  • Wish it helped

Wavy lines when the light was turned on, made reading difficult. I think the manufacturer should have been able to figure out how to eliminate this distraction.

  • A limited-use product

    By AOSV0SF947ZNP on 2008-01-07
The product is designed to fit over a mass-market paperback book, and is really only effective for that size book. It provides adequate light, better than any other book lights I have tried, but it really doesn't work at all for books other than mass-market paperback. The larger size lightwedge would probably have been a better choice, but has the disadvantage of being larger and heavier. Since I only use book lights when traveling, size and weight are an issue.

  • Love at First Light

    By AFDT9VMWE601S on 2008-01-10
I love this light and find it fits in my small paperbacks just fine. I am only aware of two sizes: hardback and paperback. Maybe there is a size just for mass market paperbacks. My only issue is that the new models do not have an adjustable light. That was great because when the new batteries are installed the light is a bit too bright for me. I read to get drowsy and fall asleep. Yes, the batteries are a bit hard to install and you must be careful not to break the battery cover, as I did with my very fist light. Yes, it scratches. Yes, the batteries won't last a long time if you leave the light on all night after you've fallen asleep. BUT, you won't set the house on fire. No matter its failings, this is the best book light I have ever, ever used. Best on the market. I'm pretty fussy, and this book lights gets out of the way so you can enjoy your book and those around you can enjoy whatever it is they want to do in the dark.

  • useless!

    By A9QD8YNL83380 on 2008-05-13
Absolutely useless book light. It projects wavy uneven strips of light across the page, making reading text difficult. As advertised, it doesn't disturb partners in bed at night, mainly because the light level is pathetically low. Had it been better designed with more LEDs evenly spaced along it's edge, it could work better. It's also very unwieldy for fast readers, requiring shifting from left to right as you read, and then repositioning each time a page is turned. Good idea badly executed, and an absolute waste of money. Buy an Itty Bitty book light instead. Does not deserve the single star I was forced to give it.

  • spots

    By A2Z4J2WTRXVSM4 on 2007-12-23
There were a few tiny spots that seem to be inside the lightwedge when I received it. Have only had it for a few weeks and keep it in a soft cover, but more spots seem to appear. Also, as mentioned in a prior review, there are waving lines that can be annoying.

  • Book lightI
    By A2VQBXUR5IJNP2 on 2007-12-29
the light is nice but a bit bulky. It should have a bit of magnification built in.The batteries are hard to change. Most important the light needs a case as it seems to be easily scratched.

  • Best invention since sliced bread ! ! ! !
    By AD7QDE4XY4R73 on 2007-12-21
I bought this 3 years ago and it still is a light unto my night reading. Without disturbing anyone, I bring it everywhere. In the car on long travels it is perfect on the plane. I am ready for another one. My kids use mine for reading in bed too. The best thing is it is pretty tough, it has been dropped and it keep on shinning. Battery life is great too. If you are a faithful reader this is a must. Now they have the magnifying accessory too!

  • Best book light
    By A3KESAU444NX3 on 2008-01-28
Great book light. I wished I had gotten the regular size though. When it says paperback, it means romance size book.

  • Great product
    By A1HTNPRGW760UW on 2007-12-30
The batteries are difficult to get in, but not that bad. Great idea, as long as you are careful not to scratch the screen. But since I read the reviews before I purchased it I already knew that :)

  • Oprah was right!
    By A28LMGTKYOQRSQ on 2008-01-01
I saw the Light Wedge on Oprah. She was having a sleep expert explain all the best products for a relaxing bedroom. He said that the light wedge for far more beneficial for your reading that a harsh lamp. I gave my mother, my aunt, my two mothers-in-laws, and myself one of these for Christmas. The words just flow. Plus, I don't hear those sighs of sleeplessness from my dear husband while I read in bed! Love it.

  • Much better than any other book lights
    By A31368CF05I3FU on 2008-01-08
This would have received 5 stars if it wasn't so heavy. Otherwise, it's great for paperbacks. You'll need to use the anchoring clip so that it stays on top. Provides great light and is much better than any book light I've used. I do worry that the device may get scratched up over time, but I'll deal with that later.

  • This is amazing
    By A1O24PN2KTIZO on 2008-01-08
The Lightwedge is amazing. I love to read in the car and in bed. Using this light makes those things possible without disturbing anyone else. It works really well.

  • Save your money!
    By A4YNYBBW06U32 on 2008-04-02
Maybe I'm just extremely uncoordinated, but this bookwedge is difficult to manage while reading and turning pages. My Carpal tunnel symptons are far worse when attempting to use this product. The surface scratches easily, and reading through fingerprints and smudges is both annoying and unavoidable.

  • Great handy light for reading
    By A3DCIUV5WHSLBI on 2008-01-07
This is a great handy light that makes reading a paperback so much easier than turning on an ordinary light and bothering your partner while she sleeps. I would recommend it for anyone considering a night light to read by.

  • Great Product/I love it
    By A9TAUPKSSNJJA on 2008-01-26
I love this product. It make reading so much easier. I recommend it highly.

  • LightWedge Paperback
    By AMEY3364BUL8I on 2008-02-15
This LightWedge is very good. It had lots of fine surface scratches on the viewing area, and looked used, but we decided to keep it, as when the light is on, they don't show up. We returned the larger LightWedge, as it wasn't bright enough.

  • Easy on the eyes...
    By ASA2H22YSWFGF on 2008-02-20
I first saw this LightWedge on the Oprah show, and I knew I had to have it. I recently started reading books on a regular basis, and this is mainly before bed since its so relaxing. This is much better than having the bright bedroom light on. Although this item is only limited for usage on Mass Market Paperback books, its still a great investment. If it were any larger, it would not be comfortable in handling with larger books... in my opinion.

The light on this item is fantastic, and I even use it when the ceiling light is on because it makes reading so much easier on the eyes. The light is very crisp and clear. I would HIGHLY recommend this item.

  • Wonderful Product
    By A1KEP58ONMNOPD on 2008-03-23
This is the best booklight I have ever used. I read constantly so I have tried out many. Also the first one had a problem and they replaced it immediately. I would recommend it to anyone and have given two others to friends who enjoy them.

  • Lovin' the light!
    By A3IDGT7EMALV97 on 2008-04-13
I have looked at this product and had it on my wishlist for some time now. When my birthday and Christmas both passed and it had not been "gifted" to me, I bought it for myself and I have LOVED having it. It is a perfect size to leave in my reading selections as a bookmark and it provides a surprising amount of light, that is not distracting to my partner when I read after dark, or to my baby when I sit in his room and read until he falls to sleep. The carrying case was a great buy, and handy to have to keep the glass clean and safe from harm when not in use. I would highly recommend it!

  • Disappointing
    By A1O3Y7PXDD1J8L on 2008-06-08
The Wedgelight was highly recommended by another journalist but proved disappointing. It was heavier than anticipated, and the light on the page was uneven and wavy.

  • Casts a shadow
    By A2UOOBL7AK1HTK on 2008-06-24
Read all the reviews--they are right on. This set is bulky and awkward. It's confusing--you have to buy the light separate from the magnifier. Plus the light isn't that good. I use them occasionally, when I'm reading very small print. But I'm disappointed...

  • I love it!
    By A3HY5AH55S4KRJ on 2007-12-28
It works great. Very easy to use and hold with a book. Very bright but not to bright to keep my husband awake as I read in bed. The glass feels like light plastic and scratches easily, so you have to be careful with it. But I still love it. Now, my husband wants one.

  • I like this booklight.
    By A2T7WBUI8PS20D on 2008-02-05
I wish it had another brightness setting like the other model I considered buying. Sometimes this one seems too bright. But I can definitely see the whole page well.

  • LightWedge
    By AB3Y0U9V1DB2S on 2008-02-14
Just as described, no glare but good light. Perfect for paperbacks. Can use on regular size books but have to move around. Does not bother my husband in bed. Batteries are lasting a long time. Recommend to others.
