  • Great CPU but kind warm

    By A3F6SRNI6LLGDI on 2007-11-09
Ok, this CPU is best right now in the market, 3.2Ghz but only 2MB cache. The good thing is this can be compete with E6750 from Intel and best Dual Core right now in the market in my opinion. If you want this CPU to run in low temp. you going to need some kind special CPU cooler not stock heatsink because it run 10oC higher than other series like x2 4200+(at 31oC with special heatsink)

  • awsome amd

this is a great processor as always from amd i bought when brand new when it was ten dollars cheaper but as always very competitive pricing just remember there is no heatsink with this thing works awsome though. great speed for gaming and watching video and stuff on dual display systmes.

  • Very good value - expect to pay extra for a >$25 HSF

Competitive performance for a fair price. If you're planning on buying it consider the cost of the heatsink and fan you'll need.

  • Good,but not good enough.

For an overcloker, this is a decent processor, but it is not as good when compared to its brother, the 5000+ Black Edition. The 5000+ has more overclocking potential than this due to the 5000+ being at 2.6Ghz while this is 3.2Ghz. 5000+ gets more bang for the buck. Unless, of course, you have no interest in overclocking, then i suggest you buy the regular 6000 at 3.0Ghz since it comes with stock cooler.

  • Just Wonderful...

Coupled this with a Thermaltake CL-P0371 heatsink and running very cool. The performance you get for this price is amazing and my MSI K9A2 Platinum couldn't be happier running this with 4GB Patriot Viper PC6400 RAM. Throw in an ASUS EAH 3870 and the Razer AC-1 Gamer sound card and you have a stable system. This is more than worth the investment that will last for quite some time.

  • Amazing!

this thing is the fastest proccessor I have ever used... Be sure to have a decent fan cooler and you will be alright

  • great processor
    By A1BUKEIQB4DU0H on 2008-05-20
great processor, fast and easy to install. Be advised you will need a top shelf heat sink unit (processor cooler) to cool within acceptable ranges. processor tends to run hot, should be around 42c at idle and + 10c at peak. cannot run past 63c according to amd.

i'm a dedicated intel user, i decided to try this product WOW! once you try black you'll never go back....

  • Great CPU

    Pros:

I am running this processor overclocked to 3.4ghz and its running fine. While playing Crysis, it hits 55C, this thing is rated up to 63C, so its fine. When its at stock speeds, it only hits 49C under full load. With the 16X multiplier, there is no need to raise it. I just bumped it from from 200 X 16 = 3200 to 210 X 16 = 3400. I may try 215 X 16 = 3500 when I have time. This CPU paired with my 8800GT is awesome, it plays every game out there. I'm playing Crysis on high at 1440 X 900 with 30fps. All my other games get at least 100fps maxed out at 1680 X 1050. This is an awesome processor if you have an AM2 board. If your building a computer from scratch, I suggest you go with Intel and get an E8400 which can easily hit 4ghz

  • Overclocked to 3.57GHz stable with 36C to 43C in load :)
    By A3H5BLODNGEEMY on 2008-03-31
Wonderfull proccesoor ... Im overclocking it up to 3.57Ghz with normal thermaltake big cooling ... with m2n32 WS pro and corsair 1066mhz diamonator 5-5-5-18-2T 2GB dual channels and 9600GT 512 + X-fi fatality :) running server 2003 SP2 X64

This is realy fast and cheap price ,,, faster than current phenom .. with less price ... hope amds aproove ATI graphics and proccessor to reach the new intel core 2 in cache (4mb and 8mb) and frequesncy (reach 3.2GHz) with 1800GHz bus ... wait for this phenom to released :)

any question will be solved here :)

  • OOOOhh Yeah!!!
    By A1GHGLA7B4YWUC on 2008-04-27
What can I say! Fast, stable, and a pretty good price. This is the "Black Edition", sooo, it is eminently "overclockable", with the appropriate software. So far, have had it "overclocked" at 3.7 ghz, then "lost my nerve", but was still stable and running quite happily. However, please bear in mind that this model does NOT come with a "stock fan", and, if you are gonna "overclock" it, you are going to need to invest in a VERY good processor fan (or maybe even "water cooling") to help keep it cool and stable. Am currently using a Thermaltake V1, which is HUUGE, and looks kinda like an immense copper/blue led Butterfly, in conjunction with a pair of Antec TriCool 120mm Blue Led Case Fans, and everything is running wonderfully.
If you are not interested in 'overclocking", then go for the "standard edition" processor, which is far cheaper, and DOES come with a perfectly acceptable "stock' processor heatsink/fan unit.

  • Good upgrade, but runs quite hot
    By A2ER8G4JJJ7XER on 2008-06-14
I enjoy this CPU now that I finally got the heat issues sorted out. And it wasn't cheap to do so. When I first got it I had it in an older Antec case with two 120mm fans and an Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro. Idled at 45C, under load ran at up to 65C. Popped for a new Coolermaster Stacker Evo 830 case, two extra fans and a Xigmatek 1283 heatsink/fan. After all that the temps came down to 36-40 idle and 49-52 load. Much better, but bear in mind this 125W chip will need a better than average case (ventilation wise) and hefty HSF to keep in the safe range.

  • Athlon 64X2 6400+ Black Edition CPU Opinion
    By AC6LEISVIH8UP on 2008-02-15
The cpu runs fine with no problems even at it's max speed of 3200Mhz+. This is about it's max speed without crashing. I only managed to overclock the FSB from the normal speed of 200 to 209 before it became unstable. I previously had a Athlon 64X2 5200+ installed, and 6400+ is noticeably faster in 3D games. Also I am using the same CPU cooler from the 5200+ with no overheating problems (Cool'N'Quiet turned on).

  • monter speed
    By A1NHN2I8MSNF2D on 2008-02-21
this thing is a monster and thats all that needs to be said about it. 3.2 ghz and who needs to overclock that? not me. call of duty4 with this processor and the 8800 is unbelieveable. i had no idea what i was missing when i was still using a 5 year old machine with a 4x agp card lol =)

  • excellent upgrade, but.....
    By A3E8TP9X84F3F8 on 2008-02-22
this thing def. made an improvement. i had the 5600+ b4 and i still noticed a good dif. one thing i didnt like, the fact that this is the fastest dual core AMD makes and it only raised my PC score from 5.3 to 5.5. so the only way to make it out is to buy the quad core. oh well. also i noticed my fan is working harder more often, but then again my PC was made with the 5600 so i dunno if its just me needing to change a fan or setting. doesnt over heat at all...that was a plus! also i got the black box edition, but with a pre-built OEM Vista install...there is no way to change my clock speed to overclock it. so i dunno how well it does overclocked..either way it made a good improvement and i do not regret my purchase
