NOT WORTH THE MONEY By A3GBGADVGAI8I3 on 2008-05-18
These batteries do not hold a charge. I own the whole set of garden tools and I really love them. I have seven batteries to go along with the tools and all of them combined probably hold an hours worth of charge. It just drives me crazy when I am working in the garden and you can,t finish the job your doing because the battery runs out so quickly. I wish Black and Decker could improve these batteries because I really love the line of lawn tools but until they do I won,t be buying any more.
Addictive and Fun By A34VCCL1YO6D0I on 2008-05-28
As one reviewer indicated the interchangeability of the batteries makes the entire Black and Decker 18 volt line very addictive. I find myself looking for tools that work with the batteries.
As for the batteries themselves the big positive is the interchangeability. There are two significant negatives. The first negative is that the charger that comes with the batteries and the tools is a dumb charger that does not tell you if it is complete or not. This is annoying. The second issue is the batteries are slightly anemic. Not bad since they are interchangeable but still a little more power and longevity would be nice. Don't worry though. Black and Decker has a silver series of the batteries that purports to be 40% longer life.
Overall a great system and one I am please with.
Not what I expected By A2PDIYKQ128JRE on 2008-06-05
I thought a charger came with this product. Now I have to spend more money to buy the charger to make it work.
Wish charges last longer By A2GKIZEXT6HULE on 2008-05-21
The Battery charges well and works fine. But the charge does not last long enough...about 20 minutes
Black & Decker 18 Volt Battery By A2U6WUQLCVORVG on 2008-06-04
Love the idea of being cordless with using this B&D battery. I found the batteries last for 3 years or so, then don't hold the charge long enough for me, so I buy new ones to replace it.
- Horrible Batteries
     By AM4UC22IMGGDW on 2008-06-24
I have 3 of these batteries and I can't even get 20 minutes out of all 3 combined. I wish I had never bought a weedwacker that uses these batteries. I will never buy a battery powered garden tool again!
- So Disappointing
     By A2YA6NP39QK78K on 2008-06-02
I've used the 18-volt batteries for my lawn tools for 2 years now. They are losing their charge. I have two batteries for my edger-trimmer and both of them may get through 30 minutes of weeding and edging. That just isn't cutting it. I'm fed up with them and am going to have to go back to my electric tools which I hate too...however you don't lose power in the middle of a job with an electric or gas powered tool. Love the idea of everything battery powered...but the idea hasn't worked
- Does not hold charge
     By A3LV6ZZEXL3TUE on 2008-08-22
I love the Black and Decker cordless products but these 18v batters are horrible. They do not hold a charge and I can only get at best 15 min. out of two of them. Now I have to buy more just to get my small yard done. What a waste of money.
- Holds a charge very well
     By A2WNFWR5MG9AT5 on 2008-08-02
This holds a charge very well, holds up when used and charges quickly. Easy and lightweight to handle. Came very quickly when ordered. I guess there's not much more to say about a battery.
- Great Back-Up Battery
     By A2REB66XL4ZQLF on 2008-11-02
When I purchased my Black & Decker hedge trimmer, it came with only one battery - no enough to complete my long hedges in a single session. I'd checked in Home Depot for a back-up battery and learned they were not available except with a particular tool. Then I found this Black & Decker battery online through Amazon - the exact same battery as that which came with the trimmer, and couldn't wait for it to arrive. This is a great battery; with it I can now trim the entire length of my hedge without having to wait for a recharge. The battery slides into and out of both the tool and the charging station with absolutely no effort - a very important factor for me since I have arthritis in my hands. I highly recommend it. The price was great as well.
- long lasting - so far
     By A3J2OIZWA02CON on 2008-07-07
This is my 3rd battery. The first 2 were purchased 2 years ago with my weed whacker and no longer hold a charge. This one just arrived a few weeks ago and has been extremely reliable. Long-lasting and consistent charge.....but we'll see how long that lasts.
- not economical
     By A32KRLK1FMOS4F on 2008-08-18
I can buy a new Grass Hog for another $10 complete with a new battery. The batteries I have only lasted a year. This is not very economical. Think i will try a better manufacture of grass cutter.
- They'd be great if they weren't junk!
     By A95ODG2JVC9WW on 2008-09-20
Looking at the other reviews, you either get a good battery that will last or one that won't go beyond a few charge cycles. I have to say my batteries did not last very long and no longer hold a charge. I'm back to using my plug-in weed-eater and leaf blower.
- not to happy
     By A2DS1539DQCECE on 2008-10-09
