-06-21
I'm using this product with Mac OS 10.4.3 (Leopard). I bought this headset for 2 reasons:

1- Use Macspeech Dictate because I had to wear a cast for almost 3 months
    2- Skype

For Dictate, it worked very well. For Skype, it works impressively well. No drivers to install or anything, plug, configure Skype and talk. Highly recommended.

  • Great headset.
    By A3TCFYVPJCO97V on 2008-03-11
This headset is all that is claimed. The audio both ways is an improvement over the normal microphone and audio. I like it.

  • Nice headset
    By A2M97LIEZQLABU on 2008-04-25
I purchased the Logitech ClearChat Comfort to use with my HAM radio station for VOIP. It works extreamly well. It has great audio. I am very pleased with my purchase.

  • comfortable but microphone doesn't adjust
    By A10BK3VOSJDZCO on 2008-05-12
I'm using this product right now to type this review, and I think it is very comfortable and will probably last longer than the other headset I had. The microphone position seems difficult to get close enough to the corner of my mouth and that is essential for word recognition. I think I figured out a way now to make this adjustment by lowering the whole thing. Now hopefully things should be better. Maybe the product could have a more flexible microphone, so you could adjust it no matter where are you placed the headset on your head

  • Functional but not so comfortable
    By A25RM9U86Y9BMX on 2008-06-01
These deserve their high ratings but when I buy my next headset, I am willing to spend a bit more for more cushy / spacious / open-air earphone cups.

Technically solid, well-made and work as advertised so this is a good work horse product if you don't use for hours on end. Durable and relatively light-weight.

Recommended but I can't say I love them. Hope that helps a little.

  • Much happier with this headset!
    By A3SVGAKDPXH6P on 2008-06-02
I work from home and the previous headset I was using was a complete nightmare (Plantronics Audio 400 DSP Foldable USB PC Headset). The cord was too long and it kept getting tangled/rolled over by my chair and after only 3 months of use, there was a short in the wiring and the sound would bounce from ear to ear (driving me absolutely nuts).
When shopping for a new headset, I relied very heavily upon the reviews (especially when the price was low). This one reviewed well and cost about 10 dollars less. I have been using it for a couple of months now and couldn't be happier (only 4 stars because I haven't been using it for 6 months or more). It is VERY comfortable, much more sturdy and the sound quality both inbound and outbound, is crystal clear.
I highly recommend this headset...the low cost/high quality cannot be beat!

  • Good set but hurts my ears
    By A32CH196O6C7BA on 2008-06-11
I purchased this unit as my computer doesn't have a mic plug on the front, meaning when I switch between my speakers and using a mike I would have to crawl around behind the computer. I ordered these because of the promise of the usb plug (which Ihave on the front of the computer)

The units themselves are good solid construction with heavyweight usb plug and a microphone boom arm that doesn't look like it will break easily (like some do). Sound quality is good, with an acceptable amount of bass.

The usb thing works exactly as advertised on both XP and Vista. The sounds normally come out of my speakers. There is no software to load and when I plug in the headset, sounds suddenly come out of the headphones, it really is that easy.

I have noticed that when I am in a game such as WOW, that I have to exit the game and restart to have the game recognize the switch.

Unfortunately there is one thing that keeps me from giving it a 5 star rating. After about 2 hours of play I noticed my ears were hurting. The unit has a fairly tight tension and the old-style rubber earpieces and they started to hurt my ears.

The unit works good as advertised and looks like it won't break like so many others, but i will look for a lighter-weight unit with foam ear coverings that hopefully won't hurt my ears.

  • Very good product for the price
    By A1JDDY0ADQ650F on 2008-04-10
This headset is very comfortable. The sound quality is excellent, crisp and clear. No problems with the headset at all. I love it.

  • Comfortable, Clear Communication
    By A2VRIMRIPQF7D9 on 2008-04-28
I bought this after considering several options for headsets. After having used it heavily, I can confidently say Logitech has impressed me with this one.

    Pros:
    1. Crystal clear sound,
    2. Quick, automatic driver installation,
    3. Simple and accurate mic configuration instructions,
    4. Solid compatibility with Vista,
    5. Works perfectly with Skype, and
    6. Has a very comfortable fit (feels great even after using it for hours at a time).

    Cons:
    1. Nothing yet, but I'll keep you posted. :)

Strongly recommended. It may cost a little more than the average headset, but it's definitely worth it.

  • Good headset
    By A1SL3F4EX2RIVK on 2008-04-01
This headset is very comfortable for long periods of wearing. These headsets are used with our company's VOIP phone system and works perfectly.
I have nothing negative to say for this product it installed easily and have had no issues with it.

  • Great Product
    By A2WEA419Q4PQOY on 2008-04-07
I do freelance web design and I needed a good headset where people can hear me clearly. Every customer I've talked to, I've asked them all how clearly they can hear me and they have all told me they hear me just fine. They ask why I ask and I tell them I'm calling them through the computer and they just can't believe it. So yeah, this product is GREAT!!! (for me)

  • Very Good, and cheap.
    By AE7IYB59UKGGJ on 2008-05-20
Hi, I just got my headset, it is amazing for my needs. The microphone is very good, the sound quality is very clear, and best of all they are very comfortable. ( I have been wearing for 4 hours and my ears dont hurt.)

    I strongly recomand this item.

( I am not so sure about the usb jack, it kind of looks like it might fall apart.)

  • Amazing!
    By A37SOVXGJQCXWU on 2008-05-26
I am a big fan of Logitech's products. I expect great quality from it. My mouse, my webcam, and my previous headset were all satisfactory, with very few issues (if there ever were any). I bought this product to replace my old headset (I sat on it), and I am pleasantly surprised. The sound quality surpasses both my old headset (which was more expensive) and my speakers. The microphone is also very high quality. Also, the volume control on the wire was a bonus. It is especially useful when I am playing World of Warcraft with my XBox 360 controller while leaned back. I don't want to have to lean forward to hit the volume control on my keyboard. My only complaint is not about its design or its ability. My only complaint is that the mic is on the left. It feels funny. Otherwise, it is an excellent piece of electronics.

  • great product
    By A186DILZMR9UAO on 2008-05-27
I bought the headset because my brother in the Philippines asked me to. He is very computer savvy. We have cut down on our long distance phone bills & I don't have to buy long distance phone cards anymore. We talk through the internet all the time. The sound quality is excellent. I highly recommend this product to people who have access to the internet. The price is reasonable & will pay for itself in no time.

  • Works with the PS2,
    By A3TNB8N8SAO95W on 2008-06-04
I bought this Mic for the PS2 because I got tired of people complaining about me not having a Mic on Socom II.

The first thing I had to say about this when I got it in the mail was "What the hell"?

I was suprised at how small the Ear Phones were.
Also, the padded ear phones confused the heck out of me...
You see, they have these sleeves on them; and I thought I would be able to put my ear IN them, but I couldn't .

It looks like you're suppose to put your ears in them, so that the headphones won't shake off, but the thing is, that doesn't work!

You can tell just by looking at them that there is NO way you could fit your ears inside the little covering the Ear Phones provide.
    Not in a million years.

So then, what is the point? I mean I just don't get the design.
Why have like a circular sleeve on the Ear Phones if I can't put your ear in them?

If they just serve as cushions then why the hole in the middle?
Is it so that the sound can come through?
Couldn't there have been a better way, to do this though?

    I don't know...
The puzzling questions aside, the headphones work great.
They do what they're supposed to do & get the job done :\

    Oh & one more thing. . .
If you're thinking about buying this for the PS2 like I did, be warned that you cannot adjust the volume of the headset when using it with the PS2. Instead you'll have to adjust the headsets volume through Socom's Audio Options. The reason being: This headset was made primarily for the PC/Mac.

  • Skip this for MacOSX (10.5.2)
    By A30KH1VF0JL9HK on 2008-06-05
As mentioned earlier, audio-in is very low. Also, I was unable to get the microphone to pick up sound correctly. Often times it would "start poorly" and in a few seconds get better and other times it would freeze my Skype connection all together and drop the call. After looking at LogicTech's site and Google, it appears there is no fix for this on MacOSX (10.5.2). I'm returning it tomorrow..
